We have two double room available located on the ground level of our two storey home in Brisbane inner city suburb of Gaythorne. The accommodation downstairs is self-sufficient and modern with a separate bathroom, kitchen, lounge and patio area. The kitchen has a fridge, hot plates, toaster, kettle, crockery (cups, plates etc), cutlery, cooking utensils, pans and pots. For bookings under a week we will supply a light breakfast, tea, sugar and milk. We have a laundry with a washing machine, iron and board. The only reason we would come downstairs would be to use the laundry but would let you know first :). You also have your own seperate entry. We are 7km from the CBD and have a train station within a 3 minute walk. We are also close to Samford Rd that has busses running all day to the city. The closet Shopping Centre is Brookeside Centre which you can walk to within 15mins or hop on a bus from Samford Rd and be there in no time. We have two great Cafes a few metres from our home. Grub St Cafe and Hansel & Gretel. Both are well known for good food and great coffee. My partner and I are easy going and friendly people but do work long hours and can't unfortunately promise to be always be around. Our accommodation would suit someone who is happy to do their own thing and would like their own space. We also have a very lazy British Bulldog named Isadora that is very friendly and sleeps pretty much all day. Hope to hear from you soon.

    Ideal for a romantic escape or a family retreat, this cosy cottage offers privacy and seclusion. It is a former forestry workers cottage, and the site takes pride in the homely atmosphere, tasteful decor, attention to detail, and the personal touches of fresh flowers, candles, and chocolates, as well as tea and freshly ground organic coffee for the espresso coffee machine. Their sustainable practices include solar-assisted power, on-site waste water treatment, use of rainwater throughout, natural cleaning products, and re-purposed building materials.The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a double bed. All linen is included. The fully-equipped kitchen has a stove, an oven, a coffeemaker, and a microwave. There is a cosy wood-burning fireplace, and electric blankets are also provided for those cold mountain nights. A collection of books, CDs, and games, an iPod docking station, a CD player, and binoculars for bird watching are also provided. The veranda with gas barbecue looks out to the forest and the visiting birdlife. The property is a short walk from D'Aguilar National Park which offers a number of walking tracks and picnic areas.

    We have a large family italian style home on approx 1 acre in northern Brisbane and only 20 mins from Brisbane CBD via public transport. We have a large kitchen, two living areas and a very large undercover outdoor bbq area including a pizza oven. We have two spare bedrooms with one having its own toilet and shower. We are a family of 5 with myself, my husband and 3 kids aged 12, 10 and 8. We are an active family that likes to get out on the weekends to the beach, local parks and also ride bikes (of which we have many to spare).

    The SpaceThe space is large, rustic and fully self contained. It is made from mostly recycled and second hand materials in line with our lifestyle philosophy. It has an open plan lounge area with fireplace, large kitchen/dining area, and bathroom - all with rainforest views. The Queen size bed in the open plan area faces the fireplace and TV. The single bed sits snuggly in a corner with a screen for privacy. Guests have their own private deck and Barbecue with views. The BnB occupies one end of my long, split level rambling house. Complete privacy is afforded because a Yoga Room sits between the BnB and my living space. Guests can request use of the Yoga Room for asanas or meditation. Nobody else uses this space except me (for an hour in afternoons). Tea / 'real' expresso coffee/milk/sugar is provided upon arrival. You can enjoy breakfast at one of the four cafes or bring some goodies with you to cook and enjoy your own breakfast on the deck overlooking the rainforest. Mount Glorious has no food stores for groceries so any home cooking supplies need to bought on your way from Samford (20 mins) or The Gap (30 mins). This retreat welcomes same sex couples and people with disabilities and their carers. It has wheelchair access to the deck, living space and bathroom but unfortunately the shower itself is not a wheelchair-accessible shower. Sorry.. The temperature is approximately 5 degrees cooler than Brisbane. Winter nights are spent by the cozy fire whereas in summer the cool mountain breezes are a welcome relief from city's heat. My property is called "Glamalye" which is Celtic for "fairy magic". When the mist rolls in and the fireflies frolic, its easy to see why ! Guest AccessMyself or my partner personally greet each guest to show them the space and answer any questions. Interaction with GuestsI live at the other end of this long rambling house so am available for any requests if i am home. But i believe people come to this place for some peace and quiet so I try to find that balance between privacy and helpfulness- my motto is: 'You can bother me but I won't bother you' The NeighborhoodEmbraced by lush rainforest, the mountain hamlet of Mount Glorious, at 680m above sea level, is just 45 minutes drive from Brisbane city centre. It is quiet during the week and attracts visitors to the Maiala National Park on the weekends. It is populated by artists, writers, musicians and nature lovers. The property is set on acreage within easy walking distance from the rainforest walks, cafes and the magnificent world-class sculpture garden (Phoenix Sculpture Garden) set amongst the thick lush rainforest - an absolute must to visit! Getting AroundSchool bus on weekdays to and from The Gap, $5 one way. Connector public transport bus from The Gap to city. Host goes up and down mountain almost every day if you need a lift. Other Things to NoteIts very important that each guest reads the Welcome Folder to familiarise themselves with the space and the idiosyncrasies of living in this rainforest environment. Wifi is available for general net surfing/ email but not for huge file downloads. The mountain has fast internet speeds but on rare occasions it will simply drop out for a very brief period. If this happens to you, just wait a few moments and reboot. Mobile reception is best with Telstra and Optus but for other carriers, a walk to the top of the property will give you reception.

