The SpaceThis Oceanfront Unit is a very private unit in the front (ocean facing) portion of a duplex home. The 1200 sq ft area is very bright with a large entrance foyer & laundry area (shared with Rear Garden Unit), a spacious open concept living/dining/kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a large deck, with a BBQ, that spans the front of the house overlooking the ocean ... the sunsets go on forever!!! The home is fully furnished including full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher & microwave, washer and dryer. There is hd satellite television as well as hi speed internet (phone is not provided). The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with staple food items. Dishes, cutlery, linens and towels are supplied ..... just move in and enjoy! Guest AccessGuests have access to the 1.5 acres grounds and are encouraged to spread out and enjoy! For those with RVs, campers, etc there is lots of parking on the property. Interaction with GuestsWe live an hour away from this Vacation Home but have a small apartment, with separate private access, at the rear of this duplex home (Rear Garden Unit). In the event we're needed at the house, for any reason, we stay in the apartment so as not to intrude on guests' privacy. Upon occasion, we may have a family member or friend staying in the unit. Oceanfront Unit guests are left on their own to enjoy their stay but, if required or invited, we're pleased to make ourselves available to assist in any way. The NeighborhoodMaces Bay was formerly an active fishing village and that history is evident in the small, quaint homes and derelict boats along the coast. It's a very interesting area to explore as it's on the NB "Lighthouse Route". There are several other fishing villages along the oceanfront ... some still active and offering fresh seafood right off the boats (in season). The calm water in Lepreau Basin, just down the road from the house, is perfect for clamming, canoeing and kayaking while the oceanfront offers many small islands to explore. The waterfront immediately in front of the house has rugged terrain, there are walkable beaches within short walking distance and close to the house. The most popular beach on the south NB coast - New River Beach Provincial Park - is only a 15 minute km drive. Getting AroundYou will require a car for transportation. Although there are service stations and basic amenities within a 5 minute drive, the home is 40 km from Saint John (the closest major shopping area) and 75 km from the Saint John International Airport. The Digby ferry, to Nova Scotia, is a 45 km drive. The US border is less than 100 km

The Neighborhood10-15 minute walking distance to the city market, restaurants, bars, shopping, NB Museum, etc. 15 minutes walk to Rockwood Park. It is right next to the the Baptist Church, however the immediate surroundings are not prosperous and we have taken that into account when setting pricing. Getting AroundThere is a bus sop on the corner if you want to go somewhere beyond Uptown. Off street parking in driveway. Other Things to NoteI'm saying it sleeps 4 as there is a double bed in each of the bedrooms but the couch is long so could be set up as a bed as well. If you are a large family or a group of friends traveling together...rent out the entire duplex , upstairs and down (See Cozy Brinley 2 BR Apt 1) and "Party On" :)

It is important to note that after you make a booking we are quite flexible about checking you in /handing over the keys to you, however, arrivals after 9PM on exceptional basis only. (Now that Emily has returned to university Judi lives 1/2 hour away so we need you to be very communicative if your arrival time changes.) Saint John has struggled in the past years with its economy and some of the home exteriors reflect the fallout of that..but neighbors are friendly and will be happy to welcome you to their city and tell you Many Stories! Getting AroundWe are only blocks from major transit.....and taxi fair is usually only $7 for any commute around town... Parking is available in our private lane and long term visitors can purchase a temporary parking permit for only $5 for each week they are with us. Transportation to and from the airport is available through taxi service for $30 and if available the Inn will be happy to offer transportation for $20.

