I live in Ashgrove, a lovely suburb very close to the City, with my young son Ruben. We enjoy gardening, movies, cooking and getting out and about in our lovely city. The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, homestay guests have their own ensuite bathroom. We have a nice verandah to enjoy the lush green surroundings. The house is across the road from the bus to the city, you will be there in 15 minutes. We also live around the corner from two lovely parks and the local creek with beautiful walking tracks. Major banks and shopping centres are just 5 minutes away. You will love the central location!

Our family live in. Brisbane, South East Queensland, in a suburb called Red Hill. What I love about this house, your room, and the location are as follows: 1. This house It is a traditional Wooden house called Queenslander which has been fully renovated three years ago into a beautiful 4 bedrooms and 3 bathroom house. It has a large kitchen-dining area that opens to a living room. Our family consist of me and my husband, Daniel, a teenager, and two toddlers, who very well mannered. My husband is a chef, and I am a good cook, so food in this house is always lovely and tasty. Our family is still young and we both love company and chat over a beer or coffees. We love to share experiences and stories. We loves movies, and video games and karaokes. We have whole heaps of DVDs that are available to lend. We also likes going to parks, especially the one with playgrounds, and have BBQ. 2. Your room The room is fabulous! It it designed with its own entrance from outside (so you don't have to go through the front door if you have late nights), and also from inside. It has a large modern ensuite with large vanity, window, shower room and toilet inside. The room has a small window, king single bed with study table, large mirrored wardrobe and completed with a tv cabinet with digital set top-box and a DVD player and a luxury air-condition. 3. Locations This house is nothing but locations, locations, locations!!! Less than a minute to walk to the bus stop that will bring you straight to either train station or the city. Less than 2km to Brisbane CBD. Need a feed? If you go up the road, it will lead you to Less than 5minutes walk to local shop (post office, 7-11, late open chemist and take-away restaurant). If you go down the road, it will lead you to the Urban Village Kelvin Grove less than 7minutes, with big-chain supermarket, and a long road of restaurants and cafés. Also, every Saturday morning, there's a markets being held there. It is also only 7 minutes walk to the famous nightclub Normanby Hotel. Who needs a taxi if you live here. The Urban village Kelvin Grove is also part of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) area. It is only less then 10 minutes walk to Kelvin Grove State College too.

The SpaceI share my place with a lively border collie-cross kelpie, Abby. She loves humans, chasing a ball is her idea of heaven and is a mainly outside dog (allowed only downstairs when there is someone at home). She may be a little protective of the house but strangers soon become her best friends, when they know her name and treat her with something yummy. My two-level townhouse is in Red Hill about 10 minutes bus trip to the CBD. The complex was built in the 80's so there is a lot of privacy, tall trees, birds and breezes. On the top floor, there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the ground floor: kitchen, dining and living rooms, laundry and the guest toilet. Large glass door leads to a patio, with a sitting area, hammock and a gate to a shared pool. The guest bedroom has a comfortable double bed, so although it can sleep two, I would not recommend it for longer stays for more than one person. There are fly screens, a ceiling fan, built-in wardrobe and a set of drawers which opens up into a desk. The guest bathroom has the original tiles but the shower has been replaced. There is a cupboard for your toiletries. I provide towels and fresh bedlinen. Kitchen has a gas stove with fan-forced oven, microwave oven and a dishwasher. During your stay you are welcome to use the pots and dishes, I just ask that you put them away after use. I will provide some basics for the guest: milk, bread, peanut butter, some fruit. There will be tea and coffee as well. There is a small TV - I do not use it that much, and a stereo. You are welcome to use those, as well as wifi for the internet. Although the immediate area is quite suburban, there is a short walk to shops in Ashgrove or Newmarket and the lovely Paddington is only few blocks away. There you can enjoy various cafes, boutiques and art galleries. The Kelvin Grove QUT campus is about 20 minutes walk away. Bus to the city and Roma St Transit Centre is just up the road from the complex. If you happen to have a car you can park it under spare car port. Guest AccessKitchen, laundry, shared pool, carport.

