The SpaceQueen's Domain View, just across the bridge from Hobart City- close but super quiet in Hobart's best kept secret:Lindisfarne Village. "This was our nicest AirBnB stay." said happy clients Dan and Nancy Foe- not surprising,with my Superhost attention to detail, and Superdoggie hosts Daisy Daze and Tilly Tillster to welcome you all (LGBT friendly, naturally) ...and your pet if you wish, we are totally pet friendly...just ask about small children, as the apartment may not suit your needs in this regard. ....a fully equipped kitchen down to garlic press and salad spinner,3 ways to make fresh coffee ( percolator, espresso machine or plunger) with quality Lavazza beans provided, and our very own QDV beehive in the garden providing raw unheated pollen-rich bush honey for your toast, when the bees provide! I was lucky enough to buy this hilltop house with it's stunning BMW ( Bush, Mountain, Water) views & tranquil location just 8 mins across the bridge from the city in Lindisfarne ( see map) ..backing onto Natone Hill bush reserve, alive with birds, 4 years ago, and simply wanted to share it with as many people possible - so I built this luxuriously comfortable apartment below my house to do just that! Spotlessly clean,very private ( ideal romantic retreat!) in a super quiet "blue chip" suburb, self contained with it's own free parking, directly across the water from....the Queen's Domain & Botanical Gardens -part of Government House and Crown Land. Has a separate bedroom with queen bed, and super comfortable sofa bed to sleep two extra guests in the lounge room ( please note that when folded out, unsurprisingly this occupies part of the room) New and funkily furnished to the highest standard and comfort, with some of my quirky collectibles/retro pieces ( love that FAB sofa bed!!) that I have amassed over 30 years, including a stunning portrait of Elizabeth I ...as played by Tilda Swinton, naturally! The rate includes breakfast supplies: quality muesli, 1 litre of milk for arrival day, enough for 2 days for 2, one day for 4. Tea,quality coffee beans and sugar are provided along with basics such as olive oil, pepper mill, Salt, QDV honey, spices, vinegar, mustard. Free WIFI access included, of course, and we are on the NBN. I have made sure that living noise for both parties is minimised by installing the highest level of soundproofing possible during the build in walls and ceilings. SLEEP: a luxurious timber queen bed with a super comfortable Sealy posturepedic mattress with quality 1000 threadcount cotton rich bedlinen,pure wool doona (duvet/quilt) and an electric blanket for those chilly nights. Please note life is too short to iron sheets, they are line dried in the sunshine ( weather permitting) and supplied crisp and fresh "au naturelle" from the washing line. Goosedown,synthetic or orthopaedic memory foam pillow available to suit your preference, and additional pure wool blankets. I also added a Portacot with bedding supplied for this so that those with babies will be safe and comfortable... RELAX :Flatscreen TV with DVD player and extensive library of DVD's from Kill Bill, Family Guy, Alice in Wonderland,Life of Pi, Rick and Dave through to Bonanza, The Waltons and Captain Pugwash ( classics!!!) to while away the evenings if it rains.. COOK: Cook up a storm with Tasmania's great produce in a luxurious fully fitted/equipped kitchen with full cooktop, oven, microwave,Sunbeam wine cooler,espresso coffee machine/percolator/plunger and teapot, fully equipped to cook for yourself if you wish, with Fontaine la Cousance cast iron pans, and sharp knives! AND- a bread machine +bread mix provided so that you can make a piping hot loaf ready for breakfast! CLEANSE : Luxurious 5 star bathroom equipped with a fabulous 20 cm rainfall shower head (and handheld if you do not want wet hair) in a walk in shower wetroom, premium eco friendly handmade soaps from Tasmania's iconic honey skincare brand Beauty and the Bees ( OK,OK, I fess up: I own the business ;-) for a luxurious shower, fluffy towels, and of course a hairdryer. Please