The SpaceScrubtide is perfect for two families, family reunions and small retreats because it has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two very well separated areas (see floor plan). Two rooms are furnished with queen sized beds, one of them has an ensuite. One room is furnished as a dedicated kids room and contains a bus-shaped bunk bed and a single bed. Another room has two single beds. Two more single beds are in a separate section of the lounge room (no door). Note that this is an old house, not a new premium property. But all the furniture is new (early 2014) and we have undertaken major renovations in the second half of 2014 (new roof, new ceilings throughout, new down lights, new ducted air conditioning, new septic tank). The bathrooms have not been renovated. They are perfectly functional, but the tiles are very retro ... we love them, so we just cannot get ourselves to replace them with modern white ones. Mobile connectivity in this area is bad. But we are connected to the NBN and offer guests free wireless internet. We are happy to accommodate large groups of adults if you are planning genuine family reunions or you are attending a wedding and want a nice reasonably priced local place to stay. But we do not accommodate large groups of people who intend to hold parties at Scrubtide. The Scrub is a pristine, natural area, the beauty of which is that is secluded and quiet. Parties disturb neighbours and are strictly prohibited. Scrubtide is perfect for couples, families and groups of friends who would like to enjoy the peace and quite of the Scrub. The price is for up to 4 adults with (unlimited) children, extra adults $35 per night. Airbnb does not separate children from adults so please enter number of adults only and send me in your message the full number of adults and children so you do not get overcharged. Thanks. The price assumes BYO towels, tea towels and bed linen. WHAT WE LOVE TO DO MOST: (1) Chill out at the pool! (2) Go bush walking, bird watching and kangaroo spotting in the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park (10 seconds walk) (3) Build sand castles and cool off in the car-free area of Silver Sands Beach ..... or go for a drive on the beach! (4) Have a BBQ and a glass of McLaren Vale wine in the courtyard. (5) Explore the beauty, wines and produce of the Mc Laren Vale region (5) Enjoy spectacular views with dinner at the Star of Greece or the Victory Hotel (6) Shop at the Aldinga Central Shopping Centre (8 minutes drive) (7) Shop, wine and dine in downtown McLaren Vale (15 minutes drive) (8) Admire the old buildings in the historic township of Willunga and - on Saturdays - shop at the Willunga Farmers Market (15 minutes drive) (9) Ride the horse drawn tram over the bridge at Victor Harbor (40 minutes drive) (10) Go to a museum in Adelaide (45 minutes drive) Guest AccessBEST ACCESS. Acacia Terrace is split up in sections, so you cannot drive all the way through. Best if you come via NORMAN ROAD, turn right onto THE ESPLANADE, turn right onto WATTLE STREET, then turn right onto ACACIA TERRACE. KEYCODE. Upon booking you will receive the keycode for Scrubtide. You will find two sets of keys in a little key safe. One will include the house key only, the other one the house key and the pool safety gate key. We usually have that locked when nobody is at Scrubtide, but you obviously do not have to lock it every time. CHECK IN / CHECK OUT. Check in time is 2 pm, check our time is 10 am. EARLY ARRIVAL / LATE DEPARTURE. If nobody is booked in immediately before or after you, you are most welcome to arrive as early as you would like and leave as late as you would like. If you would like to do that, please get in touch closer to the date of the visit so we can let you know if any last minute adjacent bookings have come in. At the 2011 Census, Aldinga Beach had a population of 9,697. The Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park is located within the southern extent of the suburb and on land in the adjoining suburb of Sellicks Beach. The Aldinga Reef aquatic reserve is a protected area located immediately offshore of both Aldinga Beach and Port Willunga. It was declared in 1971 to protect ‘aquatic plants and animals associated with the large intertidal limestone reef and the spectacular precipitous underwater cliff known as the ‘drop-off’ and the surrounding sandy substrate for the purposes of education and recreation’. The activities of fishing and the collection or removal any marine organism are prohibited, while the following activities are permitted - use of boats, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and walking on the intertidal reef exposed at low water. The reserve extends seaward a distance of about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) around a headland named Snapper Point from Thomas Street, Aldinga Beach in the south to Seaborne Avenue, Port Willunga in the north. Source: Wikipedia (URL HIDDEN) Getting AroundThere are busses which can get you close to Scrubtide, but to be honest: if you want to make the most of your stay you are better off with a car. Other Things to NotePOOL. Private saltwater swimming pool on site. The pool is professionally maintained by the local pool shop. The pool also has an automated chlorinator which measures the pool chemistry every day and adjusts the production of chlorine if required. So you never need to worry about pool chemistry! But there is no daily pool cleaning service like in a hotel, so you will almost certainly need to do some leaf scooping. Note also that - during the Australian winter months - it is too cold for swimming. Information for parents and carers: the pool area only has one entry point: a gate between the garage and the main house. This gate is secured with a child lock. NEVER leave children unattended in the pool area. The SpaceLocated a 45 minute drive from central Adelaide, there are public transport options available however the property is ideally suited to someone with their own transport. It is a short drive, walk or bike ride to the renowned Star of Greece Cafe overlooking the stunning Port Willunga beach, and a 10 minute drive to the historic township of Willunga which features a vibrant Farmers market on Saturday mornings & a monthly local Artisans markets plus plenty of lovely eateries including Russell's Pizza. There are lots of walking trails through the nearby Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park to bush walk and bird watch and during summer months kangaroos can often be seen when out walking at dawn or dusk. About South Australia: South Australia is home to long summers, stunning beaches and award-winning wine, events and festivals. Winter natural walks along the Onkaparing river or kayaking along the Onkaparing river Snorkeling on the Aldinga Reef Fishing on the beach or just the picturesque drive through the hills to Victor Harbour or via Myponga reservoir to Yankallila. There is just so much to do to enjoy your holidays.

