The SpaceNew for 2017 is a covered deck to give you more options on those days where there is too much sun or (hopefully not) a little rain. The SpaceThe beauty of Muskoka and the conveniences of the big city make this your number one vacation destination :) A recent restoration has brought this Muskoka gem to big city standards with luxuries such as... soaker tub, walk in shower, all season hot tub, heated floors, wood burning fireplace, hardwood floors, gentle slope to the water, large floating dock, outdoor hot and cold shower, large deck, fully equipped open concept kitchen, front load laundry and more. One of the most stunning features of this home is the year round sunsets that are directly outside of your window. This quiet private lake isn't a highway of motors yet big enough to spend the day fishing, canoeing and swimming. With only thirty six cottages on this lake you will never be swarmed with summer crowds. It is quiet yet minutes away from everything you need that nature can't give you. Food, beer, wine, gas and more! We are very close to snow mobile trails, ski hills, skating, snow shoeing and so much more! Historic Huntsville is just fourteen minutes away and is guaranteed to steel your heart. Jazz festival, movie festivals, Algonquin Theatre and so much more. You will love this town and be taken away by it's charm and friendly residents. Make sure to stop by "That Little Place by the Lights" for their famous lasagna as seen on the hit T.V. show "You Gotta Eat Here" This house, although in the woods and a "cottage" is stocked with all the fun things that make everyday life in Muskoka awesome KithenAid Mixer Ice cream maker Espresso machine Panini press Breville digital toaster Kohler designer faucet Stove to popcorn maker Juicer Every dish you need (and they match!) BBQ-six burner Wine fridge Keg fridge (if requested and enough notice is given) All new appliances (kitchen, laundry) Wii Gaming console DVD player Geneva stereo system with Ipod dock Vintage record player with record collection Board games (Bingo, twister, Jenga, etc) Locally hand made furnishings Wood burning stove (fireplace) 6 person hot tub (chlorine) 10 person floating island (inflatable) Swim up dock Paddle boat Row boat Outdoor hot/cold shower Fire pit (wood not provided) Great bass fishing in lake (rods not provided) etc. Interaction with GuestsAlthough you may find me charming on email we may never cross paths. I like to create a feeling of "this is your space" and therefore have set everything up in a way that you come and go on your own. A lock box and complete guide book will help you make this cottage your home for the duration of your stay. If ever any problems arise I will be available 24hrs a day to help/guide you. We also have a wonderful property manager just 2 minutes away if you need any assistance. The NeighborhoodMirage lake is a smaller private lake north of Arrowhead park. This lake has only 52 cottages and is therefore very quiet and has a great sense of community as most of the residences are year round. The lake is a small spring fed body of water that gets very warm in the summer. There is also no public access which means you won't be disturbed by loud boats and jet skies all day. It's an amazing and unique place I'm sure you will adore Getting AroundAs we are about 14 minutes from town it is recommended that you drive.

The SpaceThis house is modest and spacious with great areas for dining inside and out. The bedrooms are tastefully appointed and include linens. Hot tub is being installed for November and rental price has been updated to reflect this new amenity. :) We are surrounded by trees and peace and quiet situated on 20 acres that abuts crown land. Its a great spot for hiking, or even camping. If you want to stay close to our amenities, we have a great deck with BBQ and surrounding yard to entertain on. It is a perfect spot for ATVs or Snowmobiles as it is conveniently located on Trail 4 which leads to the main OFSC Trails ( Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs) - There is also ample parking for trailers of all kinds. Sleds can be stored in our garage which also has a wood stove. Boaters can launch on our lake at the public launch, or enjoy big lake boating at the launch for Lake of Bays only 5 mins away! Our beach is small, but a lovely area to swim. it is shared with another cottage but is most often private. We have inflatables and beach toys for your use. We own a couple of kayaks that can be arranged for use for a small day rate. Other rentals can be arranged in the area through local businesses. We would be glad to assist! Guest AccessGuests have full use of house including the WiFi, BBQ , fire pit at the house and our shared beach. Interaction with GuestsWe love to welcome guests on the day of arrival to ensure they settle in and then leave you to enjoy the space! We love food and have had opportunities to entertain our guests with a pre-arranged meal on the first or last days of their stay. The NeighborhoodThe village of Baysville is a 4 km walk, bike ride or drive away. It has some great food shops, our very own Lake of Bays Brewery, local Pub, a cafe, The Cast Iron Restaurant, a gas station/ general store and lovely library with free high speed internet. There is a pretty waterfront park with a band shell that hosts music in the park and of course, the Baysville Dam with picnic area. Boat launch on Lake of Bays is 4 km from our place. Baysville happily hosts snowmobiling and ATV trails as well as designated roadways ! If you are sight seeing , we are close to Algonquin Park, Arrowhead Park and the Port Sydney Scenic Dam. Other Things to NotePlease note that this is our home, not the Hilton. We have a casual comfortable space that hopefully will feel like home to you too. Or home is older and has character. The bookshelves are stocked with interesting reads, and we have a games shelf for your use. Because it is a country home, there will at times be insects. For example, in the summer there are often ants and spiders in small doses and mosquitoes are bad in the evenings. During the winter months we heat with our furnace and primarily wood stove. We are happy to teach people how to use it and do stock convenient fire starting logs.

