Getting AroundThere are regular buses to the city from Elizabeth St a short walk from the WareHaus. Hobart is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. The SpaceThe space comfortably sleeps 6 people. Two people in each of the large 3 bedrooms. The house is historic and is tastefully renovated, having recently been painted and carpeted. Guest AccessGuests have the downstairs house, front garden and veranda. Interaction with GuestsI am there when you need me, but leave you to enjoy the place on your own. The NeighborhoodIt's a friendly neighbourhood with lots of pretty older houses and just a short stroll to two cafes, Hill St Grocer, restaurant, playground and Post Office Shop. It is a 20 minute walk to either the City centre or North Hobart restaurant strip. Just up the hill is Mt Knocklofty, with lots of different walking tracks and lovely city views Getting AroundThere are bus stops on our street, just 50m away. Or it is a nice walk into the city. Plenty of parking is available on the street outside, without time restrictions. Other Things to NoteYou will not see the guests staying upstairs, as they are completely separate, but you may hear their foot falls (don't worry, it's not a ghost!)

The SpaceHere you will enjoy your own suite of rooms (bedroom/kitchenette, livingroom/TV, and bathroom), with your own private access, on the lower floor of our 100 year old family home in West Hobart. You'll love our quiet neighbourhood, only walking distance to the centre of the city and shops, and well served by local buses. We are just up the road (5 minutes walk) from the fabulous North Hobart restaurant strip, and just around the block from the famous Hill St Grocer. The rooms are comfortable and warm - a spacious bedroom with well-equipped mini kitchenette (note - no oven or cooktop), your own living room with home cinema and internet, and your own bathroom (note - shower only). You'll have your own external access, and as much privacy as you choose. Pls note, following feedback from a guest, the bedroom door is lockable. Parking is easy on the street outside. There is easy access for cycle tourers too, with ample room for parking, unpacking and packing your bike around the back. We are well located for riding to destinations around the city, and can give lots of tips on this. Towels and linens are included. The bed is quite firm. A range of tea and coffee options are provided, and the fridge is stocked for your first breakfast (or snacks on arrival). A handy written guide describes the rooms, local restaurants and services, and nearby tourist attractions. And we are very happy to give you tips on sightseeing and restaurants. Ours is a low-toxin and smoke-free household - we take care with chemicals used for cleaning, laundry etc. There is an under-cover clothes drying area if you need to catch up on some laundry. Hobart is a terrific place to visit, with easily accessible history (such as Battery Point, Port Arthur), crafts (Salamanca Market, Richmond), arts (Museum of Old and New Art, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery), music festivals (MOFO and Cygnet Folk Festival in January, Dark MOFO at the winter solstice in June), wonderful local produce (farmers' markets), wines (Coal River Valley, Huon Valley), wildlife (Bonorong wildlife park) and wilderness (Mt Wellington, Mt Field National Park). You are welcome to enjoy our large garden - relax in the native grassland area or inspect our healthy vegie gardens. Our home offers ideas on how to move towards a sustainable lifestyle in an urban environment. Guest AccessYou will have the run of the downstairs of our house, and enjoy your own back door access. No step access is available, and security lighting for night time homecomings. Interaction with GuestsWe assume that our guests are having a private holiday, but we're happy to take our cue from you and love sharing travellers' tales. We are usually at home while we have guests staying. The NeighborhoodWe love our quiet heritage listed neighbourhood. Getting AroundIt's an easy 25 minute walk to the city and Salamanca Place. Catch the bus. The West Hobart bus stops just outside our house. The frequent city-bound buses run through North Hobart, 5 minutes walk away. Ride your bike! Parking is easy out the front. The SpaceThe house has two bedrooms each with a comfy queen bed. Fresh bed linen and towels are provided for your stay and the kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your own meals - but if you prefer to go out, there are also great restaurants and cafes only a short walk away in North Hobart! It sits above Hobart with stunning views of the city and River Derwent. Enjoy the sunshine on our large deck or relax in our comfortable living room. The house retains many of it's original 1950s features and is simply furnished to accentuate its retro style. You will find our house to be the perfect base to relax after a day of sightseeing. Hobart has plenty to offer the visitor with the most famous sites being the Saturday Salamanca Market and the incredible MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). In 30 minutes you can be in the heart of one of Hobart's surrounding wine regions, or travel a little further to Bruny Island, the Huon Valley or Port Arthur. And if you are in Hobart on a Sunday morning act like a local and check out the vibrant Farmers Market in Hobart city. Interaction with GuestsI am always available by phone or online but chances are I wont get to meet you as I live outside Tasmania - only coming back a few times a year. My brother is on call if you have any problems that I am unable to assist you with over the phone. The NeighborhoodMount Stuart is one of Hobart's leafy and quiet established inner city suburbs known for it's views over the city and river. You will only be a short walk (less than 10mins) to Providence Cafe which we think is the best place for coffee or breakfast (gluten free options available) in Hobart. There are also great places to eat nearby in North Hobart. Raincheck is a popular restaurant and another favourite of ours but North Hobart has experienced an abundance of new bars and restaurants in the last 12 months and has plenty of choices for all tastes. Republic Bar also has live music most nights and there are several small galleries for those looking for an art fix. If you feel like some quality cinema then spend some time at the State Cinema - home of some of the best independent cinema. Getting AroundThere are plenty of buses that pass through North Hobart on their way to the city, but keep in mind that the walk up from North Hobart to the house is steep. If you don't like hills then taxis are a cheap option - the fare to and from the city is around $10. It's about 35mins pleasant walk into the city for those looking to stretch their legs. It's also possible to catch a bus from North Hobart to MONA although we recommend the ferry from Salamanca as the more scenic way to go. If you are in Hobart for more than two days I would recommend renting a car to give you some freedom to explore Hobart's varied surroundings. Other Things to NoteThe house is not set up for young children - we recommend it only for families with children 12 or above.

