The SpaceWe are a very easy going couple, Andrea is an engineer and Corey is in school stusying Geologt. We have a spare room in our large apartment in downtown St. John's. It is within a minute walk of George Street, cafes, bars, restaurants, shopping, tourist information, a liquor store and pharmacy. There are onsite laundry facilities. The spare room is huge with a double bed and plenty of storage space, and it is fully stocked with a variety of tea and coffee. If you're only in town for a short time then you can't beat the location, it's right in the heart of downtown, only a block away from the waterfront, within walking distance of Signal Hill and a very short drive from Cape Spear. There's a bus stop right outside the building with routes to the malls and university etc. It is a classified heritage building so it is old and you can expect a fair bit of street noise at night (especially on weekends). Also, the entrance to the building leaves something to be desired, but the apartment is nice and clean! We don't spend very much time at home so you will likely have the place to yourself most of the time, but we love meeting new people and would be happy to recommend our favourite things to see and do while you're here. If you would like to cook, feel free to use anything in the apartment, there is a fully stocked kitchen and you're welcome to share space in the fridge and freezer. Parking downtown is free on evenings and weekends. During the day it may be necessary to pay if you're staying in the downtown core. And finally, there is high speed Internet available in the apartment.

The SpaceI have 3 bedrooms available in a very clean, quiet, bright, 3-storey Victorian home. Each is fully furnished and available on short or long term. There is a formal livingroom (with fireplace), fully stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one with original clawfoot tub and separate NEW marble walk-in shower), Wifi internet, TV room, washer/dryer, hardwood flooring, free on-street parking. The house is owner-occupied by a university professor, 2 long-term tenants, and 2 cats. With over 1000 sqf per floor, spread over 3 floors and a basement, it is very private. The bathrooms are shared (sorry, I do not have any ensuites). This listing is for a bedroom on the 2nd floor. The bedroom is approximately 256 sqf (16' x 16') and is furnished with a double bed, small couch, 2 dressers, desk, and wardrobe. The rates listed here are for 1 room. If you have a larger group looking for space, please send me an inquiry and/or a second request via my other listing (3rd-floor). Guest AccessOn check-in you will get your own key to come and go as you please. You will have use of both bathrooms (shared), the living room, the backyard, the kitchen, and the washer/dryer. There are 2 refrigerators (full size and mini) in the kitchen for your use. You are welcome to cook (and to clean up after yourself). You are also welcome to use the BBQ and patio (no smoking inside). There is a deck heater for cooler evenings. Interaction with GuestsMy schedule is often quite flexible and on most days I am seldom more then 10-15 minutes from the house. When guests are interested, I often join them for drinks in the evenings, sometimes for cigars on the patio (I travel to Havana regularly with work - and keep a cigar supply at home). The NeighborhoodThe house is located on the same street as The Rooms (art gallery/archives/museum complex), and the Roman Catholic Basilica. It is in the historic Georgestown neighbourhood. It is a 10 minute walk to Duckworth street (almost straight downhill), 15 minutes to the university campus, less than 5 minutes to a grocery and liquor store (Sobeys) and, in the opposite direction, to the Georgestown Bakery (the BEST bakery in Newfoundland) and Georgestown Cafe. Getting AroundThere is free on-street parking and a bus stop a few meters from the front door. It is in one of the most walkable and (yes I'm biased) most fabulous neighbourhoods in St. John's. Other Things to NoteSt. John's is a city of hills and I live near the top of one of those. It will take you 10 minutes to walk to Duckworth/Water Street - but a bit longer to climb back home. Likewise, my house has 3-storeys (with high ceilings), which also means a lot of stairs. I can't advise on how hard you will find the hills (a common question asked by tourists - I walk it daily without difficulty, but it depends on you).