Peace and privacy for our guests is our main aim. However we are available onsite should you need anything. A hamper of breakfast provisions is available at $15pp per night. The NeighborhoodMount Glorious is surrounded by D'Aguilar National Park. There are beautiful walking tracks through both rainforest and gum forest. At 620m above sea level, it is cooler than Brisbane in summer, and can get quite cold and misty in winter - a good time to sit in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good book! Mount Glorious village has several cafes for daytime dining. A beautiful sculpture garden, in a rainforest setting, is open on Sundays. Day trips in the Brisbane Hinterland take you to Fernvale, Esk, Wivenhoe Dam, Dayboro and Mount Mee. There are no food stores at Mount Glorious. The nearest supermarket and shops are at Samford (20 mins). Getting AroundUnfortunately there is no public transport to Mount Glorious. Access is by car only. Parking is on site, beside your accommodation.     The SpaceThere is a fully functional kitchen and separate lounge and living area, kitchen and bathroom, there is also a fold out lounge (it sleeps 1) in the lounge room. There is ample covered parking for a large van or caravan. We are pet friendly and the area has a fully fenced yard for a dog. Guests will have separate access to the detached 1 bedroom house, there is plenty of space to explore and wander in the gardens. We are always on hand to make you feel welcome and offer any assistance, but we would like you to feel that this is your space when you stay. Samford Village is a wonderful community with a local supermarket, gift shops, hotel and a great selection of good quality cafes and restaurants. The village is located 2.5kms from our home. There is no public transport in walking distance, the closest train station is a 7 minute drive. Guest AccessGuests will have separate access to the detached 1 bedroom studio, there is plenty of space to explore and wander in the gardens.     Our family of four live in a modern 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house just 5km from Brisbane. Our two sons are 16 and 11 and we have a gorgeous Border Collie and not so friendly cat! We live close to Kelvin Grove University, within walking distance of trains and buses and we are a 2 minute walk from the Kedron Brook Nature Reserve which spans several suburbs and has a fantastic bike path and several parks. We have two adult bikes which guests are welcome to use. The guest bedroom is fresh and modern with a large built-in wardrobe, drawers and double sliding doors that open up onto the covered patio and garden. The Queen bed is new and very comfortable. The bedroom is joined to a gorgeous bathroom and separate T.V. room plus study/wireless computer nook. There is also a microwave, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We are only 1hrs drive from the Sunshine Coast and 1hrs drive from the Gold Coast and all the theme parks and lush green beauty of the Hinterland. We have a second car that we can lend based on the age and license held by the driver for which a separate usage fee can be negotiated. We work 5 days a week but in the evening we love nothing better than to sit down on our deck upstairs to enjoy a BBQ and a few wines ,and if you're inclined and not too exhausted from your site seeing - some company:)

    The SpaceWe offer a room or two rooms in a nice, quiet, solar powered low set home with veggies and herbs growing in our garden. There are also two comfortable outdoor sun-lounges for your comfort. Access to fully equipped kitchen (incl. electric oven, electric stove, high powered blender, kitchen robot, tea kettle and sandwich press) lounge, dinning area, garden and patio. One of us will be most likely here during your stay most of the time, so you can always ask if you need anything. What I love about our neighborhood is how quiet it is so you can come here to rest and for that long needed refreshing sleep. It is friendly area and local shops are only a short stroll away. There are buses 7-10 min walking distance, which take you to the center of Brisbane in about 25 minutes. If you come by a car you can park for FREE in front of the house. As we are environmentally friendly people with interest in health and wellbeing, we keep our home free from TV and microwave. There is a wifi internet available. Stove, oven and other kitchen appliances are here to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. There are also several buses that run from the city center through to Everton Park and it's a nice walk from the bus stop to our home. For travel from/to the airport, it's best to take a taxi. If my partner is at home when you arrive/fly out, he might be able to pick you up / drop you off at the airport for a fee. Getting AroundBus stop to train is only 3 minutes walk from our house. However it is an easy 20 min walk to station if you prefer. Other Things to NoteWe have a ridiculously friendly Staffy called Scooter a few chooks scratching around the back yard and a couple of hobby bee hives. The hives are not a threat at all but you need to know they are there.

