The SpaceOrosi is a walking town with very friendly neighbors, you have several options for taking spanish classes: Blue Morpho Spanish School, and OTIAC, only 3 blocks from my house. Many low key tours near by including coffee tours, waterfall tour, Lancaster orchid garden, the Cartago Basilica, horseback riding, or simply walking around the town. My house has WI-FI, a gas cook stove, large frig, costa rican coffee maker, blender, one couch, two comfortable chairs, large double bed, one single bed, and a hammock on the upstairs porch where you have great views of the Turriabla volcano and Parque Tapanti. Due to the mountain climate it never gets cold and never gets hot in Orosi. Always between 57 F- 85F. Even in the height of the rainy season ( Sept- Nov) there normally is still some sun in the morning. My yard has many rainforest plants, fruits trees, and flowers and thus attracts a variety of birds and butterflies. Guest AccessYou can use the whole house and are welcome to eat any fruits that might be ripe. Interaction with GuestsI have a friend Natalie who is managing my property since i am currently in Ohio. She will take the rent, show you how to use the washing machine, and give you the keys and wi-fi password. She speaks perfect English and has lived in Orosi all her life. She also is a private Spanish teacher if you want some lessons when you are there. The NeighborhoodMost people walk everywhere in the neighborhood. It is relatively quiet except some occasional barking dogs and crowing roosters. The neighbors are very friendly especially David and his family who live to the right of the house. They only speak spanish. Trash days are monday and thursdays early. If dogs get into your trash please clean up. Getting AroundYou can walk anywhere to the grocery store- super anitas is the best and a really great produce store 2 blocks up the main street from Super Anitas. Best to buy produce from the fruit and veggie stores but they will not take American monday. Super Anitas will take $20 bills and give you change in colonies. If you want to go out of town the buses come every 30 minutes and go to Cartago via Paraiso, from there you can walk to the San Jose bus stop. Very cheap, less than a dollar best to bring tico change- no american money for bus fares. For tourist infomation go to OTIAC and Toine or Sara can help you out- they speak English, Dutch and Spanish. Other Things to NoteThere can be some barking dog noise but they tend to be quiet at night. Sometimes the people on the left do some cooking on their wood cook stove 2-3 times a day. Be sure to keep the gate locked when you are not home and security lights on the timer if you leave for the night. The house is very safe and in general Orosi is also safe and I have no problem walking alone at night but best to not walk on dark streets or over the walking bridge.

The SpaceThis estate is ideal for large families, girlfriend getaways, company retreats, etc... This is a very spacious estate with lots of privacy. While this listing doesn't allow us a "drop down" option for this, several of the bunk beds are "triples" meaning there are 3 beds instead of 2. The property can accommodate 31 guests on their own beds, making it ideal for large groups, families, girlfriend getaways, etc. The bunk beds are unusual in that they have curtains around them (as in train travel), with shelves, staircases, etc. Small stores are less than a mile, larger grocery stores are located about 15 minutes away in Paraiso, while mega style stores like Walmart are located about 20 minutes away in Cartago, which you pass on the way from the airport to the property. Here is a 2 minute video (URL HIDDEN) Guest AccessThere is TV with a DVD player, and hook up for iPod stereo music. Local Costa Rican art is on display throughout the home and within the gardens. Note the hand carved columns at the gazebo, the benches, the stone carvings, etc. The home is handsomely and solidly built with hardwoods, glass brick, tile, concrete and stucco. The blue exterior paint on the lower portion of the house is one of the famous traditional ways of building a Costa Rican homes. Interaction with GuestsAn onsite groundskeeper will tend to the gardens, while a cook and housekeeper can be affordably hired each day to make your meals and clean house (about $25 per day). Also available if you hire one of our approved guides for $100 a day to drive is a 14 passenger van with large luggage rack on top for $250 per week. We can arrange airport pickup by local staff (email to inquire for prices) and to conduct tours. Ask us questions, we love to help! We have so many more photos and videos to share. The NeighborhoodThis spectacular home is uniquely outfitted on 9 acres with a basketball court, koi pond, edible vegetation (lemons, limes, grapefruits, bananas, coffee, eggplants, green beans, cilantro, peppers, tomatoes, etc), views of beautiful waterfall from the long front porch during the green/rainy season, fully stocked kitchen for cooking and serving, a covered gazebo outdoor kitchen with grill and pizza oven overlooking the valley, fire pit, lots of walking and hiking trails, hammocks, badminton, croquet, Foosball, etc. Getting AroundVirtually all of Costa Rica’s rich treasures are within easy reach and under about 30 miles, from zip lining, canopy tours, rafting, rainforest tours, natural hot springs, waterfalls, to bird watching, hiking trails and star gazing. Even some of the country’s most important archeological sites like Guayabo, or the Ujarras ruins, and the still surviving colonial architecture in 35 minutes away Orosi. Other Things to NoteThe home acquired its name for 3 reasons: the lower blue on its exterior walls, the two blue feathered peacocks living on the property (Fred and Mathilda), and the spectacular Blue Morpho butterflies fluttering into view on any given day. The rate is $110 per night (2 people); $19per night for each additional person. 3 Night Minimum. No unpaid guests or visitors. All guests and visitors are logged at entrance gates to the property.
