The SpaceJust minutes by car from downtown Kingston and Queen's U, this executive townhome community is nestled along the shore of the Cataraqui River with city owned waterfront park. An ideal base for professionals or families of students at Queen's U. This is a brand new community and its proximity to downtown Kingston and Queen's U make it a great location for professionals and its location on the shores of Great Cataraqui River give it a resort like feel of escaping to a cottage. With three spacious bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, a deck and BBQ, gourmet coffee and fast wi-fi, it truly offers the best of both worlds I reside in Toronto myself and recently purchased this house since my daughter will be studying at Queen's U for the next four years. Although she will be staying on campus, the space offers us a great base to visit her and also to have her come to a place that's like home when we are in Kingston. I hope the space can serve the same use to other families that have their kids at Queen's U or St.Lawrence College. It would also be ideal for visitors to Kingston who wish to make this their base while they explore Thousand Islands, Ottawa and beyond. Each bedroom has its own combination access code. Access to bedrooms will be provided as follows: Bookings with 1-2 guests: Master Bedroom only Bookings with 3-4 guests: Master Bedroom + Queen Bedroom Bookings with 5-6 guests: Access to all three bedrooms All bookings will be for the full house which means that regardless of how many guests in your party, you will have the entire house to yourself and not share with any other guests/bookings. You will also have access to wifi and host's netflix account (already set up on the Smart TV) for you to enjoy during your stay. The host is always available via phone/text or email throughout your stay. We are located at the corner of Montreal Street and John Counter. There's a bus stop just outside the development where you can take the #1 bus which will take you into Downtown Kingston. Guest AccessEach bedroom has its own combination access code. The SpaceThis large brick semi-detached house is a prominent and important building in the heritage district of downtown Kingston. The space consists of a large dining room, living room (with full-sized pull-out sofa bed), fully-stocked kitchen, one bathroom and one bedroom (with Queen-sized bed) which opens onto the backyard deck overlooking the patio and garden. The building was erected no later than 1878, as it appears with occupants in the 1879 street directory of Kingston. It's first known occupants were a jeweller named John Smith and Mrs. Francis Lawson. Reverend George Ferguson bought the property in 1913, and is still listed as a resident in the 1923 directory. Some historically notable features of the building's exterior include the tall stone foundation, 2-storey bay windows and fluted columns flanking each tier featuring Corinthian capitals. Gable ends above the towers' flat roofs feature scrolling brackets which support heavy wood hoods over the windows. A sunburst design is nestled under the apex of each garble's bargeboards. The bargeboards have a series of rectangular and square recessed wood panels. Sunbursts are also found on the tympanums of each of the dormer on the roof of each inner bay. Guest AccessYou will have access to the entire space - backyard, deck, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Nothing will be shared. You will also have access to our laundry machine and all kitchen amenities and are welcome to anything in the fridge. There will be cereal, milk, coffee and tea (and usually other things like yogurt and juice) in the kitchen. Interaction with GuestsWe will greet you and introduce you to the apartment, the neighbourhood and Kingston. After that the apartment is all yours, though we do live upstairs if you need anything! The NeighborhoodThe location is the best part of this home! It offers museums, historic military landmarks, nature, and a vibrant day and night life filled with bars and restaurants. It is also located steps away from Queen's University, Hotel Dieu and Kingston General Hospital and most government institutions. No need for a car - everything is within walking distance! But of course if you do have a car there is a parking space provided. Walk through City Park and along the waterfront to City Hall and Market Square, relax in the garden patio or head downtown and take advantage of patio season in Kingston - great food, sensational bands and an amazing atmosphere! - City Park: only 1 block away and full of green space, old trees, a playground, a kid's waterpark, a baseball diamond, picnic benches, etc., it's the perfect place to walk the dog, throw a frisbee, read a book or visit one of the many weekend events like "Art in the Park". - Waterfront: just 3 blocks away you can sit on a bench and watch the sailboats on Lake Ontario, bike, cycle or walk the Waterfront Trail, or even take a swim, rent a kayak or try sailing for yourself. - Downtown core: with the most restaurants per capita you will be sure to find the perfect spot for lunch, brunch or a romantic dinner. - Market Square: hosts regular farmers markets. - Queen's University: just a 5 minute walk away through City Park is Queen's University, with it's lovely campus and beautiful old limestone buildings. - Main Tourist Attractions: walking trails, reenactments, tours of Sir John A MacDonald's house and haunted walks - Kingston has more than enough tourist attractions to keep you busy and they are all located within minutes (walking) from the apartment. Getting AroundIf you do want to venture beyond this beautiful neighbourhood there is a bus stop right outside the front door! You can catch this to the main bus terminal (or walk - 5 min), which takes you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Kingston or beyond (eg: take ViaRail to Montreal for the weekend). Other Things to NoteWe provide you with guide books, pamphlets, etc. to get to know the area and what there is to do. Please let us know if you will need the 2nd bed (which is a pull out couch) and we will have it setup. Checkin is usually between 3-5pm and checkout is at 2pm (to allow us time to clean). If you need access before or after this please let us know and we will try to arrange it.