Short walk to North Hobart for restaurants, bars and state cinema. Getting AroundVery central to CBD and all amenities and 8 mins walk into North Hobart for Bars and Restaurants. Takes about 25-30 mins to walk down to waterfront where Salamanca market is held.

      Splendid luxury at the bottom of the world - a special hide-away with the feel of a luxury, boutique hotel, without the hotel and triple the space! You can check out our reviews by searching for us on other sites. We now have 3 two-bedroom luxury apartments including this one plus the romantic Monty's Hideway. We tend to receive most bookings either directly or through another service but try our best to respond to all enquiries quickly. We have 100s of 5 star reviews on the 'other' service! Stay in a spacious, beautifully appointed, self-contained apartment in one of Australia's most historic houses, formerly home to each Bishop of Tasmania for over 160 years until 2003. There are many stories about past owners, residents and guests including Field Marshall Montgomery of WW2 fame. Our family home was built in the 1830s and is set in about an acre of gardens on one of Hobart's most attractive tree-lined streets on the edge of Battery Point - just at the end of our street. And unlike Battery Point/other central areas, we have free parking outside! Our 110 square metre apartment is at a secluded end of a 3 storey 10 bedroom family home and comprises 1 double bedroom and one twin-bedded bedroom with an ensuite shower room. In addition, there is a large lounge room and sumptuous bathroom on the first floor, divided off and separate from the rest of the house. The lounge has 30 square metres of beautiful dark polished original oak flooring and offers pleasant views across extensive gardens towards the Derwent River. Independent/dedicated access is through an attractive courtyard, separate entrance door and stairs. The apartment has been fitted out to the highest possible standard. The fully tiled main bathroom features a deep, natural stone bath, a wide floor-ceiling glass walled shower, underfloor heating and fluffy towels from the White Company in London. A second bathroom is ensuite to the Montgomery Room and is also fully tiled with underfloor heating. The apartment has hydronic heating, sound-proofing, draught-proofing and plenty of character. Heat is solar powered from a large scale solar array in the old orchard, supplemented by gas. And there's a hair dryer. Faraday Street is considered the prettiest street in West Hobart. The area is surrounded by Cafes and the famous Hill Street Grocer for gourmet Tasmanian Cheeses and European foods and cakes. The area has a beautiful English village feel and yet so close to the city. There is free street parking. Getting AroundBuses are available but it is only a leisurely 15 - 20 min stroll into the city, and 20-30min walk to the Salamanca Market and Ferry Terminals to catch a ride to the famous MONA Museum and other tourist hotspots.       The SpaceThe bedroom is a detached room located on the bottom level of our home, accessed from a stone path down the side of our house. The bedroom overlooks our back garden, which gives the impression that you are far away from a capital city! Guest AccessAll guests have external side access to our backyard and the room. The bathroom is located up the external stairs in the main part of the house, and you are free to use whenever you like. Guests are free to use our kitchen and utensils - just ask if you need any assistance in operating the oven/stove or BBQ. If you need to do some washing, we have a machine which can also be used. Interaction with GuestsWe are in and out of home constantly but you will see us, our daughter and tiger (dog) quite often. We are more than happy to chat and offer advice on things to do, and places to eat in Hobart - just ask! The NeighborhoodWest Hobart is a nice, family friendly neighborhood close to the Hobart center (15-25 min walk to CBD, s and food of all variety! Getting AroundHobart is quite hilly as is were we are in West Hobart. Whilst hills are unavoidable if walking to our place from the city center, they aren't too strenuous and we can let you know the least hilly way to get to where you want to go - on the plus side you get a nice easy walk down hill into town!. Other Things to NoteJust a couple of things to note, we have a shower over bath and external stairs to access the kitchen and bathroom.

