The SpaceMy daughter and I have bedrooms upstairs. Clean, quiet and comfortable room with a queen and a single bed. Both beds are high quality. Bedroom has a small fridge and coffeemaker. There is a shared bathroom and WIFI. Shared kitchen and living areas in a large home with vaulted ceilings. Laundry facilities available. We are 3 minutes from Parksville Beach and 5 minutes from Rathtrevor Beach, 10 minutes from Englishman River Falls, and 2 minutes from Little Mountain. Nestled in the trees in the cozy community of Errington. Parking space for vehicle is included with room rental. Parksville Beach is fabulous, with a huge sandy beach at low tide making it is a great place to walk and swim, and there are many excellent restaurants and shops in the town. It offers kayaking, paddle boarding and wind surfing. Many sea lion, seals and eagles so bring a camera. 2 minutes away,experience the community of Errington: the best community market on the island with local wares and music. We are 5 minutes from Coombs, a world famous market with worldwide crafts known for its goats on the roof. Public transit is very limited in the Parksville area. Affordable and a great location! Close to everything yet with a rural feel. 1 minute from the Parkway for convenient travel north and south on the island. It is also a dog friendly home with resident pooches. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to relax in the kitchen or living room, enjoy the art or sit out on the deck. There are TV's and wi-fi available. In the winter there is so much to do plus a warm fireplace to lounge around at the end of the day Interaction with GuestsWhile the house is a quiet place it is always great to socialize and share stories and information. There is ample information regarding activities, places to visit and tourist attractions throughout the island. The NeighborhoodThis area is a very sought after place to visit because of it's overall ambience, ocean, forests and wonderful access to all the recreation, sports and cultural activities available locally and everywhere on the island. All streets lead to the ocean and Rathrevor Beach Park. Camping, picnicking, swimming and more a short walk away. Getting AroundThere are buses that can go to all major tourist areas: Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and other places. Local buses can get you to Nanaimo and Qualicum Beach and BC Ferries and there is taxi service. I will provide shuttle service if possible for a nominal fee. The SpaceOur home is yours when you respect it,(we do live in it as well.) not suited for young children as we have a stair case, and a high balcony which one uses to enter the home. The NeighborhoodQuiet and up scale homes , walking trail at the top of the hill and the "Hill walk" is used by many who wish to get in shape, a car usually is needed to get to town , otherwise its a 20 minute walk, 15 to nearest bus stop.. Getting Around4 minutes to town where we have buses to connect to neighboring towns , as well as taxis and rental cars .. Other Things to Notewe do have WiFi and we stress absolutely no smoking policy , provincial laws apply, an we have a allergy free home.

The SpaceWelcome to my amazing little cottage! It's an adorable one bedroom cottage that has a small kitchenette area, with all you need to cook, a couch, T.V. and a bathroom with a shower, pedistal sink and toilet. You have your own BBQ just outside your door. The garden is landscaped with fruit trees, grape vine, gazebo, pond with waterfall and firepit. I am a short 10 minute walk into downtown where you will find quirky and quaint boutiques and restaurants. Another 5 minutes walking and you are at the amazing Parksville Public Beach that hosts the annual Sand Sculpting competition and some of the most spectacular sunsets ever!! If you are depending on public transit, there is a bus stop at the end of my street, but most everything in the downtown area is walking or biking distance. Oh, and by the way, you have the choice of three beautiful bikes to ride...pink, baby blue or red...I like the pink one! If you are driving, then you are only 15 minutes to the majestic Englishman River Falls, Coombs Country Market(home of the goats on the roof), the hauntingly beautiful Cathedral Grove and Butterfly world! The SpaceSpacious, clean, comfortable rooms , double beds, lots of art, music and quiet. Guest AccessThere are rooms with TV or you can enjoy two lounge areas with TV and fireplace. The kitchen is always a place to meet. The hot tub, deck and BBQ area are great spots to relax. The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is called San Pereil. A lovely mix of forest, ocean, quiet streets and homes...all roads lead to Rathtrevor Beach. Getting AroundI offer shuttle service on request to and from the ferries and airports for a nominal fee. There are buses that can take you up the island or down to Victoria, and the ferry. Parksville has taxi service. I have bikes available for a nominal fee of $7.00 per day to cover maintenance.

