The SpaceThe boat is located in the city center and has a living/kitchen area, sleeping area and a toilet. Plus of course the deck area.
There is no shower on the boat :-) If you need one, you can go to Van Eyck swimming pool.
It's quite small, but very cosy for 2 people :-) Interaction with GuestsI'd be happy to give you tips and advice on what to visit. Also, if the weather and my schedule permits it, we can go on a boat trip to the north of Ghent! The NeighborhoodThe boat is in a very nice area with a lovely market, Lousbergmarket, across the street. There you can buy veggies, bread, cheese, juices, etc. They also have a delicious lunch area.
Just a few minutes away is Portus Ganda, one of the marinas in the city.
There's lots of pubs and nightlife within walking distance as well.
The heart of the city is just a 15 minute walk. Getting AroundBus access from both train stations (St-Pieters & Dampoort) is just around the corner.
Parking on the street is quite difficult to find. Other Things to NoteSleeping on a boat is a wonderful experience. Though there are some things to take into account: as it's a small boat, please don't expect to have all comforts as you would in a hotel room.
There is no warm water, but you can warm up a pot of water on the gas stove.
There is no shower, though you can go for a swim in the public pool nearby and shower there if you like.
The toilet is a dry toilet, which means liquids and solids are separated.
It is winter now, so know that it can get cold. There is gas heating which warms the boat up fine, but know that it can be chilly when you enter after a long day outside.
I sleep on the boat on a regular basis and for me, all of this is not an issue. I just want to give you this information beforehand, because I don't want you to be disappointed :-)
