If there are more than two guests, there is a 2nd bedroom overlooking a tranquil English garden. The second bedroom is adjacent to the suite. Both bedrooms have queen size beds with high quality mattresses. You may want to start your day by popping around the corner for a treat from the local bakery and enjoying the fresh ground coffee or tea provided. At the end of each day you can open the French doors and relax in the garden patio or cook on the gas BBQ. When it gets darker, enjoy twinkling patio lights and candles. On cool nights, snuggle up on the comfy L-shaped sofa that is big enough for four people. Enjoy a movie on the 40 inch flat screen TV or use the high speed cable Internet with WIFI. Enjoy fluffy towels and comfortable bathrobes, along with everything you need for a relaxing shower or bath. When your bed calls, you can slide between fresh soft linens, line-dried in summer and retaining the tang of fresh air. Ferry Walk House is ecologically friendly. The SpaceOur home is one of the few (if not the only) log home is Lions Bay. We have a 180 degree view of the Howe Sound and the neighborhood has a private beach within walking distance. The home is spacious, inviting but the view - it may be the best view you'll ever experience. That's how we felt when we first saw it, and we live in San Diego!! There are two private neighborhood beaches within walking distance, or just a two minute drive. There are nature walks all over, perfect for avid hikers. I will provide a PDF orientation booklet that will provide everything you could possibly need to know prior to your stay. But the home is yours during your stay! It's a beautiful neighborhood, and again, the views are staggering. We're 20 minutes from Vancouver and an hour from Whistler. Perfect for day trips and the ferry is only 10 minutes away! There is a bus with regular service between Lions Bay and West Vancouver, but you really need a car for convenience. Guest AccessLions Bay has two neighborhood beaches accessible to our (URL HIDDEN) with a floating buoy perfect for kids to play in and the other in a gorgeous wooded area of amazing natural beauty. I grew up in West Van but am now based in the UK and my husband and I and our 3 children (11,13 & 14) stayed in Helena's home on holiday for two weeks. The house is very spacious, clean and airy and even prettier than the photos. There is a lot of natural light from several large windows which also allow an amazing view of Bowen Island. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the showers are great and the beds are very comfortable. Helena was really welcoming, helpful and accommodating and I really cannot fault anything. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood near the golf course and the area is perfect for running and cycling. It is also an ideal base for getting to the BC Ferries, Squamish, or Whistler and it is only a 15min drive to Dundarave/Ambleside. I recommend this house for anyone who wants a relaxing and comfortable holiday and the chance to explore the North Shore. I truly felt at home in Helena's house. 2.This lovely home comfortably accommodated 5 adults and 2 children. Everyone enjoyed their stay in this welcoming, eclectic, conveniently located house. The patios and garden spaces added to the charm. There is access to horseshoe bay in a 3 minute drive as well as many hikes and great restaurants close by. I can't wait to go back, thank you Helena!!! 4.We as a family were very happy to be able to spend a few days at Helena's home in the area of Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver BC. We were attending a family wedding in the area and,staying at the house, allowed us to stay together as a family and visit, instead of the alternative of staying in separate hotel rooms in the area. The house is very close to the village and within a 10 min walk or a 5 min drive,to the very spectacularly scenic townsite of Horseshoe Bay,where there are some very popular restaurants for breakfast, as well as lunch & evening dining. Also, close to the BC Ferry terminal, and the fantastically scenic, Sea to Sky hwy. if one wants to come in from Vancouver Island or even drive for 1.5 hrs to Whistler to ski. The house is not new, but renovated and bright and is easy to find and is situated in a stately well tread neighbourhood, above above any possible townsite noise.Upstairs, it has lovely views from 2 rooms. We found it very comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family who used both bedrooms,both full bathrooms and the upstairs den( one must be able to climb a normal set of stairs) for sleeping.The master bedroom bed was extremely comfortable and clean. The house has 2 decks which are very private so in the summer, it would be a nice place to sit and visit on a sunny day. We were very happy Helena was so accommodating for us at this time and it helped to bring our family together,create happy memories, reduce our stress during this time period. I would definitely stay here again,& recommend it, and already have to friends and family members in the area. Parking also was easy, and 2 parking spaces available plus the street,which can be a problem in such a popular area.This is a great place to take off from for a hike or a swim,boat ride or sail in the beautiful area of West Vancouver. 