The SpaceOur main guest room is on the ground floor and has a queen bed with private bathroom (shower - no bathtub) and small kitchenette. If you are looking for accommodation for more than 2 people there is an additional bedroom with a double and one single bed (converting to king), accommodating up to max. 4 people, with a small washroom. This additional room is only rented out in conjunction with the main guest room as the shower in the private bathroom of main guest room is shared by all. Guest AccessGuests will have use of their own patio. Interaction with GuestsI'm usually at home, greeting guests and providing information about the neighbourhood. Another opportunity to interact is during breakfast which is served in the eating area adjacent to my kitchen. At times I am not at home, guests can always reach me by phone call, text or email. The NeighborhoodI love our semi-wild backyard, the proximity to park, beach and shops, neighbours we've known for a long time. Getting AroundPark, beach, restaurants and stores are within easy walking distance. The C-11 Eaglecliff/Snug Cove bus comes by our house, hourly during commuting hours and every two hours mid-day and weekends and on weekdays runs from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM; on weekends it runs from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. The SpaceThough the home can accommodate a number of people - IT IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. It is best suited to mature adults (in behaviour, not necessarily age!) and families. This is very important for prospective renters to understand as respecting my neighbours is important for my ability to share my home on airbnb. So if you're looking for a place to party with friends on the deck till the wee hours - you should find a place better suited. The preferred maximum is 6 people, but I have put 8 to convey that it is comfortably do-able. The top floor has a front balcony, a back deck, kitchen, living area, dining area, bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom. The middle floor has a bedroom (queen bed), bathroom and living room/office/den with a pull out queen sofa bed, and a a deck off that room. The bottom floor is a large studio with a double bed. All the floors share the stunning view. There is a very comfortable couch in each living room and sleeping foam mats with plenty of bedding for extras. The 2 decks, a balcony, and 2 fish ponds provide lovely outdoor spaces. Note, the house works best for guests who don't mind stairs :-). It's the perfect combination of being surrounded by nature, and yet having foot and car access to pretty much anything you'd want to do within a matter of a few minutes. There is a bus and a taxi that runs to and from the ferry and throughout the island. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole house. Interaction with GuestsI will arrange for access to the home and be a phone call away but will not be on the premises. The NeighborhoodThis house is a one minute walk to Artisan Square - a lovely area with galleries, an organic chocolate/coffee spot, clothing stores, Artisan Eats Restaurant, and numerous other interesting places to explore. Getting AroundThere is a bus that services most areas of the island. And you can come and go to Vancouver via the car ferry, or on foot. You can walk from the house to the ferry in 10 min. and take a 25 minute bus ride downtown, or a foot passenger water taxi (English Bay Launch) that runs to Granville Island or Coal Harbour during commuter times and on the weekend. Getting to Bowen Island from the airport via public transportation entails getting on the Canada Line, and connecting at the Granville stop with the 257 bus to Horseshoe Bay. The SpaceThe Chocolate Suite is a unique accommodation. We call it a B&C, Bed & Chocolate. It is an extension of our chocolate business Cocoa West Chocolatier. Staying in the suite is a way to really enjoy your chocolate experience. Decorated in tones of white, milk and dark chocolate, with accents of raspberry and lime, it is a soothing oasis, from the bustle of Artisan Square. Artisan Square is the creative capital of Bowen Island, located just 3 minutes from the ferry by car/bus, or a leisurely 15 minute walk up the hill. Guest AccessGuests of The Chocolate Suite will enjoy delicious organic chocolates, organic hot chocolates and organic coffees, and a light self-prepared breakfast. There is a mini fridge, kettle, flashlight, beach towels and a picnic backpack in the room. Picnic lunches are available for purchase at Cocoa West Chocolatier. If it's rainy, there's an umbrella, or cosy up in the Chocolate Suite and watch one of several delightful movies like 'Chocolat'. The NeighborhoodIn Artisan Square there is plenty to see: Cocoa West Chocolatier, Artisan Eats cafe, artists, galleries, eclectic shops, a cashmere knitwear maker and also a yoga co-op. On Bowen Island there is trail walking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, beaching and spa's to visit. Bowen Island has a delicious variety of options for eating and picnicking. Getting AroundNow you can rent scooters on Bowen Island! A great way to visit beaches, hikes or go for dinner! Check out Zoom Zoom Bowen on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Getting to Bowen Island is by ferry or water taxi from Horseshoe Bay. Getting to Horseshoe Bay is by car or the 250 or 257 Bus from Vancouver. Once on Bowen Island public transportation bus service is limited, but many of the ferry arrivals and departures are met by TransLink bus. The C10 'Blue Water' bus stops in Artisan Square. That said, Artisan square is walking distance to the ferry and many other activities on Bowen Island. Other Things to NoteArtisan Square can be a bustling place during the day, but it's very quiet after 5pm. Don't be surprised to see many, many stars in the sky and a few deer in the Square at night. You may also hear the frogs that live at Killarney Lake 1km away and crickets too.

