Watch a beautiful sunset as you have an evening drink of your choice out on the deck. A short walk to the beach and Great Ocean Walk. 30 minute walk to town. Friendly small community, beautiful beaches, 9 hole golf course, skate park and play ground, BBQ facilities on the foreshore and lots of places to bush walk, driving on the Great Ocean Road, see the sights such as the 12 Apostles, scenic flights to the surrounding area, great cafe life and restaurants. Relaxed seaside town with varied shops, cafe's with great coffee, some with free WIFI. Scenic fishing village with Otway and sea views, short drives to tourist destinations and lots of walking on the beach is recommended in any weather. Take your camera - Herons Rest is worth the view. There are binoculars in the book case, you may spot an eagle soaring high also plenty of books to read. Board games, card games to play too. Guest AccessYou access the house via a key lock box. At Herons Rest there are some antiques, please respect the furniture as you would yours, no hot or cold drinks placed on the wooden tables. Please don't leave wet towels on the beds, draped over chairs or left on the timber floors. Leave them in the bath after use. The SpaceSet on 18 hectares surrounded by gardens, each villa is positioned to ensure privacy. The open plan bedroom/lounge, kitchen with a wall of full length windows fronting the ocean, ensures you can take in the amazing views from the bed, kitchen, lounge or even the spa and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, cooktop, oven, full size fridge, cooking equipment. Attention to detail is a priority at our villas with those little extra touches that make our villas special - handmade soap, fluffy robes, bubble bath, hairdryer, fresh milk ready for your arrival, books, games, DVD's, CD's, iPod dock and beach towels. Continental breakfast supples are supplied in your villa and include fresh milk, and a selection of cereals, breads, spreads, specialty teas and coffees. There's even real leaf tea and a tea pot. The double balcony with your own BBQ and outdoor furniture means you can make the most of the outside space whether cooking a meal or just enjoying some fresh seafood from the local harbour fish shop. Each villa has its own private balcony and car space. guests may enjoy the gardens and acreage but are asked to respect the privacy of guests in other villas. Each incoming guest is met on arrival at the villa to ensure they know how to work appliances. Alan and Glenda are both locals, and very knowledgeable about distances, the best places and times to visit, can recommend restaurants, masseurs and other useful advice to make the most of a stay in Apollo Bay. After check- in, guests are left undisturbed, but their hosts are only a phone call away and are on call 8am-9pm and 24 hrs in an emergency. Guest AccessGuests have their own private balcony with a BBQ and outdoor furniture. Each villa has its own car space. Guests are welcome to walk around the property being mindful of the privacy of other guests. Interaction with GuestsAlan and I greet each guest upon arrival at Point of View to ensure they are comfortable, know how to work appliances and answer any questions they may have about where to eat, what to see, travel times etc. We then leave guests to their privacy but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm or 24 hours in an emergency. The NeighborhoodPoint of View Villas are ideally suited to a few days exploring the Great Ocean Road. Apollo Bay has some of the best beaches along the coast. You can learn to surf, take a fishing trip, kayak out to the seal colony or just stroll along the harbour. In winter whales can be seen frolicking in the bay. The town also features some great restaurants, with views of the beach so you enjoy a coffee or a seafood meal at your leisure. World renowned, Chris's Beacon Point Restaurant is first class for food and views. Don't miss Dooley's award winning ice cream in town for a treat. We also recommend a visit to the Apollo Bay Day Spa for some relaxing massage therapy. In the hinterland there are abundant waterfalls and walks. The Otway Fly Treetop Walk and Triplet Falls are 2 of our favourites. We can also recommend where to see koalas in the wild. A visit to the historic Cape Otway Lighthouse and a swim or beachcombing at secluded Blanket Bay are also high on our list of recommendations. 