He can help you buy minor groceries and fresh fish when needed. The concierge is in charge of maintenance and is available 24-7. The lady in charge of housekeeping and cooking is great preparing local cuisine with plantain and fresh fish. Having said this, Beira Mar is more like a hotel than a house rental given the fact that you DO NOT have to worry for preparing food and cleaning the house but it has all the advantages of a house rental (privacy, big and comfortable spaces, no pressure for schedules of restaurants, check out times, etc). You can prepare a seafood barbecue in the bamboo/hammock place designed for this purpose o just relax and enjoy the breeze from the ocean at the beach with a cold drink. If your kids are between 2 and 9 years old, you can ask the concierge to display a couple of water games in the garden. If you are coming in a romantic trip, sunsets and stars at night will be the perfect framework for your retreat. Backing onto seafront, Beira Mar is situated within the Machalilla National Park, one of the few areas in Ecuador where you can find jungle habitat next to the ocean. From the bedroom one can appreciate a great view of 'Hangman Islet' of the Pacific Ocean to the west and the green tropical hills surrounding the Ayampe basin to the East. Famed for its birdlife, ancient dry forest and pre-historic civilizations, there is no better place to enjoy a sunset than on the beautiful 4km deserted beach in front of Beira Mar. Facing west, the 6pm sun-downer becomes a kind of ritual! Looking out to sea, you will be peering into the very waters where one of the most famous pirate hauls in history took place, when Francis Drake successfully raided the Spanish treasure ship that had left Lima, laden with Inca gold, silver and jewels. There was so much that legends recount of silver buried somewhere on Isla de la Plata. Beira Mar is surrounded by 21,500 square feet of lush, tropical garden situated on 3.2 miles of beach front. The house has three bathrooms, a master bedroom and two additional rooms that accommodate up to 8 people. Just bring your swimsuit, and enjoy you stay. Peaceful and friendly staff members from the local community will take care of you while in Beira Mar and help you feel at home. The SpaceA communal home with a privileged view within the tiny and cozy town of Ayampe, Manabi. Located right in front of the beach break! Our place is your place - a place where you feel at home even in a foreign country. That was the beginning of the idea of building a communal house, where you live together like a shared apartment, but everybody has their own room with their own bathroom and balcony. A house where everybody shows respect, so rules are not really needed. Where people of different nations live together like a big family. At La Casa, we offer travelers a place to stay long term. It might be the consistent waves, the beautiful river, the magical islands in front of the beach, the delicious food, the simple and happy people, or just the fact that in Ayampe you feel a little more real than anywhere else. The studio is situated right behind La Casa. Equipped with a private kitchen, bathroom, small yard and patio. 1 month minimum stay. Guest AccessLarge communal areas, outdoor fire pit, outdoor shower, hammocks, books, etc. The NeighborhoodAyampe sits just off the Route of the Sun, or Ruta del Sol, with the Pacific Ocean on the west and rain-forested mountains on the east. Most of the Ecuador beaches on the southern coast are very dry. Ayampe is in the middle of a micro-climate where the rain forest comes down to the ocean. This gives it a delightful flavor not found anywhere else on the southern Ecuador beach coast. 17 kilometers south of Puerto Lopez and even closer to Machalilla National Park, Ayampe abounds in natural wonders--sea shells, brightly colored rocks and interesting plants. Birds are everywhere, pelicans and cormorants vie for fish in the river and the ocean. Our two distinctive small islands that rise a few miles offshore backdrop a stunning sunset. The two rocky islands are known as La Tortuga and La Iguana. They are well-known for excellent diving and snorkeling among the coral reef. Whale watching starts the end of June/ early July and continues until November. Birds flock to the river, ocean and mangroves, so you’ll see gulls, cormorants, ducks, even flamingos. If you are the more active type, adventure and exploration await you in the hills, in or near the water. There’s something for everyone’s taste and activity level. Some activities include; surfing, surf lessons, river walks, kayaking, bird watching, hiking, spanish lessons, yoga, whale watching (seasonal), biking, national parks, restaurants, Agua Blanca sulphur baths, Isla de Plata, and with a little luck you may see whales performing their acrobatics from the beach or even Venus at sunrise from the balcony of your room!! Getting AroundThe green Manglar Alto public transit bus runs north and south around every 30 minutes on the main coastal highway Ruta del Sol. Taxi's are also available in certain areas, and mototaxi's can be found in nearby towns like Puerto Lopez. There are several fantastic restaurants located within walking distance and include a pizzeria, sea food and cevicherias, greek cuisine, and juice bars. The neighboring town of Ayampe also provides additional options for culinary delights like sushi, Italian cuisine, and vegatarian/vegan dining options. Guests can book tours with locals to explore the beach on horseback, kayak to the Isla de Los Ahorcados, learn to surf, enjoy yoga, or snorkel around the Salango Island. The town of Las Tunas is tranquil and the neighborhood is quiet. Locals are very friendly and welcoming of foreigners visiting their town. Most locals do not speak English so if you don't speak Spanish, a smile goes a long way in establishing good rapport! Getting AroundFrom Las Tunas, guests can commute to local towns via the public bus (the Green ManglarAlto bus) from the main highway. The bus will pick people up anywhere along the road, all you need to do is signal them by waving your hand as they approach. Bus fare ranges depending on your destination but a one way trip will cost anywhere from $0.75 to $3. Local shared taxis are also available from the main highway and are quicker than the bus. Taxis run from Las Tunas to Puerto Lopez and cost $1 per person. Private taxi's can be called to bring you to local destinations as well. These cost a bit more money but can be