If you tend to have chilly feet we do recommend you bring along your slippers as the floor can feel cooler in the winter months. Driving to the cottage is only 8 minutes from Snug Cove. There is a sloped (not steep) gravel driveway where guests can park just yards from the entry door. This is easy and convenient access. SPECIAL NOTE FOR FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES: We suggest guests driving Front Wheel drive vehicles park facing uphill. The combination of the type of gravel and the slope makes it hard for front wheel drive vehicles to drive out. We do not want you to have to call the tow truck. Gardner neighourhood is quiet and peaceful. We are surrounded by trees on one side and a gorgeous sea view on the other. Getting AroundIt is best for our guests to arrive using their own vehicle. The drive from Snug Cove is only 2.8 miles or 4.6 k. It is approximately a 60 minute walk to the cottage. The Bowen bus does not have a regular daily route to the Mt. Gardner side of the island. A limited schedule on Saturday and Sunday brings the bus to the intersection of Woods Road and Mt. Gardner which will bring you .8 of a mile or 1.3 km from the house. Other Things to NoteThe Mt. Gardener neighourhood on Bowen is VERY quiet and peaceful. We love to have guests with the same quiet and peaceful intentions enjoy our home.

SEPARATION AND PRIVACY UPGRADES The Lazy Bowen Hideaway and the Lazy B Waterfront Suite have had extensive sound abatement upgrades between the rentals. The Lazy B Suite ceiling has been refurbished with 2 layers of Roxul Safe n Sound, Z - Channels with Quiet Rock attached (equal to 8 layers of sheet rock) plus sound proof caulking around the perimeter of the Suite. SUCCESS….. Voices and normal TV noises have been removed, a 300% improvement. The foot fall from the Hideaway above is muffled and greatly improved but could not been eliminated 100%. Getting AroundThe C11 Eagle Cliff bus will pick up and drop you off at anywhere along Eagle Cliff road including the top of our driveway. When arriving via the ferry walk off the ferry for approximately 1 short block to the next cross street where you will see the C11 Eagle Cliff base waiting. It is approximately a 15 minute ride to the top of our driveway. Please let us know if you arriving via bus and we will happily send you the bus schedule. Other Things to NoteAWD or 4WD required to park on the property. Parking on the property requires driving a short distance on Cleator Road: it is steep in spots, it is made of loose gravel and it has 3 tight turns. An all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle the size of a Ford Explorer or smaller is required to drive Cleator Road. Or, you may choose to park your 2 wheel drive vehicle at the top of the road and take the 5 minute walk down to the cottage. Parking is free. Do you have a physical limitation? We do have LIFT stations along the way where you can stand and be picked up by friendly drivers and the Bowen pub offers a ride home if you have dinner with them. The SpaceThe Coach House can be a 1 or 2 bedroom suite, suitable for 2 couples or family of 4. There is a small galley kitchen, living room, balcony. Bedrooms have queen beds. The suite is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you will need for a short stay. We provide linens, towels, dishes, coffee & tea. Just bring yourself; sit back and enjoy watching the eagles soar over head. Guest AccessFeel free to sit in the garden, read, look at the flowers or just relax. The SpaceI started building this home in Sept 2011 and moved in summer 2012. It has been a great experience! There is 4 bedrooms and a large open concept living room kitchen. A wood fireplace provides enough heat to warm the upstairs. Each room has its own heat via baseboard heaters. There is 2 bathrooms that are under construction as we speak and should be completed early in the new year. Guest AccessGuests will have access to all the basics in the kitchen with most cooking essentials: Olive oil, balsamic vinegar,salt,pepper,herbs,spices,flour and sugar. There is pots,pans,cheese graters, salad spinner, Dutch oven, pop corn maker, kettle, coffee machine and filters. Please respect my pantry. You may use the basics but that is all. All other items are off limits. Ex alcohol,health food supplies canned goods. Please bring your own food if you are cooking. There is also towels and laundry soap/fabric softener in the closet in the laundry room. Laundry is front loading. Interaction with GuestsI can come and say hi if you wish. I can also leave you to your devices. Whatever you prefer. The NeighborhoodThere is a great 9 hole golf course Just outside the front door. Course is in great shape and open year round. There is also a nice walking trail that goes around it starting at the bottom of the cul de sac. The only full sandy beach is located at the bottom of the hill with public access and great swimming. Seymour bay "near golf clubhouse" is a very nice place to check out and good for a swim too. Getting AroundThere is good public transit to Bowen from dt to horseshoe bay via the 257 express bus. Then ferry. There is ample parking on site. Enough for up to 5 or 6 vehicles. Other Things to NoteThere is a vegetable garden. Feel free to help yourself. Just pick a few weeds while your in there!

