As my family now live overseas I'm happy to share my lovely airy "tree house" on the river in Indooroopilly, just a 5 minute walk from Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, bus and train Station. The city is just a 10 minute journey away. I am a short walk away from the gym and swimming pool and located right opposite the Indooroopilly Canoe Club. 5 minutes to movie theatres, cafes, great restaurants, two local pubs and our gorgeous local Thai Style spa. Safe outside parking. The house is unique as it sits high on "poles" surrounded by massive blue gums overlooking our own creek and the Brisbane River. When people walk in the just say "Wow!" I have five wonderful neighbours and our houses surround a pretty European style courtyard. The house is on two levels with big decks on both levels, complete with hammock and BBQ. Upstairs has an airy living area with 3 comfy sofas, open plan kitchen, dining area and powder room. The lower level has 3 bedrooms, another sitting room, laundry and 2 bathrooms. TV's on both levels. The house is always cool in summer because of river breezes but has AC/heat in living areas and fans on remotes in all rooms. Wifi of course. The downstairs sitting room (with blue sofas) is for the unlimited use of guests who prefer to be private. I am an avid reader so plenty of books to choose from. You would be sharing with a semi-retired single woman and an enchanting Siamese cat called Isabella. If you want company....she's your girl! I love to read, watch TV, go to the movies, theatre, write, cook, travel, keep in facebook contact with family and friends. Have a life-long interest in the environment and saving our native species.

I live in a vibrant suburb in Brisbane. The high set house is located in a nice quite and leafy area overlooking lots of trees. It is at a walking distance from public transport and from the largest Shopping Centre in Queensland. I am a semiretired lady living on my own. My children live now abroad respectively in Milan and New York. SKYPE is a wonderful way of being in constant communication with them. I call Australia Home and I would be proud to share my enthusiasm for this Country with anyone who comes to visit. I teach English as a second language at in various schools and TAFE campuses on a casual basis. While I love spending time at home listening to beautiful music I can happily share meals, coffee and conversations with friends and people of all ages and cultures. I enjoy reading good literature, viewing a good film on TV or at the cinema. I find walking along the Brisbane River or at the park very relaxing. My purpose is to provide accommodation to people from other parts of the world and ensure their experience in a new country, Australia, is comfortable and memorable.

Retired couple (but not old) offer big house with 7 spare bedrooms, daughters moved out. With other students living here as well you will never be lonely, there will always be someone interested in you, especially us, your host family. We accept all nationalities, prefer students or travellers aged 18 to 35yo. We prefer long term stays but if rooms are available, short term bookings are accepted. We offer self-serve breakfast and a warm dinner every night if you wish, however if you want to cook for yourself, you are welcome to use our guest kitchen.

The suburb is surrounded by the winding Brisbane River, has fabulous Queenslander and post war timber homes, big blocks of land, leafy streets, numerous restaurants, a cinema, and a bit of a laid back community feel. This suburb is self-contained, appealing and not stuck up. Graceville is home to one of Brisbane's most beautiful streets, Laurel St, which has plenty of camphor laurel trees. This is a very safe suburb, with plenty of Queenslanders and interesting riverside properties. Getting Around5 mins walk to train station.

    The SpaceWe have a lovely roolm in a brand new house for one to two people. There is a very comfortalbe queen sized bed witha pillow matttress. You share a bathroom with one other person. There is a new kitchen with two ovens and induction cook top. A large pantry and large fridge. We are a easy going household. I am a professional person and my daughter is a university student. She visits her horse daily and is always happy to take you for a short ride. . We have a dog Zeus who resides outside and loves to be taken for walks and to retrieve balls and toys. We are very close to a very large shopping precinct. We expect that you keep your room tidy and clean and wash and reshelve all dishes used. You will have some pantry and firdge space to keep all your food. There are many restaurants nearby. The nearest bus stop is about 100 m away.You can catch bus 444 from king George Station in the city to Moggill rd Chapel Hill stop 28 then walk 600 m to Kate St. Or catch Bus 427 from Moggill Rd to Witton Rd near Kate St stop 29 and walk 100 m to 15 Kate St. Alternatively you can catch bus 445 at Broadway in city to stop 29 on Witton Rd and walk 100 m to Kate St.