The SpaceNestled on 99 acres, with walking trails and a small lake guests have all to themselves. Our quiet lodging is minutes from Limberlost Nature Reserve, Algonquin Park, beaches, golf & more - though you might not even want to leave the property! Stoney Lonesome is now open with just one suite for discerning guests with a desire to experience nature. You will be surrounded by 99 acres of secluded forest on a quiet lake. There are no sounds from outboard motors or personal watercraft. In fact there is only the sounds of nature and perhaps your own paddle, powering a canoe. The property borders Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve just 15 minutes from Algonquin Park and 15 minutes from Huntsville. On arrival you will be met by your hosts and shown to your suite in the three-story, modern residence. You walk through to a solarium from which you can glimpse sunlight reflected from waves on the private lake. Here, when you leave your belongings and walk out onto the gently sloping green grass, you find a path to the dock where you might watch water birds such as geese, ducks, mergansers, all going about their daily affairs without a glance in your direction. There is peace in that. You don’t intrude. They move about with a quiet purpose but you have your own plan for the day. This might include some quiet meditation or yoga near the water or a walk beside the lake to look for mink or beaver. Or you could just find a comfortable chair, place it on the dock and wait for sunset. Now that’s ambition. The first thing you will notice when you venture out to follow one of the wide forest paths is stillness broken only by the sound of the wind in the trees, and the songs of birds. You might hear water running against the rocks in a stream or against the shore in the lake nearby. You see patches of blue sky through the tree canopy and feel warm sunshine on your skin. You will find promise in the forest with paths running to interesting and secluded places. In those places you might find a fox, a deer, perhaps even a moose. You will see and hear birds as well—many kinds of birds. Some of them are skittish and always just beyond your vision. Others are bold enough to snatch crumbs from your open hand and fly off to hide them in secret places in the forest. Some like hawks and ravens seem totally oblivious to your presence and stare past you with purpose and determination. In the evening you might hear the mournful call of a loon across the darkened water or even the howl of a wolf. You must be quiet and respectful in this place. You are but a visitor. The entire lower floor guest apartment (bedroom, bathroom, living room and sunroom facing the lake) is accessed by a separate entrance. WINTER GUESTS: Note that the sunroom is not heated, and is not available for use as a bedroom in colder months (Oct - May). The comfortable limit during these times is one couple (bedroom) + two children (futon). Also, the driveway in is long, and in winter weather, it is highly recommended to have winter tires to park near the house. At times of heavy snowfall or melting, we may ask you to park at the end of the driveway, particularly if without snow tires. We provide bed linens and towels for our guests. Guests also have the use of the lake, trails, various self-powered water craft (life jackets provided), and cooking facilities. Amenities very close by: Beaches, Golf, Algonquin Park, Limberlost Nature Reserve, History, Solitude, Quietness, Privacy, Wildlife, Nature. No public transit - we really are secluded. Rate noted is for up to 2 guests. Should you have a larger group (up to 4 in winter or 5 in summer), please include the number in your inquiry. Guest AccessGuests have access to their lower level guest suite via a separate entrance, as well as exclusive use of the forest trails and private lake. This is not a separate cottage. Interaction with GuestsWhile we do live on the property, we do our best to allow guests full privacy of use. We value our privacy, and respect the privacy of our guests. Whenever possible, we try to allow your own private enjoyment of the property. Check in time is from 4pm - 10pm. Please send an estimated time of arrival the morning of your check in. Check out time is no later than 11am. During summer months, these check in and check out limits are firm, as time is required to clean and prepare the suite. The NeighborhoodAmenities very close by: Beaches, Golf, Algonquin Park, Limberlost Nature Reserve, Deerhurst Resort, Solitude, Quietness, Privacy, Wildlife, Nature. Getting AroundNo local public transit. Other Things to NoteSUMMER GUESTS: Note that the occupancy limit is four adults (queen beds) and one child (futon). The SpaceOn Otter Lake, we frown on the noise and pollution from boat motors so only canoes, kayaks, sail boats and paddle boats can be seen albeit infrequently. The dock out to deeper water allows for swimming and diving or watercraft mooring. A winding granite lane sweeps down to the cottage/home's entrance courtyard where glimpses of the lake around and through the home can be seen. The cottage/home sits on an exposed plateau of the Canadian Shield at the base of a point within meters of the lake on one side and a bay on the other. Your attention will be captured as soon as the front door opens and you enter the foyer. Twenty five foot high floor to ceiling windows with 8' high and 7' wide sliding patio doors, flanking a granite clad Rumford wood burning fireplace, offer a magnificent outlook up Otter Lake and across Serenity Bay. The stone tile floor sets off the majestic fireplace that features hand cut and split granite stone. This lovely space will embrace winter visitors who want to relax in front of the fire while the snow gently drifts down outside, just as much as those cooling down after a day of summer fun. The Great Room also features a centrally located docking station for your iPhone or iPad that allows you to channel your music through the speaker system or use the built-in iPad or Blu-Ray DVD/CD player to control the 55' Samsung Smart TV