note: I do not supply shampoo and conditioner as people invariably bring their own. Plush towels, and cotton waffle robes naturally. WASH: washing machine and dryer, iron, with a drying rack behind the sofa so that you can put your towels out to air dry under the porch after use. Guest AccessPlease bear in mind that in order to get stunning views on a hilltop, there is a hill, and a steep driveway to the house, which is actually very easy to drive up and park. You need a car to get around in Hobart-public transport is- like most rural areas of Australia- patchy and almost non existent outside peak hours.Parking is free onsite and there is room for 2 cars- please note: guest parking is beside the apartment, which allows for easy entry and egress for you. Bushwalk (in stilettos if you wish!) on a flat easy 2.7km loop gravelled track with incredible views just outside the back door- a relaxing pre-breakfast stroll or invigorating run can start or ends the day. The Council has even recently put in an access track, handrail and new steps for you to reach the trail! Only 8 mins to the city by car to Hobart's galleries, CBD, Salamanca historic precinct, the working dock area (with some great takeaway fish and chips) North Hobart's restaurants, the State art house cinema ( fabulous bookshop) pubs and bars. MONA is an easy 20 mins away up the highway, with the world class Agrarian Kitchen cooking school only 25 mins further on. A garden patio area at the front of the apartment,with stunning panoramic views ..relax in and watch the sunset with a glass of wine and and an al fresco meal- with aromatic fresh culinary herbs in my garden if you wish to buy some of our fresh Tasmanian produce and cook up a storm. It has a real community feel, and a little village centre with all that you need close at hand....Baker's Delight Bakery, Woolworth's supermarket, bottle shop, Treats Patisserie (with gourmet pies and cakes) and the CWA ( fabulous home grown eggs fruit jams and cakes on Saturday mornings 9-12) are 2 minutes away in Lindisfarne Village, and the highly regarded Beltana Hotel 3 minutes away for a delicious meal. Realistically though as a suburb, your best, most varied choices are in the City at night. We are only 500 yards from the water's edge you can watch the new fab MONA ferry powering up river to the MONA, and all the other fascinating river traffic. There are many local bushwalks too, all easy and stunning, along the water, or the bush as you prefer...We saw a baby whale in the river yesterday (GASP!) and dolphins regularly patrol so bring your binoculars! Getting AroundYou ABSOLUTELY NEED a car to get around successfully in Hobart-public transport is- like most rural areas of Australia- patchy and almost non existent outside peak hours. There is public transport (bus) to take you to the city at the bottom of the drive- 10 mins to Salamanca place, but realistically it is sporadic- you need a car to make the best of the city. Taxis are available easily- cab to the city from here is about $ 20 one way ( yes cabs are expensive here) We are 10 minutes from the airport by car on the way into the city of Hobart proper- detailed instructions are available to you on Air BnB once you book, but it is very easy indeed to find. Other Things to NoteIn order to gain the spectacular view my property- as many in Hobart-is at the top of a steep hill, with a steep but easily negotiated driveway. Tasmania is chilly a lot of the time from May through to early December ( we can experience 4 seasons in one day) and it is VERY important that you bring warm clothing if you want to be comfortable-I suggest light soft puffa jackets/thermals, not much room in your suitcase taken up but you will be SOOOO glad that you brought them! Layering is the key. The apartment is really warm, but coming here from, say, Singapore,you may feel the cold if you do not wear suitable clothing... ACCESS: The driveway- to be expected on a hill- is very steep, but very easily negotiated, and once up at the house it is a totally flat access to the apartment.