    I live in an inner west suburb of Brisbane, close to all bus and train routes, and shops. The University of Queensland is close by, other university's are easily reached on public transport. You will have a room to yourself and use of the second bathroom/toilet. You are free to use the kitchen and/or share meals with me, I cook varied healthy meals. My family and grand children visit often.

We have everything you are likely to need for a short stay, including discount access to the local PT gym if you feel like a one on one workout, or join a group class that will test you to the limit! This year I stayed at an Airbnb in Tokyo and loved the experience, so I thought I might try it here. My partner Jess and I are happy friendly people, but we both have busy work lives. Love to meet all the guests in person. The NeighborhoodClose to the big suburban shopping centres, the Uni, great restaurants and very easy access to the city via a bus or the train. Local parks and typical Brisbane forest walks quite close by. I'll probably take you for a walk if you are keen! Getting AroundTrain and bus very close by. I can sometimes offer a pick up service from the airport at $50 one way $80 both directions. Enquire as to my availability. Otherwise, taxi here (or anywhere in Brisbane) are very expensive. You can use the airport train and the fee per person would be about $25 one way. Try the 'translink' website to check prices and estimate times for any journey bus or train. Other Things to NoteWe are a very quiet house! We take our shoes off at the door and respect the other members of the house, some of whom are going to be post grad students, really focussed on study. If you want to drink and make noise, let me know and I'll do that with you out the big back yard, fire up the pizza oven and have a blast! On average we have 4 -5 people staying here at any one time. It's a very large house! We love it here......

    The SpaceSet on 2 treed acres, so very tranquil and you feel as if you are amongst the tree tops. Guest AccessThe cottage has a very large lounge dining area with a kitchenette which has a bar fridge, microwave, electric frying pan, sink, kitchen equipment etc. It has its own bathroom with shower, wc and basin. There is also a deck on the front of the cottage. Interaction with GuestsWe try and take the lead from the guests here. The cottage allows guests to be completely separate but there is a shared entrance stair to a large outdoor patio area and then the cottage is to the left and the house is to the right. We will offer to share a drink, or a cup of tea or coffee but understand totally if guests would rather just keep to themselves. The NeighborhoodKenmore Hills is made up of residential housing as well as acreage properties. We have views to Mt Cootha which can be accessed by walking tracks and there are also mountain bike trails. There are 2 main shopping centres nearby with major supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, newsagents, banks etc. Getting AroundOn week days there is a bus service which runs half hourly and hourly on weekends. The bus stop is 5 minute walk from our house. If you drive to one of the local shopping centres (approximately 2 km from our house), the main road has buses every 15 minutes. Other Things to NoteOur driveway is on a bend so is easily missed. When you drive up Bielby Rd, our driveway is about 30 metres after a kangaroo sign on the left. If you arrive by car, drive all the way in and parking is available under the cottage.