50 mins along the scenic Great Ocean Road are the 12 Apostles which make for a great day exploring the many coves and stunning Bass Strait scenery. A helicopter flight along the coast is an extravagance, but worth it. Getting AroundPoint of View Villas are 1.5 km from the Great Ocean Road. The best travel option to Apollo Bay is by car to enable you to make the most of the surrounding areas. Alternatively the bus arrives and departs along the coast twice a day for Melbourne. There is also a local taxi service. Other Things to NotePoint of View is the ideal location for a honeymoon, romantic getaway or just a few days exploring the Great Ocean Road. Each day is a new experience at Point of View with stunning rainbows, threatening storm fronts, soaring eagles, king parrots, kookaburras and wrens galore, the occasional wallaby, the sparkling blue ocean, glistening moon rise over the water or the twinkling lights of Apollo Bay. The SpaceThe Bay Beach Bungalow is a modern, studio style property, perfect for a lazy weekend break or as a base to spend a few days exploring the Great Ocean Road and the Otways, with all their waterfalls, scenic drives and coastal walks. The Bungalow is located directly across the road from the main beach and one minutes walk to great cafes, restaurants and shops. It is a two minute walk from the bus stop. The fit out is casual and stylish, featuring designer furniture and original artworks from local artists. There is a selection of teas as well as fair trade plunger coffee. There are plenty of wine glasses, and lots of cooking implements. All linen is supplied. There is a Weber BBQ on the deck and a pot of fresh herbs growing to help with the cooking!! No ocean views unfortunately. Close to all the attractions on the Great Ocean Road. Bread and fruit for breakfast are provided. The SpaceThe apartment is really best suited to a couple, with room for a small bed for a baby or young child. Our family lives in the house above, and at times there may be some normal, light household noise. We aim to keep this to a minimum, especially at night. The apartment has a kitchenette which is suitable for food preparation but not cooking. Guest AccessThe apartment has an outside deck, wifi and basic cooking facilities within the kitchenette. We do not encourage extensive cooking as there is inadequate ventilation required to remove cooking smells. If you do use the kitchen facilities, we ask you to leave it as you found it and wash and dry all dishes. Interaction with GuestsWe like to greet our guests upon arrival, but will then leave you to enjoy the best of what the area has to offer. Of course we are happy to offer advice and recommendations if requested.     The SpaceSeascape offers excellent kitchen and cooking facilities, a huge spa, two-person shower, wood fire and BBQ. Both bedrooms have a balcony and spectacular views of The Otway Ranges and The Bass Strait. Guest AccessGuests have access to all facilities in the apartment. Linen and dog linen is supplied. Washing machine and dryer are available. There are two separate bathrooms and bedrooms, which have king beds. A fold-out queen sofa bed is available for extra guests. Interaction with GuestsI will meet the guests, should they require it, however there is a key lock safe which is accessible to all guests and the code is supplied upon booking. The NeighborhoodThe uninterrupted views of The Otway Ranges, the ocean views and ability to walk with or without their pets anywhere in and around Apollo Bay. The fact that one does not require a car to access the restaurants, shops, beaches and cafes, is an enormous plus. Getting AroundThere is a taxi service available and the VLine bus comes from Melbourne twice daily. A car is preferable if guests are wanting to see the waterfalls and tourist sights.     The SpacePosition, position, position!!. Perfect distance for walking to the beach and the town centre. Great base to organise your Great Ocean Walk or day trips in the car. Lovely quiet comfortable cottage to relax and read a book. Guest AccessGuests have the run of the entire house. It is set up well equipped for cooking and has an extra shower attached to the laundry. It has a fully fenced yard, back and front which makes it safe for small children. There is a carport on the property with space for one car under cover. A second car can park in the driveway behind the first car. Interaction with GuestsWe don't need to have any interaction with guests as we do not live in the cottage. We prefer to let people enjoy their stay without the owner hovering around! That being said, we are on the other end of the phone if any help or tourist advice is needed. The NeighborhoodApollo Bay's beach is huge and uncrowded and, even in Winter, you can enjoy it as long as you have a warm coat! In Summer swimming, surfing and kayaking are enjoyed. Fishing is possible either from a boat or from the beach or the pier. The town is small and