5.From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with the property. It was furnished beautifully and comfortably with all the amenities you could need. The view of Horseshoe Bay was fantastic even during the cloudy/rainy days. We are also a 5 min drive or 10 min walk to Horseshoe Bay village with lots of restaurants, grocery stores , coffee bars etc . Also a 7 min drive to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry which goes to the Sunshine Coast , Bowen Island and Vancouver Island ( to Nanaimo ) And a 5 min drive to a shopping plaza with a Safeway , drugstore, bank, spa, restaurants etc We are a 25 min drive to Squamish and about a 50 min drive to Whistler on the Sea to Sky highway We also have the best neighbours who are available to help at any time. The house is very close to the village and within a 10 min walk or a 5 min drive, to the very spectacularly scenic townsite of Horseshoe Bay,where there are some very popular restaurants for breakfast, as well as lunch & evening dining. Also, close to the BC Ferry terminal, and the fantastically scenic, Sea to Sky hwy. The house is not new, but renovated and bright and is easy to find and is situated in a stately well tread neighbourhood. Upstairs, it has lovely views from 2 rooms. We found it very comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family who used both bedrooms, both full bathrooms and the upstairs den. The master bedroom bed was extremely comfortable and clean. The house has 2 decks which are very private so in the summer, it would be a nice place to sit and visit on a sunny day. We were very happy Helena was so accomodating for us at this time and it helped to bring our family together, create happy memories, reduce our stress during this time period. I would definitely stay here again. 5. From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with the property. There is a high efficiency washer/dryer located in the kitchen with natural HE detergent provided. In the storage room is an iron & board, hand steamer, drying racks, extra chairs, vacuum, umbrellas, recycling bags, box & the green bin for food waste. No food waste is allowed in the regular garbage in West Vancouver. Items from the green bin are picked up + composted . The NeighborhoodAltamont is an exclusive neighbourhood in West Vancouver with estate properties & multimillion dollar homes. Walk along the water or up the side of the mountain winding past secluded estates & lush landscape. The Village of Dundarave - shops & restaurants is 5 blocks east plus the pier & seawall walk that will take you all the way to the Lions Gate bridge . . or stop on route in Ambleside for lunch etc. There are 3 lovely playgrounds for children along the beach. . 25th street next to the pier (concession stand), John Lawson Park* (at 17th next to the pier) recently created an award winning fantasy playground made from wood.. very interesting. Children love it! There is also Ambleside beach, skatepark, playground & beach volleyball . . & concessions. Closer to the Lions Gate bridge is the off leash dog park close to the swan pond where blue herons nest in the tall trees. Amazing prehistoric looking birds! There is a single rail line that runs in-between the house and the water. It is not a big deal and people don't complain but you should be aware of it. In the summertime the Rocky Mountaineer passenger train goes up to Whistler in the morning and back down around dinner time. Otherwise there are infrequent trains including one or two at night that go by in one or two minutes. Part of the charm of beautiful West Vancouver. Eagles munch on salmon high up in the Douglas Fir trees. I once found a headless salmon in the front garden. I think it became detached mid flight :-( There are lots of birds around and the occasional racoon or coyote. Pipe Creek is next door (west). Getting AroundThe bus picks up 2 doors down on Marine Drive & goes direct to downtown Vancouver in 30 minutes. You can also go west to Horseshoe Bay in 15 minutes. There are excellent bike rides in the area. Take a scenic drive west on Marine Drive to Light House Park, Whyltcliffe & Horseshoe Bay. The drive to Whistler is spectacular on the Sea to Sky Highway. It takes 1 hr & 23 minutes to drive from the house to Chateau Whistler. By car it takes 40-60 minutes to get to & from the house + airport depending on traffic. From the airport you can get to the house on public transit by taking the Canada Line downtown to Granville & Georgia and then get on the West Vancouver 'blue bus' number 250 Horseshoe Bay or the 254 Caulfield & get off at 30th & Marine. Cross the street & walk 2 houses west & you have arrived at Chez Momo! Other Things to NoteEveryone loves Lighthouse Park - 20 blocks west of the house. Also the West Van Museum often has interesting exhibits with an emphasis on mid century modern art & architecture. The Capilano suspension bridge is popular. You can also hike all the way up along the Capilano River to the ClevelandDam at the top (Capilano Regional Park). Spectacular scenery & a good workout. Lynn Valley suspension bridge is also nice for an adventure. Avid hikers love the Grouse Grind .. direct up Grouse Mountain.. where you can see bears at the wildlife refuge.. In the summer there is the