We are the most booked house in Wye River! There are 3 bedrooms. Upstairs a mezzanine with queen bed. Downstairs a double with ensuite. Adjacent is a room with 2 bunks and a fold out sofa bed. We comfortably sleep 6 and and push it to 8 for those double families. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern, and there are full cooking facilities. You can dine in or relax at the big table on the huge deck. There is Foxtel of course. PET FRIENDLY But we specialise in pet friendly stays. If you need extra internet access, we have a loan mobile dongle for a modest fee. We have prepared for you a See and Do folder with our recommendations of the best things to see in the area. We also have a food lovers guide with our local recommendations. WHY WE LOVE WYE RIVER Wye River is a little village, deep in wilderness, and on the edge of the ocean. It is like venturing into a Shangrila! You are surrounded by wildlife. Rainforest birds will come to eat out of your hand. You will often spot a visiting Koala high in the trees, and sometimes they just wander across the property. We have even had a dust up by two males on the front doorstep! There is no shopping strip or loud music in town. EATING We are blessed with a modern cafe. 'The General' has the best coffee on the Great Ocean Road! Its own pastrychef bakes bread most days and makes French pastries to die for. It also has breakfast and lunch and has a wide range of food and supplies, all high quality. People come from far and wide just for the coffee. The famous Wye Beach Hotel has great food every day of the year. You can sit on the balcony with one of the best views on the Ocean Road. BEACHES AND WALKS The safe Wye beach is patrolled in summer and very popular for swimming, and there are walks along the rocks to intriguing rock pools. Paradoxically in such a small village we have a very active Lifesaving club with hundreds of members and a thriving Nippers program. Surfing is popular, and there is excellent fishing off the rocks. For those who like to walk, there is a rainforest walk up the ridge not far from Treetops. You'll often spot a Koala, and you can walk for miles along the good road. Wye River is a place with everything except glitz. Remoteness. Abundance of nature. Comfort. Great eating. The ideal place for a getaway to unwind from the busy city hurly burly! TRANSPORT You really need a car to drive to Wye River. The trip down is glorious as we are on the most spectacular part of the Great Ocean Road. There is also a bus several times a day if one of your group needs to get back to Melbourne and you can keep the car at Treetops. FINALLY ... Treetops is the most booked house in Wye River!! Our guests keep coming back year after year. It is the combination of the magical fairy house and being able to relax surrounded by nature. For the record, about 70% of our guests bring their dog, to make it a complete family experience. Guest AccessYou have the entire house to yourself. Access is easy via our wide concrete driveway - which is unusual in Wye River. You park under our carport, at the same level as the house entry, no steps - also unusual in Wye River. There is plenty of room for another 3 cars too. You let yourself in any time via our keysafe at the front door. We send you the combination after you book, as well as our extensive Welcome Pack that has a great map and lots of FAQs. Interaction with GuestsWe live a few minutes away and can help with anything you'd like to know. We like to talk about the place and the experience while you are booking, and we are available 8am to 10pm every day of the year. The NeighborhoodWye River has amazing birdlife in our rainforest, and Koalas visit randomly. The beach is fabulous, pristine. There are great places to eat not far away. I'd like to send you our personal recommendations on places to eat and places to see in the area. Let's talk! Getting AroundCar is essential to get to Wye - and to see the spectacular Great Ocean Road. We have some amazing places to recommend for you. Other Things to NoteAt Treetops you get 23 free extras that you just don't get at most other houses. Like our comprehensive local information; our loan mobile; the extras for pets and heaps more. They are the main reason that we are the most booked house in Wye River. Just ask and I'll send you the long list. You should definitely check the list and beware you may not get them anywhere else - please check!

Wyuna is pet friendly, so enjoy the company of your four legged best friend. Wyuna means "clear" and at our holiday house you will enjoy clear views and access to the bush, the wildlife and the beach, which is an easy 4 minute walk along a relatively flat road. Enjoy the sounds of the waves crashing and the clean air of the famous Otways Ranges bush. ALL rooms offer stunning views across Wye River and its natural waterways. Relax, cook, read, bush walk or wander along unspoilt beaches. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen will enhance your stay. Guest AccessGuests will have Wyuna all to themselves - There are 2 king sized beds in each bedroom. There are two single beds if needed for guests or the children. ALL rooms have ceiling to floor sliding windows so you can capture the sights and sounds of the bush. Wyuna has a bathroom with a separate toilet, shower, and vanity. There is also a washing machine and clothes dryer - a rarity for beach houses at Wye River. There is ample parking for 2 cars and with an almost level block, no steep slopes by Wye River standards! The NeighborhoodThe small and quiet town of Wye River offers everything to make your holiday romantic and enjoyable. There is excellent dining at the Wye Beach Hotel and the Wye River General Store and Cafe where you can pick up all the supplies that you need. Whether you are after organic produce, good coffee or fresh bread baked on the premise the store has it all! If fishing is your thing excellent whiting, salmon and snapper can be caught off the point or around many of the secluded beaches and bays. Apollo Bay is a 25 minute drive and Lorne is 15 minutes by car. Both towns offer fresh seafood from the docks and both have wonderful shopping strips offering restaurants, cafes, home wares and clothing stores, cinemas and book stores. Within an easy drive from Wye River are berry farms, wineries, waterfalls and bush walks throughout the Otway Ranges. A favourite of the locals is a trip to the Grey River picnic ground at night time to see the glow worms or during the day you may see a family of koalas at Kennet River near the Koala Cafe. Your dog will love the freedom of Wye River Beach which is off lead year round, although with restricted hours during Summer peak season. And finally - now you can see why Wyuna is the "clear" choice for cosy accommodation at Wye River! Getting AroundThe beauty of Wyuna is the relatively flat 250 metre walk to the beach - a rarity in Wye River. If you wish to travel beyond Wye River you will need a car as public transport is very limited. One of the joys of Wye River is the number of bush tracks and isolated beaches to explore.