There are security screens/fly-screens around the whole house so you will feel safe and free from mosquitoes or flies. The house is located in a quiet and relaxing residential suburb, with good access to the airport only about 15 min by car. Our home backs onto beautiful bushland, and the deck overlooks the inground salt water swimming pool. We are a 5 minute walk to the bus, taking you into Brisbane City.     Our family lives in a four bedroom house that is adjacent to a leafy forested reserve and small lake in outer Brisbane. We have one small dog and our house has a natural out look and an inviting swimming pool. We have a surround sound cinema room for viewing movies and my husband is an avid cyclist. It is a short ten minute walk to the local shops. There is a bus very close by that takes you to the train. As we are semi rural but still in the city the train ride to the city centre is around 30 minutes.

The NeighborhoodWhat I love about our neighborhood is the many brick houses, the quiet streets, the nice friendly neighbors. Also love the fact that it's a safe suburb of Brisbane. Getting AroundIf you come by car, you will be able to park right in front of the house for FREE. If you arrive by plane, the airport is about 15-20min drive and we might be able to pick you up for a fee if we are available. Also there are buses that go from our suburb directly to the center of Brisbane. Other Things to NoteOur home is a TV and microwave free. We encourage you to read one of our inspirational books or bring your own art or craft to do in your free time when you want to relax. The usually quiet neighborhood also enables you to have a peaceful time for meditation. We are looking forward to meeting you.

Both rooms are very clean and comfortable - linen including towels are provided THE KITCHEN You are welcome to cook and use the utensils but please provide your own food except tea and coffee will be available for your use. Just ask that the kitchen is left clean after use. BREAKFAST A SELF SERVICE light breakfast of cereal, toast, fruit and juice will be provide. If you have special needs or allergies please advise after booking BATHROOM: You will have the use of a private bathroom. I would prefer you use shower gel rather then soap. I am one hour from the north and south coast. There is a nice neighbourhood spirit - its private but friendly Close by you will find the Rode Shopping Centre or Stafford City Shopping Centre or the very large Westfield Chermside for all your shopping needs. Public Transport: You will find access to public transport within walking distance ( approx 10 minutes) as there are more than one bus lines that service the area. If time permits and if i am available I would be happy to do a "pick up or drop off" to the airport or the city for a $25 fee. A cab would be at least $40 for each of these trips I am a shift worker and where ever and whenever possible i am willing to offer some assistance to make your stay enjoyable.     The SpaceThe House Built in late 2013, the apartment has its own entrance & fully fenced yard. The unit is fully fire protected between the levels for peace of mind & to ensure you are protected in the case of an emergency. This is one house, so transference of noise is inevitable, but hopefully no more than that in a hotel or apartment. Bedrooms There are two Queen bedrooms, one with an ensuite and the third bedroom has been set up as an office area but has a double futon for those occasions you may want space for an extra person. All rooms have fans & the living room air conditioner