The SpaceIt is the first stage of construction of an innovative geodesic dome village, in the middle of a cloud forest jungle, accessible by foot only, a few meters away from a canyon with lush vegetation. The space has been designed to share facilities with the people living in the reserve in order to exchange life experiences. Guest AccessGuests have access to 4km of trails, leading towards the river, the indigenous bamboo bush, a creek with small waterfalls, the old forest and the remains of an old coffee farm. Kitchen, library, terraces can be used by everyone. Breakfast, towels, TV, WiFi, hot water and earth soap are included in the price. You can reserve your meal at a reasonable price. Laundry service too is provided at a low cost. Interaction with GuestsGuests can join any of the activities of conservation and maintenance of the Natural Reserve or construction of the domes. They can also join any of the guided tours explaining how this special kind of jungle functions. The NeighborhoodKasaguadua Natural Reserve is 2.6km (40 minutes walk) away from Salento, a typical small coffee-belt town, famous for the Cocora valley and its wax palms, our national tree. Nearby you can visit three typical coffee farms with tours available in English, the Quindio river, the Santa Rita cascade. In Salento you can enjoy the typical trout, try the typical Colombian countryside pass-time of "Tejo", over a few cold beers, or go for a horseback ride to any of the surrounding areas. Getting AroundSalento can be reached by bus from Armenia (our regional capital) and from Pereira. From the bus-terminal of Armenia, there are buses every 20 minutes from 7am till 8pm and 2 buses per day from Pereira. You can get directly to Kasaguadua by jeep rural service from Armenia (ask for instructions), 5 times a day or hourly on weekends. From Salento, walk towards the cemetery (or take the yellow pedestrian bridge road), exiting town. The road soon becomes a dirt track, sloping down towards the coffee farms. 600m after the sign of Yambolombia (carved in the mountain), you will find our gate on the right hand side. Do call us prior to your arrival at the gate. Other Things to NoteRemember that this is a Lodge within a jungle and not a hostel facility. No smoking, pets or chemical products are allowed. We provide a natural soap friendly with our water treatment system. It has been designed to share experiences and different ways of living rather than to give you only a facility to sleep and eat in. The environment is not suitable for children under the age of 3. Coordinate time of arrival in advance (gates may be closed). Luggage can be transported to the lodge by our personnel. Considering that the distance from town is 2.6km, if you want to use the kitchen facilities you need to think about bringing your supplies.
