The SpaceOur rooms open directly to the verandah; perfect for easy and private access. great for sitting outside. the house is a 5 minute walk to town, via the old wooden railway bridge so no traffic, no noise to endure. Torch provided for evening walk to town. Twin bedded room & double bed room share a separate toilet and bathroom. Queen bed room has own bathroom attached. Guest sitting room; it's cosy, but promotes great conversation with fellow guests. The guest area is separate from hosts living area. We reside in the house at all times. Always happy to help with providing information, suggesting day drives, take guests to see kangaroos grazing, accompany guests on early morning bush walks. Nannup is a friendly, small town (pop. 800). Lots of varied community groups, who arrange music festivals, garden festival. Anything is possible in Nannup! No public transport to Nannup. You'll need a car, or a bicycle! Yes, the Munda Biddi off road cycle trail passes right by the Blue House. Nannup is really in the heart of the south west. By car you can reach all surrounding towns within an hour. Guest AccessOne end of the house is a dedicated guest area (3 bedrooms and a breakfast room). Interaction with GuestsWe are very happy to offer tips about the area, and to put together an itinerary for guests wanting to use Nannup as a base to explore the south west. The NeighborhoodNannup is the heart of the south west! Stay a while and explore neighbouring towns, including Margaret River (45 min. drive).. Not only wine is produced in the region.. olives, avocados, stone fruits, marron, honey, sheep cheese..beef and dairy cattle.. jarrah furniture maker, iron monger.... people in small towns can be very creative! The pace of life is much slower, therefore it's probably worthwhile staying an extra night or two. Do a bush walk, or make use of our bicycles and cycle a section of the dedicated cycle trail that is called Munda Biddi. Getting AroundPublic transport to and fromNannup is very limited. The bush retreat is fully self contained and has everything you'll need to make your stay an enjoyable one. As well as families, we like to welcome groups to the Bush Retreat too. The NeighborhoodThe retreat is set on 11 acres of beautiful bush land teeming with wild life.The Blackwood river {the largest river in the Southwest} is nearby and hiring a canoe to paddle its waterways is a great summer activity. Also great for a swim, Barragup Pool is a naturally formed watering hole just outside of Nannup. The peaceful location is a popular swimming and canoeing spot. The surrounding tall native trees provide plenty of shade and the tranquil waters make it a relaxing setting to unwind. Walk out onto the viewing platform for endless photo opportunities or cast a reel into the water and try your luck at catching dinner. In the south, the D'Entrecasteaux National Park runs from Augusta thru to Pemberton with great picnic areas, bush walks, 4wd tracks and of course excellent fishing along the Southern ocean. The Munda Biddi mountain bike trail passes close by the property so bring you bicycle and have an explore. Getting AroundWe are approx 12kms from the town of Nannup. I have heard Nannup described as the hub at the center of a wheel, and one look at a map and you will realise why. There are seven towns in easy reach just waiting for you to explore. The house is situated just 20 minutes from the charming little town of Nannup. The house is set on the top of the Blackwood River Valley. Guests have access to 2kms of river and are able to canoe and kayak on the river. Getting AroundThere is no access to public transport. You will need your own vehicle to stay at the property. There are hundreds of attractions in the southwest. Many of the towns are approximately 1 hours drive. for example, Augusta. Pemberton, Margaret River, Bridgetown, Balingup, etc. Other Things to NoteThe closest restaurants and food shops are in the town of Nannup. Nannup has a small supermarket. It is best to bring food for your stay. The Sanctuary has grown, harvested & processed industrial hemp under licence and hosted several music festivals in the past four years. Interaction with GuestsFor guests which may have come to Mowen Springs near Nannup, Your hosts Karlo & Glenn will be close by. The NeighborhoodGlenn Ossy-Orley welcomes you, and so does Karlo Wondera, both living in separate gateway houses. Getting AroundThere is plenty of parking in front of the BirdHide, no problems. Other Things to NoteNear twilight or early morning hours, there will be a high likely hood of wildlife on our roads, especially @ the Sanctuary. On Old Barrabup Road, once you turned from Mowen Road, keep always to your right as you find your way to the 'Loose Goose'. Keep travelling down the gravel road ca. 2km and there is the gate to the Sanctuary. After here it will be a further 4km @ 15km/h speed with signage clearly marking the route. A beautiful experience.

Centrally located to enjoy all that Nannup and surrounding area has to offer. 75 km to Margaret River or 60km to Busselton.       The SpaceThe Nannup container house was made out of 4 shipping containers and recycled materials salvaged from a 100 year old house that originally stood on the property. The property has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living area, bathroom, laundry and sunroom. Bedding consists of a queen bed, 2 single beds and a fold out sofa bed on the front deck. The house sits up on a hill and looks across Dry Brook creek into the Nannup township which is a short 2 minute walk. With lots of trees and abundant birdlife, it offers a peaceful and relaxing place to enjoy the south west forest region. Guest AccessGuests have access to the whole house. With the Blackwood River running alongside its boundaries, a vast lake and natural bush land, this getaway makes for a tranquil and private romantic retreat. The two story, three bedroom cottage is fully self-contained, superbly equipped with air conditioning, TV, wood fire, modern kitchen and a gas barbecue located on the wide verandah that surrounds the cottage.       We are a fantastic eco-friendly retreat suitable for families or couples, set on the edge of the bush with a spring fed swimming hole, eight metre long jetty and rope swing along with bush walks and great outdoor activities for all the family. The retreat comprises two queen rooms and a bunk room with one double base/single top bunk and a single/single bunk. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have heating and fans. The retreat was built with handmade concrete blocks formed into double thick walls resulting in a wonderfully cool house in summer, and of course it keeps the house nice and cosy in winter with the wood fire glowing away.