The SpacePrivate room with a real and super comfortable double bed that will put you to sleep! Food Places to check out: 1-Sunday Jigs dinner at the Celtic Hearth Pub in downtown. ~$21 but its totally worth it! He is not allowed into guest rooms and everything in the bedrooms is meticulously clean so there will be no issue of cat hair around. I have taken travellers to Bell Island before and other amazing spots! The NeighborhoodQuiet Getting AroundCentrally located in the heart of St. John's city and only 20 minutes walk to the downtown core and the best bar scene in North America! On bus route and walking distance to restaurants, 24 h grocery stores and the Avalon Mall, liquor store, pharmacy and the St. John's Farmers Market! You can bike, walk or take a cab for few dollars. A cab ride from airport is the meter reading plus airport fee ($5). To my house, it will be approximately $(20 to 22)+5 Other Things to Note2 Bedrooms are available. Located in the downtown corridor the house is walking distance to Water St/ Duckworth Street shops (2 blocks), Government house (1 block), Sheraton Hotel (3 blocks), Delta Hotel (8 Blocks) George Street (10 min walk) and other attractions. You are right in the center of everything Extra large home was lovingly restored and offers over 3300 sq feet of living space, including a large greenhouse/conservatory on the top floor for enjoying your morning coffee or afternoon sunset meal. Full wireless internet coverage in the house (does not extend into back yard) Features King bed master bedroom, with adjoining full under twin (bunk) room, master bath with 2 person bath and 2 person shower steamer. Relax and have your own steam or sit in a full sized luxury 2 person tub. A new larger commercial water heater was added in December 2014 for longer showers/bath time. Three more QUEEN sized bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms on 2nd floor. Fully renovated kitchen with $21,000 wood fired pizza oven and full gourmet kitchen and 1100 sq foot entertainment and dining area. The SpaceSo, first off - it should go without saying that this is not some fancy pants hotel - you will be sharing the house with three or four young, working people, (and possibly a couchsurfer or two). The room however, is private, and being on the third floor, fairly quiet. The room has a modest window with a beautiful view of the narrows and the southside hills. If you are traveling as a group and need more sleeping space, there is also a double bed in a semi-private third floor 'nook' and two full-length couches downstairs. If you are coming with a vehicle, there is free parking at the end of the street. Guest AccessWireless internet (FibreOP), washer, dryer, shower, and access to the fully functional kitchen are included, along with other communal spaces of the house (chiefly the living room, deck, and backyard). The living room has a public computer and small library that you are more than welcome to use. Interaction with GuestsWe are (generally) a very welcoming bunch of people and are used to hosting, so feel free to 'interact' with us as much or as little as you'd like; however, with this in mind, please be respectful of your hosts. We are not here for your entertainment, and while generally happy to answer any questions about the area, etc, generally expect you to do your own thing. The NeighborhoodWe live in a colourful neighbourhood in the heart of St. John's, with a plenty of trails, green space, historic churches, the Rooms, bars, restaurants, and other attractions nearby. Getting AroundThe house is more or less at the central 'cusp' of the downtown, so ~5 minutes to either George St. et al. Ditto for the grocery store (Sobeys), and if that's too far then there is a corner store or two even closer. The house is on a bus route and we have a number of bikes that you are allowed to use as well.

The Reluctant Chef (a set plate menu for the foodie crowd) Saltwater (a great seafood restaurant, with tapas at the bar) and Shalamar (an Indian restaurant with good takeout) also if you feel like crossing the road and going down the block there is great fish and chips at the Duke of Duckworth (famous as the hang out for the stars of the TV show Republic of Doyle) And a great little bar called The Vinyl Room Just out the back door and down the stairs enjoy! The NeighborhoodWe live on a mews in central downtown St John's in a very safe and friendly neighbourhood We have lived here for 27 years now and so have most of our neighbours We are a short walk from two theatres Four historic churches The Ship and the Duke ( two iconic bars ) Some very good restaurants And the Rooms Art Gallery and Museum There is a Sobeys grocery store just up across from the Rooms Getting AroundWe have bus stops very close by Other Things to NoteWe have parking pass for parking on the street, usually not a problem.

The SpaceOur home is the old Orangeman's Lodge situated in an old fishing community overlooking the ocean towards Bell Island. You can sit down at the Point and watch the whales or just sit and enjoy an incredible sunset. Just across my front door, hike up to Grey Man's Beard where a breath taking view of Bell Island, Conception Bay await. Guest AccessJust across my front door, minutes to a lovely hike up to Grey Man's Beard, breath taking view of Bell Island, Conception Bay. You can also go over to Bell Island just a 15 min ferry ride and visit the mines . Getting AroundThere is no public transit. We do have 2 Portugal Cove Taxi's that go to town frequently at a flat rate of $10.00.