cools/warms the entire apartment, but in all honesty, the unit is cool in summer and warm in winter. The main bedroom has access to the rear yard, and I would request when using the rear door, please ensure your feet/shoes are cleaned prior to re-entry on to the carpet. Bathrooms The main bedroom has well sized en-suite, and the main bathroom has a shower over bath. Hair dryers are provided in each bathroom. Initial shampoo/conditioner/shower gels/toilet paper are provided for your convenience however are not restocked throughout your stay. Kitchen A full kitchen with all the standard conveniences is catered for including microwave, cookware, rice cooker, coffee grinder, plenty of glassware and dinnerware etc. Living Area The open plan dining/lounge has air conditioning, a 48" Smart TV, DVD/CD/Radio player (does not play Blu-Ray)& Chromecast for your streaming. Linen All linen is supplied. Laundry There is a separate laundry with washing machine, iron & ironing board & clothes drying rack and pegs (there is a clothes line) in the back yard. There are a number of nearby shopping centres, and depending on whether you like walking, you could get to them within 30 minutes or so. •The Stafford Shopping Centre is just a 5 minute drive away and has a Hoyts movie theatre, Woolworths, Aldi, Big W & specialty stores. •The Brookside Shopping Centre is just a 5 minute drive away (the other direction) and has Myer, Big W, Coles, Woolworths, foodcourt & multiple specialty stores. •The Chermside Shopping Centre is just 15 minutes drive away and is the largest shopping complex on the north side of Brisbane. It has Event Cinemas, Bowling & entertainment, multiple restaurants & bars, services such as Medicare & RACQ, David Jones, Myer & a large number of specialty stores. •About 3 minutes away is the new Woolworths/Masters complex which also has a café, Mexican Burrito Bar & Grill’d Hamburger restaurant. If you turn left along the path, you will actually walk to the Brookside Shopping Centre & beyond. Getting AroundPublic Transport - There are a number of public transport options in the area. Please visit (URL HIDDEN) for further information. •A bus stop for route 345 (stop 31) is 5 minutes walk away. Turn right along the street & get onto the bike path. At the the first main road, you will see a bus stop to your right across the street. This will take you south direct into the city every 10-15 minutes. Otherwise, you can go north to Aspley. •A bus stop for route 360 (stop 35) is 5 minutes walk away. Turn left along the street & left down Clover street. Walk one street down to Elkhorn Street, then turn right & go down to the end. You’ll hit the bus stop at the main road and go south to the CBD or across the road north to Brookside Shopping Centre. •The Enoggera bus & train interchange is approximately 15-20 minutes walk (3 minutes drive away with ample parking). This is a great place to park you car and get into the city within about 15 minutes. It is on the Ferny Grove line, and goes via Fortitude Valley, to Central Station & on to Roma Street Station where you can transfer for any other line in the Brisbane network. (URL HIDDEN) Getting AroundA taxi from the BCC Bus stop (385) at the corner of Waterworks and Settlement Road or the Train Station at Keperra about $15. Arriving by taxi around $50 from the airport or $40 from the city From a practical standpoint, it is best guest(s) have their own transport. Other Things to NoteThe house relies on it's own rainwater supply. The water is filtered, sweet, fresh and soft and usually plentiful.