worth it for the time savings! It is recommended to negotiate and confirm the final fare price before departure. Casa Esperanto is located 4 hours from Guayquil. The infrastructure is good, providing reliable roads from the city to the coast. You can get to Las Tunas via car, bus or private taxi. **Specific arrival directions will be provided to guests upon confirmation of their reservations. We can also help recommend the best form of transportation for your trip to ensure you have a stress-free commute to Las Tunas. The SpaceA beautiful communal home with a privileged view within the tiny and cozy town of Ayampe, Manabi. Guest AccessWell equipped shared kitchen, large communal areas, outdoor fire pit, outdoor shower, hammocks, books, etc... Beira Mar is a comfortable and beautiful house in front of the beach and near almost every cool place in the area (Montañita, Los Frailes, Machalilla National Park, Agua Blanca Archaeological Site, etc). If you are interested in experiencing one of Ecuador's great beaches without the rush, the costs and structure of tours and hotels, come to Beira Mar a beautiful and exotic private beach house available for daily of weekly rentals. The price of the house includes cooking, housekeeping services (not included groceries) and a concierge that will have everything ready at the beach (chairs, beach umbrellas, etc) every day. If you are coming with your family it is cool and fun place to be. The beach with a moribugy or surfboard is great. If you just want to enjoy the waves have fun. The SpaceThe view from the house competes for the best in Ayampe (see pictures as words can not do justice; see in person as pictures can only do so much justice). The house is only one of several nestled in the one block that makes up the Malecon in front of the estuary that opens to the beach. To the south the street dead ends into a quint road with a few restaurant that dead ends into the beach a half block later; and to the North, begins the jungle. When I built this house had the goal in mind that one should be able to enjoy the natural beauty of Ayampe. In doing so, I wanted to keep the rooms open, starting from the view of the ocean & islands from your bed to the the views of the jungle from the windows; and the house equal parts balcony and rooms. This particular room features equal space glass, equal space wood and stone wall. Unlike staying at a hotel or a hostel, I built this house to have two or three guest rooms to rent at a time. This assures you a private and peaceful stay that mirrors the jungle and ocean that surrounds you while also fostering a community of international travelers if you please to engage. Guest AccessThe house devotes equal parts rooms as it does balcony space and garden. When you see the view that the house is open to it becomes obvious why so much space is dedicated to shaded balcony, of which guests are welcome to enjoy. Further, the indoor/outdoor kitchen with amenities (unlimited access to filtered uv, reverse osmosis and 3 carbon filters), Ayampe spring water, blender, juicer, cooking utensils, fridge etc; is respectfully shared. Finally, I have a few dirt bikes, mountain bikes, surfboards, snorkel and scuba gear for rent and 4 wheel drive vehicle for jungle excursions. I also arrange scuba diving trips and field trips to a local chocolate factory and its cacao plantation. Interaction with GuestsI'm happy to share all local knowledge (or none if you desire complete space and privacy). You could be advice on the best trails through the mountain and up the river, where to find a surfboard or surf lessons, a dirt bike, co ordinate dive trips and surf trips (by boat or car), who to go fishing with, the best people to get in contact with for Spanish lessons, what time the buses leave, where to get cold beer and coconuts, or who to speak with if there is any information that I don't know myself. The NeighborhoodThe house is located in a quite, quaint local section of the village of Ayampe. The house is one of the few that make up the one block street; there is a big pasture that opens up to the beach directly to the front of the house, an estuary that borders the north end of the block; houses behind populated by friendly neighbors and a few small restaurants on the other end of the block. Their is a vegetable truck that comes to the house every other day with fresh local produce and dairy. And the neighbor behind the house is a fisherman with a variety of fresh catch whenever the ocean is calm enough to fish. Getting AroundThere are buses that pass in either direction on the panamericana every 30 minuits. Taxi's are cheap and I am happy to call one for you. That being said, there is no need to leave Ayampe; restaurants are cheap, cold beer and coconuts are a stone's throw away; produce trucks come right to the front door. There is a free medical clinic a few blocks away as well. Other Things to NoteIncluded, your room will be cleaned twice a week. You will be provided with a fan, a mosquito net, a towel and soap.

If you speak spanish get to know Ivan, who's family goes back countless generations of Manabi, Ecuador. Birds flock to the river, ocean and mangroves, so you'll see gulls, cormorants, ducks, even flamingos. If you are the more active type, adventure and exploration await you in the hills, in or near the water. There's something for everyone's taste and activity level. Some activities include; surfing, surf lessons, river walks, kayaking, bird watching, hiking, spanish lessons, yoga, whale watching (seasonal), biking, national parks, restaurants, Agua Blanca sulphur baths, Isla de Plata, and with a little luck you may see whales. Getting AroundThe green Manglar Alto public transit bus runs north and south around every 30 minutes on the main coastal highway Ruta del Sol. Taxi's are also available in certain areas, and mototaxi's can be found in nearby towns like Puerto Lopez. Call Marilyn to get numbers for local taxis or have her schedule one for you. We can also arrange an Airport pickup and drop off for $100, 24 hours a day and you will pay this directly to the driver. We have Edu as our personal safe certified taxi driver from Puerto Lopez. It will take him 20 - 45 min to pick you up in Ayampe once called as he is in Puerto Lopez. Other Things to NoteWiFi PASSOWRD: If you get NO hot water, it mostly will have to do with the gas tank being empty, Ivan can have a new tank at the house and hooked up in pronto time. Just ask him or Marilyn about it.