friendly and we are lucky, for such a small isolated place, to have some great eating places. We also have a lovely book shop, 2 shoe shops and a hairdresser!! The Otways are at our doorstep with fantastic walking and mountainbiking. The Great Ocean Walk starts in Apollo Bay and meanders for 91 km if you feel that way inclined. The little town of Forrest is a 20 minute drive into the Otways. For mountain bikers it offers world class trails. They suit both beginners and experts. Forrest is host to the annual Otway Odyssey 100 km mountain bike marathon and the Kona 24 hour endurance event. It's a slow scenic drive from Geelong Apollo Bay. On some days it goes through to Warrnambool. There is a community bus which runs on Wednesday to Colac and back. Other Things to NoteThe bed sizes are as follows: The main bedroom has a queen size. The second bedroom has 4 bunk beds. One is a double and the other 3 are singles. We are now offering full linen service with provision of hotel quality white linen and big fluffy white towels. The beds have comfortable doonas with covers on. If you wish to save money, you are welcome to bring your own sheets, towels, bathmat and tea towels. We can offer a discount if you wish to bring your own.

The Studio has a modern, stylish fit-out, great for a weekend get-away, or for longer stays to give time to explore the Otways with all its waterfalls, scenic drives and coastal walks. There is a private deck with views to the ocean and the hills, great for a lazy drink in the afternoon or a cuppa in the morning with the paper. There is a queen size bed fitted with designer linen and features european pillows and electric blankets. The kitchen is fully self contained and there is a selection of T2 teas as well as grinders fair trade coffee and a plunger. Milk is provided.There is a good selection of wine glasses, and plenty of cooking gear. The studio has its own private outdoor dining area with a BBQ. The bed configuration is master bedroom queen bed, second bedroom double bed and third bedroom is another double bed. There is also a porta cot and high chair in the home if required for an infant. Guest AccessLocated just under 1km from the town shops, & beach, the house has an open plan kitchen living dining area making this house the perfect place to relax and unwind with friends and family. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, gas stove cook top and electric oven. With the koonara wood fire heater warming the home in the family room whilst you watch the TV or a DVD or in the summer months there are ceiling fans for cooling. Please keep in mind that the TV reception in Apollo Bay is far from great and can drop in and out with the weather. Also, the koonara wood heater is the only form of heating for the house, wood is supplied for your stay. One bathroom with shower and separate toilet, laundry with front loader washing machine, iron & ironing board. There is a rear deck accessible from the kitchen that captures the morning sunshine and has a BBQ. Whilst the smaller front deck and grassed area has the afternoon sun making it a nice place to relax. The small yard is fully fenced making this a secure place for your children or pets to play.       The SpaceWe have always loved little beach houses, so we decided to build one. Of course, it is obligatory for a beach house to have a beach.....ours is opposite. You will find comfortable accommodation for one or two people in our new, open plan, little house. We like that the architect included a sliding wall that can open the living area to the outside deck on sunny days. We also like that we can batten down the hatches in winter and turn on the log fire. The bedroom has its own little deck too, just because..... There is plenty of cooking equipment. Yes, wineglasses, coffee and teas included. All linen is provided. Guest AccessThe property is yours, but you have to share the beach! Interaction with GuestsWe will leave you alone. There is a key safe and general information (including our phone number) inside the house. The Neighborhood Apollo Bay is beautiful. It straggles around its harbour at the foot of the Otway Ranges, looking out to the mighty Southern Ocean. It is a sea change kind of place with real live locals. You will find locals fishing around the harbour, playing golf or footy, walking in the national parks, surfing, swimming and at the Saturday market- we don't mind a chat or a coffee either. Open bright and airy this space is homely and pet friendly. There is a large deck at the front with an outside table which sits 8.. It is north facing so it attracts beautiful sunlight throughout the day.. Do note the pond with goldfish