Interaction with GuestsWe are both shift workers, so sometimes we'll be up at odd hours or out most of the time. However, we love having guests stay at our place and we have hosted international and local visitors alike. We would be delighted if you would like to have a chat with us during your stay, but of course it depends on what plans you have. Feel free to socialize or not in our humble abode. We can give some tips/info on what to see and do in Adelaide and surrounding areas.
We don't have any curfews and we'll give you a key so you have the freedom to come and go as you please, and we'll do the same. You can arrive any time you like after the check-in period, and we can arrange for you to access the house even if we are not home at your chosen arrival time, just give us plenty of time to arrange this prior to your arrival date. The NeighborhoodWe live in a quiet neighborhood in a tree-lined street close to coffee shops, pizza places, Asian and Indian restaurants, an oval/park and gyms, a library, a grocery, post office and a small shopping mall.
NNQ restaurant is just a 5 minute walk away and offers some of the best Vietnamese food around our area. There are lots of green spaces to walk around in, even a bird sanctuary where you can feed ducks and watch several species of birds just 10 minutes away.
We are a couple of blocks away from the main road so we don't get noise from traffic. The public library is just around the corner and you can hire bicycles from there for the day - for free! Getting AroundPublic transport (train and bus) is less than five minutes walk away and runs regularly. Our home is situated halfway between the city and the beach.
If you have a vehicle, there is free street-side parking (no time limits). Taxi service is also easy to contact.
The 150 and 157 buses to the city has a bus stop just 200 meters from the house. It takes 20 minutes to get into the city via bus. There are two train stations close to the house, about 7 minutes away. The Outer Harbor and Grange trains to the city run every 30 minutes and takes about 15 minutes to get to Adelaide Railway Station. We have bus and train timetables available at the house. Other Things to NoteWe have internet in our home. We also provide clean towels and sheets, and some toiletries such as toilet paper, shampoo and soap. If you wish to do some laundry, you can use the washing machine but please buy your own laundry detergent.