Most all have views of the ocean as they are perched up above the beach. Eagle Cliff beach is a wonderful spot for guests to explore and swim. In the summer months there is a dock with a slide and diving board. Kids love it! A 15 minute walk away from the beach takes guests to Hood Point where there are tennis courts, another beach and neat spots to explore. Getting AroundShallon is a 7 minute drive from Snug Cove. With a large driveway, we can accommodate up to 6 cars. But who brings 6 cars these days?! :) If you decide to walk on the ferry there is a bus service that stops close to the house. The bus driver is very friendly and if you ask nicely, he will drop you right at our front door! During busy times, typically after work and on long weekends, we recommend arriving 50 minutes prior to departure. Other times 30 - 40 minutes prior is just fine.

Furnished with sustainable and mostly local decor, you’ll feel at home and relaxed. The kitchenette is fully outfitted with a 2 burner cook top, a small fridge, local coffee, a selection of local teas, all cooking equipment, everything you need to prepare your own meals. The sleeping loft has a organic cotton queen size bed with cozy and comfy bedding. The washroom has a stand-in shower and includes all-natural Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, and Hand Soap from The Soap Dispensary on Main Street in Vancouver. The living room has a Canadian-made custom pull-out sofa which has a memory foam mattress, for a comfortable sleep. The cottage sleeps 4 people, 2 in the loft and 2 on the pull-out sofa and is a cosy 330 sq.ft. A lovely home at the end of a quiet cul de sac a short walk or drive to Snug Cove where the ferry docks and all the restaurants and shops are. By car: Exit the ferry and get into the right lane as soon as you can. Just put on your signal light as the locals are used to making room! Make your first right at the top of the hill – Miller Road. Just past the bridge, turn right at Melmore Road. Make your first right, which continues to be Melmore Road. Follow that road until you get to a T-Intersection – turn Left onto Senator Road and follow to the end of the cul de sac… the house on the right! You’re home! Or, you may choose to park your 2 wheel drive vehicle at the top of the road and take the 5 minute walk down to the Suite. Parking is free. DO YOU HAVE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS? CLEATOR ROAD SHUTTLE SERVICE - $40 - FOR OUR 2 WHEEL DRIVE GUESTS If you drive a 2 wheel drive vehicle we have an optional Cleator Road Shuttle service for your convenience. Our Shuttle Driver will meet you at the top of Cleator Road and drive your luggage, groceries and you down Cleator Road at check-in and up Cleator Road at check-out. ARRIVE BY BUS - LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME After you exit the ferry follow the signs to the bus stop, catch the C11 bus to Eagle Cliff, and the driver will drop you at the top of our driveway, Cleator Road. Our location is on medium high bank waterfront just above the Eagle Cliff Beach. Access to the property is down Cleator Road which requires AWD or 4 Wheel Drive access only. Parking is available on Property for AWD vehichles. 2WD vehicles can park along Eagle Cliff Road and guests can take the 3 minute walk down to the cottage. No AWD or 4 Wheel drive - ask about our Cleator Road Shuttle to assist you with your Check - in and Check - out. A $40 fee is charged for the Cleator Road Shuttle Service.         The SpaceThis is a cozy and serene 280-square-foot custom-designed, modern studio located in the lovely fenced front garden of our home. We are at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighbourhood overlooking Snug Cove village and the ferry dock on Bowen Island, with stunning mountain and ocean views. Watch the moon rise, the eagles soar and, from the garden overlook, the ferries gliding by. The building is a showcase of sustainable low-impact building practices, including rainwater harvesting, highly-efficient windows and heating and ventilation systems, and extensive use of certified, reclaimed, and "upcycled" materials. For example, the small sink in the kitchenette once served a high-school science lab, while the exposed rafters supporting