The SpaceBellago has magnificent views of Lake Eildon. Other Things to NoteNo pets allowed The road on the property is a gravel road. It is steep in parts and it is therefore recommended that you have a 4WD vehicle. No smoking in the house. No motorbikes or dirt bikes on the property.

The Great Victorian Rail Trail passes through bonnie Doon. 134km from Mansfield to Tallarook with an offshoot to Alexandra. The SpaceYou know we are only 40 minutes from Mt Buller/Mt Stirling. With ski season coming up, our home could be just what you are looking for... Artists, Friends and Family say there is something very special about this property. We really are only the custodians. This space is for people to relax, enjoy, rejuvenate and dream. The surroundings are spectacular in a cull surrounded by hills, with views to the lake. There is a fabulous Mandela vegetable garden (help yourself-strawberries are in season). Pick your fruit from the lemon, lime , grapefruit and orange trees. Grapes straight from the vine into your breakfast cereal - like I did this morning! There are 4 bedrooms, sunroom, bathroom, toliet, kitchen, dining and living room. You are just down the road from the Tallarook to Mansfield rail trail, or you can walk, cycle to Bonnie Doon. There's an abundance of wildlife, fabulous views and just plain country living at its best! We have our own 3 sheep on the property, they keep to themselves. You have access to use of the whole house, whilst you stay. As your hosts, we will make sure our home is warm and inviting for you. Help yourself to a 'Leg of Local Lamb' from our freezer. Enjoy! What we love about the neighbourhood, is that our neighbours are nearby and we all keep an eye out for each other. It's a very friendly place - Bonnie Doon - and you will be made to feel most welcome. It is the 'Serenity' - the 'Castle' (that classic Australian family film ) is just 5 mins down the road. You will need your own car to get around. Fancy picking grapes straight from the vines to add to your breakfast cereal, then just step outside the house.... there's strawberry patches around our home - pick and pop into your champagne. You are most welcome to pick the produce that is in season ... Also, note, we have an amazing spice drawer - please use what you need. That goes for the pantry as well. Linen is provided. So, really you just have to get yourselves here, settle in and stock up on supplies in Mansfield. The basic supplies (tea, coffe, milk, sugar, oil etc are here for you to use). Guest AccessGuests will have access to the full house. There is no access to shed or office. Interaction with GuestsWe will ensure that our home will produce the aahs upon your arrival! There will be a welcoming letter with list of the in/outs of the house, the area etc.Arrangements for key collection will be made prior. Any problems just give us a call and we can sort out. The NeighborhoodWhat I love is that everyone looks out for each other and their properties. You do not have the feeling of isolation, yet are far enough away that you have your own privacy. Getting AroundThere is no public transport. You will need your own car to get around. The nearest town of Bonnie Doon is just over 5 mins by car and Mansfield is 20 mins away. Other Things to NoteOur home is not precious - it has a loved in feeling. It has a lot of character, which we hope you enjoy....some parts are a tad jaded, that's life. We are not a boutique accommodation as reflected in our pricing....

Makes the best gift for Christmas birthdays anniversaries. Share it with friends or family, surprise them and get a buzz from their reaction when you tell them this is where they're spending a few nights. The house has been renovated to a modern retro feel. The Castle has a poolroom that can sleep onother 2-3 guests. You need to book this space sepretly. THE CASTLE has a BBQ on the front verandah set with table and chairs for casual dining, take in THE SERENITY or just SMELL THE TWO STROKE. Inside are 2 bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed, and an electric blanket with extra blankets on top of the cupboards for the cold winter months. In the front room there is also a fold out single bed. The kitchen is set up with tea towels, plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, glasses, cups, plates, platters. Tea, coffee, milk and basics for cooking such as, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, herbs, and spices. dishwasher, microwave, electric stove/oven, A refurbished 60's retro dining table. Adjoining the kitchen is a cozy sitting area where you can sit around the fire place, read a book, make a mug, make some crafts, play on the carroms gameboard table or play a selection of other board games, cleverly located is also where a split system heater/Airconditioning, it cools/warms the hole house. A large opening through to the lounge room is where you will find a TV and DVD player with a selection of DVD's and a Playstation, with a selection of game. Two cozy retro armchairs with a large sofa. The bathroom is also next to the sitting room, it has a large shower, vanity and toilet. Walk through to find the laundry with washing machine and dryer. The door here will take you to the back yard where you will find a pool table with a twist, we have had loads of fun and laughter, putting it to the test, definitely my 'IDEAS MAN' favourite. The gravel path will take you straight to 'THE POOLROOM'. If you have 7 guests staying, you can also book this space. Min use of the poolroom is 125 a night. Max 150 6th person will pay 125 7th person will only pay 25 I will have to deduct cost as there isn't an allowance for so much versatility. This clever room has an en-suite, a kitchenette area, a retro table, a TV and two single beds. this will cater for your additional 2 guests.         