This two storey family holiday house is only steps away from the beautiful Silver Sands Beach. A spacious deck gives you a view over the rolling hills and a place to enjoy a meal and watch for kangaroos. On the upper level is the modern well-equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge, two bedrooms and the deck. The main bedroom has a Queen size bed, the second bedroom has two single beds. On the ground level is the modern toilet-shower, laundry and bedroom with two single beds. All linen, bed doonas and pillows are supplied. You will need to bring your own beach towels unless you make prior arrangements. The SpaceCasuarina Cottage suits a single person, a couple or family group. We are kid friendly and gay friendly. A ramp to the entry as well as roll-in showers cater for those in wheel chairs. Also wheelchair access to toilet.Pets are not allowed . With its two living areas, two bathroom/toilets and a door between the two areas, people can be together or have ‘space’. The newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and plenty of dishes for cooking, eating and drinking. Outside there is a BBQ, table and chairs with the full-length deck inviting you to enjoy a meal in the beautiful natural outdoor setting. Both toilet-bathrooms are newly renovated and have roll-in showers. Eco friendly products are supplied for all cleaning and washing needs. Other inclusions are air conditioning, heating, TV, DVD, BBQ clock radio, clothes washing machine, off street parking. All kitchen linen, bed linen, doonas and pillows are supplied. The SpaceBarefoot @ Aldinga is a large comfortable three bedrooms retro beach house, sleeping up to six in total. It is located a stroll away (less than 2 minutes walk) from the Esplanade, beach access and two restaurants. The house has queen size beds in two bedrooms which are also fitted with ceiling fans. The 3rd bedroom contains a single trundle bed (sleep 2). Fujitsu reverse cycle air conditioning is fitted for your comfort. For your in-house entertainment, we have 42" TV and DVD player as well as a vintage Record player and vinyl. Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge and cooktop with oven. A washing machine is provided for use as well. There is also an outdoor seating area and gas bbq available for Guest's use. Huge backyard for kids to run around. Big boats - no problem. My wife, Wendy works in Mclaren Vale, which is a famous wine region, she has worked in the wine industry for 15 years and would be happy to advise guests on what wineries and attractions to visit. The NeighborhoodAldinga Beach is very close to the famous wine region of Mclaren Vale, with over 64 cellar doors to visit. It is also near the Famous Star of Greece Restaurant, which has superb views of Port Willunga coastline, from its cliff top position. Getting AroundThere is a public bus route close by, there is also a train link from Adelaide to Seaford which is a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The cottage has secure undercover parking plus another 2 parking space in the driveway.     The SpaceI'm sure you will enjoy this lovely cottage/house with natural organic surrounds which can be enjoyed from the deck or fire pit overlooking the nature reserve. There are 4 bedrooms inside: 1 with a queen bed, 1 with a queen and a single, 1 with a double and a bunk bed, one with a double bed, all with ceiling fans. Plus another detatched bedroom with a double bed and reverse cycle airconditioning. The large kitchen has a water filter, all the appliances you need and is stocked with non-perishable basics to make cooking away from home easier. And the deck has a gas BBQ for outdoor cooking/entertaining. The lounge has a large flat screen and plenty of DVDs. Free phone and Wi-Fi (including national and mobile calls within Australia). In summer and winter, the beach is a beautiful place to swim, walk and soak up the good vibes. We are also right near the Aldinga Scrub, a great place to walk and maybe even see a Kangaroo or two! We have a large park 200m up the road which is GREAT for kids, plenty of room to play or kick a ball, a playground and also a BMX track! A 15 minute drive will get you to Willunga, host to a wonderful local farmers market every Saturday morning. Full of local, yummy, organic produce not to be missed! There is also GREAT restaurants and cafes in Willunga :) The famous wine region of Mclaren Vale is only a short drive away, full of famous restaurants, cellar doors, wine tasting and festivals. We are only a 50 min drive from Adelaide, or a 10 minute drive (or bus) will get you to Seaford Train Station where you can catch the train to Adelaide City, and a short stroll to Adelaide Oval for the footy or cricket! Getting AroundBus Stop right next door, convenient public transport to shops, town centre and Adelaide. A car is ideal, you can even drive on our local beach!                 