    The SpacePerfect place to have a base from. Located on the ground floor of our two storey home is a bedroom with Queen Size bed; across from the bedroom on same level (entrance to house is what separates these two rooms) is a lounge and dining room and off that room is the bathroom (shower and loo) and laundry adjoins with a bench space which has all the kitchen appliances as mentioned below. Possible to use sofa bed however there is one entry to this lounge room that does not have a door. Ferny Grove is easy access to city via train to explore Brisbane and the surrounding suburbs. Also a perfect location to stay if you have a function or wedding to attend or family to visit in local area, Brisbane or nearby Samford Valley. I do access the passage way from front door to go upstairs so that may not suit everyone. I have priced room accordingly. At this point in time I can only offer tea, instant coffee. Milk and any other groceries items can be purchased at Coles which is walking distance - 5 mins. Guest AccessGuests are able to use Wi-Fi, laundry and off street parking. Basic cooking facilities combined with laundry are: tea/coffee making facilities, toaster, kettle, bar fridge, rice cooker, electric frypan and microwave. There is also a TV and dining table in the adjoining lounge and an outdoor dining table on the adjoining patio. NO AIR CON Pedestal fan only. Situated in a very quiet area in the heart of the Golden Valley at the foot of Camp Mountain, the unit is 5 minutes from Samford Village and 20 minutes drive from the magnificent Mount Glorious Lookout and National Park. Dine out at multiple nearby restaurants or dine in poolside or have an outdoor BBQ and fire pit (check with us re fire conditions , extra firewood and utensils available at minimal expense). If you want to cook there is a microwave, an electric frypan, cutting board, an egg boiler and a single hotplate with a small lidded saucepan. The drinking water is sweet tasting spring water, with rain water tanks as a backup. All waste water is recycled onto the gardens. The toilet is a bio-cycle , which also recycles onto the garden, so no foreign matter in toilet or sink please. The room is fully screened, has block out curtains (careful they are delicate) , ceiling fan, ceiling insulation , solar activated whirly birds and just in case has reverse cycle air con as well.     The SpaceThe Birder's Cottage sits about 100 metres from our residence - The Mountain House. Acre after acre of the surrounding native bushland is being lovingly restored to encourage native wildlife. Whether you are a keen naturalist or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life you can enjoy the abundance of birdlife including White-eared Monarch, Owlet and White-throated Nightjars, Wonga Pigeons and Emerald Doves. Mammals which are regulars to the property include Koala, Gliders, Wallabies and a colony of Brush-tailed Phascogales. There is one bedroom in the Cottage with either 2 singles or a queen bed and a couch in the living room that folds out to a full sized bed for flexibility in sleeping arrangements. The living space is open plan with sitting space, dining table and kitchen including full sized refrigerator and free standing stove unit. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk are provided plus you can find a few other staples in the kitchen. Enjoy an afternoon on your private porch or have a glass of wine on The Mountain House veranda with great views overlooking Cedar Creek. On clear days you can even see Morton Bay. Update - Based on guest feedback we have set up 'drips' in the forest to attract wildlife for photography. We now have 20 species of birds which regularly visit the water features. Guest AccessSit on the front porch or hike the 3 loop trails of over 4kms...private to the Mountain House and Birder's Cottage. A private gate limits access so you really need to like peace and quiet to love the Birder's Cottage! Interaction with GuestsWe love to meet our guests and have a chat but also respect your privacy. So, feel free to come up to The Mountain House if you need anything or for some conversation. Roger is a wealth of information of all sorts and a local wildlife nut. So, if you are looking for a place for a leisurely walk, more intensive hike or want to see the critters, just pick Roger's brain. He is happy to help with directions, mud maps to any target animals you may wish to target. He can provide you species lists too. The back veranda of The Mountain House is a great place to enjoy breakfast or dinner. On weekends Megan can provide a cooked breakfast or dinner and on weekdays, breakfast hampers can be provided (meals not included in room rate). Just let us know when booking. The NeighborhoodThe Mountain House sits on a ridgeline among acreage properties, so quiet and peaceful but also close to Mt Glorious, Samford Village, 15 min drive to the train line into Brisbane CBD (30 min train ride). Getting Around * Trains run from Oxford Park or Mitchelton train station every 15 mins (Tickets to the City and any inner city location (Zone 1) cost $4.66 during peak hour and $3.63 off peak) *Brisbane’s AirTrain service from the International and Domestic airport terminals normally depart every 15 minutes in peak periods and every 30 minutes in non-peak, Monday to Friday. All services on Saturday & Sunday operate every 30 minutes. You would need to change trains at Bowen Hills as the Ferny Grove line is the only one that comes out this way. There is access via the carport or road, through the garden to enjoy those views with strategically placed seating. The courtyards and front patio allow you to be comfortably 