Newlands Farm is a spacious, brick-built cottage in the village of Riddings near Alfreton. The cottage sleeps seven people in four bedrooms, two of which have en-suite facilities and include two doubles, a twin and a single room. There is also a bathroom, a ground floor cloakroom, a kitchen, a dining room with an open fire and a sitting room. Outside there is off road parking for four cars and a patio area with seating. Newlands Farm is a superb cottage that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Amenities: Gas central heating with underfloor heating on ground floor and open fire. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, Smart TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Enter inside and you will find a large open plan kitchen with a large dining area. Through to the cosy furnished living room you will be delighted with the crackling wood burner and access to the garden. Three thoughtfully decorated bedrooms await you upstairs along with a well appointed bathroom.Just 2½ miles from the town of Ripley in Derbyshire, this lovely cottage is ideal for couples, friends or a family with a group of up to five people wanting to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, which is within reach.The small hamlet of Golden Valley, close to the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, is situated a few miles from Alfreton, and within reach of the Peak District National Park. A mile away is the village of Riddings, which has a larger selection of pubs, as well as shops, supermarkets and a post office can be found in the town of Alfreton. Crich, the home of the National Tramway Museum is 4 miles away, and Matlock, 8 miles away, also offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car that takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family with its show caves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. A little bit further away is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, while other places to discover include the market town of Bakewell, Chatsworth House and park and Haddon Hall, with Carsington Water offering fantastic watersports - not to be missed! Full tea & coffee making facilities can be found in the room and continental breakfast is offered each morning in the kitchen/dining room. Attached to the room is a beautiful en suite bathroom with luxury towels, bath robes and all the essentials such as soap, shampoo etc. Travel cot and high chair available on request at no extra cost. Guest AccessThe garden is free for guests to use whenever they please, with outside chairs and tables available on the patio and deck area. Guests are welcome to enjoy the use of the kitchen/dining area and downstairs WC. Parking available on Rt hand side of the double driveway. Interaction with GuestsWe will try to be available as much as the guests require and will always be contactable by phone. However, we can also be as hands off as necessary giving you your privacy. The NeighborhoodWessington proudly boasts a newly renovated gastropub which offers food and drink, and an excellent traditional fish & chip shop open Thursday - Saturday. The popular tourist town of Matlock is 4 miles away, with attractions such as Heights of Abraham & Gulliver's Kingdom. Wessington is close to many historic stately homes eg. Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall & Wollaton Hall alongside many National Trust properties. MacArthur Glen outlet is a ten minute drive away. There are also a number of garden centres locally with coffee shops. Alfreton and Matlock have a variety of good restaurants and take always. Getting AroundIdeal location for walkers and while there is a local bus service through the area, this only runs once every two hours so it is advised that guests have their own mode of transport when travelling to and from the village.
