Tucked away from the main road yet convenient for shops, restaurants and pubs. Self contained accommodation to be let for a minimum of two nights, ideally for one week. The accommodation consists of a private entrance lobby with washing machine/drier. Stairs lead up to the open plan living room/kitchen. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and the usual electrical equipment, china and flatware. Getting AroundThere are easy bus connections to Winchester and Alton. Alresford is also the terminus for the Watercress steam railway. Winchester is only 8 miles to the west. Southampton 12 miles to the south. The New Forest and south coast both easily accessable. Other Things to NoteThe toilet cistern is a high level Victorian renovated model. There is a knack in flushing! Sharp tug and quick release. Unfortunately there are two flights of stairs and the flat would be problematic for anyone with mobility difficulties. Equally, both these staircases open onto or lead from the living room/kitchen. There are no stair-gates and the flat is therefore not suitable for toddlers or young children.

Lovely 200 year old cottage on the South Downs. Exposed wooden beams. Wooden floors. Two log burning stoves. You'll need to light them if you get cold. Three double beds; two iron and one brass (very high). A lovely garden with a large timber frame undercover area for eating outdoors whilst you look over the fields around you. Fabulous views. Very cosy and snug. Parking. A true sanctuary. The Cycle Sanctuary is located in the South Downs National Park, on top of the South Downs, 100 metres from the South Downs Way long distance footpath and cycleway. It is set in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB). It's a beautiful part of the world. The cottage is in the small village of Beauworth (Pronounced 'Bew-worth') which has just 90 residents. It is the second smallest village in Hampshire with just a church and a 400 year old pub, The Milburys, just 200 metres from the cottage and serving delicious food and beer. When the weather turns cold, the pub has a huge open fire to keep you warm. It also has a cat called Bob, who's clearly eaten too much, a very friendly landlord and a 100 metre (300 feet) deep well. The well is amazing. The cottage is surrounded by open countryside of arable fields, growing mostly wheat and barley. The views from the cottage are fabulous, looking down from the South Downs towards Bramdean House, a beautiful large country house with magnificent gardens run by the National Trust. Further away from the cottage: 7 miles - Bishops Waltham has a beautiful partially ruined palace and gardens 8 miles - the beautiful town of Alresford (Pronounced 'Alls-fud', well known for it's steam trains on the Watercress Line 8 miles - Marwell Zoo 9 miles - the beautiful medieval city of Winchester. In Alresford you'll also find our gorgeous steam railway - the Watercress Line. There are also fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants as well as many independent local shops - notably the lovely independent booksellers Oxley's. The SpaceIt's huge and private. The rural setting makes this a very peaceful and relaxed place to be, with fantastic walks right outside the door. Yet it's only minutes from Alresford where there are shops, banks, doctor and dentist and a wide range for fantastic places to eat or enjoy tea and cakes. Guest AccessA fully equipped kitchen, TV and Wi Fi. Breakfast goods are provided for guests to prepare as they wish. Tea and Coffee is always available. Garage space for bicycles and walking equipment. Secure but not locked. Store at own risk - but it's a VERY safe area. Interaction with GuestsApart fro saying 'hello' we believe guests enjoy privacy. The annexe is joined to our house so we are always on hand, but other than that you are free to come and go as you wish. The NeighborhoodThis village is quintessentially English. It's hugely sought after and popular with walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The larger village of Alresford is 10 mins walk or 2 mins drive away. With some of the finest food, dining and niche shopping in Hampshire. Winchester is just 6 miles away and a 'must see' tourist attraction. Getting AroundBuses are infrequent from Old Alresford but 10 mins walk to Alresford provides plenty of bus services to Winchester, Southampton, Basingstoke and Alton. Other Things to NoteIt's a character house. We have many amenities but not all are state of the art. The central heating is warm but the boiler can be a bit noisy. There is no double glazing but the windows are large and airy. You are staying in a place with character and space, not pristine homogeneity.