the roof are century old Douglas Fir that once supported a railroad trestle. The counters are made of Paperstone—a hard solid surface made from recycled paper. The studio includes a small three-quarter bathroom (shower and toilet) in a completely tiled walk-in space. There is a kitchenette counter area with a mini-fridge and sink. While we do not permit any cooking in the space, we provide facilities to make coffee and tea -- a kettle, tea pot, and insulated "French press" coffee maker. We provide freshly ground certified organic and fair trade coffee and a selection of black and herbal teas, plus milk and cream. There are restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and organic groceries in the nearby village, including an excellent nearby bakery-cafe that you can access in minutes via a trail through the back of our property. (The trail is steep; please wear appropriate footwear if you choose this option!) You are welcome to use the small fridge for fruit, cheese, your beverages of choice, etc. We provide small serving plates, drinking/wine glasses, cutlery, bottle opener and a corkscrew. Ice is available in the mini-fridge. The bed is a queen size, with comforter. You'll find a yoga mat in the closet along with space for your things, and also a desk area with plenty of receptacles for your gadgets. No other pull-out bed or mat is available, and we do not allow extra people beyond two. This includes babies and small children. There is a mountain and ocean view out the west facing smaller window and from the garden. The main floor-to-ceiling windows face into our garden and a forested hillside and ecological preserve in the distance. You'll enjoy the stars at night! Guest AccessYou will have access to the full fenced and private front garden where the studio is located, including the adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean and mountain view. The small flagstone patio directly in front of the suite is your own area which we will steer clear of and you have your own private gate, but we will very likely be present in the larger front garden that the studio sits in, enjoying what is in the warmer months our "outdoor living room." Interaction with GuestsAs the studio is in the front garden of our home, we will likely be present on the property. We are friendly, and happy to make recommendations. You may encounter us in the garden during part of your stay, depending on the season. We are best reached via text message for queries or issues with the space during your stay. No need to knock on our door on arrival unless you want to, but we invite guests send us a quick message through the AirBNB app when they arrive, so we know you're out there! The NeighborhoodBowen Island is a lush green island dominated by Crippen Regional Park, which includes a fish ladder/waterfall, a lake for running and hiking around, and numerous viewpoints and beaches. We are happy to point you to our favourite places. The shops and cafes of Artisan Square are a 10 minute walk away via our private trail through the back of our property. (Note the trail is steep, good footwear strongly recommended.) The studio is on a quiet cul de sac in a family neighborhood just above Snug Cove and the property backs onto forest and green belt. Getting AroundFrom the ferry dock, you can drive to our studio in a few minutes or walk to us, steeply uphill, in about 20 minutes, depending on your fitness level. As of November 2016, there is now a taxi on Bowen: 604-250-TAXI. Due to steep hills and shoulderless, narrow and unlit roads, we do not recommend Bowen Island as a cycling destination. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide foot passenger pickups in Snug Cove, and there is presently no taxi service on the island. In the summer months, a scooter-rental business operates on the island, you will be able to pick up a scooter near the ferry dock. Please contact us for more details on this option. Bear in mind when looking us up on online maps that the maps don't show the elevation gain. It is a STEEP and STEADY uphill climb of approximately 20 minutes to the studio from the village, depending on your fitness level. There is a hitchhiking stop at the foot of the hill. If you do choose to drive, please park in the cul-de-sac. On request, we'll email inbound guests our hand-drawn walking trails map that depicts the various trails and shortcuts in the immediate vicinity. Let us know if you need driving or public transit directions from YVR, or driving directions from the U.S. border. Other Things to NotePlease be aware of the additional costs that the ferry will add to your visit, especially if you are bringing a vehicle. Ferry fares and schedules are available from the BC Ferries website. Based on guest feedback, we're going to say