If you feel like it, you can familiarize yourself with medicinal plants (traditional herbalism) et even participate in the gardening work in the sumer and products transformation during the winter. The NeighborhoodThe surroundings are semi-residential and essentialy agricultural. You will find, at only a few minutes by bike, several maple groove and maple shacks (among which the famous Pied-de-cochon), a lavander farm, an ostrich farm, a reptile farm, a honey farm, and 3 vineyards and many orchards all offering guided visits and tastings and various activities in all seasons. The national Oka park and its beach is a 10 minutes car ride, as well as the regional parc Belle-Rivière in the opposite direction, with its skating path in the forest and several nights of fire-light skating. Directly from the backyard of the house, you can go hiking, snowshooing or cross-country skiing in the orchards and a maple groove. Getting AroundBy car, you are at only 35 minutes door-to-door from downtown Montréal and at 20 minutes from the airport. A suburd commuting train brings you downtown Montreal in the same time, and the train stration can be reached with one of the 4 bikes at your disposal.