The SpaceHOUSE Welcome to my Large 4 bedroom Place in Hobart Tasmania. Built in the 1930's, with internal and external solid brick walls and high decor ceilings. Original oak doors and flooring with comfy original carpet in the bedrooms. ROOM Booking through this ad, you are booking a Large private lockable room with a Queen bed Plus 2 Single beds. COMMON AREA There is a Large fireplace in the Large Living area with a Large digital TV with HDMI, DVD player, Stereo System. The house has a bathroom with a Toilet plus a separate 2nd toilet. You can choose which of the four rooms you would like to book as each room has a separate ad therefore you can have nice peaceful stay or you may also may chose to meet other guests and share stories, tips, locations to visits. You can also book the whole house through a separate ad as well if you would like the entire house to yourself. Guest AccessThe house is equipped with the essentials to get you settled in and being centrally located with Woolworth, Coles, Kmart a few minutes walk for your ongoing needs. Large Open Fireplace in the Lounge room (Firewood can be provided on request for a small cost for wood about $10/night ideal for a few hours a night, cost will depend on how much wood is used.) Interaction with Guests1- I welcome you to my place and show you around and answers any question you have, as well as provide you with the house and room keys.. 2 - During your stay, if you need anything I am a call or text away. The NeighborhoodThe house is ideally situated for exploring the greater Hobart City, Salamanca Market, Mona Museum, Botanical Garden, Mt-Wellington, just to name a few. It's a perfect location for walking. A ten minute walk to North Hobart strip with the iconic State Cinema, restaurants, cafes, shops, pubs & clubs. In the other direction, a 5 minute walk to Newtown Shopping Complex with Coles, Woolworths and Kmart (open 24/7), cafes, etc We recently got new neighbours providing Breakfast called "The Breakfast Truck" on must weekends, and a Taco truck in the evening on weekdays. Getting AroundThe are plenty of FREE Street parking in front of the house. 5 minutes drive to Hobart city centre, Salamanca. Frequent bus service right in front of the house. A 10 minute walk to Cornelian Bay with its renowned Boat House restaurant, or bush walks on Mt Stuart. A 15 minute walk to the beautiful Botanic Garden. Airport to My Place: 1. Taxi :- Average cost $55 to $65 depending on time, etc 2. Airport Bus :- Cost about $17/person. Stop on Stoke Street, New Town on the way to City. My place is about 5 minutes walk from Stoke street. If you go to the city first, then there are frequent bus service that stops right in front of my place. Other Things to NoteI try my best to satisfy my guests needs and treating you as my friends and family and at the same time giving you your privacy and space to do your own thing. Personally I believe the convenience of a car would enhance the experience. Our Apartments provide an excellent holiday destination for travelers visiting Hobart. Recently re-furbished, these apartments are only 8minutes from the center of Hobart. With its central location, the city's attractions such as the Cadbury's Chocolate Factory, Moorilla Winery, Salamanca Place and Battery Point are all in close vicinity of this property. The units come in one and two bedroom varieties, each equipped with a separate kitchen with microwave, full size stove, large refrigerator and all crockery and cutlery. In addition, there are Wireless Internet as well as Austar TV available in all apartments. We are 24 kms from Hobart Airport and also just 10 minute drive from great tourist places like Salamanca Market, Hobart’s beautiful Water Front Harbour & Restaurants.

Lovely low 4 poster beds compliment each room. The 3rd & 4th bedrooms each have twin king single beds for guest comfort. There is also a fully sprung double settee in the formal dining room along with an 8 seat dining setting. Adjacent the dining room is a formal sunroom with comfortable leather seats. A great place to sit and relax and contemplate the day ahead. The formal kitchen is very well equipped complete with another smaller 4 setting dining suite as well as a fan forced wall oven and hotplates, microwave oven, very large refridgerator and freezer, sandwich maker, rice cooker, slow cooker, and full compliment of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. There is even a sink muncher to dispose of waste scraps etc! The formal lounge also has seating for all along with a larger LCD TV, DVD player and DVD library, a variety of games and books to browse and read as well as a large traditional baywindow to capture the warmth of the day. The largest bedroom has a double bed, good wardrobe space and also a double sofa bed, so can sleep 4 adults or 2 adults and children. The second bedroom has a double bed and also plenty of storage for changes of clothes - remember Tassie can be 'four seasons in one day'. The bathroom is across the hallway from both bedrooms. The front garden is the pride of the street, with abundant roses at the right time of year. It's a really sunny spot so we encourage you to sit outside on the garden seat and enjoy some of Tassie's finest refreshments! There is ample off street parking. The NeighborhoodLocally known as the 'Paris end of Goodwood' (we're not sure why!) Negara Crescent is a quiet street that is