The SpaceMy place is a one-bedroom apartment. You can use the whole place except my bedroom as I am not in Australia. It is small but warm place as I decorate this apartment elaborately with all those cosy furnitures. You can have a nice dream on my comfortable sofa bed. You can cook a delicious meal. Or you can do nothing and enjoy the sunshine of Brisbane in the morning. Every Saturday, you can visit and shop in the weekly market. Guest AccessDuring your staying, you can use the whole apartment except my bedroom as there are some personal belongings inside and I wish to keep it private. So as I trust you to be my guest, do not step in it without my permission. Interaction with GuestsI won't be in Brisbane when my place is available, so my friend, also my neighbor Christy will assist me to pass the key, take care of my home and other stuff for me. I will send you her contact number. Therefore, if you had any questions, don't hesitate to contact with me or her. She will try her best to help you. But please understand that she is in a busy semester, she might not reply you very quickly. Christy will check my place occasionally to ensure everything is fine. Usually she will come after 3:00p.m. She will inform you in advance and if it is inconvenient for you, please let her know. The NeighborhoodMy home is in the area called Kelvin Grove. There are lots of living facilities around the building. Just 3 minutes walk to supermarket and you can find a few restaurants which are quite nice as well. It will be really convenient for travelers. You can visit one of QUT campus nearby as well. QUT is one of the most famous universities in Queensland. I will recommend you to visit the Creative Industry faculty as I am a student of it. Brisbane is a quite beautiful and relaxing city. You can visit Queen Street for shopping and having delicious food from different countries. Remember to download APP called Zomato, you can find some great restaurants. Also have a walk in South Brisbane. You can see the view of Brisbane river. There are also some museum in that area with some exhibitions or performances for free. There are two bus stations nearby and it will just take you a few minutes to travel to the most flourishing area. You can also take a cab or call uber, won't be expensive. If you had a car, you would find some car spaces on the street, but it should be charged some fee. I am very sorry because I have rented out my carpark to someone else. Other Things to NoteFor the kitchen, you could definitely do some cooking if you want. But remember, you must clean it as soon as possible. Open the door of the balcony and turn on the range hoods when you cook, otherwise the fire alarm will ring. Please wash all the dishes and clean the sink as soon as possible. I guess you don't want to have wired smell in the space. All the appliances, including dishwasher, oven, rice cooker, toaster, kettle and even coffee machine, can be used, but please confirm you can use them correctly. You might be charged if they went wrong due to your incorrect use. For the bathroom, try to keep it dry and clean as well. After taking shower, you should mind the wet floor or it will be easy to slip. Do not throw anything except toilet paper in the toilet and do not throw hairs to all the drains. For the laundry, you can use washing machine and dryer, also confirm you could use them correctly. For the wardrobe in the living room, you can open it when you need tissue or toilet paper, but do not rummage other items in it. If you need some medical help, just ask Christy. For other areas, please take care of the wall and all furnitures. Especially the wall, if it has been carved, I would be forfeited.

The SpaceI'm lucky to have the best-positioned apartment in a new building. I'm on the top floor at the back of the block where it's nice and quiet. Sunrise and sunset are the best times of day to appreciate the rolling hills of Brisbane with views across local area and out to Mount Coot-tha. The apartment is well-designed and I keep things simple and uncluttered. Your bedroom features a brand new queen bed, large built-in wardrobe and a small desk—perfect if you need to catch up on work or study. Guest Access- Private bedroom - Private bathroom Shared: - Living room - Balcony with outdoor dining - Kitchen - Laundry closet Interaction with GuestsI work full-time and keep pretty busy. Even though I'm not often home, don't hesitate to call or send me a message if you need anything. The NeighborhoodKelvin Grove and adjoining Herston are two of Brisbane's most attractive suburbs. My apartment is walking distance from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH), Ballymore and Victoria Park Golf Course. Nearby, the Kelvin Grove Urban Village has cafes, a supermarket, and hosts one of the best Saturday Farmers Markets in Brisbane. If you miss the Saturday markets, the Northey St Organic Markets happen every Sunday just a short distance away. Take a look at my Guidebook for more! Getting Around[UBER] I love Uber, and taking one to the City or Valley costs less than $10. If you're new to Uber ask me for a referral and your first trip will be free! [BUS] There's a bus stop at the end of my driveway. The bus will take you to the City or Fortitude Valley where you can connect to all other transport. However, because it's a local service, busses from this stop usually only depart every 30 minutes and don't run late in the evening. There are two bus hubs that you can walk to: QUT Kelvin Grove Station and Herston Station (see map). Busses from these stations depart every few minutes, and operate until midnight. Allow 30 mins to get to the City by bus from my place. See the 'Translink' website to plan your journey and for ticket prices. [TRAIN] If you would prefer to take the train, Wilston Station is a relaxed 2km walk from my house (see map). [WALKING] If the sun isn't too hot outside, you can of course walk to the City. However: be prepared for the exercise! Brisbane has many hills. As a rough estimate, the CBD is 45 mins away by foot (3.4km). The Valley is 30 mins away (2.5km).