'outside' to relax with a book, or your iPad. D'Aguilar National Park can be accessed directly from the cottage to a range of 'fire', 'pony' and tramping trails. These lead out onto local, 'traffic sparse' roads. It can be your ‘get-away’, or a base for an action packed ‘change of scene’. Walking, cycling, wining and dining, or simply reading and relaxing in beautiful surroundings—yours to choose. ACCOMMODATION Fully furnished two bedroom cottage adjacent to, but separated from, the main house. Always available are breakfast cereal and milk, tea and coffee, as well as a home made frozen meal (curry and rice, or a spaghetti meat sauce) for late night arrivals. We are happy to put your dirty dishes through our dishwasher on special occasions, and have arranged a ‘box’ to facilitate this. With it is a notebook where messages (housekeeping type) can be left for us. There is the use of washing machine, clothes line and dryer if required. Professionally laundered bed linen and towels are provided, along with soap and other essentials. On the ‘Food’ side of things we encourage you to take advantage of the numerous Restaurants and Cafes in the Village and environs, or utilise the kitchen facilities to ‘do your own thing’. For ‘self-catering’, there is an excellent IGA in the village that stocks a wide range of gourmet food. Guest AccessThere is ample parking close to the entry of your accommodation. While doors may limit wheelchair accessibility to some rooms, the cottage is all on one level, and the immediate surrounds are flat and easily accessible. There is access throughout the lower level of the garden and the gully, with strategically placed seating, to enjoy the views . The courtyards and front patio allow you to be comfortably 'outside' to relax with a book, or your iPad. D'Aguilar National Park can be accessed directly from the cottage. With this in mind just a few things to explain how things work. It would be lovely if you could let us know a little about yourself and any guests you have with you (names etc). Also if you could give us some indication of times you intend to arrive and leave the accommodation, it then allows us to make sure we will be here to meet you and show you around. The cottage is set up as an independent space with no meals provided, however, we can provide breakfast hampers or late night homemade frozen meals (for you to re-heat) on arrival by arrangement. We expect that guests would take advantage of the many cafe's and restaurants nearby or would self cater. Your hosts are more than happy to discuss 'where to go and what to do' with you - or to respect your privacy. Please indicate your preferences. If at any time you suddenly have a need, or want to ask, or advise us of something, feel free to catch us on the run, or use the phone to call or leave messages. You will find 'tourist' information in the left hand door of the lounge room cabinet which should cover most needs such as 'where should we dine tonight?' - menus available, where to go for a drive or ' do they have Skirmish in Samford?' In the right of the white cabinet there is some historical memorabilia of the Vet Surgery Days, for those who may be interested. The NeighborhoodTOSCA adjoins the D’Aguilar National Park yet is only 20 km (25 mins) by car or train from Brisbane’s CBD, and a 5km walk, drive or cycle to Samford Village. Dayboro, Mt Glorious, Mt Mee, Redcliffe and Bribie Island are a leisurely drive away through picturesque forests and farmlands. Samford is well known for its restaurants, cafes, antiques, handcrafts, gift shops, museums, art galleries, bush walks, and cycle trails. Getting AroundThe trains leave every 15-25 minutes from Ferny Grove Station for a relaxing 25 minute trip into Fortitude Valley, the CBD or South Bank. Change at Bowen Hills for the Airport Train which links with both Domestic and International Airports. We are happy to meet trains, or collect longer term international visitors from the airport (conditions allowing) if required. The local Samford Shuttle Services company can arrange Airport and Portside transfers, Wedding or event transport, etc and can be contacted on (EMAIL HIDDEN) or ph (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) For local exploring, having your own vehicle would definitely be an advantage. Other Things to NoteWe are happy to welcome well controlled outdoor pets with consideration of the local wildlife and the knowledge that there are no fences . Occasionally you may find various consumables around, like drinks, nibbles, or even a spare new toothbrush (if you've forgotten yours). These are for you to use if you need to. In these cases please just leave the discarded bottle or wrapping on a bench so we become aware that it has been used and will need to be replaced. If you seem to have used many of these feel free to make a donation to the "Guide Dogs" . You should find spare pillows, bed linen, towels, cleaning gear etc, in the pantry off the kitchen. Also in this "old pharmacy' there will be an ironing board, please text or ring or advise beforehand if you need an iron and it can be supplied. Meals: Hopefully you will take advantage of the choice of restaurants and cafes available within easy reach, however, if you are wanting to stay in and cook up big, you should find all you need in the cupboards to do just that. We are happy to share most herbs (in the garden) and spices - just ask. To continue the 'holiday' theme, if you do do your own cooking, we are happy to do your dishes for you! Just put them in the "box" and put the box through the lattice door close to the house. We will put them through our dishwasher and get them back to you asap.
