The SpaceSleepy Wombat Cottage is a fully self-contained forest retreat, yet is only minutes away from the vibrant village of Warburton. The riverside township bustles with cafe's and quirky shops and is host to a delightful range of festivals from comedy, film, harmony, Nordic and many more. The romantic spa cottage provides all the cosy comforts for a relaxing getaway. Recline on the sofa in front of a crackling wood fire or sit outside on a balmy summer evening listening to the wildlife or feeding the birds. For the more active minded the cottage is perfectly located close to the Warburton river walk or a few minutes drive to the rainforest gallery and Mount Donna Buang itself. Literally at the bottom of the hill is the locally renowned COG cafe where you can hire bikes to explore the Warburton trail. Golf and tennis are also within a stones throw. The cupboards are well stocked with a selection of teas, coffee and cooking condiments. Picnic basket and rug are ready for you to take on your outings. Deciding on activities is made easy with information on local attractions, maps, menus, bike hire, tours and event calendar available. Torches are also on hand for night-time possum or wombat spotting or to guide you up the track from a night out in the village. Note that the gravel track to the cottage is approximately 700m long. It is suitable for all vehicles but is steep and bumpy in places! Guest AccessThe Cottage is truly a forest retreat and is accessed by a track leading from just behind the main street & police station up through the private property for 700m to the Cottage. The track is gravel and steep in places, however is suitable for all vehicles. We aim to maintain the surrounding forest as a haven for wildlife. The property is fully sustainable for water and uses 100% green electricity. We ask that you respect the environment and minimse your footprint. The property supports permaculture styled local produce growing and there is a small orchard behind the cottage. The cottage is not suitable for young children as there is an unfenced dam on the property and in wintertime the wood fire is a risk to small fingers. Babies may however be accommodated and a port-a-cot is available on request. Interaction with GuestsPrivacy at Sleepy Wombat Cottage is assured as it is the only guest accommodation on the hosts 13 acre property. Guests are welcome to call up to the residential house or ring the hosts if they would like local recommendations. Getting AroundThe 700m track from the cottage leads directly to the heart of Warburton, directly behind the Police station and the central bus stop. If arriving by bus we will happily meet you and bring you up the hill with your bags etc if we are available. Other Things to NoteWeekend stays of 2-nights are offered at discount rate of $420 Stay for 2-nights or more and provisions for you to prepare a sumptuous cooked breakfast (bacon, eggs, tomatoes, beans, bread & juice) on the first morning of your stay are included in the tariff - please let us know if you prefer vegetarian or gluten free options. Many attractions are within walking, or riding distance in Warby. Casita has enough space outside for a couple of bicycles. Guests have their own private entrance on the left hand side of the main house. The SpaceWe live on 40 magnificently private acres on the Little Yarra River outside Yarra Junction in the Upper Yarra Valley with views to die for and tame kangaroos called Brynn and her baby, Rockin' Robyn. There are wonderful restaurants and wineries close by and gorgeous walks on the Yarra Trail (also on our property down to the river) Watch the horses grazing, pick from the fruit trees, play with the 2 golden retrievers (Gilbert and Sullivan) and cuddle with Felix the cat. I could imagine this as ideal for someone wishing to spend some time writing at their very own country retreat or visiting what is virtually a wildlife retreat. Ride bikes, go for breakfast, walk or spend time by the pool. Many people come intending to go off for the day and decide to stay here all day instead. During the day it is 100% quiet. In this area you need a car as there is no public transport. PS if you would like your own ensuite and the mountain view, instead of the garden, try the Wombat Room on Airbnb Guest AccessGuests have access to all amenities as required. Just ask. PS I have spare isolated paddocks for anyone wanting to bring their own horse. I know what it is like to go away and leave the 'boys' behind! Interaction with GuestsWe are flexible. Please tell us if you would like to be left alone, otherwise we are likely to offer cheese and wine. The NeighborhoodWe love our neighbourhood, because we have no close neighbours! It feels totally isolated with a vast view across the forest and mountains. Safeways is 5 minutes away if you need anything and Warburton is 10 min away. The Warburton trail is a gem and brings bikes! Getting AroundThere is little public transport in the Yarra Valley. However, Hermann loves driving, so if you need a drive we are happy to arrange something for you. Other Things to NoteWe know lots of people in the valley and can put you in touch