The NeighborhoodWe are in the best part of West Hobart very close to Tasmania's best deli. & new cafes with decent coffee. Smolt Kitchen restaurant (Hobart's new sensation) is a stone's throw from your door. It's a short stroll to the vibrant North Hobart restaurant strip. The attractions of Hobart's beautiful waterfront/heritage zone is walking distance. It's a peaceful neighbourhood, great for 'sleeping-in' or a slow start to the day. Getting AroundPublic transport is almost outside your gate. On foot is a popular option because there are excellent cafes and older Hobart homes to admire on your stroll. North Hobart is in one direction and Hobart City another, so we are in well placed alongside inner urban. West Hobart is on a gentle rise out of the City so there are beautiful vistas along our streets. Great nature walks are on higher ground near us (Knocklofty & Wellington Park) for stunning views of the Harbour - so bring your Camera. We can provide any guiding and transport options you need (for a small fee) to get you there or even further afield quickly. If you have a car you can park it safely off street. Other Things to NoteAirport pick up or drop offs to venues & attractions can be available through private arrangement. The City/Waterfront precinct is approx. 20 minute walk. The North Hobart Restaurant Strip is 10-15 minutes by foot. Simple cereal breakfast tea/coffee provided.

      The SpaceThe bungalow is at the rear of our family home but is yours to enjoy all to yourself. We have a large deck and backyard that you are welcome to use as well. Guests need to be aware that we have a very friendly and gentle spoodle dog who has access to the deck and yard. The bungalow has a kettle, toaster, single hot plate, fridge & microwave oven. Guests are welcome to use the bbq on the deck and the washing machine and dryer in the external laundry. Guest AccessYou will have private access to the bungalow and ensuite bathroom. The yard and decks are shared. Parking is available at the front of our property and we have a few bikes that you are welcome to borrow. Interaction with GuestsWe will usually be home in the main house when guests are staying, but are often out during the day. We are always happy to answer questions guests may have and can probably provide any additional things you need during your stay. The NeighborhoodWest Hobart is a leafy inner city suburb with beautiful older homes, it is about a 15 min walk to the centre of the city and only 10 minutes to Elizabeth St North Hobart (cafes, bars, restaurants and State Cinema). There a couple of local cafes less than 200m from our house, and the excellent Hill St Grocer is a 5 min walk. Getting AroundThe local bus stop into the city centre is 50m up our street in Lansdowne Cres.