The SpaceA small, cozy fire room to the front of the house with a Edwardian fireplace. Shared bathroom (second floor) and shared kitchen (main floor) and family room (main floor). Continental breakfast included. Our bedrooms are on the second floor so we generally stay out of each others way. Internet included - flat screen tv with DVD player but no cable. Our neighbourhood is Upper Down Town and the house over looks the harbour. We are close to groceries (10 min walk), Liquor store, bus stop (across the street) and downtown (5 min walk). We are also right across the street from The Rooms (local museum) as well as the Basilica, and hiking trails are 2 - 3 km away. Interaction with GuestsWe interact quite a bit with our guests (we are curious creatures), but aside from providing privacy, we also try to give them space when they want to cook in the kitchen so that they can have a feeling like it is their own. The NeighborhoodA fantastic diverse neighbourhood close to just about every thing wonderful. Getting AroundEverything is walking distance, cabs are easy to grab, bus stop across the street.

The Spaceroom in a home in the east end of the capital city of St. John's Newfoundland. Close to airport, restaurants and shopping. One double bed, breakfast included, from 8 to 10. There is parking, bus stop to downtown a minute walk. Internet. My first time doing this so we will do our best to help our guest in anyway we can. Access to our Newfoundland room which is a comfortable setting to enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea and read about Newfoundland culture while waiting for breakfast. Complimentary newspaper and bicycle available if requested in advance for a nominal fee. Nonsmokers only. We look forward to sharing our beautiful historic city with you. Even though we are not in the center of the city, the fact remains we are not far from anything. You can get to any landmark, restaurant, nightclub, festival in less than 10 minutes drive. You can see signal hill on a clear day. We are next to fast food, restaurants and shopping and a half hour walk to downtown. Five minute walk to the New YMYWCA. We treat our guest like family, if we can help out in anyway we will. If we can't we will find someone who will. If we can't do that we will (website hidden) it. Lol. Bottom line, we will help you have a pleasant stay. The funds are nice but the friendships are often nicer.