with people to go rafting or biking or therapeutic massage o(URL HIDDEN) PS On this property we always carry a mobile phone wherever we go for safety. The spacious second sitting room upstairs, with a wide ironbark timber balcony and furnished with a comfortable leather Moran sofa bed, also easily accommodates an extra couple if required. While the property has been in the family for decades, and features a beautiful old English garden, Hazelwood Studio has just been completed, and no expense has been spared in providing every modern comfort: from the Miele kitchen and walk-in pantry to the roomy Moran leather lounges in both sitting rooms; from the sawn bluestone-paved verandahs to the polished Jarrah floorboards; from the imported English Axminster carpet to 50,000 litres of pure Yarra Ranges rain water at your disposal. Interaction with GuestsYou will be provided with all the information necessary in for you to enjoy the property. This will be communicated by email and in the compendium on site. The NeighborhoodIf you want peace and quiet, simply relax on our own property, cooking an easy lunchtime BBQ, or sipping a Yarra Valley sparkling on the upstairs deck in the afternoon sun, then watching as it slips behind Mount Victoria. Wake to the call of birds in the forest, wet with early morning dew. Chat by the open fire in the old wooden hut, or dine outside in the old-world garden under the leafy oaks, maples and hazelnut trees. Watch for tadpoles emerging as frogs in the pond, serenaded by our resident lyre birds, or get up close and personal with our curious kookaburras and king parrots. You can sit outside on the covered verandah on a warm day, with your favorite music playing through our high quality Bose speakers. You can even take a walk down to the pristine Yarra river in the bottom paddock, if you are feeling a little more energetic, past the wetlands and onto the river flats among the giant river gums. Try your luck to catch rainbow trout and crayfish and help yourself to our veggie garden and fruit trees to create a feast! Hazelwood Studio also makes an excellent base from which to explore the Yarra Valley and surrounding mountains. Forty-five minutes will take you to Domaine Chandon, and the many other renowned wineries and historic houses of the area. You can get acquainted with the native animals in Healesville Sanctuary thirty-five minutes away; go ballooning at sunrise from Yarra Glen, toboggan on Mt Donna Buang in winter, hike on one of Warburton’s many local trails in any season, or bring your bikes and ride the 38 km Warburton Rail Trail. Book in immediately, and thank yourself on arrival, for the duration of your stay, and for weeks thereafter. No fuss, genuine Luxury. -Hugo Farrant ---- What can I say, wow!!!! I decided last minute to spend a couple of nights at the Natural Healing Space with the hope to reconnect, ground myself and start to shift forward. And I got that plus much more. Being completely taken care of by Nathan was so refreshing, he oozes love and brings about a complete sense of calmness that helps to facilitate all that you need from your time with him. The divine wholesome food, the incredible chai I am now craving, the mud brick detoxing sauna, plunge pool, bath under the stars and forest walks was all so amazing. I cannot wait to go back again! Thank you Nathan! Laura Colbert -2015 ---- After staying here with a friend in April it has taken until now to write a review because I thought maybe if I visited again the words to give justice to Natural Healing Space might come. After my third visit last weekend I still lack the expression to encapsulate how it makes me feel when I am there. It's a dream space for me, like something I dreampt up as child, it is magic, lush and loving. Nathan is so humble, so warm and so welcoming. He attends so lovingly and so gently to his guests. His nature reverberates through the living space and throughout the property. Each guest space has its own unique feel, its hard to choose a favourite. The clay sauna is something extra special, the hot tub under the stars and roaring open fire create a heaven on earth. The food, chocy chais, smoothies, coconut water, lemon grass tea, raw desserts and everything that Nathan touches is pure delightfulness, I am truly in awe of him and the vision he has brought to life. I feel so blessed to have been invited to be a guest here and can not recommend it enough. Natural Healing Space is my ideal get away, there are so many divine details that need to be experienced and felt . You are guaranteed a sublime and enchanted experience. Thank You so much for this creation Kellie Curtis -2015 --------- I don't even have words to describe the beauty, love and care that surrounds this lush space. Thank you Nathan for an incredible weekend of indulgence, relaxation and nourishment. I felt nurtured from the moment we arrived with the most heartfelt consideration that has been put into every detail. The uplifting and warming teas, the delicious and healthy soul food, the enchanting lighting, the exquisite accommodation... I could go on and on. And of course the obvious perfection of the earthen sauna and hot tub under the stars. Blissful, divine yumminess on every level. I can't wait to return. The SpaceOff grid living means that you can have an eco friendly break. The home is run on solar. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and a bunk in the kids room. There is also a trundle bed in the kids room and a day bed in the lounge. This light filled home offers views into the beautiful bush all around. Guest AccessThere is a large block with plenty of bush to mess about in. The block backs onto more bush, brilliant for bush walks. You're welcome to pick some veggies or herbs. The whole place is yours for the stay, shared with the abundant local bird life. Interaction with GuestsNot a high degree of interaction as we live in Melbourne. We are available on the phone or through airbnb. The NeighborhoodA short walk down the hill leads to the creek and further along, the historic Reefton Hotel. Behind the house is a Melbourne Water aquaduct, perfect for walking along. Getting AroundParking on site and a car is required to explore the wider area. Other Things to NoteThe home is close to lots of beautiful places. There are local swimming holes in the Yarra River, visits to the National Parks, the rail trail in Warburton and lots of bbq places at the Upper Yarra Reservoir. There is a microwave, fridge and stove top, but no oven. We have a slow cooker up there which is great to run through the day when the sun is providing free electricity. The batteries store electricity for use at night, but we try to limit our electricity consumption once the sun sets. As we are fed from untreated rainwater, we provide separate drinking water. For longer stays you may like to bring some extra supplies. The only heating is from the wood fireplace, we have plenty of wood for you to use. As we have created an off grid retreat with the intention of treading gently, there is no cooling.

The SpaceMin 2 nights This is a unique property built by a well-known meditation teacher as a healing retreat. Completely isolated, it is a hexagon with glass walls and a cellar. The property is 40 acres and set in the Little Yarra Valley offshoot of the Upper Yarra Valley. Our house is located on a high island of the valley with views that stunn. We have approx 700 metres of Little Yarra River frontage with several acres of rain-forest (wet sclerophyll). There is also a pine forest and walks everywhere. We even have an old gold mine! Style The house is made from wood, much of which, I understand, was origianlly cut from the property. I like to think it is a bit 'African Safari', it is the perfect excuse to escape the city and enjoy a more peaceful way of life. Why is our house unique? Everyone who comes to the house adores it. They gasp at the views, revel in the serenity and marvel at the connection to nature. We have 200 kangaroos on the lawn and wombats by the pool at night. In addition to staying at our lovely house, we also provide the following so you can really enjoy your stay: - A bottle of locally produced wine - A pet kangaroo (always a winner) - A magnificnet horizon pool setting with barbecue - We have Wifi The Kitchen - A walk-in pantry with all of the basic cooking condiments including locally produced olive oil, salt/pepper, spices, herbs, flour, sugar, tea, coffee etc. - Dishwasher - Vintage 1950s Kelvinator fridge - Bread-maker, slow-cooker, juicer. - Microwave - Double Liebherr fridge The Bathroom - Completely renovated - Our water is all natural from the tank. The pressure and supply is excellent The Bedrooms Our house has three large bedrooms with 3 double beds. We do have extra mattresses if required and can comfortably sleep 7. The master bedroom looks out over the valley and is truely a beauty to behold. The other bedrooms look over the garden. The kangaroos come onto the lawn in the morning and you can watch the clouds pass up the valley and even see snow on Donna Buang on the colder days. Heating The house is fully heated. The pool Our pool is huge. It is nearly 25 metres long and 10 feet deep (to mix my measures) at the deep end. The deck around the pool is massive and enough to hold a ballroom dancing competition (please don't!) The Laundry Modern laundry with all the amenities. Outside the House Apart from very large decks all around the house and pool, there is a terrace with large modern barbecue. We have large outdoor tables on the front and rear decks as well as the pool deck. - The garden is planted rare and exotic plants and large established trees as well as a substantial orchard. Activities Wineries, micro-breweries, restaurants, shops and country living are all at your door step. There are approximately 16 wineries within a 30 minute drive of Warburton. The start of the popular Warburton Trail is also nearby. This is 29 km of gravel path for bikes, walking or horse-riding. There is also the aqueduct trail, close access to national forest and drives and trails on the property. Other sporting activities include: - Golf at the Warburton Golf Club (10 min drive) - Cycling (local bike hire) - Hot air ballooning at Healesville - Amanda's cafe at Yarra Junction - Oscars restaurant at Warburton School Holidays and Long Weekends Please note that we have a minimum rental period of 2 nights Guest AccessGuests have access to whole house (bar one room), the pool, the river walk, the paddocks, spa, wineries near by, an excellent restaurant very close by and gorgeous scenery. Horse adjistment also available, so bring your own horse! Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to welcome guests and be around for your assistance. We need to check that our pet kangaroo is safe and happy. She lives around the house and is unlikely to move. The NeighborhoodOur view is unhindered by anything but trees, paddocks and mountains. We look out over the fabulous upper Yarra Valley and the experience all starts on the beautiful 3/4km tree-lined drive. There are plenty of paths through our own paddocks, dry forest and rain forest as well as a pine forest with plentiful pine mushrooms. The bush along our river is said to hold the original aboriginal track and the water is always abundant, fresh and clear. In the area there are regular markets, wineries, pubs, restaurants, cafes, many long tendered walking tracks, bike hire, horse events, ballooning and . .. anything else you heart desires. Getting AroundWe are available, at an extra charge, to pick you up and drive you. There is little puclic transport in rural Victoria. However, roads are easy, there are bikes available and walking is great adventure here in the area. Safeways is literally 7 mins away in Yarra Junction. Other Things to NoteWe have many kangaroos on the property and one pet kangaroo who lives around the house. We also have two golden retrievers and a cat Horses I have 3 horses and a huge fully-equipped stable area with wash area and locked tack room. There are spare paddocks and horses are welcome. There is nothing more gorgeous than riding the nearby forest or the Warburton trail.

The SpaceThis is a very special private Retreat, a place to relax, recharge and dream… The cabin is beautifully rustic, very ecological and environmental sound, simple and a very tranquil space. Every detail has been lovingly created, some from re-used materials, admist a private, lush, natural setting of ferns, flowers and tall trees that stretch to the sky; a lovely little forest setting. Soak un the beautiful double highbacked clawfoot bath on a deck overlooking ferns and trees. Gravity fed from tanks with fresh rainwater slightly tan-coloured from the Eucalyptus oil in the leaves in the tanks and heated by a wood stove, this is an amazingly relaxing experience. Little birds will flit about, ferns and trees surround you and a Deluxe Bathe Experience is available. See below. If you are doing the bath yourself, please note that you need to heat it up during the day unless it is a very hot evening (the surrounding temperature affects the ability to heat the water via wood and must be above 18dec C) and that it can take a few hours to fill and heat. It may be too cold to use during July - Sept and not avail on total fire bans. Otherwise it is an incredibly relaxing and awesome experience! The beautiful Upper Yarra River is across the street from the property, as well as filtered views of the mountains. Access to the clean river is only metres away for a swim, paddle, fishing, thinking time or a picnic. Or to ponder and watch ducks and platypus. Go to sleep as the sun sets golden over the mountains, look at the stars through the glass skylight window, read, write or reflect by the fire or candlelight, wake up to bird song and a new day…in so many (URL HIDDEN) do nothing or picnic or walk by the river or forests, climb a mountain, cycle the rail trail, browse the curio shops, relax in the cafes or dine in a variety of nearby places. Have a massage or bodywork treatment in the Sanctuary or take a tour with a local (see below for details). A variety of healing and nourishing or pampering experiences can be provided in the Sanctuary for maximum convenience and recharge and rejuvenation. Please see extra details box below. This is a small space - please be aware only a small amount of luggage can be fitted in. That the bathroom is a few metres away and outdoors. Its a beautiful hut amongst trees and ferns with wildlife and that is part of its uniqueness and charm. You have a neutral-carbon holiday when you stay here as it is totally off-grid and on solar power for lights, tank water and pure drinking water. No chemicals are used in any cleaning or materials. Everything is pure and natural. Please note there are no kitchen, pots/pans, food prep area or showers here and the toilet is a lovely long drop compost toilet amongst the ferns with a luscious view! While there is no electricity (only solar lights - and bring a battery operated lantern if you want to read at night) in the cabin, don't worry as the excellent cafes on the main street let you plug in your phones and laptops...if you really want to keep plugged in :-) Otherwise it is an ideal place to unplug and let yourself dream or discover who you are...and your partner. The NeighborhoodWarburton is a quaint and lovely little village at the head of the Yarra Valley, only one hour from Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Surrounded by forests and rivers, you feel an extraordinary sense of peace and wellbeing envelop you when you arrive. At last, here is a place where time slows right down, where daydreaming is as important as focussing, where platypus, fish and ducks meet you in the water and lyrebirds and echidnas pass you on forest walks. Its a place to do nothing at all...or many things including the Warburton ail Trail (stretching 30km from Melb), bush trails, river walks, picnics, swimming in Summer and snowplay up on Mt Donna Buang in Winter. Nature lovers, bird watchers, painters, photographers and exercise movers will love the myrtle beech rainforests, the 300 year old Ada Tree, a tall mountain ash, one of the world's largest known flowering trees. The SpaceThe Yarra Valley Manor, the first homestead in the Yarra Valley region was built over 110 years ago and covered a sprawling 4000 acres. This Cottage is suitable for quiet and very clean pets. The property originally had it's own bridge across the Yarra River and many buildings dotted the grounds. Some of the original buildings were destroyed by fire but the ‘Millgrove Mansion’ (as it is referred to by the locals) still remains. The Servants Quarters, a long building with a series of quirky and unique rooms still remains, along with the 'Old Barn,' 'The Bakery' and the ‘Firehouse.’ Three two bedroom chalets sit on the property and overlook the Donna Buang Mountain ranges. All three chalets comfortably fit 4 people. All chalets have their own balconies and enclosed log fires, queen size beds and DVD players and televisions. The villas are very comfortable and quiet. This cottage has a queen bed in bedroom one and two singles in bedroom two. BBQing facilities are also available on the property just at the side of the first Chalet near the open grassy communal area. What makes the Yarra Valley Manor Chalets a beautiful place to stay is the quiet and peaceful Yarra River only 400 meters walk (back down the road) from our doorstep, the wildlife, the Warburton to Lilydale Rail trail only 600 meters away and the quirky cafes and markets that make up the Yarra Valley. In Summer you can spend lazy days by the river or you can ride the smooth rail trail to visit the local area. Local wineries provide gourmet food and wine and the Warburton golf course is less than a 5 minute drive away. The historic O’Shannessy Aqueduct trail, Melbourne’s former primary water source sits behind the property and provides beautiful views down to the valley below. In Winter head to Mount Donna for tobogganing and snow play or to climb the look out tower and then return for a beautiful evening in front of the log fire with a coffee from our new coffee machines. If you'd like a bicycle tour, winery tour or hiking expedition (all provided at excellent rates) we are happy to help. The SpaceListen to the flowing river and wind across the upper canopy of Eucalyptus, Acacia and Ti-trees whilst setting up camp nestled in the fresh microclimate amongst towering ferns. With the chance of stumbling across or being visited by local residents along the walking trails and scrub tracks of possums, deer, platypus, wombats or wallaby. It's all in the manor you wish to enjoy the spot! The camp site is safe and secure yet spacious enough to sprawl out with a communal fire drum ( season permitting ) a great place to gather in for the afternoon to enjoy a chorus of bird activity or twilight moments away from camp at any one of the River access points. There is personal space between you, your companions and the bush. Guest AccessAmple parking at the front of the property with a quick 30 metre walk off the ridge to the secluded camping ground plateau. On the way you will find the Bush Bali bathroom tucked semi privately below the house for guests use with views that back out into the bush. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy making sure guests are comfortably set up. A private toilet and shower are attached both to the outside of the house so occasional interaction does happen! Requests, directions, local knowledge and perhaps toilet paper are usual topics thrown around the camp as is the Occassion passing between waterholes. The NeighborhoodTrue to kind this is in fact a neighbourhood away from the crammed atmosphere of crowded together back yards. The residents here enjoy spacious living far enough away from each other to either bask in the serenity or make a bit of noise - non the wiser. Getting Around* bus * 683 LilydAle travels the HWY 4 times a day but ends early afternoon for returning. * car, is ideal to get to site and to local attractions. * But! foot for most of the time does suffice around camp and along the waters edge. Other Things to NoteThis largely unknown region of the Yarra Valley boasts a few great natural wonders. With the raging waters of the two Pennisular tunnels mining deep swimming holes since their construction or the dramatic changes in ecology trotting along the Ada Tree track to one of the largest trees still standing in Victoria. Medium fitness is required on these outings and a picnic lunch is advised.