    The SpaceOur house, located in the quiet inner city suburb of Taringa, is one of the original Queenslanders in the area, built in 1896. It has been extended and modernised in subsequent years without loosing the character. We are proud of our beautiful garden open each year under Open Garden Australia. Your room is located downstairs and has a comfortable queen bed, en suite, ceiling fan, desk/dressing table, bar fridge, chair and television. Your room is larger than the one photographed. Towels and toiletries are provided. The downstairs area opens out on to a swimming pool set in a beautifully landscaped terrace garden. You are welcome to use the swimming pool and additional towels will be provided for your use. You would be welcome to sit outside at the table under the umbrella on the middle terrace overlooking the pool having breakfast or for an afternoon or evening drink. Alternatively breakfast can be served upstairs. Breakfast includes tea/freshly ground espresso coffee, fruit, cereal and toast. You are welcome to relax in the sitting room upstairs at any time. There is wireless internet throughout the house for your use. The use of a washing machine and dryer is available upon request. Our house is very close to the CBD, 4km to the University of Queensland and less than 1km Indooroopilly shopping Centre (10 minute walk). Cinemas, shopping and a variety of restaurants and cafes are all within walking (website hidden) Peters and Brisbane Boys College are close by. The bus and train are very close, with a train ride to the city taking less than 15 minutes. The car trip from the airport via the Airport link tunnel is around 25 minutes, depending on traffic. We are close to Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens and it's many walking trails, as well as umerous parks. Lone Pine Sanctuary is close by. See our separate listing for a single room. The door across the passage opens into a bathroom consisting of a toilet, basin and shower and is exclusive to the king single room. We live upstairs. The downstairs area opens out on to a swimming pool set in a beautifully landscaped terrace garden. (Swimming towels provided). Our place is ideal for people visiting their family and friends in the neighborhood, for people considering moving to the area or for people who enjoy being close to nature. If you don't meet up with the Australian wildlife in our place, located just a 10 min drive from our house, you will find Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can cuddle koala's, kangaroos and pythons. Washing facilities are available along with an Iron and Ironing board. Free Wifi available. Unfortunately we do not have a dishwasher. Guest AccessThe bach is all yours during your stay! The NeighborhoodThe apartment is located at the base of Mount Coot-Tha. It is a quiet, green & hilly area with lots of gum trees & wild life. There are 2 little shopping centres close by, about a 2km or 5 min drive away, with little cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, hairdressers, pedicure places, etc. Getting AroundIt is very convenient to rent/have a car, when staying in our bach. We do have public transport. Bus 425 stops about 800m from our house at Bielby Rise and takes you to the Centre of Brisbane (via Indooroopilly Shopping Centre) or Kenmore village. Other Things to NoteIt is a very peaceful place and only the birds will wake you up!

My husband and I run our own businesses and work from home. We live on a family block with my parents and my sisters family living in the houses next door. The NeighborhoodWe are only 10km from the CBD of Brisbane but live in the most beautiful part of the world. The birdlife is wonderful. With many great walks around local park areas and along the river. Its a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is walking distance from our house. There is a farmers market every Wednesday. We are very close to a major shopping centre and Queensland University Getting AroundThere is a reliable bus service to the nearest big shopping centre and and bus / train interchange to get into the CBD.     The SpaceWelcome to my Riverfront Paradise close to the City! The Rooms and House: Spacious room facing N/E with a queen size bed that accommodates a single person or a couple. This bedroom is the most private of the three, with two separate doors and access to nearest bathroom outside the room. Entrance to bathroom is in the garden, but facilities are attached to the house. I assume the bathroom was built onto the original house for use of a person living downstairs and not having access to upstairs bathroom. It consists of separate toilet/basin and separate shower - two little rooms. The bedroom has two doors, separating it from the kitchen. My kitchen pantry is between two sets of doors, though I try to access it when guests are out. The house is in a leafy, quiet area, near park lands and river sports, and it's close to all amenities and transport. We have a large garden on riverfront. The house is in a safe and peaceful location. Parking- for guests with hire car or own car no undercover parking, but plenty of street parking in a quiet street There are three eating areas, the dining room, one on the patio, and one table setting in the garden. You can, of course, use the kitchen any time you wish and I can provide food for breakfast, for the first couple of days. During school terms, I begin my day early, and I am not available to assist guests with breakfast, though I may leave food for you, if you wish. Transport: City 15 mins away by bus or train. It is just 6 stops on the train into the city. House just 15 min walking from Chelmer train station. Amenities: Cafes, theatres nearby, internet available. There are playing fields nearby, golf course, Queensland Tennis Centre, rowing and sailing facilities. Activities: Cycling and walking paths, extensive parkland around the corner. Major shopping centre is across the bridge, lots of little shopping areas nearby. The NeighborhoodChelmer is an established suburb with many beautiful homes, some old, some new of various styles. My area is flat and faces East. On other side of the railway is the Western part of the suburb which is quite a different character. Two suburbs away - Sherwood - area becomes hilly. There is the Sherwood Arboretum along the river which is a huge park and above is a lookout over city and mountains. Down one street from house is popular cafe/gift shop. Local shopping area is Riverside Shopping Centre, 5 minutes by bike, about 15 minutes by foot. Enormous shopping complex is one suburb away, one stop by train or can be reached by walking, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. Getting AroundYou can walk on flat ground to train station - approx. 15 minute walk. There is bus stop at end of street, on major road, Oxley Road. Other Things to NoteI give piano lessons during school terms from home. I begin at 7 am - 8.30 am usually, then after school until 6 pm. Some morning lessons and afternoon lessons are given away from home. The sound is not usually loud as pieces are short and few notes are played at one time.

