The large lounge/dining room open plan has a pull out double bunk which folds back into a cupboard , allowing maximum space uterlization. Large sliding doors open onto a balcony on which you can enjoy the sunrise over the sea or sip cocktails while taking in the spectacular views of the sun setting over the African sky. When the sun has set, the view changes to a fantasy picture as all the city lights sparkle and the moonlight reflects off the sea. The large kitchen is fully equipped including washing machine and dryer and is stocked with beautiful crockery and cutlery to enjoy meals while taking in the breathtaking views. Secure lock up garage on premises includes use of boogie boards, beach umbrellas and chairs. The beach is a few minutes drive, or short walk, where surfing, wind-surfing, kite flying, para-surfing, sun tanning and swimming are all popular activities on the kilometer stretch of beach. The apartment is conveniently situated close to a shopping centre, malls, restuarants and the city of Durban is 30 minutes drive which is home to the Moses Mabida Soccer stadium, Ushaka Marine World and many other sites. Doonside is however, a quiet coastal town and the apartment is surrounded by lush bush which is frequented by Vervet monkeys and indigenous birds. Other Things to NoteThis elegant ground floor apartment has 2 bedrooms, and sleeps a maximum of 6 people. The apartment is equiped with full DSTV and limited wi fi as an additional cost, please query the cost. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and the other a shower. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle, oven and stove. The lounge opens up onto a small patio with a webber braai and has partial side sea views. The swimming pool, baby pool and communal braai area is shared with the adjacent complex, Boulder Bay. The complex has a single carport for your vehicle. Please note that an SUV will not fit into this parking bay but there is alternative guest parking is available in the complex only 20 meters from the apartment. The complex is accessed by remote control. Please bring your own beach towels. Please note no chidren under the age of 8yrs are allowed. Walking distance to top local restaurants, shops and medical centre, clubs and pubs.

The SpaceThis house is not close to the beach... it is ON the beach. You can watch your kids from the deck of the house. The daily rate for the first guest in a unit is R500.00 with an additional R120.00 being charged for each additional adult and R75.00 for each additional child. The SpaceOur light and airy cottage is spacious and comfortable and has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a king sized bed. Both rooms have French doors that lead onto the patio and pool. The light and airy bathroom has a skylight and a view of the ocean over the sparkling pool while you shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and towels are provided. In the kitchenette, equipped with a fridge/freeze, microwave, kettle and toaster, you will find everything you may need including tea, instant coffee, milk and sugar. Beach towels, a hair dryer and other toiletries you may have forgotten are also provided. You are even welcome to use our beach umbrella and chairs. Our housekeeper will happily come in daily (except Sundays and public holidays) to make beds and tidy up for tips. Guest AccessThe cottage is adjacent to the main house. Each unit has it's own private entrance, facilities and therefore privacy is assured. There is safe, secure parking directly outside each unit. Because of parking and noise considerations we do not allow visitors. However, very closeby, there are several coffee shops, pubs and restaurants where you can meet your friends. Thompsons Bay beach is a 5 minutes stroll through the beautiful complex, and a security gate offers direct access to the beach. This is a safe swimming beach with life guards on duty, shark nets, showers and toilet facilities. Santorini also offers direct access to a small, semi-private beach through the famous hole-in-the-wall rock. There is also a beautiful tidal pool. The apartment. Is situated 5 minute walking from the main beach and 7 minutes from a private beach and consists of 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people. We are 20 minutes drive from Durban City Centre (and Ushaka Marine World), 20 minutes from Durban beaches, 30 minutes from Umhlanga beaches and 5 minutes from local shops and restaurants. The climate offers a welcome change from the heat and humidity of Durban due to Winston Park's elevated position at 500m above sea level. It is reputed that this area has one of the healthiest climates in the world! The property borders the Giba Gorge which offers a mountain bike trail, walking trail and birding opportunities. There are lovely views from the garden.     The SpaceThis lovely 5 bedroom, 3-bathroom house has 4 double beds, 3 single beds and 2 bunk beds. Four of the five bedrooms have sea views as does the lounge. There is a great outdoor entertaining area also with amazing sea views as well as a pool (netted) and deck. There is a separate servants quarters and we are pet friendly. The house is situated in a large, rambling subtropical garden which is home to over 50 species of birds and is ideal for both children and dogs to play in. The house comes with linen and a full set of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There are two fridges, a stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. It is set up, cleaned and prepared by a maid prior to your arrival, this is included in the above quoted rate. The maid is available daily upon request at an additional R120 pd. At certain times of year you can watch whales and dolphins in the bay from the deck. It is situated 40 minutes drive south of Durban in between the coastal towns of Umkomaas and Scottburgh in a small slice of heaven known as Clansthal. The Clansthal Conservancy is part of the Aliwal Marine Protected Area. Clansthal has a semi-private beach and is home to the world-class surf spot of Greenpoint and the highly popular Aliwal Reef dive site, which is located 5 kms directly offshore. The Clansthal Beach House boasts incredible views over Greenpoint and the Shoal. The house is walking distance to the beach (150m). The sea temperature is warm year round and ideal for bathing, diving, surfing and snorkeling (20-25 degrees Celsius). There is a quaint maritime pub (400m) called The Chief's Cabin (with dstv) just down the road. The house is located approximately 1.5kms from The Greenpoint Lighthouse. You are a 5km drive from Scottburgh and Umkomaas both of which boast golf courses and have all the modern shops (Woolies, P'nP, Spar), fast internet etc. The Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve is a 15-minute drive away and you are conveniently located between the launch sites of Umkomaas, Scottburgh and Park Rynie.