Split entry home is on a half acre landscaped lot on quiet Cul De Sac in a country-like setting. There is parking available for two cars. Downstairs there is a large indoor storage area (shared with basement apartment tenants) that also has a full size washer and dryer (not shared). I'm an Artist and Architect so the house is tasteful yet quirky. Also I try to keep my home as scent free as possible if you have allergies. It has a dresser small desk and an antique wardrobe. Feel free to use the kitchen and the outdoor deck. I will go out of my way to make sure you have an amazing holiday and my very sweet dog will do his part to entertain you if you encourage him. This is a lovely treed heritage neighbourhood next to downtown. The SpaceThis fully furnished and equipped 2 Story, Detached house is located in Torbay, approximately 15 - 20 minutes or 12 -15km) from the Health Sciences Complex, Downtown St. John’s and Memorial University. The house is located off the main road and is on a very quiet residential street. There is no bus route so a vehicle is required. There is a small grocery store approximately 3 minutes (by car) from the house. There is a larger grocery store, Wal Mart, Costco, Winners, as well as a couple of restaurants about 12 minutes (by car) from the house. The East coast Trail is a two minute walk from the house. The main floor has 600 square feet while the 2nd floor area has 640 square feet. Gorgeous panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean looking out over the hillsides of the beautiful Town of Torbay. There are two bedrooms (Master Bedroom is 14×14 with an en suite; second Bedroom is 10×11), and a Den. There are two full bathrooms, including the en suite. There is a half bathroom (toilet and sink) in the downstairs area. House was totally renovated 2 years ago with new appliances, light fixtures etc. Amenities include: new Queen sized beds in each of the bedrooms with linens; towels, dishes, pots and pans, utensils, 40 inch LED flat screen TV’s in each of the bedrooms; 46 inch flat screen TV in living room, DVD players in the living room and the master bedroom, stackable full-size washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, outdoor BBQ, coffee maker, vacuum cleaner and shop vac. There is plenty of parking for two cars/trucks. Absolutely no pets and no smokers. The SpaceWe want all our guests to know, that our home is not a formal B and B or hotel, but our home that we rent out to guests of Newfoundland. We also encourage you to contact us during your stay to communicate any questions, needs, or concerns. Although we are out of town much of the time, we do our best to answer concerns within a few hours. Our home: Upper down town character (circa 1890) home overlooking St. John’s harbour with large shared back yard (trees and natural garden). Many windows to the back of the house offering lots of light. Two bedrooms and - Master (overlooking St. John's harbour) has a double bed with sink in dressing area. The second room has a king size bed - the washer and dryer also reside in this room. One bathroom, kitchen (microwave), and back common space over looking St. John's harbour. Diverse neighbourhood with caring neighbours. Within 10 minute walking distance of down town, grocery store, liquor store. Within a half hour walk of university and East coast hiking trails over looking the Atlantic waters (whale watching and icebergs in the summer months). Washer, dryer and internet included. Two coffee shops across the street - near The Rooms and Basilica Cathedral. Bus stop across the street. Our home is peaceful and warm and enjoys the presence of visitors. The location is ideal and a car is not necessary to experience many parts of St. John's. If guests do have a car, however, there is free parking out front and almost to the bottom of the hill. Guest AccessMost rooms - the closet in the second room upstairs is off limits as well as the lower dresser drawers in the master bedroom and the desk. Basement is off limits as well. The SpaceThis lovely home is situated on a crescent, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but only minutes from downtown, grocery shopping and box store shopping. A park with playground and tennis courts is just up the street where you can also get an amazing view of the cliffs and ocean. Drive out to Middle Cove Beach, only minutes away, to hike a trail, have a bonfire or enjoy the ocean view. The East Coast Trail has rugged and paved sections of differing lengths for both the intrepid and more laid-back walker. This is a family home, geared for families. Enjoy the day together in the comfort of your own space, with your own place to come back to after seeing sites, making memories and having fun. Make your own meals, celebrate with a home-made birthday cake, get any laundry done without any hassle. It's comfortable and accommodating. There is a main upstairs bedroom with queen sized bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and tub. There are two other guest rooms upstairs: one with a set of bunk beds, and another with a double sized bed. The main bathroom upstairs has shower and tub as well as a washer and dryer for a convenient place to do laundry. There is a fourth bedroom in the basement with a single bed for someone who would like a bit more privacy. A half bathroom is on the main floor, between the kitchen and front door. The main floor has a living room with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a piano, and large screen t.v. Please enjoy the books on the shelves, remembering to replace them before you leave. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, mixing bowls, frying pans etc. for family-fun meals. The basement has a second t.v. as well as an extensive collection of board and card games. These games range from easy to difficult with any number of players and is an excellent way to interact with friends and family one evening while enjoying favourite snacks. Free internet and wifi is throughout the house. Enjoy a relaxing morning with specialty coffee from our Keurig while catching up on the news on your ipad. Keep in contact, upload family photos and have a great time together! Guest AccessGuests will have access to all three floors: top, main and basement. However, a section of the basement will be unavailable to guests. The garage will also be accessible. Interaction with GuestsOur manager-on-site will give you the keys and show you around the house. If there are any questions or emergencies, they can be contacted immediately. The NeighborhoodOur neighbourhood is a mix of different generations, all very friendly and able to lend a hand. The park nearby is a focus of activity for families with young children, teenagers and adults having playground equipment, field and tennis courts. There are walking trails that link up throughout St. John's taking you around ponds, under highways and through wooded areas. It is a lovely residential area that, although set on a crescent, is close to everything a family may need (grocery stores, library, pharmacy, even Ches' Fish and Chips). Getting AroundAt the bottom of the crescent is a bus stop for regular public city transit.

The SpaceThe house is fairly spacious with two full bathrooms. In addition to the bedroom the guest has a separate TV room just down the hall from the bedroom. Wifi is available. I have a small dog who is very quiet and friendly. He is kennelled during the day while I'm at work. Guest AccessGuest will be given a key for access. House has a large backyard with a deck. Interaction with GuestsLittle to no interaction with guest unless guest would like to converse. I live in the house but work week days outside the house. The NeighborhoodThe neighbour is close to the university and the Health Science Center. It is a quiet neighbour and within walking distance to a grocery store and a small shopping plaza. For anyone who likes walking there are walking trails and a parks close. Getting AroundIf you have a car that's great as I have parking for a vehicle. However there is easy access to public transit as there is a bus stop within a one minute walk from my home. Other Things to NoteMy dog is small and very quiet, he is in his kennel during the day when I am at work.
