The Space@599 is a newly built unit underneath our 1900's Queenslander. It is modern and a little bit retro with polished concrete floors in the Kitchen/Living room and the Bedroom. The unit is beautifully appointed with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable and make this your home away from home.
The unit has reverse cycle Air-conditioning for those hot summer days, or cool winter nights. There are also two ceiling fans in the kitchen/living room and another ceiling fan in the bedroom. Rehau uPvc double glazed windows and doors, and extra insulation keep the unit quiet and private. The windows are also fitted with flyscreens to keep out the pesky bugs and mosquitos.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a 900mm Smeg oven/Rangehood, LG Fridge and Dishwasher. It also has enough pots, pans, crockery and cutlery so you can create a masterpiece in the kitchen, or alternatively why not make use of your own BBQ on the patio. Inside there is a dining table and chairs to seat 4, or there is an outside setting if you prefer to eat outside.
Contained in the unit there is also a private bathroom and toilet. The massive shower is fitted with a hand held wand, or you can stand under the 250mm rain head to help wash away the days exploring.
In the bedroom, there is a Queen sized bed fitted with quality linen and a built in robe so that you can unpack while staying with us so you do not feel like you are living out of a suitcase.
We can also accommodate up to two children as the couch in the living room can be made into a sofa bed (real inner spring mattress) We also have an additional single bed mattress upstairs which could be setup on the floor if it is needed.
The unit has a flat screen Sony Bravia TV. This is connected to the @599 Wireless network via a Roku Telstra TV. You are also welcome to use the Netflix subscription we have, or connect any of your technological gadgets to our wireless network. You are also able to use the Bigpond Movie streaming service that is part of the Telstra TV device, however these would need to be paid for but are not expensive at around $6.00 a movie. Guest AccessAccess to the unit can be either by the front door, or via the French doors at the back of the property. The French doors look out onto the Patio and up into the garden. Please remember to close the gate if coming in the back door as our Beagle does not have a great deal of road sense.
You are welcome to use any of the facilities in the unit, or on your patio. If you would like to use the Pizza oven please ask as it does require some experience. Interaction with GuestsDuring your stay with us, please just let us know if there is anything you need, as we will be upstairs. Both of us work during the day, but can be reached via mobile phone if needed. You are more than welcome to come chat with us or join us for a BBQ, or a pizza when the Pizza oven has been fired up, or if you would prefer to enjoy your stay in private that is also no problems. The NeighborhoodLess then 2 kilometers away is Westfield Chermside. This is the largest shopping Centre on the north side of Brisbane. It has many many many many shops, Cinemas, a good food court , and restaurants.
Over the road is a Woolworths, Chemist, and Café.
There is also the Aspley Hypermarket, about 5 minutes drive for Coles, Kmart, Aldi and some other specialty shops.
All the major Take Away's are also available close by.
Across the Road is Marchant Park which leads down to 7th Brigade Park. This is a great place to get some fresh air. There are lots of walking paths and a playground for the kids. Getting AroundWe are about 11 kilometres north of Brisbane which is easily accessible via bus or car.
There are two bus stops, the 340, and the 335 within a 5 minute walk.
There is carparking directly outside our place, or as another option in the Lions carpark located directly over the road.
We have two GoCards which can be used on all public transport in Brisbane available for your use. We have $15.00 worth of credit available on each one, and ask that if you use them to please top them back up before you leave. Other Things to NoteLaundry. There is a laundry on premise, which you are more than welcome to use. There is a small clothes line in the laundry, or we do have a clothes-horse in the apartment that you are also welcome to use.