    The SpaceOur cottage is a refuge from the outside world. As such, there is no internet and little cell coverage, with emphasis placed on days at the beach and sea views from the deck. We have kept it this way because of the rich history that surrounds it. The town is named after our family as recognition to the contributions they made to the development of the area after immigrating to South Africa in 1850, building roads, railways and harbours. This history is well documented in a book written by Denzil Bazley in 2000, a copy of which can be found at the cottage. Subsequently, the cottage was one of the first built in the area. It naturally is rustic, with a corrugated roof, no ceiling and old finishings. While we are in the process of making the place more comfortable, this rustic element is one that we embrace. We hope you do to! Guest AccessThere is direct access to the beach via a bush path with rock pools in front of the cottage, 200 metres away and access to Mdesingane “private” beach Our cottage sleeps up to 8: Two rooms with double beds (sea-facing) and one “dorm room" with two single beds and a double bunk bed There is a full kitchen with sufficient crockery and cutlery for at least ten guests plus a washing machine and tumble drier to help with longer stays. It is a quite place where more often than not you will have the entire beach to yourself, with the air scented with molasses from the sugar (email hidden)ere is a small shop and bottle store at the MacNicols Caravan park (2kms) with more to be found in Scottburgh (20kms). While Bazley has historically had the lowest incidents of break-ins in the area, one must still exercise the same due caution as one would anywhere. The beach, accessed by a private gate, is a few minutes' walk from the apartment and offers excellent fishing off the beach, safe swimming in shark-net protected waters, blissful sunbathing and endless sand-castle building opportunities. The lagoon at the mouth of the Lovu River is a haven for bird-watching and canoeing. The complex has 24-hour security, undercover parking for one vehicle, plus ample open parking for visitors. The main coastal highway is out of view and earshot, but is 10 minutes' drive away offering easy access to some of South Africa's top game parks, dive sites, nature reserves, golf courses and other coastal attractions. The NeighborhoodDurban is 48km (25 minutes drive) north of Illovo Beach and abounds with leisure facilities including uShaka Marine World, Durban Harbour and Yacht Marina, beachfront stalls selling traditional arts and crafts, Durban's Golden Mile, Sun Coast Casino, the International Convention Centre, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Greyvillle Race Course and Kingsmead Cricket Stadium. Two hours drive north of Durban are the exciting wildlife and safari destinations of KwaZulu Natal including Hluhluwe-iMfolozi and iSimangaliso Wetland Park (The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park). The reserves boasts a fantastic cross section of wildlife and have some of the best game viewing in the country.

