The SpaceOur property is unique in that it offers separate, round shaped cabinas in which you will enjoy the privacy and beauty of nature that envelopes the property. The ocean view cabina provides 360° views. You can see all the way to Manuel Antonio, as well as the never ending horizon across the beautiful Pacific ocean. It also provides magnificent views of the immense, dramatic jungle behind the property. Guest AccessThe ocean view cabina offers one king size bed with free wireless internet, a small kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, and private bathroom. The dirt road to the cabinas is well maintained; however, we still recommend a 4x4 vehicle. At times there can be heavy rain in Costa Rica, and the dirt roads can become slick. Interaction with GuestsDuring your stay we can help set you up with many activities that are offered in the surrounding area. There are also horseback rides that leave near the property that will take you to the beach or the grand Nauyaca Waterfalls. Please contact us if you would like any additional information. Getting AroundWe are located 3km up a steep dirt road into the jungle. You will need a vehicle because we are located 6km to Dominical and 10km to Uvita. Other Things to NoteThere are tv's located in each cabina. We do not have cable tv, but we do have a list of movies that you can choose from. If you decide you would like to watch a specific movie, just let us know. We will place it on a USB card, in which you can then plug in to the tv to watch the requested movie.

This is a special place where a series of 1,500 to 3,000 foot jungle mountain ridges meet the ocean, one of the only places and the longest distance that this happens in Central America. It is a section of about 12 miles with Dominical at the center of it all. The highest point of Costa Rica, Cerro Chirripo at 12,530 feet is directly inland only 35 miles as a toucan flies. But it is the ocean and beaches that Dominical is most well-known for and also our central location to several close-by, well-known National Parks. Dominicalito is a small village just 5 minutes south of the main village Dominical. Below are just a small list of things to do in the area. Getting AroundA 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended. The house is 30 minutes from the Quepos airport Other Things to NoteDaily cleaning service is included but can be elected to have only once a week.

Our area is lush and green all year long - even during the dryer months of Jan - April. The mountains come right up to the ocean - so even though our road is 2 kilometres up the mountain, we are only 7 minutes from the nearest beach! There are many activities to fill your days... surfing, snorkelling, swimming in clear waterfall pools, zip lining, horseback riding, ATV tours, kayaking, birdwatching, national park tours, and lots more! Or you can just hang out by the pool, relax, recharge and order a smoothie! A 4x4 vehicle is required. Contact us BEFORE making a car rental reservation! We have an agreement with a trusted agency that gives guests of Tree of Life Cabinas a 10% discount off of posted rates, but only if you book through us. We look forward to meeting you, and helping you create your ideal Costa Rican adventure! Guest AccessGuests enjoy their own cabina that includes almost 500 sq ft of space including their own 160 sq ft covered patio. The pool is available to all guests, and meals are served at the massive harvest table on the porch of the main house. Guests can also roam the 3 acres of gardens, and enjoy mornings watching hummingbirds feed on the natural plantings throughout the property and around each porch. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the main house where meals are served. We are available to you and happy to book your tours, rental car, etc. Please let us know what we can help you with and it will be our pleasure. Also, enjoy our gallery featuring local artists. We are close to many beaches and between the towns of Dominical and Uvita. Getting AroundEither fly into the capital San Jose (Airport code SJO) and drive 3 hours down the Pacific coast or take a regional plane (on NatureAir) from San Jose to Quepos, just 35 minutes north of us. Car rentals are available in both places. We suggest a 4x4 vehicle to get to Tree of Life Cabinas and to enjoy the many adventures on the way. Buses do come from San Jose but take many more hours. If you prefer to be driven will will be happy to arrange a shuttle service at a reasonable cost. Other Things to NoteAll Cabinas are a maximum occupancy of two people. Located in Hatillo mountain 7klm north of Dominical and the road ends at our gate! no passing traffic to disturb your sleep only the birds songs. Main floor dedicated to 2 guest rooms ,each with private bath ,queen bed or 2 twin beds/king-with private entrance and patio with ocean view.Bring your two children or another couple and be the only guests here. Close to many tourist attractions. Room to make art too as owner is artist and chef. Gourmet breakfast included with the room. Optional three course dinners with a tropical twist are available for a fee-and reserved 24 hrs in advance. Flow with the bamboo, hike the mountain or just read from a great library . Guest AccessThe pool , guests patio and grounds. Welcome to screened in upstair verandah for breakfast. Possible eat in dinner upon 24 hr notice. Interaction with GuestsHostess Colette is present to help you with loan of beach chairs etc. and give you directions to unknown beaches. The NeighborhoodClose to so many activities and Manuel Antonio park as well as at least 3 local different beaches within 10 minutes drive . I will tell you where they are and directions, not evident to general public. Getting AroundI strongly suggest you rent a car because the bus system exists down the mountain (not easy to climb back up) and not reliable. Consider that waiting under hot sun is not for everyone... You can rent a car locally as well if you do not want to negotiate the trip from airport to the B&B (less than 3 hours) Provider National and/or Hertz. Other Things to Note***Be sure to arrive before 5pm in daylight. or you'll have a very very hard time finding the place in the (URL HIDDEN) black in the jungle!