The Age travel journalist Larissa Dubecki - See virtual tour for more.... 'We loved our stay at Morley Beach house and would highly recommend this holiday home. North facing, magnificent views, Koalas abound, hand feed king parrots, sulphur crested cockatoos and kookaburras. Great fishing. Superbly fitted out kitchen & beautiful shower in the modern bathroom (we were grateful for the second toilet too). We loved sleeping to the sound of the ocean and waking up to the sight of the sun on the water. What a view!! This property is a very special place in a very special environment - we cant wait to return'. The SpaceIpanema is a classic Australian 50s fibro beach shack, recently refurbished to provide maximum comfort and cosiness whilst still embracing its nostalgic charm. The house includes two bedrooms (each with 1 queen bed each), kitchen, bathroom, open living area and a large deck with ocean views. It is ideally set up for couples or small families. The recent refurbishment included a new kitchen and bathroom upgrades. Please note the price is for BYO linen. Linen hire is available, but notice is required. Please enquire on booking. There is also a small bungalow, which is a simple fully detached room that we have set up to provide a retreat for writing, creating or just escaping. The shack is set just one block back from the Great Ocean Road in easy walking distance to everything you need - two minutes to the beach and five minutes to the famous Wye River General Store and Cafe and the Wye Beach Hotel. Ipanema's unique position means the walk home is short and the incline not too step, yet the house still sits high enough to provide ocean views through the gorgeous gums. Once inside you'll feel like you're living in the tree tops. Speaking of those tree tops, we have a resident koala (we named her Nellie), who mostly lives in the gum tree right above the house. As you will see in the photos, the yard and immediate surrounds are also home to or often visited by plenty of other native wildlife, including echidnas, kookaburras, cockatoos and king parrots. Guest AccessThe whole shack and the detached bungalow room are yours to enjoy when you book Ipanema. We use the shack frequently ourselves and have it set up with some of the key staples that we think make for a perfect getaway, including: - staple pantry supplies - a well-stocked bookshelf - record player and selection of vinyl records - high quality portable speakers for streaming music from electronic devices - TV with in-built DVD player and selection of DVDs (no regular TV reception, however - see other notes below) - outdoor barbecue We have a baby boy, so there are several baby related items available to use of required, including a bassinet, pram and change mat. If you'd like to use these, please let us know and we will make sure they aren't packed away. As is the case with many properties in Wye River, the driveway access is steep. In our case, it cuts across our neighbour's property and can be tricky to manoeuvre. We generally recommend parking on the street. Interaction with GuestsWe live in Melbourne, but we have family and friends nearby. If you have any questions or encounter any problems during your stay, we are available at all times via the phone or email. The shack manual offers lots of tips and recommendations on our favourite places for eating, drinking, exploring and adventuring in the immediate area and beyond. The NeighborhoodThe township of Wye River includes just two commercial businesses which you can't miss: the Wye River General Store & Cafe and the Wye Beach Hotel (the pub). As luck would have it, both are fantastic and mean you really don't need to leave town for a great coffee, drink or meal. If you ask us, the cafe serves up the best coffee and breakfasts in the region, the store sells some of the best house-made sourdough we've ever tasted and the pub serves up great quality pub grub alongside local beers and wine, with a view to rival any other. Getting AroundV line offers bus services several times a day to and from Melbourne, dropping off and picking up near the General Store. The house is a short walk, however the most direct route is up hill via a partly dirt road so not recommended if you have large and/or heavy luggage. Other Things to NoteWe offer free wifi internet, however since it is via a mobile internet device, a data cap will apply to help manage our costs . Please enquire when you book for more detail. Alternatively, the pub offers free wifi access. There is no TV reception connected to the shack, however we do have a TV with inbuilt DVD player and a stash of DVDs to enjoy.
