As mentioned, we are located a short distance away from the Mayan sites of Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit, as well as a number of majestic waterfalls, rivers and creeks, and clourful local markets, for those interested in sight-seeing. For snorkeling, scuba, and fishing enthusiasts, the Caribbean Sea is only 11 miles away, and chartered trips are easily arranged. Our place has been a favourite retreat for birders, nature enthusiasts, writers and artists, as well as yoga practitioners. Guest AccessKiskadee Lodge offers a full range of amenities including free wi-fi (in the main lodge), recently built modern en-suite washrooms, with hot and cold running water, for two of our casitas, and a private outdoor shower and washroom for the third. Our two deluxe bungalows are set on the perimeter of the rainforest, which allows you to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the jungle. Free parking and wheelchair access, and a kitchen with a full range of amenities is at your disposal. A variety of tours, and meal options featuring the finest local cuisine, as well as shuttle services, are also available. As mentioned, there are permanent staff on-site to assist you with whatever needs you may have; however, the site will be yours to enjoy as you wish. Interaction with GuestsOur policy is we are there to ensure our guests enjoy their stay by providing them with what ever information, direction, and accommodation they require. We also value privacy, and the need to relax within one's own space and we endeavor to afford guests every opportunity to experience the beautiful natural surroundings on their own terms. Rooms are detached, secluded, and private. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is the rainforest, inhabited with a variety of birds, butterflies, and wildlife, dotted with a number of small villages, Mayan ruins, waterfalls, and bordered by the beautiful Caribbean Sea to the east, and the Mayan Highlands to the west. The villages of Yemeri Grove, Laguna, and San Marcos are nearby, and Punta Gorda Town is a 15-minute drive. Charetered boat trips to nearby ports in Guatemala and Honduras are available in Punta Gorda. Getting AroundBuses traveling to all points within Belize, and beyond to destinations in Mexico and Central America arrive and depart at the entrance to our property. The Port of Punta Gorda is 11 miles away, and is a major port of entry with vessels traveling to and from Honduras and Guatemala daily. Likewise, Punta Gorda has an airport offering flights to all major destinations in Belize, including Samuel Goldson International Airport in Belize City, and Cancun, Mexico. Bicycles are also readily available, as is shuttle transportation. Other Things to NoteKiskadee Lodge asks that guests arrange a pre-payment equivalent the value of one-night's stay as a means of ensuring availability of one of our three deluxe bungalows. For those wishing to book the entire property for two weeks, one week's deposit will be required in advance; and for those wishing to book for one month (or more), two week's payment will be required in advance. These deposits are non-refundable.
