The SpaceOur 1300 sq. ft. house has three large bedrooms upstairs with center hall and a full bath. On the main level there is plenty of comfortable space with a living room. den, sun room and large eat-in fully equipped kitchen and 1/2 bath. There is a screened deck with table and chairs for outdoor dining. Guest AccessThe house has its own extensive lawns with an outdoor fireplace. There is also a small wooded area that makes it feel very private,although it does obscure the view of the ocean. It has it's own path of about 200 hundred feet to the bay waterfront which can be used for swimming or boating We are a five minute drive away from a beautiful mile long sand beach, one of many that are close by. Interaction with GuestsWe live at the other end of this 4 acre property so we are available to help make your stay as pleasant and worry free as possible. We are there if needed and we try to respect the privacy of our guests The NeighborhoodAlthough the accommodation feels very private there is lots to do nearby. In 5 minutes you are at Cherry Hill beach , followed by 4 more stunning beaches all within 20 minutes. This area is perfect for kayaking, swimming and beach combing. But don't forget the nearby cafes, farm markets, music festivals, arts and craft galleries, antique shops and the historic towns that surround us such as Liverpool, Shelburne, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. This all makes our vacation rental an ideal location for everything you might like to see and do on the south shore of Nova Scotia Getting AroundYou will definitely need a car for touring any part of Nova Scotia. We do provide a parking area for your vehicle. Other Things to NoteThe house is fully equipped including all the linens and towels. Just bring yourselves with the intention of having a good time.

The SpaceWhat a spot the cottage is 660sq feet, with a King size bed overlooking Eagle Head Bay.The rental unit is on the top floor below you is just a storage area for myself, however if you have a motorcycle.or bicycle or kayak you can store it down below. Guest AccessYou have access to a bbq, picnic table and a fire pit, and lawn furniture. Interaction with GuestsWill be available to answer any questions and provide details of the area. I do a lot of cycling, motorcycling, kayaking and can offer advice on where to go.

