Have you ever heard the dawn chorus as it was meant to be heard? It is an orchestra of bird calls. A family group of Kookaburras singing a chorus that they improvise as they sing, celebrating the joy of life together. Red Tailed Black Cockatoos flying in pairs overhead. The elusive Whip Bird and it's mate call to each other as they flit from twig to twig. Delicate tiny finches chirping to each other as they bounce among the tall grass stems. Other unidentified birds all singing and chirping right outside your tent and through the valley. Stop... listen and bask in the glorious singing of the birds. At first you may think you must be dreaming. You've never heard anything like it. A truly soul uplifting symphony. If you're lucky, you may enjoy the privilege of witnessing our resident wedge-tailed eagles gliding the thermals, when they so choose, above the valley and mountains in a light blue cloudless sky. Walk up Point Glorious - take time out to gaze into the breathtaking beauty of the Noosa Hinterland valley, surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. Create your own dreams and memories to last a lifetime. A wise person once said: “A treasure chest of authentically joyful experiences will feed you for life.” Local History As you drive towards Point Glorious along the private secluded earthy roadway that is Anderson road, cast your mind back in history. The first road through the district, similar to this country lane, was created immediately after gold was discovered at Gympie in 1867. Noosa Hinterland has a rich history of logging and dairy farming. In the early 1850's the steep hills rising out of the valley of the North Maroochy River and the slopes of Mt Eerwah contained a wealth of timber. The surrounding country consisted of dense vine scrubs full of Cedar, Beech, and Pine and long ridges covered with Blackbutt and Tallowwood. By 1922 there were two timber mills in Eumundi alone. As the timber was felled and the land cleared, paspaluma and other grasses were planted and dairy farms established. By 1900, shops started to appear: general stores, a bakery, saddlery, blacksmiths, butcher shops, auctioneers and agents. Eumundi, with a railway and road to the north passing through it, developed as an important centre of the timber and dairy industries. The building of two butter factories in the 1920's, one at Eumundi and the other at Cooroy indicates the significance of the dairy industry in this region. The huge fig trees in the main street of Eumundi were planted for soldiers who fell in the first World War and are considered a living war memorial. These glorious trees have been heritage listed. The Original Eumundi Markets started in 1979 with three stalls. Today there are over 600 stalls with over 1.6 million visitors per year. Getting AroundWe are a Rural farm property 10 minutes drive from Eumundi. Ideally, you would have your own vehicle, particularly if you want to visit the quaint hinterland country towns. If a guest does not have transport - we can arrange transfer to Eumundi where there are many taxi/shuttle bus alternatives or can arrange airport transfers. Let us know what you might require. Other Things to NotePoint Glorious farmstead is a 22 Acre property in the Noosa Hinterland with a variety of fruit and nut trees. Avocado, Mangos, Lychees, Pecan nuts, Oranges, Mandarines, Paw Paws and Bananas. Guests are welcome to pick and enjoy the fresh fruit when in season. The property shares its boundries with Mapleton National Park, a famous old Avocado farm and Beef cattle grazing fields. There are bush walking tracks on the property ranging from easy, to difficult - including a challenging climb that boasts magnificent views of the valley and mountain ranges. (Available as a guided walk only) Some of the more challenging tracks are seasonal and may not not be accessible during wet weather. Contact us if a climb is on your agenda and we will check the accessibility of the tracks. Pet Dogs are welcome! We ask guests to make sure they are under owner control at all times and to please keep them out of the Tent. Please contact us and let us know if you plan to bring your pet so we can make the appropriate arrangements.