There will usually be at least one of us at home at all times. The NeighborhoodKenmore Hills is a very green leafy & hilly suburb of Brisbane. It is close to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Mt Coot-tha botanical gardens and the Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Gap Creek Reserve which is very popular with mountain bike riders and hikers is also close by - 5 minutes drive. Kenmore Village Shopping Centre is approx 1.3km walk from our house. It has a large supermarket, baker, butcher, fruit shop, liquor store, coffee shops, dress shops, library, bank etc..everything you need if you want to pick up some thing to cook for dinner. Kenmore Hills is approx. 20 minutes drive to the city centre (outside of peak hour traffic) and has regular bus services - refer below "Getting Around". Getting AroundThe major bus stop is approx a 1.5 kms walk from our home Bus service from the CBD every 15 minutes 6.45AM to 11.15PM (12.15am Fri/Sat) Bus Number 444 Our Bus Stop - Kenmore Central. We are happy to pick you up and drop you off here each day if you do not wish to walk. There is a closer bus stop on Brookfield Road (Bus 435) however the service is less frequent, approximately on the hour. Indooroopilly Railway Station is our nearest train station. It is about 7 - 10 minutes by car from our home. (i.e. not walking distance). You can however catch the bus to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and walk to the train station (3 -5 minutes walk). Brisbane is a big city spread over a large geographical area. It is best to have or hire a car to fully explore Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast & the Gold Coast. Other Things to NoteWe have a very friendly dog, Atticus, who is allowed inside the house. If you don't like dogs, this probably isn't the place for you. We are pretty easy going, however for our own security, we only accept bookings from guests with a complete profile, i.e. a clear photo and a little information about yourself.

    The SpaceI live in a street of only 13 homes in a quiet cul-de-sac. There are walking trails directly outside the front door, and in thirty minutes you can hike up the path on Mt Cootha to the cafe with stunning views of the city. Perfect for the traveller/tourist who wants to work/play by day, but relax in the evenings. The house is only 15 minutes drive to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, which is also a lovely little zoo. Also a pleasant 20 minute walk to a local pub, and it is less than ten minutes drive to no less than three major shopping centres! I'm not a morning person, but my guests are welcome to go for a hike, then cool off in the pool. There isn't a television in the guest room but I am more than happy to share my space and take the opportunity to get to know you! Guest AccessGuests can treat the house as their own home - they have a bedroom in the back corner of the house with sole use of main bathroom/toilet. Outside there are lots of places to sit and relax/read/have a drink. Interaction with GuestsAs much as they wish... I am a writer/public speaker so I work from home a lot. I have a barbeque area, and love having a steak and salad by the pool!! The NeighborhoodThe peace and tranquillity! I am only 4 minutes drive from a huge, up-market shopping precinct, (where there are buses and trains into the city) but my home is also an easy drive into the city.     The SpaceOur home is a gorgeous 1920's Queenslander which we renovated six years ago. We have a secure fence around the property, ideal for young families. The pool is securely fenced and keeps an average temperature of high 20's almost year round. Every room has air conditioning / heat pump and ceiling fans. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and walk in robe / with ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is brand new and is bordered on both sides by sliding doors. The front deck has comfortable lounge furniture and the back deck has an outside table for eating. We have a large backyard with beautiful landscaping. We are a five minute walk from the train station, with the train running every fifteen minutes to downtown Brisbane. The train trip takes fifteen minutes. Brisbane is sunny almost every day of the year. The house is walking distance to lots of restaurants and is a 5 minute drive to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, which is one of Brisbane's largest malls. Getting AroundThe major bus stop is approx a 1.5 kms walk from our home Bus service from the CBD every 15 minutes 6.45AM to 11.15PM (12.15am Fri/Sat) Bus Number 444 Our Bus Stop - Kenmore Central (We are happy to pick you up and drop you off here each day, if you do not wish to walk). There is a closer bus stop on Brookfield Road (Bus 435) however the service is less frequent, approximately on the hour. Indooroopilly Railway Station is our nearest train station. It is about 7 - 10 minutes by car from our home. (i.e. not walking distance), however you can catch the bus to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and walk down to the train station (approx 3 -5 minutes) if you wish to catch the train to/from the city or the airport. Brisbane is spread out over a large geographical area. To explore the area fully, it is best to have a car. Other Things to NoteWe have a very friendly dog, Atticus, who is allowed inside the house. If you don't like dogs, this probably isn't the place for you. There are some wonderful cafes, restaurants and cinemas within walking distance from our home. Getting AroundThe suburb is on the major western train line into the city, and two train stops are 8-10 minutes walk from our home. Buses are also available.       The SpaceOf the three bedrooms, two have double beds and one a single bed. The master bedroom has an en suite with a shower while the other bedrooms have a bath and shower with separate toilet and vanity area. Guest AccessThe house is situated in an elevated position in a cul-de-sac and access is via the footpath or driveway. No gates or fences to worry about and a motor vehicle can be parked in the driveway. The house has a deck overlooking the garden and brook at the back from which you can watch the wildlife by day and the moon rising by night. Interaction with GuestsAs the house is available in my absence, my son and his wife will be your host to welcome you and be at hand should you require anything. The NeighborhoodA quiet, safe neighbourhood where people look out for each other. There are a number of local coffee shops and eating places in and near the shopping centers in Kenmore. Getting AroundPlenty of unrestricted street parking in the area and 7 minutes walking distance from the bus stop and 10 minutes to Kenmore Village Shopping Center. Other Things to NoteGarbage bins are collected on Monday mornings and need to be placed on the sidewalk on a Sunday evening and then brought back into the yard on the Monday should you wish to have them emptied. Linen and kitchen ware are provided and the stove and oven are electric. There is also a dishwasher and front-loading washing machine in the laundry with a clothes line just out the back

