The SpaceOur cute "cabaña morada" is a sweet little building made out of adobe (= earth bricks) nested in the green soothing geography of Vilcabamba's mountains. It comprises of one comfortable bedroom/living area, kitchen, bathroom with hot shower 24hrs, a covered patio surrounded by a blooming garden with wonderful views of the valley of Vilcabamba. Our coffee plantation lies just next to it and fruit trees and bananas plants are everywhere! Located 12 mins drive from the town centre (or a $6 taxi ride) the Cabaña Morada would suit couples, nature lovers, hikers, people who enjoy peace and the joys of country living. Wireless internet is included. Interaction with GuestsWe love getting to know new people and hear their stories but also appreciate that our cabin suit peace seekers who might desire total privacy and isolation so we live it up to our guests if they fancy joining us for a coffee or a walk or just be left alone. The NeighborhoodOur neighbourhood comprises of a couple whom we never see right next door to us, Don Lucho who has cows roaming in the field above us. You might meet him occasionally when he comes here to check on them or pick fruit or coffee, and...that's it. You are more likely to interact with humming birds, frogs and wild rabbits than with people up here. Getting AroundThe walk to town is a very pleasant 1hr walk downhill ( optional steeper trail offers a shortcut halving the distance). The longer route leads you through a neighbourhood populated by Saraguro indigenous community and has a beautiful feel. Other Things to NoteStock up on food on your way up as there aren't any shops up here. We provide you with the basic salt/pepper/sugar and drinking water. (our tap water comes directly from the lakes of the Podocarpus National Park, however we supply a five gallons purified water bottle for those who refuse to drink tap water in South America)

The SpaceMINIMUM STAY 4 NIGHTS, MINIMUM BOOKING 3 ROOMS FOR 6 PEOPLE. PRICE IS PER PERSON PER NIGHT. Originally built in 1957 as the family house for the dairy Hacienda, and renovated in 2005 to be a comfortable yet traditional country house, Yangana will take your breath away. If relaxation is the game, Yangana is the place. When you visit us you’ll have endless options to relax, from doing literally nothing and just taking naps in the hamacas, to learning how to make your own traditional coffee or taking amazing hikes. Our hacienda house is located in a little un-touched town called Yangana, just 20 minutes south from Vilcabamba, in southern Ecuador. The property has more than 200 acres, and we have a bit of everything from little water ponds (4 in total), little natural waterfalls (the highest is around 15 ft high), some livestock (llamas, hogs, etc.), beautiful landscapes and views. The rental includes all home cooked meals, cleaning service, all the house amenities (TV lounge, library, kitchen and restaurant area, 4 mountain bikes, etc.), access to all the property, and it's big enough so you can take all your family or go in a group of friends. We have 8 bedrooms distributed in four villas, with 1 bunk bed and 10 full size beds in total. There is a full bathroom with hot water in each room, an extra full bathroom in the main house and two half bathrooms in the dining area (kitchen, restaurant like area called La Ramada). We have a TV lounge with a wide DVD library and satellite TV, there is a land line on site, but no cell phone coverage. Wi-Fi connection in the main house lounge area. This is the perfect spot if you want to fully relax! What to do in Yangana: Nothing: Do literally nothing, wake up late, lay down in the hamacas, read a book under a tree, relax... SPA: Relax in our newly finished spa, with sauna and steam bath, and on-demand masseuse from Vilcabamba. Take a dip in our cold water pond and jump back in the sauna! Bird-watching and butterflies: Around the property you can find without much trouble several colorful and noisy birds, such as chirocas, lapos, tordos, azulejos, sucacas, hummingbirds, etc. During rainy seasons you can find different species of butterflies as well. Watch the stars: During the summer Yangana has a really clear and bright sky, and given that there is not much artificial light in the town, the nights become the perfect setting for a spectacle of stars and artificial satellites. Hikes: There are a couple light trails inside the property that are perfect for a morning or afternoon walk. You can walk to the tangerine and oranges garden or along the Inca trail and just relax. For the more adventurous we have a beautiful trail that runs along a little creek in the property called Huasupaca, a 2 to 3 hour hike will take you along a couple micro-climates, little waterfalls and beautiful views. Bicycle rides: We have 4 mountain bikes available in Yangana for the bicycle lovers. You can take a small ride in town, or to the Yangana river, or if you are up for it you can ride all the way to Vilcabamba following the old road in a 30 km, 2 to 3 hour ride that will take your breath away. In the road to Vilcabamba you will cross a couple of little towns where time seems to have stopped, several moliendas (sugar cane mills), and amazing rivers and mountains. Board games, movies, reading: There is a small movie and book library, some board games, and satellite TV for those rainy afternoons when you just want to sit by the fireplace and play or relax with your family. Natural cold water springs: We have a couple of beautiful natural spring water features in the property. El Chorro is a must try for all visitors, a cold shower that will reinvigorate your body and secure your return to Yangana. There is also La Cienega and Los Pies Descalzos, three beautiful pool like ponds where you can take a dip and feel the cold water as it makes you strong. Everyday hacienda tasks: You can always help around and learn how to make cheese, roast your own coffee, bake fresh bread or bizcochuelos and more! We try to keep and recreate the traditional ways to make things. Mass: Either you are religious or not, going to Mass on Sundays (8 and 11 AM) it's a good option to experience the people and life of the town of Yangana. Guest AccessAll the amenities from our hacienda are available to guests! Interaction with GuestsMostly we will be present when guests arrive, and we like to make them feel part of our family, but we also know when to give privacy.

The SpaceMagical place, atop a hill overlooking the Podocarpus National Park and Vilcabamba Valley, this is indeed an enchanted mountain with the wind, morning mist, clouds, moon and sun all in harmony. Artist Residence Enchantingwind(ARE) is for the people who just want to immerse into themselves and the nature. It is a great place to meditate, create art or just wonder around mountains, NOT a place for entertainment. You can get to ARE by a taxi or walk. The road comes up to my house. It takes about 30min from town(Vilcabamba) and cost $15. I normally walk from bottom of mountain to my house taking about 1 hr. Guest AccessYou have access the whole cabin you stay and of course, the whole mountain is waiting for you to explore. And guest has access to using Laundry machine but it's $5 per load. Interaction with GuestsI am available to help you with the needs if you have while your stay. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is the mountains and the neighbors are the cows and horse. Getting AroundBy taxi or walk. Other Things to NoteWe don't have the conventional electricity but we have small solar panel for use of internet and a small generator for use of washing machine and charging laptop. But it might not be enough when it's heavily overcasted. So, it is good idea to bring a portable solar panel to charge your own laptop if you have one, especially writer who use computer a lot to write. You are going to wake up when the sun comes up. You are going to bed when the sun goes down. I believe It is great way to harmonize your body and mind with nature.