it one more time: On a map, the studio looks like a short stroll from the ferry dock, but it is a steep and steady uphill hike of about 20 minutes to the studio from the village. In summer months a scooter-rental business is a good option. There is also an on-island taxi now that can zoom you up the big hill. Note that parking in Horseshoe Bay in the summer is a nightmare, i,e. scarce if available at all, particularly on weekends. If you're walking on the ferry, we recommend you take the 257 Horseshoe Bay Express Bus from downtown Vancouver to the terminal; details on request. Our "no pets" rule is strict. We don't allow any pets of any kind, size, or disposition. :-) Finally, if your time with us includes a Monday, please note that many of the Island's restaurants are closed that day. We have a two night minimum from June 1 to the middle of September.

We've got a bed, a desk, a typewriter and a heater. It's quiet and private, but if you need anything, including recommendations of how best to enjoy the island, we're right next door. The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet, residential neighbourhood with lots of dog walkers and kids. A short walk down a steep set of stairs to the nearest beach. Getting AroundA bus swings by the corner of our street hourly (minus a few hours mid-day). Also, hitch-hiking is socially acceptable on Bowen, and very easy. If you are not intimidated by hills, getting into town or to other parts of the island by bike is also a great option.

        The SpaceThere are TWO available bedrooms, each equipped with ONE Queen size bed and dressers/closets. (The site does not allow you to show more than one bedroom in a shared house, so it's misleading). This main listing is The Melina Room with a queen size bed. There is also a queen size bed across the hall for additional guests in the Alicia Room. It is best that both rooms are booked within the same party for the benefits of guest privacy. There is also a pull-out double futon in the common room for additional guests. Additional person charges apply. Please note there is a very loveable feline in the home. For this reason, I'm sorry I can't accept other pets. The property is also home to five chickens, many fruit trees and several garden beds. The main floor is not carpeted, so slippers or warm socks are useful. The guest area does not include cooking facilities, though a small fridge, Foreman grill, and a microwave are provided for use, along with basic dishes and a washing station. There are a number of fine restaurants to enjoy meals, and a number of beaches if a picnic is more to your liking. I'm happy to make recommendations for you. Eco-friendly, hypo-allergenic products are used for all linens and cleaning. The NeighborhoodThe location of Forest at Your Fingertips is 4.5 km from any retail centres. "Snug Cove (the Cove)" is where you disembark, and is essentially the main district for dining and shopping. Please be sure you understand the proximity. There is a beautiful forest trail just out back where you're sure to encounter deer and other small wildlife. The island has many other trails and beaches, depending on your interest. There can be numerous activities on the island, from local live theatre to musical events sponsored by any number of organizations, on any given weekend. There's also a stellar 9-hole golf course nearby, and kayak rentals in Snug Cove. There are a number of studios offering regular Yoga, Nia and other classes throughout the week. The island has shopping, restaurants, galleries and more to fill your days. I'm happy to provide my guests with recommendations for getting the most of their island experience. Also, check out the Guidebook for more. Getting AroundThe property is 4.5 km from the ferry. It is hilly and I would not recommend walking (or cycling) with luggage. Bowen is a unique community for transportation as it has very limited bus service, and hitchhiking is sanctioned (visit the Bowen Island Municipality website for details on our Lift program). There is a new taxi service (604-250-TAXI) operating with some limited hours. As well, the pub has a free shuttle service. Welcome to Bowen! It is, however, best to have a car, especially if you want to tour around the island. Many of my guests come without a vehicle, but please know that that it will limit your transportation options considerably. The bus on the island stops nearby, though it does have a restricted schedule, particularly on weekends. I am happy to provide the bus schedule if interested. The schedule changes with the ferry schedule changes. The taxi service does offer meal delivery for a fee. PLEASE READ IF YOU PLAN ON CYCLING: The property is where it is, and that is 170 metres (500 ft) elevation in 4.5 km. The ride to the property from