also home to some marine industry. This means neighbours are only either side and not opposite - they're a boat builder and wetsuit manufacturer. The street is quiet and empty out of working hours and during weekends. The street may not be the prettiest but Prince of Wales Bay is around the corner, and Giblins Reserve, which is a 5 min walk, has lots of green space, playground and barbecue areas. There is even a boat launching ramp. There is a corner shop 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The street is away from the main highways but key routes into and out of Hobart are easily accessible. MONA is 7 minutes away by car or an easy bike ride along a dedicated bike track. The North Hobart restaurant strip is only 8 minutes by car and has an ever increasing number of great restaurants and pubs to choose from. In North Hobart the Republic Bar is a Hobart institution with live music most nights and The Winston Pub serves boutique beers and great burgers. Willing Bros wine bar is great to drop into for a drink. Or catch a movie at the renowned State Cinema where you can first enjoy a meal and then sit back in front of a movie with a glass of wine. Hobart Waterfront (famous for the finish of the Sydney-Hobart yacht race and subsequent parties) and Salamanca are 10 minutes by car, so it's easy to get to the Saturday market and festivals including the Taste of Tasmania, MONA FOMA, the Australian Wooden Boat Festival and Dark Mofo. Also the numerous bars and restaurants at Salamanca. Ferry rides on the Derwent river, a visit to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Maritime Museum or shopping is all very accessible and close at hand. Enjoy fish and chips on the waterfront which provides access to boutique shopping, coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Hobart airport is 20 minutes drive and the historic village of Richmond and the Coal River Valley vineyards are only 20 minutes away. It is only 25 minutes to the picturesque Derwent Valley and New Norfolk. Access to the Midland Highway or the east coast and Arthur Highway to Port Arthur is all very easy. The Derwent Entertainment Centre and Elwick Park racecourse are only 3 minutes away. Getting AroundMajor routes to all of Hobart's top attractions are nearby so easy access by car or taxi. Please check that the gas cooker/stove is off and turn off the lights and heater when you leave. Have a great time in Tasmania and please take a good look around Hobart and the attractions it has to offer. On a clear day a drive to the top of Mount Wellington is well worth it.

The NeighborhoodLindisfarne is a very pretty suburb on the eastern shore of Hobart and only 8 minutes drive to the city and Salamanca Market. There is a village atmosphere and we have a supermarket, 2 pharmacies, doctors and most importantly bakeries and coffee shops just 5 minutes (max) walk. Lindisfarne Bay is only a 3 minute walk and offers lovely views of the city, Tasman Bridge and beautiful Mt Wellington. MONA is only a 15 minute drive. Getting AroundEasy and safe street parking, bus to the city that stops at the end of my street, lovely walks. It only takes 15 minutes by car from the airport.

        The SpaceThe house is a beautiful (mostly) renovated 1920s weatherboard, with an open fire and new kitchen and bathroom. There is a garden with a table and chairs and lots of books which you are welcome to read while you are here. Your room contains a double bed, a wardrobe, a heater and chairs for your use. The house is warmed by gorgeous and ambient wood fires, which is delightful, but not so modern - so please bring a woolly jumper if you visit in winter. I am also a freelance writer and editor, all of which means I can work long and sometimes strange hours. I welcome interaction and a good chat and have a fascination with Tasmanian history and culture which I am always up to discuss. I try and make it out of town as often as possible, which means you may well have the house to yourselves, especially if you are here for a weekend. The NeighborhoodMoonah is a wonderfully diverse suburb with a palpable sense of community. There is an excellent array of eateries, including a new and amazing coffee shop, a lovely Japanese restaurant and many smaller takeaways. They are all within walking distance. The bike track is half a block away and the ride to the city takes around 20 minutes. There is a great new Arts Centre and the buses in to town run regularly. It is a lovely stroll along the bike track to Cornelian Bay. Getting AroundIt is a three minute walk to Main Road, where buses run every 10 minutes in the daytime and early evening, to the city and regularly until late in the evening. The Intercity Cycle Way is half a block away and a fifteen minute walk takes you to the Derwent River. There is generally plenty of parking out the front of the house.         