if you have any littlies... For the cooler days the lounge is spacious and well heated and has 2 couches and a big screen tv with apple tv, dvd player and a top end samsung bluetooth stereo. There is also off street parking a barbecue and an outdoor weights area. And a covered deck at the back to watch the rain from... Guest AccessThe house is located behind the white house you see at the front. It is down the drive way on the left... Go through the carport and the keys will simply be available to you in a bucket on the deck at the back door. If you have booked and paid for the fourth bedroom this is accessed independently to the house from the back deck.. It is a perfect base to explore the regions extraordinary natural wonders - the 12 apostles, Maits Rest Rainforest and the Great Ocean Walk to name a few. A beautiful part of the world where I feel privileged to call home. If dining out La Bimba is a buzzy cafe with great food and coffee and the best views in Apollo Bay. By night it transforms into a sophisticated restaurant focused on local sustainable whole fish and ethical meats from their farm and the region. It also serves up some spectacular vegetable options. Getting AroundThe house has one carapace undercover and three more spaces on the driveway.. The town is easy walking distance as is the beach which is across the road from the town.. Apollo Bay also has a Vline bus service which drives the coast rd back towards Geelong. From here there is a train which delivers you into Melbourne's CBD... Other Things to NoteThe additional charge per person is related to the use of a third and fourth bedroom. The layout is 2 queen rooms and a double room. This is a first floor studio and has stairs leading up to the room. Underneath this studio is our Cosy Beach Break Studio which also sleeps 2 or if a couple of friends wish to book together but stay separate . Lovely and warm in winter, but also cool in summer with our split system to meet all temperatures . Guest AccessThere is a small cafe style table and chairs on the balcony to take in the views with your coffee. Wifi is available and free. You can enjoy an early morning coffee and watch the sun on the hills while you listen to the waves crashing from the nearby beach. Interaction with GuestsWe shall be around most of the time as we live on the premises as well. Guests are able to come and go as they please as each studio apartment has a separate entry. But please feel free to stop us if you want to chat or ask anything . We live upstairs at the back part of the house. You are completely left alone if you wish so but we are here if you need us. You can park on the drive way, the grass part of the garden or on the road. We don't mind as long as you don't block the neighbours entrances. An extensive deck out front with views to relax or enjoy a bar-b-q and second smaller deck out the back of the house. But you can enjoy the views just as much from inside. Relax and enjoy! The house boasts a kitchen with full amenities, open plan living & dining room, four bedrooms, ensuite bathroom with spa bath and separate shower, 2nd bathroom with shower and vanity. Laundry facilities with washer and drier. A large TV in the living room and Bose stereo to connect to your phone or iPad. A small TV in the single room. We don't provide Wifi, but 4G network is available if you have wifi on your phone. Sufficient parking in driveway for 2 - 3 cars off the road. Luxuriate in lazy mornings in a king size bed with ocean views and for those bedrooms that don't have ocean views, the property is surrounded by gum trees and beautiful sunlight.       The SpaceThe relaxation starts as soon as you step through the door. Park your car in the driveway and have an easy 5 minute flat stroll to absolutely everything, beach, shops and the marina beyond. The house is spacious and modern with beautiful gardens. Available for your holiday enjoyment is Sea La Vie, a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom modern home with lovely decking and gardens. The lounge room features up to date furnishings with double French doors giving you a stunning vista of the garden and the Otway hill's in the distance. These doors open onto the front deck, perfect for leaving surfboards, boogie boards and the like or as we do for young children to play on whilst parents are resting in the lounge area. It's a real entertainer too, if your that way inclined, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking with loads of bench space and is equipped with platters, blender and wok. There is a large dining table seating 6 spaciously and more chairs can be easily added, there are also deck chairs available. In winter here when you are not out for strolls along the beach or fishing you can relax by the Conara wood fire place, watch tv on the plasma or listen to your favourite tunes on the iPod compatible stereo system (please take conversion adapter if you have an iPod or iPhone 5). There is a choice of books or magazines to flick through and toys for young children. Additional heating is available through the split system which features heating and air conditioning. There are 3 large bedrooms - the main features a walk in robe and en-suite which adds to the comfort for 2 groups. Linen will be provided in accordance with the number of people booked for the stay. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed and trundle sofa and the 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds as well as a trundle sofa. The trundles are comfortable to sleep on. The family bathroom is large, with a double shower and full bath. The back garden features a deck with a 4 burner BBQ, timber outdoor table with outdoor umbrella and deck chairs.           The Beach Holiday Cottage in Apollo Bay is a cute 2 bedroom cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay in gorgeous Apollo Bay on Victoria's famous Great Ocean Road. The house in beautifully located a short walk of 200 metres from the beach. It is also walking distance (a few minutes) to the shops in the centre of town if you want to leave the car behind. The property is fully fenced making it perfect for families with children. There are covered verandas on 3 sides making outdoor relaxation very nice. There is a shady backyard as well. There is safe covered parking for your car under the carport. We provide lovely white hotel quality sheets and fluffy white towels to make your stay comfortable. Each bed is provided with a warm doona and doona cover. Soap is provided in the bathroom. The house is not flashy and pretentious but is rather more a character cottage. It is cosy and clean, has all that you need and feels like home. Although this cottage is new to Flip Key we have had many satisfied holiday tenants over more than 6 years. We have people stay all year round. Even Winter is quite charming in our lovely coastal town! A short stay in Apollo Bay is great but a long stay is fantastic! Apollo Bay is a small fishing town on Victoria's West Coast. It is home to a charming harbour and stunning beaches. It is far enough away from the big smoke to be quiet and unspoilt. It sits under the Otways mountains next to the ocean. It is beautiful and gives access to waterfalls, rainforest, stunning coastal driving. The world famous Great Ocean Road is on our doorstep giving you access to the Twelve Apostles, the Bay of Islands, the Bay of Martyrs and the other famous sites along the way. A day trip to the Twelve Apostles (actually I think there are only 7 of them left!!) is a must. There is a well trodden Otways Harvest path which takes in the local produce of the area. A day trip to the Apostles can take in the chocolates at Great Ocean Road Chocolates and the fantastic cheeses of L'Artisan Cheese made by French cheese maker, Matthieu Megard at the little town of Timboon. We are the start point for the 91 km stretch which is known as the Great Ocean Walk. This walk takes in 8 stages with camp sites at the end of each stage for those who like the outdoor life. For those who prefer a proper bed, shuttle services are available for day walkers. We can help you in organising a walking trip if needed. For outdoor adventure enthusiasts the area offers hiking, surfing, road cycling and world class mountain biking trails just 20 minutes away in the town of Forrest in the Otways ranges above Apollo Bay. The local hang glider and paraglider pilots enjoy the local coastal flying site at Marriners Lookout, just behind the town of Apollo Bay A quiet time can be had for those who are less adventurous. Strolls on the beach, visits to Apollo Bay's many excellent cafes and restaurants, browsing the bookshop, an afternoon of pampering at the Day Spa or the Hairdresser... all these things can be enjoyed within 5 minutes of our lovely Beach Holiday Cottage. Barham Hill Retreat offers a Cottage or a Studio Apartment. The Cottage is a fully self contained with one bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and seperate lounge area with fire place. Perfect for a couple, but also includes a sofa bed to accomodate an extra couple or family members. (from $230p/n) Contact owner for special deals. The studio apartment, which is seperate to the cottage, accomodates two people. It has a seperate lounge area, ensuite. Equipped with Tea, Coffee, Toaster, Microwave, and BBQ facilities.