      The SpaceThis apartment is split over two levels with kitchen/living/dining on the lower level and 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. There is also a laundry and separate toilet downstairs and a relaxing outdoor area where you can enjoy a glass of Tasmanian wine while taking in the view. For your comfort the apartment is furnished with two leather lounges and extendable dining table along with a writing desk. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, amazing views and second television, whilst the second bedroom has 2 single beds with bedside tables. Both bedrooms have built in cupboards The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and microwave. Guests will find all they need to self cater if they wish. Some basic provisions are supplied ie tea, coffee and other pantry items. The apartment has off street parking for one car at the front door. The NeighborhoodSummerhill Road is located only one block from the iconic Hill St Grocer, where every delicacy is available. Within easy walking distance is North Hobart, known for its extensive restaurant strip, music and cinema. Just up the hill is a great place for a walk. Knocklofty Reserve is an easy walk, but will give you great views over Hobart and back towards the close foothills to the Organ Pipes of Mt Wellington. The area is quiet and just a 25 minute walk to central Hobart and the harbour. The Metro bus passes just in front of the apartment Getting AroundWhatever your preference your transport wishes are catered for. The West Hobart bus stop is around 50 meters from the door. Just 10 minutes to the CBD. Your off street parking is at your front door. The airport is a $50-$55 taxi ride away, but you could catch the Aiporter bus and taxi for around $20 pp. For a person of reasonable fitness most of Hobart is just a nice walk away. Other Things to NotePlease note, if travelling with young children the stairs are open for the lower half as there is no rail.

      The SpaceThis 1890s cottage has genuine heritage features and personal touches around every corner to make you feel at home. The spacious main bedroom features expansive water and garden views from the bed, while the second bedroom has a lovely pitched roof and a leafy aspect. They both have queen size beds. An additional blow up air mattress is available for a fifth guest if required. The cosy lounge room features a roaring fire that keeps the whole house warm, and a big flat screen TV with Netflix and a DVD library. NBN wifi is available in every room of the house. There is a separate dining room with a huge library of books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. The kitchen has a gas stove and electric oven and is amply stocked with essentials including a vast selection of spices and condiments, teas, coffee, cook books, and cooking appliances. Open the back door and a spacious garden unfolds, featuring a sunny breakfast bar, a large deck with a BBQ and daybeds under a leafy canopy, a paved area with a large dining table, and a beautiful cottage garden filled with apple, plum, pear, kiwi, lemon, grapefruit and guava plants that you are welcome to graze on when in season. The garden is completely private and provides you with a large, green sanctuary in which to enjoy your breakfast, soak in some sunshine, enjoy a book or recover from your sightseeing. Hobart's famous independent grocer, Hill St, is just a few metres away, and features a fantastic selection of local gourmet treats, so much delicious cheese, whisky and wine. Taxis into town cost about $8-$10 and usually come within 10 minutes of being booked. It is a 20 minute drive from the airport.