The SpaceRustic designer dream. Newer contemporary open living 2 bedroom private house on 15 acres with incredible views of sunset, Dominicalito fishing beach and Manuel Antonio. Bedrooms are glassed in but the living space is open. Wildlife viewing abounds. This 1700 sq. ft. home is perched above the jungle at the top of 2 slopes, so it has an incredible breeze that cools it off about 20 degrees. We have a very flat front and back lawn for easy outside use. On 3 sides there is a protected with plants drop off so you look over the canopy. We are at the top of the foothills 8 minutes drive up from the beach and behind us sits an old growth forested mountain cliff. Adventurous location on the mountain with a gravel road and a drive through a creek that has footbridge in case of emergencies. There are two bedrooms that are glassed in. The upstairs bedroom is very large room with a full bath suite that includes a walk in shower with amazing view. Outside the bedroom is a huge veranda/ yoga platform overlooking the jungle, canopy and ocean. There is a custom built queen bed with 2 single mattresses in case you need them. You can sleep up to 4 people in this bedroom. There is also a downstairs bedroom with a sunset view and a custom queen bed. The downstairs bedroom has a custom queen bed with sliding glass doors leading to the garden. This bedroom has a 1/2 bath indoors. Open air living / dining/ kitchen space with custom modern furniture. Lock down bodega in the kitchen allows for good security in the open downstairs living area. Covered laundry room with a washer (dryer hookup available for long term renters who bring dryers). We air dry our laundry on our lines. Wireless 2gb internet is available with $30 extra charge. One can usually (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Facetime and stream movies. This house has a 10 minute drive up from the coastal highway and Dominicalito beach. 13 minute drive to the market. 14 minute drive to Dominical beach town that has small stores, restaurants, and a bank. Both Dominical and Dominicalito are great surf beaches. South by 15 minutes is Uvita with lots of banks, restaurants, 2 large grocery stores, mechanics, medical daytime clinics, pharmacies, and the gas station. 10 minutes south of Uvita is Ojochal, which has many Europeans and great restaurants. 20 minutes south of Ojochal is Cortez with hospital. 45 minutes north of our house is Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. This house is great for independent and adventurous people who want to get away in a very private abode, have beautiful views and wildlife, yet have the town and ocean 10-15 minutes away in a car. 4wd drive is deeply recommended, especially during the rainy season. Guest AccessThere is wi-fi Interaction with GuestsI manage the house from the States so I try to respond to any questions as soon as possible, which is usually quite quick unless I am out of range with my phone. You will have the phone number of my very friendly part-time Costa Rican caretaker, Marvin, who only speaks Spanish. Either you can call him or I can call him if there is something he can help with. We have a friend, Julie who can has a concierge service for tours, massage, rentals, etc. I will be sending you her info, so if you'd like, you can contact her. I try to help with restaurant suggestions, etc if you need this. Most of our clients are wanting privacy and independence though, and are not excepting hotel like services at the house itself. There are tons of business in the town for Spanish and surf lessons, and to rent surf boards, paddle boards, etc. There are horseback riding waterfall tours, canyoning tours, zipline tours, and much more. The NeighborhoodThe house is located in a very uniquely private end of a mountain road in the jungle. We have a few neighbors on the top of the hill with us, but might not see anyone during your stay. You will have a quick drive up or down from the main town and will have access to restaurants, rental shops, stores, etc Getting AroundPlease allow yourself enough time to arrive during daylight. It is the jungle with no addresses, a dirt road climbing up, and you will be a lot happier finding our house the first time during daylight. (5:30-6:00 is sunset) Even though Dominical is only 2.5-3 hours from San Jose, driving in Costa Rica can be quite tiring. I recommend pulling over for dinner the first night in Dominical before coming up to the house. This way you can become better situated with the kitchen when you wake up on you first beautiful morning. Other Things to NoteYou are in the jungle and in an open house. Sometimes there will be very few insects, sometimes there will be more. They can fly in and out of the house. Sometimes the jungle is quiet and sometimes it is loud. The dry season January - March brings on cicada sounds that can be loud. There are animals in the jungle, but they tend to stay out of our main open living area unless you leave food and garbage out at night. Every day we see toucans and parrots, occasionally the monkeys, and sometimes really interesting animals. Geckos will be in the house, and occasionally a toad might visit. The bedrooms and bathrooms are the only part of the house fully protected by glassed in windows with screens (as pictured).