Interaction with GuestsIt is your space while you are our guests. The NeighborhoodClifton Royal is a Canadian rural community in Kings County New Brunswick. It is connected to Quispamsis via the Gondola Point Ferry, a 7 minute cable ferry that connects the two points. This quaint community has some of the most stunning views in New Brunswick. Getting AroundThe cottage lies 2 km SW of the Gondola point ferry which provides easy access into Quispamsis for groceries, supplies or an evening out on the town. Downtown Saint John is approximately 40 minutes away. There is parking for 4 vehicles. Other Things to NoteWhile staying here we recommend you take some time to enjoy New Brunswick. Here are some great attractions. 1) Fundy National Park hosts some of the last remaining wilderness in southern New Brunswick. Here, the conifer dominated Caledonia Highlands roll down to meet the fog-generating Bay of Fundy. The tidal fluctuation of the Bay of Fundy is the highest in the world. Watch fishing boats come and go to the rhythm of the bay. Inland, explore lush forests and deep stream valleys. 2) The Kingston Farmers Market has over 70 vendors of various agricultural, food and artisan products both displayed inside and outside in the courtyard and is just a short drive away from the cottage, or an easy bike ride. 3) Saint John, Canada’s oldest incorporated city, is also the only city on the beautiful Bay of Fundy. The city of St. John and the ferry to Nova Scotia are 20 minutes away. There are abundant hiking and bicycle trails in the area. Kayak rentals are 2 km from the house. The U.S. border in Calais, Maine, is an hour's drive. The Hopewell Rocks are less than 2 hours from the house. Fredericton is 1 1/2 hours and Moncton 1 hour. Getting AroundYou will need a car. Major car rental companies are represented at the airport in St. John or the airport in Bangor, Maine. Other Things to NoteWe are pet-friendly and welcome well-behaved pets to our home. What a shame to have to leave your dog behind when he could be enjoying the beach along with you. We do ask that unattended pets be crated while you are away. There is an outside dog run on the property but there is no shade. There are two roll aways on the premises to allow guests with young children additional accommodations. House actually accommodates 4 adults and 2 children.

The SpaceIt is a lovely old apartment, complete with hard wood floors and well heated. It sits in a historic area of town, in Uptown by the Bay. It is has a great deal of open space and includes a back porch and yard. The corner closest to the apartment is a point at which you can turn and see the ocean from three different directions. Quite spectacular! Guest AccessGuests have access to their own private bedroom with a new Serta Bed (double/full size), Washer/Dryer in the apartment, Kitchen (including stove, fridge, utensils, dishes, etc.), Bathroom, and Wifi. Interaction with GuestsI am a very sociable person. Although, I understand that many prefer peace and quiet. I can very easily respect this and give my guests space and privacy, after all, its what they are paying for!         Watch the powerful Bay of Fundy tides rise and fall at the lawn's edge from this luxury beachfront vacation home. Two beautifully appointed bedrooms, kitchen, dining and living rooms with full ocean views. Two full baths, one with jet tub, wood burning fireplaces in living room and master bedroom, dishwasher, washer, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, covered deck and gas BBQ. Full communication services with high-speed internet, phone and satellite TV. The toughest decision will be whether to explore the world-class Fundy Trail Parkway or stay at home and launch kayaks from the lawn's edge, beach comb and walk on the ocean floor. You will be lured outside with the peaceful grace of these surroundings, not just because of the recreational possibilities but because you will crave the smell and sight and sounds of it. Steeped in history, this property looked very different in the 19th century. One hunderd and seventy five years ago saw slipways and wooden vessels built on this property as this was the location of an age-of-sail shipyard. There's still lots for the amateur archaeologist to discover, from the blunted stumps of the slipway pilings where sailing vessels were launched to spikes and rusty tools buried in the soil. The home was built in 2001 by Matthew and Valerie Mawhinney as a second home and convienent spring lobster fishing base as Matthew makes his living as a commercial fisherman.