Other Things to NoteWhile Oceanside Escapes is truly a West Coast get away it is not oceanfront. There are several routes down to the lovely Rathtrevor Beach that can take anywhere from 7 to 15 minutes to walk. Another alternative is a quick drive from the cabin in to the Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park to park for the day (free). Sometimes this makes it a bit quicker to set up for the day with your gear!

The Space970 sq ft 720 sq ft Main Floor / 250 sq ft Loft 1 Bedroom ( queen bed) 2 Bathrooms 1 Loft ( two twin beds) The Dogwood Cottage is located in Oceanside Village Resort located on Vancouver Island. It features open plan living on the main floor, with a fully equipped kitchen (4 appliances), dining and living area with a gas fireplace, vaulted ceilings and ensuite laundry. The master bedroom (1 queen) is located on the main floor and a sofa bed in the living room. Upstairs is the loft with two twin beds and second bath. Sleeps up to 6 ( best fro 4 adults and two kids). Cottage equipped with 3 televisions, DVD & CD player,WiFi, basic cable, no access to video on demand, large front and back deck with gas BBQ, linens and towels. Because of allergies in my family, we do not allow pets. Walking distance to the beach, trails and the city. You have access to a pool, hot tub and a gym. Walking distance is the world renowned Tigh-Na-Mara spa, the Cedar View restaurant and Rathtrevor the warmest beach in Canada. Also walking distance are: a mini-golf, ice cream parlour, a sushi bar, an English pub, our local spa Tranquil Moments (very affordable with great services) a little grocery store . Parksville is 5 minutes by car. Coombs and Cathedral Grove an ancient forest of giant red cedar trees. 45 minutes north is the ski resort of Mount Washington . A variety of trails are also walking distance to the cottage. Vancouver Island can be accessed by ferries either from Anacortes, Washington in the USA or from the Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay ferries in Vancouver, Canada. The Space Large over sized BR with a private Jacuzzi bath and shower. Includes and a reading area, with small table and chairs. This BR is carpeted with walk in closet, dresser , chest of drawers, and a gorgeous view of the city, ocean and coastal mountains. There are hard wood floors in the main house . Kitchen and vanities have granite counters. My house is a Victorian style with many windows, and six exits over three floors. It is a non smoking home, pet-free and no alcohol in the house. I have lived here on the island for 25 years and have a good knowledge of places of interest should you need information. Walking tours of waterfalls and other nearby places can be arranged if desired. There is an excellent boardwalk on the beach in Parksville with world class sand castle contests there in July/Aug. Neighborhood homes are all high end and on a dead end road , gorgeous view from the top of Little Mt. only a 5 minute walk. Many good restaurants for all appetites and choices. We have the best beach in the area and 2 hr drive to Long beach, on the west coast with miles of sand , noted for surfing and sun. 1 Mall in town , Public transit to Nanaimo, 3 Lg Malls and national Bus service, also inter city service and 10 golf courses close by us, as well as 2 airports with in 20 minutes. The SpaceThis old farm house sits off a main road on a well treed acre lot right in the heart of town so the traffic noise is not very loud but I would say it could be the only drawback although it makes for only a short walk to all amenities. The yard has its own small orchard and if you're in season help yourself to any of the fruit. The house also has a large covered patio perfect for outdoor meals. Guest AccessThe only areas off access are my shop, and a closet in one of the bedrooms. Interaction with GuestsI can be around for anything you need as long as I am not working.     Ravenwood Cottage offers guests a very comfortable, clean and cozy home away from home, regardless of the season. This family-friendly property offers children and children at heart plenty of space for outdoor games like badminton or Frisbee and is a wonderful space to come back to after day trips to local beaches, golf courses, ski hills, and hikes. The Ravenwood Cottage offers a large fully equipped, modern kitchen. The sundeck can be used for serving afternoon tea or a summer evening meal. The deck overlooks the back yard meadow, making it a good spot for keeping an eye on the kids. For winter visits, the centre of attention in the living room is an efficient wood burning stove, which invites you to put your feet up and read, or take a warm relaxing rest after dinner. The three bedrooms comfortably accommodate up to six guests. Nights are very quiet, allowing for restful undisturbed sleep. The sparkling, tidy bathroom features both a bath tub and shower. Ravenwood Cottage is situated within the Parksville city limits yet retains a rural feel. Parksville's downtown shopping district is 5 minutes away by car, where you will find all the necessities for your stay, and more. Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is also a short 5 minutes drive away. In summer it is a favourite swimming beach and a perfect place for quiet walks, sunset picnics and views across Georgia Strait. Top Bridge Regional Park, on the Englishman River, can be reached by foot in about 20-25 minutes and is a favourite for local fresh water swimming.       Our beach home is a private, updated property siding onto Rathtrevor Provincial Park with a great unobstructed view of the beach. We are just steps to the beach and Rathtrevor. The condo is on the 2nd floor of a beach level 4-plex ... step out our front door and you are less than 100 feet to the beach and the park. The unit is over 1,100 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It is equipped with in-suite washer and dryer and sleeps 4 people. There are 2 decks and a barbeque. The unit has been substantially updated in 2006. This includes new appliances and new hardwood floors, carpeting, and tiles throughout. The bathrooms are modern and updated. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a television and there is a high quality television with DVD player and stereo in the living room. The main floor has a large picture window with a wonderful view of the beach. Great for when you just want to sit back and enjoy the view from the comfort of your living room. The main floor and top floor both have sunny outside balconies. Both balconies have great views of the beach and Rathtrevor. Rathtrevor Beach is a very close walk and is known as the nicest beach on Vancouver Island.

                          The SpaceOur cottage is decorated in a way that reflects our love of the water, and with keepsakes and photos from our travels around the world. While living overseas in various countries, we rented homes so have equipped ours with everything we wished we had while we were renting. We have customized our cottage so it stands out from the rest in the Oceanside Resort: the master bedroom and loft have ultra-quiet ceiling fans, the loft has a built in closet with barn door closures as well as having a window that opens to look into the great room. The window lets light in, but also provides added security and ensures a quieter environment for those sleeping in the loft. We also have a lockable glass storm front door with fantom screen to allow greater airflow and light into the house. A bonus outdoor feature is the huge fenced- in back deck accessed from the living room that allows children to play safely outside. We are constantly upgrading the cottage and recently painted and installed new blinds. The kitchen now has a gas range and convention oven as well as a new fridge/freezer with ice maker and water dispenser. The open concept cottage is warm and inviting and perfect for families and friends. We were granted Superhost status in our first year with AirBnB due to having a great property, prompt communication and outstanding reviews by our guests! The backyard, shaded by large evergreen trees, is totally enclosed allowing children to play on the large deck that is complete with natural gas BBQ and comfortable patio furniture. A gas fireplace transforms the open concept main floor into a cozy retreat when the weather turns cooler. The cottage sleeps six comfortably. There are two bedrooms, each with new king size beds and a new queen sofa bed in the living room. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has a bathroom with tub as well as walk in shower. The second bedroom is in the loft complete with a full bathroom with walk in shower. We've installed custom made glass and a window in the loft to increase privacy and safety. Now, you can have people sleeping in the loft, while still using the main floor area. There are new flat screen TVs with a wide range of channels to suit every age and taste in each bedroom and living room, and there is free secured wireless internet. The NeighborhoodConveniently located mid-island, Parksville is a year round destination ideally located for the outdoor enthusiast with easy access to miles of beaches, fishing, hiking and biking trails, five local golf courses, and kayaking around protected bays and islands. Our cottage is in a wonderful resort with a terrific Bistro called Taste, as well as a day spa and salon. You are within walking distance of an old English pub on the ocean called the Black Goose, and Tigh-na-Mara that has a great lounge and full service spa. A corner store is a short walk if you need to pick up milk, bread - or better yet - treat yourselves to an ice cream cone! Visit nearby Coombs where there is a wonderful market and restaurants, complete with goats that keep children entertained with their antics. Getting AroundNanaimo is 20 minutes away with great shopping, theatres, restaurants as well as ferry terminals and an airport. Side trips can be made to Coombs, Cowichan Bay, Comox and Victoria. In the winter, storm watching in Tofino/Ucelet is something to behold, and there is skiing at Mount Washington. It is one of the few places in the world where you can ski in the morning, and golf or surf in the afternoon! Whether you like beachcombing, hiking, biking, sightseeing, taking nature walks, or shopping - the Parksville area has it all.