The SpacePacific oceanfront treehouse/cabin suitable for adventure campers. 2.4 acres of private elevated front row oceanfront rainforest above a top 10 surfing beach. Secured entrance to acreage, covered fantastic wildlife viewing balcony, secure luggage storage, campers kitchen (electric hot plate, minifridge, blender, pots, pans, silverware). The neighborhood entrance is on the Pacific Coast Highway directly across the street from the Roca Verde Restaurant/Hotel/Bar which is 1 km South of Dominical town center. The lot is a steep quarter mile climb up to the left to the gated/locked entrance to the lot. Unless you are fit and willing to walk up, I recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the short but steep climb from the Pacific Coast Highway to the neighborhood and lot entrance. The caretaker Julio only speaks Spanish. He is extremely helpful and can provide a ride to town, deliver fresh seafood, or run errands. Please understand, this rental is best suited for guests who are searching for eco-friendly rather than luxury accommodations. Folding futon/sleepers or hammocks are available. The showers are private, but open-air. With point-of-use water heaters it is best to only turn have on during water flow, so heating element doesn't burn out. Most clients don't use (or need) the water heating element. If you are bringing high heels, blow dryers, or crispy clothes, I can recommend wonderful places nearby. In the treehouse, you really live amongst the monkeys and other jungle creatures while taking in the most incredible ocean view over a top ten surfing beach. Wi-fi service is spotty. There are times it works flawlessly, and others when it does not. Extreme rains take out light poles along the highway, or power outages, or internet outages. Despite best efforts, it is not reliable. If I could give Wi-fi half a checkbox, I would. cIn the past, clients have gone into town to learn it is out there too. As time goes by, I learn that clients vary widely in their expectations of a rainforest jungle treehouse. The "nature" here is unbridled, and (IMO) the experience is closer to "Avatar" than "glamping". I am slowly constructing a world-class wheelchair accessible treehouse elsewhere on the property. As a result, this rental is not suitable for small children who need to be kept from exploring high balconies that haven't had railings installed yet. I have staff that live on the property, while they continue to work on the other treehouse about 100 feet away. They can be extremely helpful regarding removal of a wasp's nest starting to develop, showing how the kitchen or water system works, or arranging for seafood delivery, if you are so inclined. Their presence also provides security for the property and your possessions. As part of the new space I am creating living quarters for a live-in caretaker - this will enhance security and convenience for guests. Guest AccessOwner will not be there. Caretaker speaks Spanish (Julio) and can be there for problems / questions. My place is best suited for travelers who enjoy roughing it a little, comfortable traveling overseas, and are self-reliant. If so, you get incredible privacy with the most amazing views in a truly tropical location. From the treehouse the entrance gate is not visible. As a result, and to assure privacy, I recommend keeping the wrought iron gate to the property closed. From the Pacific Coast Highway, the short climb to the lot is steep. I recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Yes, you can walk it, but it is a workout, especially with gear. Interaction with GuestsI am available by text from the States, and Julio by phone (in Spanish, local). The NeighborhoodOther listings claim to be real close - I know them personally and many are not. Their provided maps can be deceiving. My neighborhood is literally 1 kilometer south of downtown Dominical, and a quarter mile climb up from there. That means the view is beyond compare and it is conveniently close. The neighborhood consists of much nicer homes that rent out for high dollar. Please respect other owners/guests. Getting AroundA 4 wheel drive is desirable for independent travel (unless you plan to hitchhike) - without it, about half the country back roads are off limits. From Dominical, there are regular commercial buses (schedules change and more keep getting added) to all major destinations. Other Things to NoteMore than one client has had car's brakes or radiator overheat - either route from San Jose is steep, so consider giving the vehicle a chance to cool down.