      The SpaceThe apartments are spacious and equipped with all that you should need to enjoy a home cooked meal or even host a dinner party. Shops are in walking distance and public transport is almost on the door step. Guest AccessThere are 2 apartments each being for the exclusive use of the guests of each apartment. One apartment is on the ground floor and the other upstairs. There is a shared foyer and main front door. Each apartment then has its own door and the only interaction with other guests may be running into one another in the foyer area. The apartments are similar in layout with a few exceptions, the top floor apartment offers 2 balconies one at the front and one at the rear, whilst the ground floor one offers a spacious enclosed deck, providing additional living area. Getting AroundOne parking bay inside the property is available and there is plenty of street parking . Public transport is literally on the door step, shops are in walking distance. Other Things to NoteWe cannot guarantee which one of the 2 apartments will be allocated to guests for their stay, but we are sure that which ever one you stay in, you wont be disappointed.       The SpaceThere is one queen size bed in the bedroom. A second pull-out double sofa bed (with a thick mattress) is available in the living space. Could accommodate up to 4 people for short stays. Basic kitchen supplies of tea, coffee, sugar and milk will be left for you; plus juice, toast bread and cereal for your first breakfast. Guest AccessThe flat is downstairs from the main house, where we live. It has a separate lockable entry, so you're completely private. There is access to a small backyard and clothesline through your back door. The laundry is upstairs in the family home, but can be accessed on request and by arrangement. There is some 'muffled' noise from upstairs (footsteps on the floorboards) over the living area, but not the bedroom. Interaction with GuestsWe have had many visitors stay in our flat, and would love to let you know how to get places easily, and what there is to see and do in Brisbane. And at the end of the day, you can come back and have a dip in the pool (or maybe just laze beside it all day!) The NeighborhoodWe live in a quiet neighborhood. The St Lucia Golf Club with its gorgeous cafe and restaurant (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with views over the Course) is only 5 minutes walk away. There are numerous parks to walk through and picnic in. The University of Queensland is also only 10 minutes drive away. Getting AroundBuses leave from the bottom of our street. The train station is a 15 minute walk away. Other Things to NoteKIDS UNDER 12 STAY FOR FREE. Please just book as 2 adults and let us know if you have children who are happy to sleep on single mattresses on the floor (there is plenty of room in the bedroom to accommodate 2 extra mattresses).