Shipyards Night Market on fridays from 5-10pm (may 1 - sept 25). The Ambleside Farmers Market is on Sundays (in the summer months) from 11-4 on Bellevue in the 1500 block (between 15th + 16th) close to the water, Stop at Crema for a coffee or lunch.. sit outside & enjoy. However, this is something that I want to acknowledge so that guests have no surprises so I would ask that potential guests review the photos which show 12 rock stairs into the back yard, the steep driveway and the additional steps up to the little verandah. Getting AroundThe bus stop is one block away and will take guests to the heart of downtown or to Stanley Park within 25 minutes, or the Horseshoe Bay ferry to Vancouver Island within approx 15 minutes. Other Things to NoteNon-dog owners can be assured that I use separate bed linens and on the slate floor I use mats not used by dog owners. Cleanliness and the absence of dog hair is very important to me and to you too, I'm sure! We have also been honey bee keepers, whenever the honey bees decide to grace us with their presence.     The SpaceThis very cozy space was completely renovated in 2014. It can sleep up to 2 adults (Queen Size Pine Bed) & 2 teenagers (Pull-Out Queen Size Sofa-bed) quite comfortably. Fold-out camping style mattress cushions for up to 2 guests sleeping on the floor can be supplied upon request. Guest AccessThe cottage is located in the back of our property and can be privately accessed from your parking spot off the lane. There is also a large 350 sq ft cedar deck adjacent to the cottage c/w table and chairs for you to enjoy your morning coffee or tea in full view of our backyard garden. Interaction with GuestsWe'll provide you with a 'cottage orientation' upon arrival as well as recommendations for local restaurants and activities...will also drop by every few days to see how you're doing (or not, depending on your preference). The NeighborhoodWest Vancouver's Ambleside area is a busy one with loads of coffee shops, restaurants & shopping only 3-4 short blocks away. Beaches and Seawall are only 1 block further. The West Vancouver Recreation Centre (fitness area, pool & ice rink) is 6 blocks west while Park Royal Shopping Centre is 8 blocks to the south-east. Getting AroundBus transportation is right across the street from our front door. We also have copies of the West Van Blue Bus schedules to help you plan your day trips into Vancouver or around the North Shore. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet but very accessible. Ambleside in West Vancouver is unique in that it is so close to the beaches, ocean, and amenities. The beautiful mountains are 5 minutes up the hill above the upper levels highway. You can walk, bike or drive quickly. This is a prestigious upscale family-friendly neighborhood and is surrounded by stunning beauty. Real estate is at a premium here because of the accessibility to all this nature and world class everything, so you are in a wonderful location to be awed by. At the same time, there is a down-to-earth tone with the local residents, many who are entrepreneurs, artists and athletes. Getting AroundThere is street parking right in front our home (your suite). Public transit is down the hill (2 minutes) and accessed on Marine Drive. Easy access to Upper Levels Highway above us, and in town along Marine Drive below us. We bike a lot around the area to go for ice cream or small shopping errands. Other Things to NotePack for the season and for the sport. Vancouver has been incredibly and unusually sunny and warm since May until now. We do expect rains to come in October onward. It is never too cold though....always mild if the rains come. Hiking shoes for our great hikes such as the famous Grouse Grind, the Chief in Squamish or flatter range on the seawalls. Hiking is around every corner...

Please leave the outside kitchen light on for this renter to access the stairs leading down to the apartment. He walks over the patio outside the kitchen... Those using the alcove bed in the living room should be aware that the renter uses the stairs just outside the glass window to access his apartment. So they might want to draw the curtain.... So I am not available to meet you in person, but my son Russell Long makes sure the house is ready for your arrival. I am online and can assist if you have questions. Green Maids of Canada cleans the house for me. Most of the bills are paid via automatic debit, like the Cable TV, electricity, fuel oil; Russell pays the rest. There is no house telephone. Beds will be made for your arrival. The NeighborhoodHorseshoe Bay has a number of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops and is within walking distance of the house. A flight of stairs two houses down from us cuts a direct path to this village and public buses.... Just to right of the bottom of the stairs is the bus station to Vancouver. A second bus station is on the waterfront. Caulfield Cove is located off Exit 4 on Route 199 and is a small shopping mall with large grocery store, liquor store, medical clinic, and other services. Lots of parking is available; this is a convenient, adequate shopping center. North Vancouver is 10 kilometers away and offers every service from Walmart to Wholefood Markets.... Vancouver is just over the Lions Gate Bridge, a short