the ferry is uphill...all the way. Consider you have been fairly warned. This is no leisurely cruise. There is plenty of parking available at the home. Check the BC Ferry schedule for the period of your stay as it changes and there are regularly cancelled sailings throughout the week. Expect it to be late. It just is. Other Things to NotePrice is based on room occupancy based on 1-2 guests. Please enquire directly if there are any more than 2 guests. Families travelling with babies and children are welcome, but no baby/childproofing measures have been implemented in the home. Please direct any concerns to the host in advance of arrival. Children are people, and need to be included in the head count for reservations. Please observe check-in/out times. While I can often be flexible, requests for earlier check-in may be subject to an additional fee. No daytime use of home is permitted prior to agreed check-in time. All of the living space is upstairs except for the laundry which is downstairs. There is a beautiful piano in the home, too.               A few minutes walk from Snug Cove ferry dock, beneath a mighty red cedar, is the charming Sugar Cube Cabin. Set back from the road, behind the Sugar Cube Gallery, the Cabin has its own separate entrance and garden. Built in 1927, the craftsman-builder made each nail hammered into the original construction. We have endeavoured to take equivalent pride in each small change we have made, making this on-going project a comfortable, rustic, wired-in getaway.The wooden cabin with wood-burning stove, sleeps a maximum of 4. There's an open living space, a basic kitchen, one bathroom plus front and rear decks. The 2 bedrooms each have queen sized beds. Access to the loft is via a ladder so for intrepid climbers only & at their own risk. Towels, linens & beach towels are provided along with TV, wi-fi, a washer and a dryer. There are a variety of instruments for the musically inclined, a small library of books, original artwork by local and international artists plus vintage and locally made furniture.Guests in the Sugar Cube Cabin can use the Gallery for events, exhibitions or as an open studio space. This option is available at no extra cost but please check ahead of your booking to use both spaces. THE CABIN is a couple of minutes walk from the ferry terminal in Snug Cove. Close to many local stores, pubs and eateries; near boats, bays and Crippens Park, the Cabin is a shout from trails to Killarney Lake. There are many things to do on Bowen Island but perhaps best of all, you can do nothing, nothing at all. It's a place to savour the simple life. If you want to enjoy hikes or life on the water; to visit galleries, studios or delicious places to eat all are on your doorstep.

The Monastery or Meeting House, is perfect for meditation and yoga. An Art Room invites painters, crafters, writers and knitters. The paths around the property, although challenging in places, call to visitors to walk the walk and marvel at the douglas firs, pines and maples. The creek running though the property is an added bonus, especially in the winter as it adds to the rushing sounds of serenity. Ashoka House will comfortably accommodate 2 families, 8-10 girlfriends, or 7 guys on a golfing trip. It is a quiet, private escape for couples. Interaction with GuestsHeather, who manages Ashoka House, will meet you upon your arrival. Any questions or recommendations will be answered then, but if problems arise she is available by phone and lives on the island. We also have a guest book for you to sign - we'd love to hear from all of you! The NeighborhoodAshoka House is a 5 min walk to Bowen Bay, our favorite beach for a summer dip. Your kayaks and paddle boards are easily put in at Bowen Bay. There is access to many hikes outside the back gate near the Meeting House. Biking and running is a common practice by many on Bowen. There is a golf course on the island. An island bus can pick you up across the street and take you to town. The marina offers small boat rentals. Getting AroundFrom Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, a 20 min ferry ride lands you into Snug Cove, Bowen Island. There is an island bus at the ferry terminal that can drop you off in front of Ashoka House. or if you have your vehicle, its a 15 min drive. The highlights of the island include Snug Cove and Artisan Square for groceries, restaurants and crafts; hiking, beaches, golf, and the Bowen Coma, which usually kicks in 20 min after unpacking and relaxing at Ashoka House. AKA Naps! Other Things to NoteOur neighbours are very important. We are a community on Bowen. When there are emergencies, we help each other, thats part of the beauty of Bowen Island. Please respect our neighbours. Partying and loud music is not welcome at Ashoka House.