No other rental in the area offers service like this. Share your experiences adventures with the other guests (a maximum of 8 on the property) if you wish, and take advantage of our spacious bamboo covered bar/barbeque rancho area with huge stainless steel gas grill, ice machine, stereo, honor bar, refrigerator, bathroom, full dining facilities, reading library, hammocks, wireless internet, Flat screen satellite television with home theater sound and DVD and MP3 movie library and a movie theater popcorn machine. FREE popcorn every night! There is also a game cabinet with dozens of games. Sit around the pool on custom built teak furniture and take advantage of the use of pool floats, or go the beach with our boogie boards, beach chairs and ice chests; all at no additional charge. Interaction with Guests When staying at Shelter From The Storm, you will enjoy the benefit of our presence; unobtrusive but available. If there is something that you find that you need, we are there to provide it. If there is something that doesn't work just right, we are there to make it right. If you would like to know where to eat, what tours to take (and which ones NOT to take) where to get groceries, medicines, dental care or have your rental car towed out of a mud bog, we are there. We are housekeeping, concierge, maintenance, room service and tour guide. We have combined the privacy and luxury of private residences with the services of the finest hotels in the world. Like "W" Hotels, we have adopted the motto, "Whatever you want; whenever you want it". The NeighborhoodWe are located only 7 km from the very tourist oriented village of Dominical and only ten km from Uvita where you will find supermarkets, pharmacies, medical and dental services (cheap) and any other thing you could possibly need. Within twenty minutes, in Ojochal (rapidly becoming a culinary destination) you will find world class dinning (in the jungle!?) and all around, dozens of local restaurants at every price level. SFTS overlooks the Bay of Coronado where two seasons a year, humpback whales come to breed and calve. In fact, of all eleven spots that whales migrate to do this, la Bahia de Coronado is the only place in the world that northern and southern hemisphere whales "exchange DNA." Watch them breach from our lookout point. Getting AroundAs with the majority of the rental villas in the area, personal transportation is recommended. There are buses but the service is infrequent and unreliable and the taxis are too expensive to rely on.

The SpaceBeautiful open air living with monkeys, birds, and ocean views. Our house has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with a twin bunk bed. There is a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining table, and a lounge area inside the house. The house features a large and private outdoor covered living space with chairs, hammocks, a BBQ, and even a double bed you can sleep on. Fifty feet down the hill you have the infinity edge pool with a solar heated outdoor shower. Guest AccessYou will have access to the house, the pool, and the property's trails. Interaction with GuestsThe caretaker lives a short distance down the road. He is available for assistance and can bring bananas and other ripe fruit in season. The NeighborhoodA low key and relaxing neighborhood when it comes to human interactions. The jungle animals and insects tend to be noisy, and they might just come around to say hello. Getting AroundThe house is located about 2 km up a dirt road from the coastal highway. We recommend that you have your own 4wd vehicle for getting up the road, especially if it is raining. Bus and taxi transportation is available along the highway. Other Things to NoteThe outdoor ocean view shower by the pool will change your life, you won"t want to shower indoors again! The fruits and vegetables are so delicious and easily available. Domincalito beach is at the bottom of the hill, a great spot for learning how to surf. Domincal is a beach town, about 10 minutes driving down the highway. It has many restaurants, supermarkets, shops, and a great beach with intermediate to advanced surf. Dominical is also a great place to rent surfboards, boogie boards, paddle boards, and kayaks. The area also offers jungle activities, our favorite is a zip-line tour at hacienda baru, which includes a neat informative walk through a nature preserve. There are nearby waterfalls and rivers you can visit, including a horseback tour to the Nayaca waterfalls.