The SpaceVisiting Eumundi for the famous Eumundi markets or for any reason? Stay with me and be within walking distance, as parking is at a premium when the market is on every Saturday and Wednesday... Eumundi is a lovely small historic town which has managed to retain its relaxed village atmosphere (except on market days) and is worth exploring any day of the week. Located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland in South East Queensland, it is only 21km south-west of Noosa Heads and 118km north of the state-capital Brisbane. My Eumundi getaway room is upstairs in a lovely old weatherboard Queenslander style house with loads of charm and history. The main part of the upstairs of the house was once a cottage and is over 100 years old. There are three bedrooms... I let one for AirBnb guests, one is for occasional visitors and can be let as Airbnb - please enquire. The other is mine - we all share the same bathroom... You will have use of the lovely big upstairs verandah with a great treed view. A great spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine and a wonderful place for breakfast. A simple prepare your own breakfast of toast and cereal is included and dietary requirements can be accommodated if notice is given at time of booking or up to a week before arrival. Use of the kitchen is to prepare non cooked breakfast only - as use of cooking facilities are not supplied in the rental price but can be negotiated for longer stays. I find most people want to head to the Eumundi Markets for an amazing selection of foodies delights or to try one of Eumundi's many eateries. As an ex restaurateur I am also happy to prepare a cooked breakfast or dinner for you to enjoy on my verandah. Please ask for availability and pricing... be my guest! There are tea and coffee making facilities and you are welcome to store any food items and use the fridge. If you love to explore then take a walk down to the Eumundi Markets (Wednesday or Saturday) and don't forget to explore along the main street - Memorial Drive and discover the many shops and eateries as well as DIscover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre where you can go for all you local information. You can also drive just 20 minutes to enjoy the famous Noosa and other nearby beaches. If you are into a more active life - the Eumundi aquatic centre and tennis courts are only 200 metres away! Enquiries about special pricing for longer stays are welcome. Guest AccessGuests have use of the upstairs verandah, lounge and dining room. There are tea and coffee making supplies you are welcome to make a cuppa when you like. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you want. As you will be sharing my living area I am sure we will have interaction but I work 5 days a week and tend to like my privacy - but I also love meeting new people... I have good local knowledge and can assist with dining suggestions, shopping, entertainment or how to get to places... The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood surrounding my property is fairly quiet and would probably be called semi rural just 800m from the Eumundi town centre which can be easily walked. As it is near an old forested area there is lots of birdlife and birdsong to be heard. Getting AroundThe train stops in Eumundi from the north and the south with more trains coming from Brisbane stopping in Nambour to the south - a bus can then be caught from Nambour to Eumundi where I can pick you up. There are also buses specifically bringing people from both the Sunshine Coast airport and Brisbane airport to Eumundi. A bus can also be caught in Eumundi to take you to Noosa Heads and Noosa Junction. Other Things to NoteThe decor of my house could be described as arty, quirky, cluttered, eclectic - please look at the many photos carefully... my house is not to everyone's taste... some are not happy to have a share bathroom or shared living areas... if you are such a person my house may not be for you.

The Space"The Shack" has two bedrooms and can sleep up to 4 people. It has one Queen sized bedroom and a TINY bunk room which is perfect for kids as they feel like they're in a cubby house. (Adults sleep in the bunks as well...we've had no complaints BUT as an adult I don't find them THAT comfortable - the foam compresses a bit and hits the base underneath...maybe I'm just too heavy :-/ kids don't have this problem though :-) We are on 25 acres and have horses (Jasper the boy and Rainbow the girl), cows in the next door paddock, a couple of goats called Andre and Norman. Unfortunately we only have one overly friendly chicken left who is very tame and may occasionally leave a surprise on your steps :-( sorry ! Wild kangaroos come and go often...and some naughty bandicoots come in the night to clean up any grain the chicken missed. We are getting more chickens soon when we get a proper fox safe enclosure built. When that happens we can give you our amazing eggs again. Simply outstanding eggs if I do say so myself. We are located across the road from the entry into the Eumundi Conservation Park. This park is popular with horse riders, mountain bikers, and bush walkers...the walk around the Geebung circuit loop is lovely and takes around 45 minutes. Bring your horse if you have one...they will love it here. When you arrive at 154 take the driveway right to the end. The Shack is located in the far back corner of the big iron shed...we are out a lot of the time but the place will be left open for you. Make yourself right at home:-) Guest AccessYou have access to the shed and surrounds. The "games room" in the shed is communal but unless you are here for an extended length of time you probably won't see our kids much(19, 17 and 12)...they have uni, school and many sporting commitments....and we are always off working in our other jobs. Unfortunately :-) Interaction with GuestsTotally available if and when you need us. We are very social as a rule but understand you didn't come here to talk to us :-) Besides that we are also extremely busy with our other real jobs so not around a great deal. Always available to answer any questions via message or text though.... The NeighborhoodWe love Eumundi so much, and know you will too. Unique, because it has that great laid-back country town feel, but still so close to three of the most popular coastal towns of the Sunshine Coast - Noosa, Peregian and Coolum Beach are all only an 18 minute drive away. In fact Maroochydore and Mooloolaba not much further than that either. Undoubtedly these are some of Queensland's best beaches. Eumundi really comes alive every Wednesday and Saturday....our famous markets draw visitors from near and far! Be sure to leave enough time to get around the market.... and to eat, (at the amazing food stalls) drink, and check out the great entertainment. Stall holders displaying their wares from Australia and around the globe will ensure your morning here will be a feast for the senses, and one to remember! Enjoy! Getting AroundYou definitely need a car here. The closest bus stop is around 3kms away. Other Things to NoteThere are a few kids games and books, and our 4wd pedal buggy is old but still seems to be a hit with the kids (beware you'll probably have to push) ...they are also very welcome to help us feed the chooks and horses if they would like to :-)

The SpaceThe cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other a single with trundle. The single bedroom is small and is best suited to children but still accommodates adults comfortably. There is a large bathroom and a full kitchen with stove, oven, mircowave and fridge. The lounge, dinning and kitchen area is open living. We also have a TV with built in DVD. Access to mobil reception is very good. The outside is a lovely setting with a veranda overlooking a grassy yard and tree lined valley. We even have a very friendly resident Kookaburra that has seemed to claim the place as his! Guest AccessDue to insurance reasons there is no access to our pool which is located in front of the main house, quite a distance from the cottage. We have dams located on the property which can't be seen from the the main house or the cottage, so if you have children we ask that you supervise them at all times. Interaction with GuestsI love to meet people but also understand people like there space and I will greet them on arrival. There are numerous national parks around and is about a 20 minute drive to the Beach. Fraser Island is approximately an hours drive away via Gympie. A 4wd is necessary to access Fraser Island, a world heritage listed area and the largest sand Island in the world. There are tours that will take you there if you don't have a vehicle. Getting AroundOur house is a 20 minute walk from town but I wouldn't advise walking here as you need to pass a very busy road which has no pathway. A car is an advantage in this area although there is public buses in Eumundi township. The Sunshine Coast Airport is located in Maroochydore which is about a 30 minute drive away. Brisbane airport is about an hour and a half away. Other Things to NoteParking is located behind the main house where there is a silver garage door. The SpaceMy place is just so peaceful and relaxing, that as soon as you enter, you will feel it. It is a refuge from the sounds of the city with only the sound of cows mooing and birds in song. The open plan living gives you a great area to just feel so free and chill out completely. The out look of the rambling hillsides and rural setting compliment the house. Not to mention the babbling brook that contains platypus, fish and turtles. You will have full access of the house. Satelitte television and dvd player here and a great selection of movies too. Ceiling fans are the best on hot days, but the fresh air always flows so well in the valley. Gas heating for winter. A washing machine for washing available too. Outside there is a Webber gas bbq. Inside a gas stove, electric oven and microwave oven. You will enjoy cooking in the kitchen with the country outlook. I am available to answer any questions about the house. I can tell you about some great cafes and restaurants and surrounding attractions. The house is situated in a very quiet valley, down a country dirt road. Totally tree covered. You cannot see any neighbours houses. So there is total privacy. You will be totally captured in the romantic setting as you sip your glass of wine in the afternoon, watching the magpie geese fly by. Or go for an afternoon or evening walk. You'll fall inlove with the place. You really need a car. As it is 5 kilometre out of town. About 20 minutes to the beach at Noosa. 10 minutes to the Eumundi market. The house is on tank water and it is lovely to drink, as it is all filtered. The concrete drive is steep and can be a challenge to some, but it is easy after a couple of goes. Your car will be under cover and protected. Guest AccessYou will have full access of the house. The SpaceWelcome to my beautiful home and your perfect holiday retreat. I can offer, for an extra fee, to show you around the markets, or transfer you to and from Noosa, or even to explore the Blackall Range towns of Montville and Maleny, or the towns of Cooroy, Yandina or Pomona. I am usually home in the evenings if you would like to chat or watch a movie on Netflix, but I can make myself scarce if you are wanting a romantic night in. I love travelling and am an experienced travel coordinator. For a fee, I am happy to help you plan your Sunshine Coast holiday. I can help you with a Coast & Country holiday where you might spend a few days with me and a few on the Noosa River, or at Marcoola Beach, or other locations. The NeighborhoodEumundi is a friendly country town that comes alive on market days - Wednesdays and Saturdays. The glorious giant fig trees shade the main street. There are lovely shops, cafes, two pubs, and a wonderful children's park. Best of all is that it is in the middle of many other destinations on the Sunshine Coast. Eumundi is just off the Bruce Highway, so there is quick access north to Cooroy, Pomona and Gympie. A lovely day trip north is to Rainbow Beach. Heading south down the highway is Maroochydore - the Sunshine Plaza if you need retail therapy. Head east to the coast and an amazing choice of some of the best beaches in the world and lovely seaside locations like Noosa, Sunshine Beach, Coolum and Peregian. West of Eumundi is Kenilworth, another beautiful country town where you can taste the local cheese, walk through the rainforests, or trek through the national parks. Other Things to NoteI aim to provide privacy so I will not book out the twin room if a couple have booked the queen room. However a family or a group of friends might book both rooms.