      The SpaceOur studio apartment is split level, with the bedroom located over a sandstone cliff in our yard. It has its own private deck with seating. The deck has lovely views over Mt Stuart/West Hobart and gets sun most of the day. Up a small flight of stairs is the lounge/kitchenette area, which has full length double-glazed windows with views over Mt Stuart and West Hobart. The bathroom is separate and located off the lounge area. A separate, off-street car parking space is available for guests. We have lovely views of the city and the River Derwent from our property, and receive full day sun. The studio is ideally suited to a couple, but can accommodate more guests. There is a new sofa bed in the lounge area, which folds out into a double bed. Alternatively, I can bring in an additional single mattress if prefer. Guest AccessAccess to the apartment is down the side of our house. Our house is separate to the apartment and has separate parking and access. Access to the apartment is 24 hours. The entire property is fenced and access is through the side gate. Interaction with GuestsWe want to interact with you in the manner you prefer. The NeighborhoodWe live in West Hobart, just below Knocklofty Reserve, which has lovely short walks through the Tasmanian bush. You can even walk to Mt Wellington from here if you wish (and are sufficiently fit and able!). We are about a 5-10 minute walk (or very short drive) to the restaurant strip, State cinema and the Republic Bar in North Hobart. The famous Hill St grocer is only a 5-10 minute walk away. You can walk to the centre of the city, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Salamanca market and the docks in about 20-30 minutes or catch the bus from the bus stop at the bottom of Summerhill Rd (15 minutes to the city). MONA is about a 15 minute drive from our place. Getting AroundWe are within walking distance to West and North Hobart and the city. However, we are located on a rather steep hill, so walking back requires reasonable fitness (or alternatively catch the bus!). We are on the metro bus line, with the closest stop at the bottom of Summerhill Rd. If you are on foot and need a lift up the hill, I am happy to collect you if I can. Pebble View would not only suit a family but also 1,2 or even 3 couples. The kids are catered for with a TV with built in DVD player, WIFI and Porta Cot. The home has every thing you would normally expect fro Pots and Pans, Iron, Hairdryer and BBQ.                 The SpaceA recently renovated brick house in one of Hobart's best suburbs welcomes you. The space has lots of natural light and the two bedrooms are large. 1 room has a king bed and the other a queen bed, with enough room to place a single mattress in either for an extra guest. Also the beds have electric blankets to warm you up on those cold nights The bathroom also expansive with a large shower and deep bath. And once again lots of natural light due to the skylight. The living area and kitchen are the hero of this property. Walk in pantry and euro laundry and plenty of room for cooking with a dining table that sits 6. The double glazed sliding door opens right back which allows the inside and outside living area to become one. The house has NBN internet and wifi and a dvd player with plenty of movies on hand. The heater is gas and heats up the space nicely. Guest AccessGuests will be greeted on arrival at property. Guests have access to the whole house except for the 3rd bedroom which will be locked. Access to the washing machine, but unfortunately the dryer is not working. Whatever food is in pantry you can also use. To access property there is a key store by the door. Please place key back in keystore once unlocked. So there is no option of lost keys or people being locked out. Interaction with GuestsDue to that fact that I travel a lot. The NeighborhoodWEST HOBART is one of the most sought out suburbs in Hobart, if not Tasmania. Everything is a stone's throw away. From HILL ST CENTRAL, Smolt Kitchen Cafe is a 1 min walk on the corner and the famous Hill St Grocer is a 3 min walk in the other direction. Here you can find some of the best food in Hobart. Tasmania is known as a foodie paradise...and this is the place to stock up. You will find local Tasmanian produce here, cheese pantry, chocolates, meat, seafood, delicatessen, a florist, and their home wares that they also stock. For the kids, and known as the "The Train Park", it's by far the most popular park in Hobart, it's a 5 min walk away and has bbqs, families can often spend half the day there. North Hobart is a 12 min walk and boasts some of Hobart's best restaurants, wine bars, cafes and galleries. And if you're wanting to see a movie, try "The State Cinema", also in North Hobart It's a Hobart Icon, and has been entertaining generations of Tasmanians for 100 years. In summer the rooftop cinema and bar are a must. While the city and waterfront are a 20 min walk away. Here you can wander around the famous Salamanca and Hobart's beautiful waterfront with its galleries,restaurants and funky bars. This is also where the ferry leaves for MONA. Please check my guidebook for this listing for more fantastic places close to "Hill St Central" Getting AroundGetting around is easy from HILL ST CENTRAL. There is a bus stop just up the road that takes you into the city every 20 mins if you don't want to walk, route 540..check the metro website for timetable. If your wanting to get to (URL HIDDEN) a 15 min drive away by car. Or you can travel there via the Ferry from Brook St Pier on the waterfront. Parking is on the street, and it's never an issue to park right outside the property UBER....HAS ARRIVED!!! Other Things to NoteMaximum guests are 5. There is the option of a single mattress with bedding that can be placed in one of the bedrooms. Extra guest fee, after 4 guests is $20 per night. Children are welcome, but please note that the property has garden tools, mulch,compost etc etc down the sides of the house. It also has no child safety locks, gates or bedding for children. The clothes dryer is not working, but you have access to the line. The lights in Hallway, pantry and laundry are automatic and on a sensor. Key is to be placed back in key store after door is unlocked. This way no option of losing key.

Our fully renovated cottage features off street parking for two cars, flat access, large sunny backyard, gorgeous sunny veranda perfect for watching the world go by, large brand new bathroom, two toilets, separate laundry with washing machine, four double bedrooms (three downstairs and one upstairs) all with wardrobes, open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with a 6-seater dining table, Bosch dishwasher, wood heater, Nespresso coffee machine and complementary tea, coffee and milk.