The SpaceRiverdale is set on 15 acres in the heart of the Yarra Valley. We purchased Riverdale in 2009 after instantly falling in love with the magic exuding from the beautiful flower gardens, fields, bush lands and old majestic gum trees on the river flats of the Yarra River. We wanted to share this unique place with others and had the idea to develop an accommodation and retreat venue that maintains a strong philosophy of sustainability. Working with biodynamic principles, we have since then been passionately and dedicatedly transforming the property into what some have called a ‘paradise off the grid’, relying on solar power and tank water. The property features a large kitchen and bush food garden, a two-acre flower garden with over 100 rose bushes and an orchard. With paths along the bordering Yarra River and through open fields, and the Warburton ranges as a backdrop, guests can walk and explore the unique beauty this property holds. Guests can also enjoy swims in the river, games of table tennis, beautiful picnic spots, ride along the passing Lilydale to Warburton trail or take short drives to the many nearby popular attractions including famous Yarra Valley wineries and lush mountain forests. As the property is off the grid, please note that there is no television, wifi or microwave. But there is mobile phone coverage! Guest AccessGuests rent and have exclusive access to three bedrooms in the house and the living and kitchen areas. Guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens and fields on the property, however do not have exclusive access to these areas. As this is a working farm, guests accept and acknowledge that other people may be present on the property at any time. Other Things to NoteThree night minimum stay on long weekends.

The Space'Kennedys Folly" This cabin was built over 100 years ago in the traditional manner but we have modernised it a bit but left a lot of character including wonky walls and the odd low roof. You do have to go outside under a verandah to access the bathroom but it too has been renovated and will not disappoint. There is tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge and a microwave for your use. There are no other cooking facilities so please allow for that when planning your meals if you plan to stay in. The Cabin is quite close to the main house but it is still very quite private and it opens away from the house. Guest AccessWe live on seven acres with a few sheep, dogs, cat and horse along with the odd kangaroo, blue-tongued lizards and lots of bird life. Guests are more than welcome to wander around and visit the animals or just relax under the shade of a gum tree with a good book and a glass of wine. The Kelpie will be the first animal to greet you and he will ensure we know you have arrived. The cat, Tiger will make him self know and is very friendly and loves a pat. Interaction with GuestsNormally we will be home when we have guests to stay but will leave you to your own devices if that is what you want. Guests can determine the amount of interaction they would like, with both humans and animals. The NeighborhoodComing to Warburton, known by locals as Warby, is like going back in time. Even though only 1.5 hrs from Melbourne City, it moves at a much slower pace, and functions more like a village, having a strong community feel. It is full of artists and musicians, and people who make the choice to leave the rat race behind. Weekends bring many tourists to Warby. This area is known for its magnificent forests, scenic walking tracks, diverse bike trails, winter toboggan run, picnicing and floating down the river, golf course with majestic views, wine tasting at neighbouring vineyards as well as its abundance of cafes. A smorgasboard for everyone! Warby marks the beginning of a vast area of forest from where most of Melbourne's water comes. Within this grows the tallest flowering trees in the world, the mountain ash. In addition are a number of endangered species, like the Leadbeater's "Fairy Possum", Victoria's faunal emblem. We are working to get this area protected with the Great Forest National Park. Come see this magnificent forest for yourself.