    The SpaceThis private and charming cottage is perfect for your affordable vacation. It is a one bedroom attached house with stunning seaviews from its own patio. It is only 2 minutes to the beach and only 20 minute drive from downtown. Take a break from a busy city life. Also enjoy access to the shared pool and BBQ (braai) area. Set up like a beach cottage, we are located on the Bluff, a suburb in Durban. This space consists of an open plan lounge which includes a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and a fully furnished kitchen. The cottage leads on to its own private patio and garden with a wonderful 180 degree sea view. Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool and shared BBQ area which in Durban can be easily enjoyed during winter. The place is attached to a main house, but separated by the white picket fence for your own privacy. Besides what is listed above, we have off-road gated parking for a sedan-sized vehicle. There is access to free wi-fi. There is a convenience store across the road (with laundry facilities), and a mini-grocery store which is less than a two minute drive. The property is also serviced by both municipal and private bus routes. Guests are welcome to enjoy as much privacy as they would like. We also live next door in our own house and are available should you need assistance during your stay. The Bluff has its own unique history and is the gem in Durban. It has some of the finest beaches in the area and can feel more like some tropical island spots than urban centres. The place overlooks the Indian Ocean and there is quick access to one of Durban's best kept secrets. There are rockpools for snorkelling with tropical fish, world class surfing and unspoilt beaches for summer walks. This quiet Bluff neighbourhood is peaceful and the spacious area takes away the rush of the busy city life. We are only 15 minutes away from downtown and from the main university campus. This cottage is part of the Bluff's fishing heritage, once home to Norwegian whalers and remains near the old whaling station, now derelict but still a fascinating place to visit. A five minute drive can also take you to the Green Dolphin restaurant or Heidi's Cafe at Anstey's Beach as well as the local shopping mall and gym. The property is serviced by municipal and private bus routes. There is off-road parking behind its own electric gate, suitable for a small vehicle only. Otherwise parking can be found on the verge outside the property. We have two dalmatians that are lovable. They stay next to the cottage entrance, and they are happy to keep a nightly vigil for you. The NeighborhoodOur holiday home is nestled on the rare piece of virgin land, which is more like our own mini wild subtropical jungle - through the back door! The property is a home to a number of very old trees housing 100’s of different varieties of small wildlife. Woodpeckers and Purple Crested Laurie’s are common visitors and can be observed all year around. Green Pidgins spend every May here! A family of mongooses settled here long before us, so we try not to disturb them. Please don’t leave your food left overs outside overnight; because they will wake you up, they have their breakfast at sunrise :))) Getting Around15 minutes from the King Shaka airport. You have to have your own transport. We offer 1 single lock-up garage ( very narro(URL HIDDEN)open parking area in a very steep driveway, ( you don't need a 4X4 but you need to be an experienced driver ). Regret, no public transport! Other Things to NoteThe cottage is at once rustic, simple and contemporary, sunny, airy, cool, charming and romantic. Botha lounges have stacking doors that completely open onto the wooden deck overlooking the ocean below. There is a built in barbecue on the deck, dining table that seats 8, perfect outdoor setting :) the cottage is fully equipped incl. high quality linen and towels and fully serviced by arrangement.

    The SpaceThis beautiful modern Apartment with slight sea and park views, is situated in a former hotel Block. The public areas of the building has maintained it's antique decor which lends a certain charm and nostalgia of it's former hotel days.The Block is now partly utilised for holiday accommodation and the other part as Retirement Residence. The apartment is perfect for couples, solo travelers, those who want to be in the City without the hassle of having to rent a car, or for those who enjoy their own space and a sense of home when abroad. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you would need just bring yourself and your good attitude! The warm Indian ocean and the pristine golden beaches are on your door step just one block away!!The apartment is also close to the city center: just 1 km away, and it normally takes about 35 minutes to reach the airport. With its convenient location, the suite offers easy access to the city's must-see destinations. The area itself is very viby and gets noisy during weekends and vacation periods. Guest AccessThe room is equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, basic crockery and cutlery, aircon, telephone, tv (ten channels), safe, steamer, towels and linen. Wi-Fi in public areas of the Apartment Block. Rooms are serviced daily. The Apartment Block also has 24 hr security and limited front desk(Mon-Fri:8am-5pm, Sat&Sun:8am-12pm), laundry services, a bar, restaurant and a swimming pool and lifts. No Smoking in the room. Interaction with GuestsDoreen will assist with the checking in and out of guest and she will also handle any inquiries and anything else that guest may need. Kindly give your estimated time of arrival when booking so that Doreen knows when to expect you. I am more than happy to assist guest with advice of where to go and what to do when in sunny Durban. Although I do not live in the Apartment Block I do assist with check in to meet and greet guest's when I can. The NeighborhoodThe Apartment is situated along Durban's down town beach area, one block away from the beach with plenty of restaurants and entertainment. It's summer all year round in Durban so the beaches have shark nets making for safe bathing and surfing. Why not learn to surf as there are many experienced surfers along the beach front offering surfing lessons. There is a supermarket next door and offers most items. They also have an ATM, Lottery machine and offer Mango air tickets for local travel. The following places of interest are in close proximity to the Apartment: SunCoast Casino and Entertainment World Ushaka Marine World Moses Mabhida Stadium The Old Fort Museaum Mr Price King’s Park Rugby Stadium and the Kingsmead Stadium The Natal Playhouse entertainment theatre situated in the City Centre Amphitheatre Flea Market Wilsons Wharf Durban Botanic Gardens are a few minutes’ walk from the bustling Warwick Triangle, site of one of the largest retail medicinal plant markets in the country. The Gardens hosts thousands of visitors per year, many of whom are foreign tourists. Getting AroundBuses: The People Mover’s is much better and cheaper public transport and the bus stops right outside the Apartment. It’s route is in and around the city centre only. Rates are R5 per trip or R15 per day. bus departs every 15 minutes from 6:30-23:00. Metered Taxi: There are many of these parked outside the Apartment charging various rates and some can be very unreliable. I recommend guest to phone Eagle Taxi or Zippy Cabs who are reliable, safe, reasonable and offer a 24 hour service. Mini Bus: This is also a cheap way to get around the city centre and outside neighborhoods but beware as occupants are squeezed in and the mini buses usually play very loud music. It is however a very African transport experience! Airport Shuttle: The airport shuttle operates to and from the airport, leaving every hour. The bus will collect you from the Apartment and rates are R80 per person. Collections must be booked in advance. Other Things to NoteUnfortunately no children are allowed to stay at the Apartment. There is a clinic in the block providing for First Aid Kit. There is a paid car park across the street or free street parking across the street from the Apartment. Please give at least one day notice for bookings as we have many walk ins.

