We are more than happy to give you all the space and privacy you need during your stay, however, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask! You can call us at the house or text/communicate through the Airbnb messages. Or feel free to come by the house and say hello... We'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!
But Having two small children, and farm animals, we are often home, and will be around while you are here.
You will probably be able to find Natalie tending to the garden, collecting eggs from our chicken coop, chasing after the kids, or inside hiding from the rain. And Warren is usually home, doing all the heavy lifting around the farm, when he is not at his day job.
The one character you will see the most around here is our lovable & super friendly German Shepherd cross dog, named Hunter. He is extremely kind, and does especially well with children, other dogs, and the chickens. The NeighborhoodWe are in proximity to rock climbing, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, and river rafting- bring your gear!
We are located within walking distance to Anderson Beach; a white sanded beach along the Squamish River, with breathtaking views of glaciers & waterfalls.
There are two lesser known hikes close by- the Sigurd Creek Trail, and High Falls Trail. Both of these are intermediate trails, and may be weather permitting. Check on line for up-to-date information on these trails.
As well as the Chief and other climbing destinations in town, there is another climb up the valley here, that is not very well known, called "under the influence". You may just be the only climbers there!
Or just simply enjoy walking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing through the trails in our 7-acre forest.
We are just 20 minutes from Squamish, the outdoor capital of Canada. The town offers numerous hiking & climbing spots including the chief, 4-lakes trail, and more. Also found in town is kite boarding, wind surfing, mountain biking, eagle watching, and numerous lakes. Or even take a ride up the Sea to Sky Gondola.
We are 45 mins from Whistler-Blackcomb, and 1 hour & 15 mins from downtown Vancouver. Getting AroundThe Upper Squamish Valley is nestled between the Tantalus Range and Cloudburst Mountain, just 20 mins northwest of Squamish, BC. There is no public transportation around here, so you will need a car. Come prepared with everything you will need for your stay- gas in your vehicle, food & beverages, etc. Free parking is included during your visit.
Although Squamish Valley Road is paved, there are some stretches of road with major pot holes. Wildlife, such as elk & deer, are also often on the road, especially after dark. Please be cautious, and take your time driving up. Other Things to NoteOur small hobby farm is a working homestead, and it is far from perfect. We have two small children, and multiple projects constantly on the go. Often, the grass is uncut, and there are weeds in the garden. But we think you'll have fun anyway!
We are a little off the beaten path; you will lose cell phone coverage 1/2 way up Squamish Valley Rd, and our farm cannot be found on GPS.
Although you will be out of cell phone range, it is fully equipped with the necessities, so you can fully disconnect & relax. There is a land line available for local calls, and we also have wifi. You will be able to email, and text messaging is available through iMessage, and other texting apps.