THE LOCATION This modern two storey home is located in a quiet street just off Aldinga Beach Esplanade. It boasts rural views of the rolling hills and the sea from the balcony area. Just metres to the beach. Nearby transport and shopping make this location ideal. THE HOUSE The home offers guests 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets and comfortably sleeps 10 people. The master bedroom is located upstairs with walk-in robe and ensuite bathroom. Downstairs is another queen size bedroom and the third bedroom has two bunk beds which sleeps 4. There are also 2 lounges which turn into sofa beds. Extra pillows and quilts are also provided for the sofa beds. Upstairs is the well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, walk-in pantry and laundry chute. The family room has 2 lounge/sofa beds and a 55 inch TV with DVD player and DVDs supplied. The reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning makes it comfortable all year round. The open plan living area extends to the alfresco outdoor area by opening the balcony doors with views of the hills and the sea. This area is fully equipped with outdoor setting and BBQ facilities. Downstairs features a rumpus room with separate kitchenette and table tennis table for your leisure. There is also a front loading washing machine supplied for your convenience. Linen and towels can be provided upon request. This home is perfect for groups, couples or families alike. Smoking outside only and strictly no pets.                 The SpaceUpstairs is open plan with living, dining and kitchen combined to take advantage of the magnificent views. You can even gaze up the coast to Adelaide through the window above the sink as you do the dishes (if you're not using the dishwasher of course). The living area has a music system controlled by our virtual personal assistant 'Alexa'. You just speak a command and she obeys! Say 'Alexa play the Beatles' and she will play Beatles music. Say 'Alexa play Hotel California' and she will play it. Say 'Alexa play some music' and she will shuffle the library. You can tell her to play louder, softer, pause, resume etc. She will also tell you the weather, jokes and fun facts, news etc. If you like movies and TV series there is a Plex library of thousands available. Binge watch several seasons of your favourite show if you want! Off the living area is the main bedroom with King bed which adjoins the main bathroom. The bathroom has a big deep bath. Downstairs are two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with one single bed. There is a second bathroom downstairs, the laundry and a central large living area usually used by our kids as a play area (no furniture). Speaking of kids we have a couple of safety rails for the beds if you need them for very young ones. Off the downstairs living is a double garage with a home gym you're welcome to crank out a few sets on and an elliptical machine if cardio is your thing (much better to walk or run along the cliff top and enjoy the view though!). The garage is full of our junk so no parking or other use is possible. There is an old, basic but large-ish gas barbecue in the back yard which doesn't get much love because its a bit of a hike from there to the kitchen/dining area and you're welcome to give it a go. Guest AccessYou have access to all areas however we ask you don't open our storage spaces other than the kitchen pantry and the wardrobes which we will make some space in for you. The kids toys are all in tubs and your kids are welcome to use them. There are big kids games available too. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available by phone if you have any questions or concerns. The NeighborhoodOur house is positioned half way down the magnificent Fleurieu Peninsula, That means easy access to beaches, wineries (the famous McLaren Vale), country towns, markets, the Kangaroo Island ferry, national parks, regional shopping centres, Adelaide city and much more. Just web search 'things to do Fleurieu Peninsula' to discover way too many attractions to list here! Getting AroundThis is a location best explored by car. Other Things to NoteThe living area and two bedrooms share a common wall with our quiet neighbour so the music and TV need to be kept to non intrusive levels.

                Palmer at Aldinga Beach is virtually across the road from the beach, great for watching the spectacular sunsets. This spacious house is light and airy with several living areas, 3 bedrooms, good sized bathroom, separate toilet and laundry and a large protected tropical back garden. Historic Willunga is 10 mins by car, Mclaren Vale wineries and restaurants 15 mins. Shop locally or visit the Willunga market, pack a picnic and drive onto the beach 150 mtrs from your front door.

Directly opposite the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park your time can be spent twiddling your time away with a pleasant walk throughout this gorgeous landscape. Alternatively walk 10 houses down the street to the sandy white beaches of Aldinga Beach and enjoy some swimming. Upstairs contains three bedrooms and a bathroom, while downstairs is a second bathroom and laundry and the huge open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room with its abundance of windows looking out to the “scrubby” garden with its gnarled Pink Gums, so typical of this unique area.