    The SpaceThis large wooden 3-bed house (feels like a large treehouse) is set within the marine reserve of Umdloti. Built on a steep dune covered with protected Milkwood trees and coastal forest, it's a truly beautiful and rare spot. If you're looking for peace and quiet it is the place to chill. No TV, no noise except the ocean...Hammocks, and 180 degree ocean views ensure you get a relaxing atmosphere. The dolphins can be spotted on most mornings. There are around 200 stairs to get up to the private lodge... It's quite a walk but it's worth it when you're at the top looking at the stunning Indian ocean, among the amazing trees. PLEASE NOTE this before booking as elderly or physically-challenged people may struggle. There is no TV or any posh finishes; it's a rustic experience but well equipped. The kitchen has modern appliances, touch top hob and oven, microwave and a dishwasher. Monkeys, the red forest duiker and lots of bird life surround the area. ...Best part, it's just down the stairs to the beach!! The beach is dog friendly and there are lovely walks to the rock pools, the lagoon and the tidal pool. Basic amenities: (big) bar fridge, electric touch top stove, microwave and an oven make this a well equipped but simple kitchen. Webber kettle braai is also included. Simple cutlery and crockery, glasses, mugs etc all provided. Two bathrooms. One with a bath and the other with a shower. All very basic. The wooden self-catering lodge is thatched and rustically charming. If you're looking for modern and sleek, this is not your type of place. The photo's show you exactly how it looks. If you're looking for an escape to enjoy the basics, natures' beauty and after some P&Q you can't go wrong. Parking is street parking - two cars can park easily. No garages available. Umdloti is regarded as a safe, coastal town and a gem of the North Coast. Fine dining and a few cafes just along the road. A beautiful swimming beach (large tidal pool) and some epic surf spots. Spot the whales from August through to October and dolphins are seen on most days throughout the year. Ten minutes from the airport and around ten minutes to Umhlanga. Laundromat down the road, grocery store and petrol/filling station within a 3 minute drive. Our neighborhood is fantastic. Walk/run to the crashing waves. Have an ice cream or sip on a cocktail. Wear what you like - and you won't be (URL HIDDEN) why we love Durb's, better still, Umdloti! (Although the beach is on your door step and there are restaurants within walking distance, it is best to hire a car or have some form of transport arranged. Musgrave is a suburb within the greater Berea. The Berea is one of the Durban's upmarket suburbs. Built on a ridge rising from the city centre, most of Berea overlooks the sea and harbour as well as Greyville Racecourse surrounding the prestigious Royal Durban Golf Course. From many points there are also views of the magnificent Botanical Gardens, Kingsmead Cricket Ground and King's Park rugby and other sports stadiums. Durban must be the only city in the world with so many recreational amenities bordering its CBD! So there is little wonder that Durban's Berea is much sought after as a residential area as well as by visitors who prefer to stay in sedate suburbia but want easy access to the tourist hotspots. Berea is also favoured by business executives visiting Durban. They have many comfortable B&B guesthouses and lodges to choose from, as well as self-catering cottages and apartments. Many of them are within walking distance of Musgrave Shopping Mall, which includes several cinemas. Berea also boasts a broad selection of excellent restaurants.

      The SpaceThe house is secure and private... It is a simple 2 bed, 1 bathroom house. Nothing fancy but a great place to chill out. Each bedroom has its own balcony with sea views and they are both air conditioned. There are modern shutters on all the openings, which means you can leave the doors open but still be private (and keep the little monkeys out which can cause havoc stealing food, albeit they are very cute). The kitchen has granite tops and a dishwasher, washing machine, stove and oven. One simple bathroom with a shower, toilet, bath and basin. Includes WiFi and DSTV (full satellite television) . The hosts lock some cupboard for storage of their personal items. Please respect this. 2 street parkings in front of garages (pls note the garage is not available for use).