Biking is common, but be warned - there are plenty of hills here! Other Things to NoteI live in a residential neighbourhood - easy to forget as you can't see the neighbours. There are roosters and dogs and I can't promise silence, although it is generally quiet around here. Loud music should be inside after 9pm.

The ferry is about 30 dollars for a car and passenger round trip. And 12 bucks for additional passengers. All round strip on bc ferries. Ferries leave every hour from horseshoe bay. The studio, sunroom and back porch are all yours. Feel free to roam the yard. Access the washer and dryer from the door through the kitchen (watch your step on the ramp!). If you need any assistance whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact me! The NeighborhoodThis place is magical. So green and quiet. Numerous activities to explore on Bowen, including beaches, hiking, kayaking, local events, restaurants and shopping. Getting AroundHow to get here if you're driving: Green Glass is located at 967 Windjammer Road in the Bluewater neighbourhood. From the ferry terminal in Snug Cove, stay on the main road up the hill. You'll see BICS school on your right. Continue along the winding main road. You will pass Artisan Square signage on the left, the Firehall on your right and the IRLY building centre on your left. Follow road left at the T intersection and turn right around the next corner (note signage for Tunstall/Bowen Bay). Continue until you see a sign (Bowen Bay Road) and turn right. Drive down the long hill to Bowen Bay (public) Beach at the bottom, where you follow road to the right and up the steep little hill. Pass the large stone cairn at King Edward Bay development and turn left onto Spyglass Road (a short block), then left again. On the right you will see street number 967. If you go too far you will quickly come to a cul-de-sac at the end of the paved road. Turn and drive back up the hill and look for the lime green door. How to get here if you're taking public transit: The C10 bus stops half a block away approximately every hour, offering service to and from the Snug Cove ferry terminal. Free street parking in front of the house. Hitchhiking is common on Bowen, as well. Not necessarily recommending. Just saying. Other Things to NotePlease note that I do not allow parties at the house. If you're looking for a place to have a get-together with a group, please look elsewhere. If you're looking for a beautiful, secluded getaway for one or two people, this is the place. Internet on Bowen can be spotty. My connection is theoretically fast, but sometimes it gets bogged down because the service provider doesn't offer the most reliable service there. If you have computer work to do, arrange beforehand to work offline, if you can. Getting a cell phone signal here can be unreliable as well, as with the rest of the island. I have tenants with children staying in the upstairs of the house, and have asked them to respect my guests' privacy and need for peace and quiet, especially before 9 a.m. and after 10 p.m. Please pay them the same respect. Kitchen notes: There is no full oven, just a toaster oven, microwave and cooktop. The fridge and freezer are small, but there is also another fridge located in the utility room that you can use for fridge overflow.

We chose a prefabricated building to reduce construction waste, fossil fuels, and have less impact on the forested area which it sits. The cottage is furnished in a west coast beach style and features a modern wood slatted ceiling. The foyer is welcoming with lots of space for your belongings. The adjoining washroom has a toilet and sink vanity. A special feature of this cottage is it's outdoor shower with all natural eco friendly bath products. Imagine putting on your fluffy towel, walking out to your private deck, and hopping in the steamy open air shower overlooking 100 foot tall trees. The Forest Cottage sleeps 2 guests in a king size bed which can be separated for 2 singles.
