WELCOME to the "Nestled Cottage" in the village of River John. If you are seeking a sweet, cozy cottage (built in 2011) for a weekend, week or extended stay, then this could be the place you're been searching for.
Located on a quiet street, a 200 foot walk to the ocean inlet and within a 10 min walk to the village. It is surrounded with a sheltered verandah and lovely tall trees.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, the larger of which has a queen size bed that sleeps 2, the smaller a single bed for 1 and a pull-out couch that sleeps 2. It has a lovely kitchen, pine floors and lots of peace and quiet.
The village itself has a library with CAP site, a convenience store, restaurant, gas, some of the warmest water in Nova Scotia throughout the summer and the best sunsets anywhere.
Two great beaches, Skinner's Cove and Rushton Beach, are a 4min drive away. There are several smaller beaches off Cape John Road and if you drive to the tip of it, there is a superb place to sit and watch the sunsets. You can also watch the fishing boats come in and you can buy fresh lobster at the wharf.
Close by ,15 mins, is the town of Tatamagouche with the legendary Train Station Inn providing fine dining and several other great places to eat and much more to see and do.
The Sutherland Stream Mill and Balmoral Grist Mill Museum are only 10 mins away, Brile Golf Course-15 mins, Truro-30 mins, Halifax-90 mins and the ferry to PEI is 25 mins away in Pictou County.
This picturesque part of Nova Scotia is teeming with local art and lots of great music. From Saturday night jam sessions to concerts and festivals held throughout the summer, you're sure to find some east coast entertainment to your liking.