The SpaceThis listing is for a 2300 square foot villa which is the entire upstairs of the house. There are 4 bedrooms which all have memory foam beds. 3 bedrooms with queen beds, and 1 has a full and twin. The villa is everything that you see in the photos including swimming pool, patio, bbq grill, kitchen and dining area, living room, 1.5 bathrooms, sitting area, and a massive balcony. There are fans in every room, 10 total. The main bathroom has a giant concrete bathtub and shower that has a jungle view and sometimes you can see toucans, sloths, or monkeys while bathing. The kitchen/dining area is fully furnished with everything you need, from the blender to the utensils. The large balcony is a great place to relax or do yoga (yoga matts included) and has lots of seating and 2 large hammocks. The living room has a 50" tv, satellite, blueray player and the ever important WIFI. Guest AccessThe house sits on 6 acres which is mostly jungle but the area closest to the house is mostly bananas and fruit trees, which you're welcome to when they're ripe. We created this listing to make a more affordable option for small groups where you are renting the villa/top half of the home and paying per guest. Prices are calculated similar to a hotel (seasonal base price between $100 and $200 for 2 people and only $25 for each additional guest). It's a much cheaper option instead of paying a flat rate for the entire 6 bedroom house which is $450 per night. If you have a group that is 10 or more people, you will need to rent the entire home which we have a separate listing for on airbnb. We never rent to 2 different groups at the same time. Interaction with GuestsI can arrange a private shuttle from the airport to the house, rental cars delivered to the house or at the airport, tours/activities, surf lessons, etc etc and I do not need payment to do so. I make the reservation and you pay the business directly the day of. I, the homeowner and host, live at the same property to keep up with the maintenance of the house, pool, and property. I always respect the guest's privacy and usually I do not see them again after I give them the tour. But if you need anything, I am a quick phone call or message away and I am more than happy to help with anything you need. We have quickly become one of the top places to stay in southern Costa Rica not just because of the house, but because we are willing to do anything we can to help our guests and make sure they have a good vacation. Rental cars, shuttles, tours, whatever you need- I can arrange it. The NeighborhoodOur property borders the biological corridor Paso de la Danta so we're regularly visited by lots of wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, toucans, deer, pigs, dantas, aracaris, anteaters, coatis, hummingbirds, iguanas, etc etc. Located in Lagunas de Baru, a private community up in the jungle covered mountains near Dominical with incredible views. Only 5.2 miles (8 km) from the layed back beach town of Dominical but at over 1000 ft elevation so the temperatures are more comfortable and fresh feeling than the beach. Drive 10 minutes north of Dominical and you're at the gorgeous beach Playa Linda, or 10 minutes south for beautiful Playa Hermosa. There are also several waterfalls nearby. We pride ourselves on being eco friendly and carbon neutral. The house is solar powered, but also still tied to the grid so we never run out of electricity. We also have the best potable water in Costa Rica which we receive from a nearby spring, then it goes through the filtering process and it's ready to drink. The majority of the furniture was made locally from sustainably havested bamboo. The house has a very fresh and open feel with 14 foot cathedral ceilings covered in bamboo and large windows everywhere with lots of new screens to keep the bugs out and let in the breeze off of the pacific ocean. We're located at a perfect 1000 feet elevation where the views are incredible and there are virtually no mosquitos even though we're in pure jungle. The biggest bonus to the elevation is that we get visited by much more wildlife, 2nd is that the temperatures aren't as hot as if at sea level. For those warmer days there are 10 fans, both cieling fans and pedestal fans. Getting AroundAs with most places in Costa Rica that aren't on a paved highway, 4x4 is highly recommended. It's possible in a front wheel drive car with good tires and with good ground clearance during the dry season or when the road is in good condition. But really, I only suggest 4x4's because rental companies use poor quality tires that are not all-terrain. Nearby Dominical beach is only 5 miles away (8 km) and has good surfing all year round and tour operators offer every kind of tour you can imagine. Whale watching, horseback riding to waterfalls, ziplining, whitewater rafting, kayaking, etc etc. 17 miles (27 km) from Marino Ballena national park, "the whale's tail beach", which is a great place for free snorkeling or you can pay for whale and dolphin watching tours. 