Lakeside Retreat is our family holiday home. We cannot use it as much as we want to so we are renting it out for others to enjoy. The house is set on 1 acre and has direct water access on a 5 knot bay which makes swimming, kayaking and floating around in the water safe. The house has 3 bedrooms that sleep 9, two lounge rooms so kids can go up one end and watch a DVD and parents can sit and relax down the other end. There is a large outdoor setting under the pergola and you have use of a gas BBQ or a Weber BBQ. We are on Tank Water so therefore you need to be mindful of water usage therefore there is no access to washing machine during stay. This is a cosy holiday house that has recently had a kitchen upgrade. There are 2 living areas (each with TV's and DVD players and lots of movies) and 1 bathroom. It is a sloping block and access with a 4 wheel or all wheel drive is recommended although driven the right way any car is able to access the property. There is no capability to tow down the driveway and no boat mooring access on the property. If you have a boat that you are wanting to moor, the owner will let you know the closest place to put the boat in and where to store the trailer. The Taylor Bay area of Lake Eildon is unique in that access to the Lake is only possible through private land. Large signs on the no-through road entrance to the Bay declare that there are no facilities available to the general public. Taylor Bay is located just 7 mins. from Eildon and 15 mins. from the dam wall. Eildon is approximately 2 hours drive from Melbourne along the Maroondah Highway. Lake Eildon National Park covers 24,000 Hectares of natural beautiful bushland around the shores of Lake Eildon. The shoreline of the lake is 550km's. The Lake Eildon and Eildon area offers many and varied attractions, places to see and things to do. One attraction to many is do nothing, just laze away, catch up on some well deserved rest and take in the views of peaceful surroundings. Snobs Falls, the hatchery, boat harbours, Mt Pininger, or perhaps a picnic beside a river, opens up many possibilities to anyone wanting to wind down from city life. Some beautiful views await the four wheel drive owner, as the many tracks, have always been a favorite natural attraction to visitors wishing to explore for themselves. The park with its flora, fauna, and short walking tracks are a State treasure. Visitors wishing to explore nature can access other parks in the area which are an easy side trip from Eildon.         The house is a mid 80s cedar clad house, situated on 5 acres of land with a premium water front position on Lake Eildon. There is vehicle access to the lake (4WD recommended) and a floating pontoon jetty for your personal use. (Swimming, fishing or mooring your boat there is no need to run your boat up on the bank here). Water is always out front of property however lower water levels mean the water is further from the front. However you are still watching the boats pass from the verandah. The house comprises of 4 Bedrooms with queen-sized beds in 3 of the rooms and 2 single beds in the fourth room, two bathrooms, and two toilet. Full laundry with washer, dryer and also outside clothes line. The living room has cathedral ceilings and overlooks the lake with floor to ceiling windows over the entire length of the wall and a massive deck is accessed via double doors from this living room and also via external stairs. The living room has a Coonara heater for cold winter nights and reverse cycle air conditioning for the warm summer nights. All bedrooms and living areas have ceiling fans. A fully appointed kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, 2 refrigerators (one in laundry) and dishwasher and all the plates and utensils you would need. The house has a massive deck overlooking the lake with large fixed umbrella and table for 10 people. The deck enjoys the morning and early afternoon sun and often has numerous birds that visit for a feed. These include Parrots, Rosella's, Cockatoo's and Kookaburras. There is a rear courtyard for if you need a break from the lake views and faces into the bush where on occasions the odd kangaroo comes bounding through. The property is enjoyable to walk through and has many views of the lake and wildlife. There are no pets permitted on the property as this is to encourage the wildlife to remain and also we don't allow pets inside for hygiene and allergy reasons. Smoking is NOT permitted inside. Extras A refundable security bond is of $500 minimum is required (a higher security bond is required for some groups) A scanned photo ID (drivers licence) of the person making the booking is required. (No photo ID no Booking) All bedding is supplied however YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN LINEN AND TOWELS. We can provide linen and towels on request for an extra cost. Driveway access & Boat trailer access limitations Like many Taylor Bay properties the access track to the property is steep and has very tight bends. At times the driveway can be a bit rough. A low sports car would have difficulty using the access track as do front wheel drive cars. We use the access track with a rear wheel drive car (all year) however trailer access to the house and lake is limited and not recommended. Some people may find the access track a bit challenging however once down the access track you have premium lake access and water views, and a floating jetty to moor your boats. On one occasion after extreme weather (50mm rain in 2 hours) a delay in exiting the property occurred the vehicle a people mover van had to wait a couple of hours for the track to recover. We have also had reports of front wheel drive cars at times having trouble exiting the property. If you have concerns with the driveway please don't hesitate to discuss these concerns with the owner. Some