Where the road meets the sea-- the cottage is located on a beautiful wooded point of land at the end of a country lane in the fishing village of Chance Harbour, NB. It looks out onto both the bay and a cove, as well as a small uninhabited island which you can walk to at mid/low tide. Nearby fishing villages include Dipper Harbour, Maces Bay and further along the coast are Saint Andrews, Saint George and Black's Harbour ----to ferries to Deer Island, Campobello and Grand Manan.             The SpaceOur home is a hidden hamlet in the Westside of Saint John, New Brunswick overlooking Partridge Island in the Bay of Fundy. Cozy 1 bedroom located in the upstairs "Tower" of our smoke-free home. The picture window overlooks Bayshore Beach and Partridge Island on the Bay of Fundy. Minutes from beautiful beach. 2 Blocks from bus route and near shopping amenities. It is a family shared home; however, we work through the day - early to bed and early to rise. We have two English Springer Spaniel dogs - Max & William. You will have access to the upstairs bedroom and private bathroom with a bath tub. Linens will be provided; free WiFi included; laundry facilities available onsite or laundry services can be arranged. Non-smoking; bar style fridge available for personal use. Shared kitchen with dishwasher. We both work Monday-Friday differing shifts 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. with weekends off. The kids are young adults - one at home and one in school. Westside of Saint John provides close proximity to shopping and restaurants, as well as public transportation. Quiet, post WWII homes and schools nearby with access to walking / biking trails, beautiful Bay of Fundy Bayshore Beach and parks. Short drive from Highway 1; Public Transportation available using Saint John Transit (if necessary). There is several taxi services available, as well as car rental companies (if necessary). There is ample parking for several vehicles using a shared driveway with neighbours. We have two dogs in residence. Both are English Springer Spaniels (approximately 65 lbs each). There are curtains covering the doorway. We will gate the upstairs to ensure the dogs do not bother you during your stay. I also have a small store on the premises which has maybe your favorite ice cream cone along with my own artwork and unique antiques and vintage items for sale of this area. Past guests call it the most spiritual and relaxing spot they have been to. Even when it is foggy it is so quiet and peaceful . All you can hear is a loon or a bird chirping in the distance. No hustle and bustle here . Just layed back people and calming thoughts. Great beaches nearby and the ever popular fundy Trail Parkway which is again a spectacular day adventure nearby depicting stunning views of the Bay of fundy and coastal region. Great fish restaurants in nearby St. Martins with covered bridges, sea caves to explore and a light house. I have lived here since day one and that is a total of fifty eight years and know this area like the back of my hand. New Brunswick is one of the most diverse provinces in the east and will capture your heart and leave you wanting to come again. Guest AccessThis house is set up so that guests have the full run of the house and can use the kitchen to cook other meals in during the day or make a lunch to take with them on their day adventures. I leave and go home to my own home in the evenings so the guests have the entire house to themselves at night and then i return back in the morning to cook the breakfast and clean up for the day. When a family of five or six come in they take over the entire house using all three bedrooms. I am there on the premises every day between 1:00pm. and 6:00 pm. in my gallery/shop to welcome my guests and get them settled for their stay. I am always available for questions and inquiries. guests also have access to the laundry facilities if they would like to use them and there is also a bar b que in the front veranda and propane for their use also. Homemade sweets in the kitchen are available to all guests to enjoy while they visit. There is a lot of outside space around on my old farm land which is nice to just stroll and unwind after a long drive or travel. Interaction with GuestsI am very knowledgeable of my area and try to help answer questions pertaining to directions and travel distances and just overall information about different things pertaining to our area. The house is in a rural area, on a peninsula, which has four different ferries for access in all directions, but this can make navigation a little disorienting. Then to wake up in the morning to a gorgious sunrise over the bay as you sit and look out the window at breakfast. Everyone knows everyone for miles around so makes for a friendly ,caring community. Very historic also.Everyone who has stayed wants to come back so that says it all. Getting AroundWe are located outside of the city of Saint John, We are east of the city out in the country along the Bay of fundy shoreline. One either has to have their own car or they can rent a car at the Saint John airport if coming in by plane or at one of the rental car agencies in the city. There are no buses out this way or trains. Other Things to NoteI have been doing this now for sixteen years and love meeting all of my guests and hearing their stories of travel and such.It has been a real pleasure to serve the public in this way and hope to continue for a long time. I rent out three bed rooms nightly. The only difference is I do not live in this house anymore.