34 miles (54 km) from world famous Manuel Antonio national park which is packed full of multiple species of monkeys and sloths and home to one of Costa Rica's top 5 beaches. 33 miles (53 km) from Chirripó national park which encompasses 125,000 acres and home to the tallest mountains in Central America including the 12530 feet tall Cerro Chirripó. The town of Dominical and the little pueblo of Baru at the entrance to our community has bus stops and a regular and dependable bus system that can take you all over costa rica for a couple dollars. Taxis are also availabe to and from the house.

The SpaceOn a spectacular 2 acre private beach between Uvita and Dominical, the ecological refuge is a single Oceanfront Cabin totally blended into Nature with views all around (max 4 guests). A kitchen equipped with the basics, including refrigerator and stove top Shower is outdoor..the water from a natural spring flowing all year ‘round. Are you ready to unplug? Guest Accessthe property spread over 2 acres beachfront surrounded by jungle and 2 small creeks. the parking is in the open air The Neighborhoodthe Costa Ballena: Uvita and Dominical Located just an hour south of the popular beach town of Manuel Antonio, the Costa Ballena, or Whale Coast, is slowly becoming famous for its pristine beaches and rolling green mountains that teem with wildlife. Dominical A surfer’s escape, Dominical is a laid-back beach town where you can roll out of bed, walk to the beach, and not return until well into the night. With a number of affordable accommodations, eclectic eats, and a busy night life, Dominical attracts backpackers, surfers, and yogis alike. But no matter what you fancy, during the day everyone ends up at the beach. Along a sandy palm-tree lined avenue, dozens of merchants sell souvenirs, and restaurants serve up quick bites alongside cold drinks. Stay for the sunset and you too will fall in love with this small town’s charm. Uvita Marked by a small hub of banks, restaurants, grocery stores, and offices near the main highway, Uvita is a town that offers much more than convenient commerce. Take one of the many dirt roads into the mountains and you will discover hidden homes and neighborhoods neatly tucked into the rainforest. From here, you will have breathtaking views of the famous whale tail, a giant sandbar shaped just like that of a whale fin. On the coastal side, a charming Tico neighborhood named Bahía Ballena abuts some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, and one of the only marine national parks in Costa Rica, Marino Ballena. A stop here will surely give a glimpse into real Tico life and show you why Costa Ricans are some of the happiest people on earth. Getting AroundLocal bus runs by 4 times a day each directions to/from Uvita. Parking is included onsite. Shuttle bus available from San Jose' Airport if needed at additional charge Other Things to NoteActivities National Whale Marine Park One of the only marine parks in the country, Marino Ballena National Park, offers plenty to do for beachgoers. There are several beautiful beaches where you can find your own piece of paradise, all backed by tall palm trees or shrubby beach almonds. Picnicking is commonplace here and you’ll see plenty of families set up with hammocks and grills. The real draw at Marino Ballena though is Punta Uvita, commonly called the whale tail. This naturally occurring sandbar is shaped just like a whale’s tail. At low tide, you can walk its length and explore the rocks and tide pools near the tip. The uneven rocks can be tricky, but the view of the majestic cloud-encased mountains makes it all worthwhile. Whale Watching The Costa Ballena is named for whales and it’s not just because of the tail-shaped sandbar. Several different whale species can be spotted off the coast during certain times of the year, including false killer, Bryde’s, pilot, and humpback whales. Humpbacks are especially common since they use the area’s temperate waters as a seasonal breeding ground and to rear young. There are two separate humpback migrations, each over several months, which ensures that it is whale season almost year-round. Boat tours will get you up