The SpaceThis is our creative lovely quiet home in a little neighbourhood in the heart of downtown Kingston, Ontario (5 blocks to the heart of downtown). We live here when you are not renting so prepare to meet our life in art and decor. Our personal belongings are here (its not a hotel room!) but we have made it clean and lovely for you. This is a three story row house with an open concept main floor, fireplace, upper level has your bedroom and bathroom. Decor is turn of the century timbers with wood floors, a working wood stove, exposed brick wall, American Plaster walls. The kitchen is a brand new renovation with all the trimmings made by local artists and reclaimed pine, timbers, heated slate floor with a table-island. There is a lovely Japanese-style ground grade western red cedar backyard deck, a lovely twinkle-lit seating area and a sauna for guests to use. The house can sleep a single person or one couple -- there is a great foam single mattress that can be used for a child in the master bedroom as well. There is one bedroom with a queen sized bed and Essentia 100% Organic memory foam mattress, room for hanging and an empty dresser for your folded clothing. Beautifully renovated bathroom with soaker tub. There is a hand held Roman style shower which is hooked up on a tree trunk (!) to create a stand up shower. I am not a big fan of plastic shower curtains (though there is one) so the set up is best for baths. Of course, it works perfectly for a shower, it's just a little, well, rustic -- i guess that's the cabin part of the story. We are five blocks from the main downtown street in Kingston -- Princess Street -- where you will find all amenities: health food store, many cafes, beautiful outdoor farmer's market, fabulous restaurants, Italian food shop, Good Life Fitness, banks, small movie theatre, larger grocery stores, and the centre of all Kingston Tourism: the Kingston waterfront and the Wolfe Island Ferry. Queen's University Campus is a 15 minute walk from the house. There is public transportation at the corner of our street (half a block away). This little house is quaint, full of original art, books, light, and is walking distance to everything you need! Parking for free in front of the house on the street 24 hours a day (April - December) and privately (December - March). We have a wood-fired sauna in the back yard for use by folks who know how to use woodstoves and saunas. Heating in the house in the winter is by woodstove and heated slate floor in the kitchen. My preference is to rent to people who really understand how to run a woodstove but we also have baseboard heat for those who don't. With the house comes a quiet loveable big outdoor orange tabby cat named Marmalade-- he comes and goes through his cat door to eat and sometimes sleeps but you won't see him much unless you love him -- he does not sleep on beds or on furniture. If anyone has cat allergies, this might not be the home for you to rent. Recently, he has been living pretty steady outside! Guest AccessGuests can use the whole house minus the dressing room and the attic loft bedroom. A light breakfast for your first day of your stay will be left for you - yogurt, granola, cream, coffee, and bread. There are fresh sheet and towels, ironing board and shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash in the shower, hand soap at sinks. The house will be managed by neighbours when i am out of town but i will usually be close enough if you need me (35 kilometres away at my cabin in the woods). Interaction with GuestsThere is a chance that we may not be on site and might be away travelling. There will be a point person to help you if you need. Some weeks we will be staying locally and get help you ourselves. A neighbour will check in and be available for any problems. The NeighborhoodA wonderful small community of close together houses on a relatively quiet downtown street -- the neighbours are all friends and we are a little happy community. You might even get a drop in visitor from a neighbour if you are (un?)lucky! There's a shared backyard space (meaning no fences) so there might be people in view from the kitchen window. Getting AroundPublic transportation is 50 meters from the door and we are 5 city blocks from downtown --walking distance is 10 minutes -- about one kilometre. Other Things to NoteParking for free in front of the house on the street 24 hours a day (April - December) and privately (December - March). There is a cat who comes and goes freely. The house is heated by wood in the winter. There are baseboards if guests do not know how to use a woodstove. We ask that you do not use the woodstove as a "fireplace" as it is a different thing all together.

Just minutes from downtown Kingston and Queen's U, this executive riverside townhome community is nestled along the shore of the Cataraqui River with city owned waterfront park. An ideal base for professionals or families of students at Queen's U. This is a brand new community and its proximity to downtown Kingston and Queen's U make it a great location for professionals and its location on the shores of Great Cataraqui River give it a resort like feel of escaping to a cottage. With three spacious bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, a deck and BBQ, gourmet coffee and fast wi-fi, it truly offers the best of both worlds I reside in Toronto myself and purchased this house only a few weeks ago since my daughter will be studying at Queen's U for the next four years.