The SpaceAn intimate, yet surprisingly spacious home, my little garden cottage gives you a diversity of spaces to relax in after a busy day of sampling some of our fabulous natural, cultural, and palatable delights. With beautiful timber floor boards throughout, and a melange of local and Thai artworks, snuggle up in the lounge by the wood heater, or retreat to the the sunny nook which adjoins the kitchen to enjoy the cottages different moods. The first bedroom is well set up with a double bed and plenty of inbuilt cupboard hanging space, whilst the second bedroom takes in the mountain view and late afternoon sunshine with a queen sized bed. The kitchen is fully set up, if you choose to eat in, with brand new appliances, including a microwave, oven and gas cook top. Also located in the kitchen for your convenience is a front loader washing machine, and full size fridge. Step out the back door and you will find your own private balcony. Down the stairs and into the backyard is a garden with plum trees, apricot, and a lemon tree, as well as some great shady trees and a flat paved and lawn area to utilise, making for an excellent family space. The fruit trees are laden with fruit in January, so please help yourself. Also downstairs you'll find an outside toilet, which if required (bathroom busy upstairs!) you're also welcome to use. Underneath the house is where I have my studio, but you may not see me as I'm not spending much time there at present. I am however trying to spend a bit of time in the garden, so on weekends if you are staying you may see me pottering there. If you have kids, or require more bed space for your group size, please get in touch as I may be able to help with extra bedding from my studio and floor mattress. Guest AccessThere is plenty of free, all day, off street parking on our quiet no through road. A key box is at the entrance to the home to give you 24 hour access, which can be particularly handy with any flight delays. Also available are bicycles, books, magazines, puzzles, a ukulele, and games to use whilst you are staying. Complimentary tea, coffee, and condiments can also be found in the pantry, so please help yourself! Interaction with GuestsI hope to be able to catch up with you on your travels, but I am kept quite busy with work, so we might not always meet. However, I'm never far away, working nearby, so please don't hesitate to contact me if you need. I also sometimes stay in studio, under house. The NeighborhoodMoonah must be the most ethnically culturally diverse Suburb of Tassie, where new communities are continuing to be settled. It's not uncommon then to see Afgani or Bhutanese children playing in the nearby Benjafield park, which is also home to a vibrant multicultural festival in March. Also settling in Moonah are young couples, and artists, where industrial mingles with residential properties, which are dissected by the old railway line that has running along it a fabulous bike track into Hobart, or head off in the other direction and you'll hit MONA! Moonah then is a handy location just 7 minutes to central Hobart and 10 minutes to our international hot spot, MONA. It's also very nearby the hockey centre (3 mins) aurora basketball stadium (3 mins) royal botanical gardens (5 mins), Blundstone arena (15mins) and just a 20 minute drive to Hobart international airport. A short walk away is the newly renovated Moonah arts centre (MAC) where you can see a diverse range of exhibitions, performances and workshops. If you are walking to MAC you'll have to stop for a refreshment at St Albi, a warehouse bar and restaurant which is fast gaining some great foody reviews. Or there are plenty of more budget options in Moonah itself, including Southern Indian food, a new Korean hot pot restaurant, pizza or Thai take away, excellent Japanese, Texan pantry, or the Valhallah local made ice cream shop and factory, a 5 minute walk away. For the ultimate restaurant strip, head into north Hobart (5 mins) where you can discover great restaurants, bars, cafes and live music. If you are looking to workout on your holiday, ZAP 24 hour gym is located a 5 minute walk away, or grab a bike from under the house to go and warm up (especially in winter months) at the city Bikram Yoga studio/warehouse on Bathurst street. The Hobart aquatic centre and Glenorchy outdoor pool are also nearby, a 5-10 minute drive. Getting AroundIf you have a car, getting around is easy, as Moonah is not far from iconic stops, including Salamanca markets or MOMA markets which you can reach in 10 mins, or the State Cinema and Theatre Royal, which are just 7 minutes away. If you don't have a car and are cabbing, a taxi into Hobart shouldn't cost you much (15-20$). Metro buses run frequently through Moonah also (every 10 mins, but check website timetable, as less later in evening, and weekends and public holidays). If you like to get out and active you can borrow bikes to ride into Salamanca/Hobart (25 mins) on the picturesque bike track following the railway and river Derwent. Or, head to MONA, passing through the suburb of Glenorchy on the bike track (30 mins). Other Things to NoteMy home is a pet free and smoke free zone. Smoking outside is fine, but please dispose of butts appropriately. It can get chilly in the Winter months, and the wood has been stacked, so that if you are staying in, you can light up the wood heater for a cosy evening in. Other electric heating options are provided, and it's appreciated to conserve energy, that appliances are switched off when not in residence.

MONA is an easy 20 mins away up the highway, with the world class Agrarian Kitchen cooking school only 25 mins further on. A garden patio area at the front of the apartment, with stunning panoramic views in which to relax in and watch the sunset with a glass of wine and and an al fresco meal- with aromatic fresh culinary herbs if you wish to buy some of our fresh Tasmanian produce and cook up a storm.