close and personal with these gentle giants and usually leave from the beaches of Uvita. Surfing With the biggest waves in the area, Dominical naturally draws the most surfers. But there are some lesser known beaches along the Costa Ballena worth noting as well. Playa Hermosa, just north of Uvita, offers consistent waves for the beginner to intermediate surfer, especially when high swells at Dominical are a little too intimidating. Look for the best break right in front of the new lifeguard stand. For beginners, Uvita’s Playa Colonia is a perfect place to start. Since offshore rock formations tend to ease the swell, this beach inside Marino Ballena National Park offers much more manageable waves for the novice. There are plenty of surf schools in the area if you’re looking to pick up a board. Waterfalls The lush hills of the Costa Ballena are home to many stunning waterfalls but probably the most famous lies just a half hour into the mountains. The Nauyaca waterfalls is one of Costa Rica’s most impressive cascades with two sets of falls measuring a combined 200 feet tall. The lower falls have a large pool where you can swim and jump into the cool water from the rocks. The upper falls have an impressive 140 foot cliff and are the perfect place to picnic. Most people access the Nauyaca by horseback on a tour, but you can also hike to the falls on your own.

The SpaceThis stunning two bedroom, 2.5 baths resort villa with approximately 1,500 square feet of living space, is terraced on the hillside making the perfect home base for all of your adventures. Walk to the beach, hike the jungle or sit and enjoy the stunning view of Costa Rica. A full property management program cares for all the details. The sights and sounds at Canto Del Mar (Song of the Sea) will leave you awestruck. Canto Del Mar is comprised of terraced villas set on the lush hillside, against a backdrop of mountains in every shade of green. Alluring sights and sounds of the ocean are visible from almost any room. The Dominical area, on the Pacific Coast, has always been a favorite destination for both surfers and those visitors seeking an authentic Costa Rican experience. More and more tourists continue to venture this way and constant improvements in infrastructure bring more visitors with each passing year. For an additional fee, we can arrange a driver/tour guide to pick you up at the airport, and get you safely to the villa visiting some attractions along the way, and also remain available for a few days, or your entire stay as concierge tour guide. General Location-Surfing Info: Where the Talamancan mountains reach the sea, the town of Dominical is located 45 kms. south of Quepos, and 36 kms. west of San Isidro de General. There are over 15 waterfalls located between Dominical and Uvita (15kms. south) with breathtaking views of the numerous empty point and beach breaks along the coastal highway. The main break is a beachbreak with a strong rip current at times and a rivermouth separating the village from the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge which expands 4 kilometers to the north. How to get there: How to get there- There are two direct routes. From the San Jose airport - I recommend driving west to the coast and then south through Jaco and Quepos. This route takes only three hours by car because of the new highway connecting San Jose to Caldera. Also, the road from Quepos to Dominical is now paved and so the last leg takes only 35 minutes. Drive slow to watch out for monkey and pizote crossings. The other way to go is better if you are coming from the east or south side of San Jose. Then you would take the three hour 'Cerro del Muerte' or Interamerican Highway route over to San Isidro, make a right at the McDonalds, and then follow the signs west to Dominical, which is another hour from the turn. It is a very scenic drive so try to do it in the morning when there is less cloud cover. From the top of Tinamaste you can see the highest peak in Costa Rica - Mount Chirripo - plus the Pacific coastline. Once you arrive in Dominical, Take a left and drive to the Dominicalito. World Class Sportfishing: The way of the migration of Sail Fish gives us the access to the best fish banks throughout the year for the Southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica. That is the reason why the legend ports of Quepos and Golfito, located in this area, have access to famous areas such as Furuno Bank or Caño Island which is within an hour from the Bay of Dominicalito. Special fishing packages available with tours included. Please inquire for more detail!
