The Gates feature 8 guest rooms within 3 separate spaces with a bathroom in each space. The houses are furnished with renovated vintage furniture and modern appliances. The traditional design is coupled with contemporary art decor, created by your host Nir Vena.
The Gates can accommodate up to 18 people. Guest AccessThe ground floor features a gallery-bistro where you can enjoy a cup of local handpicked herbal tea or a turkish coffee, while contemplating old photographs of the village. The tranquil garden is the perfect retreat if you want to Zen out. Interaction with GuestsThe hosts can provide you with valuable information about the area. Guided tours to nearby sites and hiking trails are also available, upon request. The NeighborhoodThe historic village of Dolen is nestled in one of the most pristine areas in southwestern Bulgaria. Dolen prides itself with its well-preserved 300 year-old houses, its mild climate and unspoiled nature. One of the main attractions in the village is St. Nicholas Church, built in 1834. The church bells were founded 7 times until the perfect sound was achieved. The houses are built with overhanging top stories and the roofs are made out of stone plates, typical for the region. During archeological excavations near Dolen an ancient village, an ancient necropolis, an ancient fortress and a medieval church were found. The area abounds with manmade and natural wonders and provides countless options for day trips. Getting AroundIf you want to use public transportation you can take a bus from Sofia to Gotze Delchev (travels everyday), and then take a bus from Gotze Deltchev to Dolen (30 km) or take a cab.
The best way to explore the area is by car. The village of Dolen is located 250 km. away from Sofia, 150 km. away from Plovdiv and 120 km. away from Kavala (Greece).