The SpaceLovely 160 year old renovated school house on the Atlantic ocean for rent by the week or longer. THIS PROPERTY IS ALSO FOR SALE. We offer an ideal writing retreat or sabbatical location - just far enough from Halifax to keep you focused. (And yet close enough to beaches, hiking trails, golfing, museums, shops and galleries for well deserved relaxation!). Our old school house offers guests two large, open-concept bedrooms on the second floor - one of which overlooks the Atlantic ocean (my favorite room for reading, marking and keeping an eye on the ocean). The main floor has a newly refurbished 4-piece bathroom, a cosy TV room with a varied movie and music collection, a selection of books and board games for rainy days, Wifi access for those who are easily distracted, a large living room with woodstove, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is a large deck on the ocean side of the property with a propane BBQ and deck furniture for hanging out and reading in the afternoon sun. Expect to hear the ocean waves, fog horns, birds of various types and if you time it just right, a full moon over the ocean and a clear sky filled with stars. (Just don't expect to hear the sound of someone knocking at your door!). This peaceful retreat is on a 1.25 acre property and the 'neighbourhood' is very low-key and folks in the area are respectful of our guests' privacy.     Built in 1833, this stately Georgian home has been graciously renovated and restored, and is now available as a sophisticated vacation rental home for the discerning couple or couples. Named after the original owner, The Samuel Fairbanks house is the embodiment of elegance with its gleaming hardwood floors, stylishly appointed rooms, unifying design, modern appliances and fixtures. Beautifully furnished with an interesting blend of art and antiques, Chinese pottery, rich wool rugs, and comfortable pieces, the house is a pleasing mix of traditional design and modern amenities. This tasteful home should be gracing the pages of a high end home design magazine. From the moment you walk in to the main foyer and see the two living rooms with matching fireplaces, you will be captured by the style and spirit of the Samuel Fairbanks House. With rooms to spare, the main floor features a well-equipped main kitchen as well as a smaller butler's pantry. There is a large formal dining room for entertaining and a couple of smaller seating areas for casual meals. Both of the living rooms and the charming study feature wood burning fireplaces and luxuriously soft furnishings that envelop you in relaxing comfort. There are four large bedrooms and four full bathrooms. All three of the upstairs bedrooms have en-suite washrooms; two of these bedrooms have king size beds, while the third has a queen size bed. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with hotel quality beds and bed linens, rich rugs, nautical paintings, antique chests of draws and plenty of closet space. The cottage needs to be as clean at departure as it was at time of arrival. If the cottage doesn't meet the cleanness the guests will be charged $150 from the security deposit. Linens & Towels: linen service is offerered for an additional fee of $12,50 per person, this includes bed linen (flatted sheet, fixed sheet, duvet, duvet covers and 2 towels per person). Smoking:Our holiday homes do not allow smoking inside the premises. Where it is found that the renter has contravened the holiday home policy on smoking, a $150 cleaning charge will be deducted from the security deposit. Pets: Pets are not allowed. Where it is found that the renter has not followed the holiday home policy on pets a $150 cleaning charge will be deducted from the security deposit. Garbage Disposal:If the renter fails to dispose of garbage and recycling as indicated in the Blueberry Bay Cottage Rental Information Sheet, a disposal charge of up to $50 will be deducted from the security deposit. Lost/Misplaced Keys:Up to $50 will be deducted from the security deposit for failure to return the keys within the stipulated time. Early Check-in/Late Check-out: A $75 fee applies for check-ins prior to 13.30 pm and check-outs after 10.30 am. Check-in is at 13.30pm - 15.30pm local time on the day of arrival. The house was built in the 50's and has a low ceiling in the basement I am always worries someone will bump their head and we use that for storage so only our property manager goes in the lower level if he is servicing the house or getting something for a clients. Interaction with GuestsWe always carry our cell and answer the phone any time of the day or evening unless we are on or in the water, just leave us a message and we will call you back immediately. We do have a property manager just a few houses down the road and he is handy to help with anything. The NeighborhoodThe property is nestled into a historical region established in the late 1700's. The paved country road meanders along side the river and the scenery is spectacular, the birds singing, the sound of the river passing by and we have eagles nesting along the river which we see frequently both in the back yard and while we walk along. Across the river we also have a lovely park with a beach to swim, hike or relax in the sun, just a five minute drive! Getting AroundHalifax, Peggy's Cover, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Bridgewater, Annapolis Valley, Shelburne, Yarmouth. One of the unique features of this property is it's location all of amazing places to visit are within a hour and a half's drive Halifax being the farthest point. If you are flying in or picking up family and friends at the airport the Halifax airport is not much further we always take the Hammonds Plains cut off to the airport and that saves the extra time vs distance. There is lots of parking at the location and the town of Liverpool has a taxi service. Other Things to NoteThe town has a fresh water well that they maintain and test daily. All of the water is free and comes from a well so there are no chemicals of contaminants so there are no additives in the water it is wonderful drinking water. Please take the 5 gallon water bottle in the dispenser, fill it and fill all your water bottles for day trips and excursions it is all free and delicious!

The park like setting of the property has extensive lawns, fruit trees, walking trails and wooded areas. Our charming updated home has an extensive living area which includes a living room, den, sun room, and eat-in kitchen. For your outdoor enjoyment we provide a screened deck with eating area and gas BBQ. There is also an open air fireplace. The house is fully furnished with many comfortable spaces and personal touches. For down time there is a well stocked library and games. This area of the south shore is perfect for kayaking, swimming and beach combing as there are 5 beautiful beaches within 25 minutes. But don't forget the nearby cafes, farm markets, arts and craft galleries and the historic towns that surround us such as Liverpool, Shelburne, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg Our village is one of the many fishing communities that dot the south shore. We have our own marine park for public use. We also have a united communities fire hall that puts on events and breakfasts during the year. At our other community hall we have a great children's playground and ball field. There are walking rails to trails (hiking areas) and if you are lucky you might even catch a fish off the wharf.

Named after the original owner, The Samuel Fairbanks house is the embodiment of elegance with its gleaming hardwood floors, stylishly appointed rooms, unifying design, modern appliances and fixtures. Beautifully furnished with an interesting blend of art and antiques, Chinese pottery, rich wool rugs, and comfortable pieces, the house is a pleasing mix of traditional design and modern amenities. This tasteful home should be gracing the pages of a high end home design magazine. From the moment you walk in to the main foyer and see the two living rooms with matching fireplaces, you will be captured by the style and spirit of the Samuel Fairbanks House.
