The SpaceWelcome to our home! While staying with us, you can expect a very cozy, 'homey' atmosphere, with family photos, clothing in some closets, etc. :-) Also, being our home, the space should have just about everything you need for a comfortable stay. We hope you make yourself at home.
The house is five years old, and is on a private 3 acre lot located in a cul-de-sac., surrounded by trees and wildlife. The house is bright and open with lots of windows. The kitchen includes all necessary appliances, which are available at your disposal. Please feel free to use condiments, spices, coffee, tea, etc during your stay.
Our downstairs level can accommodate up to four people with a full washroom. It has a private bedroom with a queen bed, and a double pull out sofa (with a comfy foam top!) in the rec room. The rec room has a sliding barn door for privacy. The downstairs bedroom has a large window, however during the fall-winter, this view is blocked by a wood pile. The rec room includes a pool table, and 42" TV with Xbox, Blu-ray player and access to Netflix. While staying in the downstairs level you will have the entire floor to yourself.
If you require more bed space during your stay on top of the two beds downstairs, you are also welcome to make use of our upstairs guest room. This room has a queen bed and a single bed, as well as a private full bathroom on the same level.
The entire home includes high speed wi-fi, and you are welcome to make use of our washer and dryer during your stay. Guest AccessYou are welcome to access entire main level (kitchen, living room) as well as the downstairs if you are staying in downstairs bedroom, and upstairs if you are staying in the upstairs bedroom. Typically, guests will stay in the downstairs bedroom and essentially have their own private level (bedroom, rec room with pull out sofabed, full washroom). The garage and shed are private. Interaction with GuestsWe will likely be here during your stay, but that is not certain. If we are around, the amount you see us is completely up to you! We love getting to know our guests who have traveled from near and far; however if privacy is what you'd prefer we are fine with that as well. :-) We are available to answer any questions you may have about the area or the details of your trip. Don't forget to add your home city to our travel map in the living room! The NeighborhoodThe home is located in a newly developed, private subdivision with large wooded lots and lots of wildlife. We love this neighborhood because it is quiet and peaceful, with friendly neighbors. Perfectly located 12 minutes from the airport, close to Grand Lake parks, and a 10 minute drive to Fall River or Elmsdale for groceries, etc. Getting AroundNot located on a Metro Transit bus route. Closest Metro Transit stop is a 12 minute drive in Fall River and Airport. Taxis are available, but the fare is $36 to/from the airport. We may be able to help arrange less costly means of transport for you to get to/from the airport. Other Things to NoteA cab to/from the house/airport is $36 each way, but if you need ride, let us know and we may be able to assist you in arranging another, less costly form of transportation.
There is a friendly cat who lives in the house and her name is Whippersnapper. If you don't like cats, you will after your stay! If you do like cats, you're in for a treat! She has ditched us at night to sleep with guests, so if this doesn't interest you, you may want to close the bedroom door.