guests have launched small boats & jet skis from the property however a 4wd tow vehicle is recommended as depending on the lake conditions a vehicle may become easily bogged. Towing a trailer up the driveway with a 2WD car would be challenging, or impossible and certainly damaging to the track. The owners recommend that water craft are launched at the public boat ramp at Fraser National Park or the Eildon wall boat ramp and moored at the jetty for duration of the stay. Trailers can be left inside the property at the top of the access track. Please contact owners for details about driveway access and trailer access limitations. Be aware that during periods of low water in the lake, the floating jetty may not be located immediately out front of the house but it will be located in a suitable and safe position as close as is practable, however water is always out front of the property. A kitchen with all the comforts of home, including a dishwasher and view across our lakes, ensures that cooking a meal of an evening is a pleasant experience. There is a Weber BBQ on the front veranda which is a guest favourite with many memorable nights being hosted there over the past 15 years. The two bedrooms are private with a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. There is a shared en suite bathroom located between the two bedrooms. The cottage was constructed from mud brick and ensures that the building remains cool in summer and warm in winter, making it an ideal place to stay at any time of the year. We have also installed a powerful split system to ensure that you remain comfortable regardless of the weather. Those staying in the cottage have access to our private catch and release lake fishery for the duration of their stay. That is from 12 noon on the day of arrival until 12 noon on the day of departure. Guests can also access wireless internet at our main lodge during business hours; a short 40 metre walk away. Check-in is from 12.30pm on the day of your arrival and departure is strictly 10.30am the morning of departure. Bag storage can be arranged at any time. For those who do not want to cook, meals are available at both the Rubicon Hotel and at the Four Ways Diner that is open late every night. Both are located 250 metres away (<2 min walk). There are also many options within a short drive including Rennnies at Acheron, Giddy Goat Cafe at Yarck and numerous hotels in Alexandra. Ask if you need a recommendation. The Goulburn River and it's excellent trout fishing runs through the back of our property; a short 100m walk from the cottage. The Rubicon River is a two minute drive away. Lake Eildon is 14km away also. Thornton is the epicentre for trout fishing in the Goulburn Valley. Our property is mostly fly fishing only but we do have a lake that only contains redfin that we allow guests to fish with single hooked lures. Those wishing to learn to fly fish can do so as we have professional instructors available every day. For those seeking to refine their previously acquired fly fishing skills, we have guides and drift boat fly fishing trips available as well. Fly fishing gear can be rented if you don't have your own. Be sure to ask. Our lakes are stocked with both brown and rainbow trout, Golden Perch (Yellowbelly) and we also have a very healthy population of larger redfin. We also have a ton of yabbies should you wish to take the kids 'yabbie hunting'. Our property is home to many species of birds including Kingfishers, Egrets, Cormorants, Ducks, Pukekos, Kookaburras, Parrots and many more. These can all be observed from the deck of the cottage and many bird photographers stay with us to chase the Kingfishers that hunt the lake edges every afternoon. There are good running trails nearby as well as mountain biking and canoeing/kayaking on the Goulburn River. We are also near to the waterskiing and fishing at Eildon Lake.         Description The house is situated on 1 acres of land with water front, providing uninterrupted views overlooking the lake and treetop of lake Eldon. This comes with glorious wildlife including lots of kangaroos and bird life. The house comprises of two bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen-sized bed, with access to the deck, through a sliding door. The second room comprises of a Trio bed as well as one bunk bed. The living room has cathedral ceilings and overlooks the lake with floor to ceiling windows over the entire length of the wall and the deck is accessed via a sliding door from this living room as well as the master bedroom. A fully appointed kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and all the plates and utensils you would need. The house has a nice deck overlooking the lake with a large table and benches. The deck enjoys the morning and afternoon sun and often has numerous birds that visit for a feed. These include Parrots, Roselle’s, Cockatoos and Kookaburras. There are no pets permitted on the property as this is to encourage the wildlife to remain and also we don't allow pets inside for hygiene and allergy reasons. Also smoking is NOT permitted inside. 10 minutes drive to Eildon CBD A great place to stay in summer for boating, fishing and swimming, etc, but also great for a lovely peaceful break in autumn/winter in front one of the best and most luxerious Europian wood heaters. A private pontoon is directly located in front of the property for your personal use for fishing or boat mooring. Please note that the driveway access to the property is not suitable for boat on a trailer and is strongly not recommended. However boats can be launched from the public boat ramp and moored right in front of the property at the private pontoon. Please note that the property and surrounds are located in a natural environment with direct access to the lake and as a result is open to inherent risks.