or listen to an array of Satellite radio stations. The Dining/Kitchen area, within the Great Room, comfortably seats 10 at the extra-large harvest table and 4 at the kitchen island with direct access to the large outdoor Lake Terrace. The Lakeside Terrace is well appointed with teak chaise loungers alongside complimentary chairs and features a large direct connect gas BBQ, no need to worry about the propane supply! What a great place to relax with a morning coffee or that after dinner drink. With its prominent location adjacent to the Dining Room, the oversized sliding doors equipped with screens create a seamless indoor/outdoor environment for family and friend gatherings. For that late evening bonfire, the Lakeside Terrace also features a natural Rumford fireplace that backs onto the indoor Rumford. The 10' wide and 27' high overhanging roof protects the terrace from light showers. Or go down to the point and the dock where a fire pit sits atop a piece of the Canadian Shield. The Chef's kitchen is designed with the professional cook in mind and features a 12' Brazilian granite slab island so all can enjoy getting involved or sit and watch the "chef" at work. The kitchen has been designed to accommodate a gas cooktop, microwave/convection oven combo unit, dishwasher, wine and beverage cooler along with a wide range of top name small appliances. Just off to the side of the Great Room is a comfortable Muskoka Room, perfect for playing games, watching TV or curling up with a good book. The oversized screened patio doors allow this room useful access to the outdoors in both summer and winter. Continuing on down the hall in the West Wing there are two large bedrooms, each with a spectacular view of the lake and highlights a queen size bed and bunk beds in each room? Also in the West Wing is a 4-piece Bathroom with a vessel sink on a marble vanity. The Loft overlooks the Great Room with a ping-pong table, yoga mats, weights for light exercise, a lovely view of the lake on one side and features a 20' high dormer window with a gorgeous view of the forest beyond on the other side. On this same level, also overlooking the Great Room, is a fourth Bedroom with a king size bed and Ensuite Bathroom with an oversized walk-in shower with rain head, massaging jets and sliding glass door. Back on the main level just off of the entrance making it central to the entire house is a fully equipped Laundry Room complete with washer, dryer, utility sink and ironing board. The Master Bedroom is on the main floor in the East Wing and features a king size bed, Scandinavian high-efficiency wood burning stove, a large walk-in closet area and a spectacular Ensuite Bathroom with trough style wash basin, oversized walk-in shower with rain head and massaging jets. This very private side of the home provides spectacular views across the bay and down into the wetlands, even from the washroom and shower, again, meters from the water's edge where wildlife abounds. This stunning property is accessible and enjoyable year round, so by all means take advantage of the warmer weather, an autumn blast of colour or a winter wonderland. "Serenity" provides enjoyment all year round with something special throughout each season. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire property with the exception of the garage. Two canoes and kayak are available c/w an assortment of PFD's, paddles and noodles. Interaction with GuestsGuests will have limited interaction with the Owner; at check-in and check-out. The time spent at Serenity is intended to be private and serene. Plenty of activities and festivals occur in the Town if more active and social events are of interest. The NeighborhoodWhat do we love about 'Serenity'? The solitude and tranquility. One only has to set foot on the property and you feel the stress drain from your body. 'Serenity' is very grounding. Getting AroundThe Town of Huntsville is only a 10 minute drive and boasts fine dining, theatre, cinema, pubs, top name grocery stores and food boutiques, gift and clothing shops, typical of a town catering to vacationers. Within a 30 minute drive are world reknown golf courses, skiing and boating opportunities. The property is accessible by automobile, however, this is Canada and four wheel drive and snow tires are recommended in the winter. Taxis from town are available as are car and truck rental agencies. Other Things to NoteAll linens are provided as part of the service. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is permited in designated areas only outside. HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) is extra.

In search of privacy, stunning views, beautiful natural waterfront and outstanding accommodation? This impressive architect owned and designed cottage delivers. Watch heron fly into the wetlands or otter swim by. Relax ... you have found "Serenity". On Otter Lake, we frown on the noise and pollution from boat motors so only canoes, kayaks, sail boats and paddle boats can be seen albeit infrequently. Guests have access to the entire property with the exception of the garage. Mountain bikes and water craft are available c/w an assortment of PFD's and paddles. Guests will not have any interaction with the Owner. The time spent at Serenity is intended to be private and serene. Plenty of activities and festivals occur in the Town if more active and social events are of interest. The Town of Huntsville is only a 10 minute drive and boasts fine dining, theatre, cinema, pubs, top name grocery stores and food boutiques, gift and clothing shops, typical of a town catering to vacationers. Within a 30 minute drive are world reknown golf courses, skiing and boating opportunities. The property is accessible by automobile, however, this is Canada and four wheel drive and snow tires are recommended in the winter. Taxis from town are available as are car and truck rental agencies. What do we love about 'Serenity'? The solitude and tranquility. One only has to set foot on the property and you feel the stress drain from your body. 'Serenity' is very grounding.
