This apartment is ideally located and represents exceptionally good value for money. It is positioned just 100 metres from the lakeside, approximately 100 metres from Ebenbergbahn chairlift and 250 metres from the City Express Gondola. The apartment offers stunning 180 degree views across Lake Zell, the Schmittenhohe mountain and to the Kitzsteinhorne glacier.
Accommodation consists of: Large double bedroom with Austrian style 6ft double bed plus plenty of storage, bunk bed room with 2 beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers, bathroom with shower, bath and double sink, lobby with plenty of storage, full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave etc, Austrian style corner dining table, lounge with double sofa bed, chairs, coffee table, LCD flat screen TV, DVD and stereo. It is heated with modern thermostatically controlled radiators and there is a plentiful supply of hot water.
There is also a large first floor balcony with table and chairs and wonderful lake and mountain views.
There is a lockable ski locker and storage area in the basement for use of guests.

Zell am See/Kaprun - The vast Zell am See-Kaprun skiing area is perfectly suited for professional skiers / snowboarders and beginners alike. Both the Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn promise pure skiing enjoyment on diverse ski slopes in the midst of snowy mountain landscapes. The Schmitten & Maiskogel are the perfect location for skiing families.

Ice Skating - If the temperature is low enough you can experiece the delights of ice skating on the frozen Lake Zell, otherwise you can vist the local ice arena to skate or watch the local Zell am See ice hockey team play in the Austrian league.
Cross Country Skiing - As far as the eye can see, cross-country trails of a total of 40 kilometres in length wind their way all through Zell am See-Kaprun and into the neighbouring regions.
Tobogganing - There are many toboganning runs in the Zell am See area that can be enjoyed by all the family. The floodlit night run accessible by special bus is particularly spectacular.
Snow Shoeing - Guided winter hiking and snow shoeing tours of the Schmiten are available from the local Ski Schools.
Wellness/Spa - There are several spa and wellness centres in Zell am See and the surrounding area, we would recomend the Salzbergerhof Hotel and Tauren Spa at Kaprun.
Golf Courses - There are are several golf courses within a short distance

Nearest golf course to aparttment with 36 Holes and Driving range, also run competations open to guests.
If you are interested in playing other courses in the area Golf Alpin Card is good value.
Opening hours are much more restrictive than in the UK, so assume that all grocery shops are closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays although some shops may open for a couple of hours in the morning.
For late nights, Sundays and public holidays the Jet petrol station (Brucker Bundes Strasse 108) has a limited selection of basics but you can get milk,bread etc.
Billa: located in pedestrian area a short walk from the apartment, opens at 7am daily (except Sunday & holidays). This is a very well stocked shop.
Spar: on Brucker Bundes Strasse. This is closer and recently upgraded but in our opinion does not quite have the selection of the Billa.
Vegetable shop: An excellent shop on Schlossplatz.Also has good selection of Asian goods.
Bakeries: Open early (not on holidays), most at 6.45 -7am so great for fresh bread & croissants & delicious pastries & cakes.
Delicatessens: Good cured meats etc available
Villa Crazy Daisy - opposite Grand Hotel – Good food and excellent après ski.
KupferKessler – Directly opposite apartment, good food and bar, also does takeaways.
Zum Hirschen – Excellent local cuisine situated in town centre
Lebzelter – Good food with outdoor seating area in summer, located just off main square
Steinerwirt - Excellent traditional Austrian food with a modern twist, also has children’s play room and garden area for summer dining.
Ristorante Giuseppe - mainly pizzas worth a visit for quick meal.
Lohninghof - Seeuferstrasse 6, Thumersbach Good Austrian food in beautiful location, in the winter season you will need to book a couple of days in advance not to be disappointed.

Hotel Salzbergerhof Spa is probably the best in Zell.
It is difficult to get a booking after skiing (this time tends to be reserved for residents) but at other times or outside the ski season, it is relatively easy to book.
Prices are much cheaper than comparable 5 star hotels.
Tauern Spa – Large and luxurious spa outside town towards Kaprun. With 48000sq m of wellness facilities the Tauern Spa will cater for all you relaxation needs.

There is local history museum right in the centre of the pedestrian zone beside Stadtplatz.

By Car- Zell am See is easily accessable from the Austrian and German motorway network.
A Vignette is required to use Austrian motorways, these can be bought at service stations as you approach the Austrian border or online in advance. A 10 day Vignette currently costs approximately 8 Eur.
Winter tyres are required for all vehicles from 1st November to 15th April.
Apartment Lakeview does not have allocated parking but there is are several public car parks in Zell am See, the nearest is directly across the street from Apartment Lakeview.
By Plane - Zell am See is conveniently located for Salzburg, Munich and Innsbruck airport.
Salzburg - Zell am See is approximately 1 hr 15m from Salzburg airport by car/taxi, there is a direct bus service from the airport to Zell am See Bus Station (approx 200m from Apartment Lakeview) and there is a regular train service from Salzburg station to Zell am See. Zell am See train station is approx 50m from Apartment Lakeview.
Munich - Zell am See is aproxomatley 2 hr 30m from Munich airport by car/taxi. It is also possible to take train from Munich central station to Salzburg and change there for train to Zell am See.
Note if hiring a car at Munich airport please check that the vehicle is equipped with winter tyres.
Innsbruck - Zell am See is approximately 2 hrs from Innsbruck airport by car/taxi. It is also possible to take the train from Innsbruck direct to Zell am See. Other Things to NoteTourist Tax. All adult guests staying in Zell am See are required to pay a 1.2 euro per person per night tourist tax. By paying the tax you get a tourist card which qualifies you for tourist discounts.