distance away, but traffic over the Lions Gate Bridge can sometimes cause delays. Whistler Mountain and Sqaumish are north on Highway 99, off of which this house resides. Squamish comes first, Whistler is 90 minutes away. Getting AroundPublic Buses run from Horseshoe Bay to Vancouver via North Vancouver. The Number 250 is a local; the 257 is an Express. Ferry boats run from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen's Island, Nanaimo, and the Sunshine Coast. Car Rentals are available in North Vancouver and the airport and offer the easiest way to get around. The house is recently renovated with hard wood floors and topless deck glass to make the most of the incredible almost 180 degree water and mountain views. The house is light and airy yet with a cosy feel. The decor has a subtle beach theme. Upstairs Main entry with spacious hall. Master bedroom is very spacious with a walk-in closet and a beautiful ensuite bathroom with floor heating and a Bane Ultra whirlpool bath tub and a big shower. The other two bedrooms has a joint bathroom, with a shower and floor heating. The larger room has a Queen bed and the smaller a twin bed. All three bedrooms have access to upper deck. Middle level Middle level has an open space lounge, dining area and kitchen. A separate family room with 55 inch led TV, cable, Apple TV and Netflix. There is also a powder room and a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Middle level has several doors to front deck and one door to back deck. Basement Basement has a rec room with 180 inch projector screen. This is where where our children arrange sleep overs. There are two comfortable roll away beds that sleeps comfortably 2 people and an additional mattress for another 2 adults (so you can fit 8-9 people in the house, if someone is willing to sleep on mattresses). The basement has direct access to lower deck, hot tub and sauna. These can also be reached by stairs from the middle deck. There is also a smaller private balcony outside the rec room. The entire house excluding the garage and walk-in closet. No interaction. Or as guests prefer. Quiet cul-desac, minutes away from Horseshoe Bay shops, bars and restaurants. Close to golf course, gym. 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver, 70 minutes to Whistler. Car recommended. Bus stop at top of the road. House has extensive decks to enjoy the views with patio heaters. Sauna and hot tub on the lower deck.       The SpaceOur house is a fully modernized 80 year old Cape Cod design. You get the character of an older home with the comfort and convenience of a modern home. The house has spectacular western views you can enjoy all day long. Whether while sipping your coffee (yes, we have an espresso machine in the kitchen) in the morning, enjoying the sunshine in the afternoon, or watching the sunset (wine glass in hand, of course) in the evening, you will love being here. And you simply can't get more centrally located than West Vancouver. It is an ideal launching point for any of the things you may want to do in Vancouver or in the surrounding area. The house (and the rooms) are large and spacious. So, you will have plenty of room to move around. Guest AccessYou will have access to the entire top two floors of the house. This gives you 4 very large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the top floor. On the main floor you have the living room, kitchen, dining room, TV room, and office. Full washer/dryer are also on the main floor in the laundry room. The basement will not be accessible during your stay as it is our nanny's living quarters. Interaction with GuestsWe are renting our house out because we will be travelling at the time. So, it is unlikely that we will get the opportunity to meet you. However, our nanny will not be travelling with us and will be living in the basement. Her living quarters are completely separate and this is her vacation time, so it is unlikely she will have much interaction with you other than her occasionally accessing the kitchen. The NeighborhoodLocation, location, location. And did we mention the view? Our neighbourhood is called Ambleside. You will be a 10 minute walk from the beach at Ambleside park (an absolute must visit), a 10 minute drive to Stanley Park and downtown, a 10 minute drive to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal (access to the Sunshine Coast, Bowen Island, and Vancouver Island), and less than 90 minutes to the summer fun in Whistler. Just a 10 minute walk, or 2 minute drive from the house is Park Royal Shopping Mall, one of the best malls in Vancouver. Whether you want to stock up on groceries at Whole Foods, enjoy a latte and pastry at one of the many open air cafes, or shop for the latest fashions. Park Royal has everything you might be looking for. If you go for a walk around the neighbourhood you will meet our neighbours and have some great conversations. Everyone is very friendly and spend a tremendous amount of time outdoors. It is the West Coast after all! Getting AroundWe are only a couple of minutes from the highway, so it is easy to get to the destinations you want. If you want to explore Vancouver on the transit system, there is bus access 2 blocks away and a major bus terminal a 10 minute walk away at Park Royal Shopping Centre.
