The SpaceOpen, minimal and modern home, close to national parks, major Northern cities and transport links. Also just a few miles from Spen Valley and Calder Valley cycling routes (route 66, 69) and some great walking routes closeby too. Can accomodate up to 5 people (including me!) The NeighborhoodPeaceful, picturesque but also readily connected to nearby cities and amenities.     Welcome to Ravensprings, a gorgeous Victorian Mansion House. Sleeping 16 - 23 in 6, 7 or 8 bedrooms depending on group and budget size. Offering extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation which includes a stunning 34' x 17' beamed and mahogany panelled sitting room and a large dining room seating up to 25 guests which overlooks a park. The Kitchen is well equipped with Granite worktops and a gas and electric cooker etc.. Bedroom 1. Ground floor with shower which is opposite Cloakroom & WC - ideal for the elderly. There is a washing Machine in the Cloakroom also an ironing board and iron. Bedroom 2. Master Bedroom has a fabulous four poster bed and en suite bathroom; which includes a shower and double ended antique bath. Bedroom 3. Family Bedroom with a shower and loo en suite and a pair of trundle beds which can either be used as 1 single or twin or form a double bed. Bedroom 4. Edwardian bedroom with Vanity Unit and travel cot which can be moved to any bedroom. Bedroom 5. The Jacobean Oak Bedroom with a 17th Century French double bed. There is also a large Family Bathroom on this floor with shower, twin sinks and 6' Bath. Bedroom 6. Large Victorian Bedroom with Kingsize bed and single bed. Bedroom 7. We have space for an extra 4 people if you are an extra large group. Ravensprings is ideal for large groups, Celebrations, family gatherings, hen and stag weekends and holidays. Please note I cannot take bookings for school holidays or more than 2 months in advance on this website as they keep my money for months, they also add 8% to my prices, I am advertised on Owners Direct where you can book either directly or online at more reasonable rates. We can also offer smaller group accommodation out of season (please enquire) as we can shut off parts of the House . The unique period features include a huge 34' x 17' beamed sitting room with mahogany panelling from the famous Edwardian Ocean Liner the Mauretania and a large working open fireplace. Located in a very quiet residential road with numerous pubs, bars and restaurants nearby. You can see horses and cows grazing in the meadows from the back of the top floor and an townscape from the front with the start of the Dales in the distance. Near both the Yorkshire Moors and the North Derbyshire Dales this is an excellent base offering comfort for walkers and groups who enjoy outdoor pursuits but hanker for the comforts of home. Nearby is also horse-riding and golf, paintballing, petting farms and numerous other activities. Leeds is only 20 - 30 mins away with its many shops, bars and restaurants, nightclubs and tourist attractions. There are numerous days out for sightseers, such as the historical City of York with it's Minster, markets and many places of interest. Harewood House is just one of the many National Trust properties in the area. Home of the Brontes' : Haworth Parsonage and quaint high street is a must see too.         The SpaceThe space includes a lounge with tv and dvd player (with a large selection of films), dining area, chairs and sofa and patio doors leading to an outdoor seating area. Guest bedroom 1 contains two single beds and guest bedroom 2 has one single bed and a conservatory extension with table and chairs. A guest bed to accommodate a fourth person can be set up in the conservatory space if required (see photo 5). Both rooms have lockable doors if required. There is a modern bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen has all main appliances (fridge, freezer, toaster, microwave, small oven with two rings). There are two outdoor garden sitting areas that you are welcome to use. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onwards and the departure time is by 11.am . Access to the lounge, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor areas is available to all guests. Two guests booking together can use both rooms as singles. It is also worth noting that for the mobility-impaired there is no more than one step at a time to be negotiated. Interaction with GuestsAlthough the apartment is Pauline's home, during their stay guests will have the space to themselves with nobody else living on site. When possible, guests will be greeted by the owner Pauline and / or her son Andy. The NeighborhoodThe apartment is situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood, and is only a 5-10 minute walk into the market town of Brighouse where there are restaurants, shops, pubs, two supermarkets ( Sainsbury's and Tesco), an excellent rock-climbing gym and the famous vintage Ritz Ballroom. There is a canal walk from the town centre in either direction. Getting AroundTransport links are excellent. The apartment is conveniently situated to the M62 and M1 motorways and close to the train station with a direct line to London on the Grand Central Line. There are also links to Huddersfield, Leeds, Halifax, Bradford, Hebden Bridge, Wakefield and Manchester. Pick ups from the train station on arrival are possible. It is a 100 yard walk to bus stops going in the direction of Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds. Some of the attractions in the area include: Saltaire, Bronte Country, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Hepworth Gallery, Holmfirth, Hebden Bridge and Eureka Children's Museum. The area is also reknowed for walking and cycling.

Guest AccessGuests hire the entire property (excluding the cellars). I can shut off 2 bedrooms which makes the house affordable for 16 - 23 guests. Prices shown are for up to 16 guests in 6 bedrooms Interaction with GuestsOn arrival if the Housekeeper; Caroline Haley has left she will either text or phone to ensure that everything is okay. The house is private and there will be no intrusion. If guests have any queries during their stay, they simply have to phone Caroline or me for assistance. The NeighborhoodRavensprings is delightful, Victorian corner house situtated in a very quiet residential road. Brighouse is a quaint industrial town and Ravensprings is located high up in the Lightcliffe area with panoramic views of the town from the top front and town and countryside views from the rear. There is unique panelling from the grand ocean liner The Mauretania in the spacious sitting room. Diagonally opposite is Ravensprings Park, a model railway (with working train) this was donated to Ravensprings Model Railway Club by a previous owner who was a great enthusiast. Every 4th weekend the club opens it's doors to visitors and to give children's rides. Getting AroundThe location is ideal for touring get togethers for groups coming from North South, East or West or indeed from abroad. The M62 is just 2 miles from the House this links with the M1 in 12 minutes or the M6 / M56 in 20 minutes. Ravensprings is 30 / 45 mins respectively from Leeds Bradford International Airport or Manchester Airport. Ideal for touring the three counties of Yorkshire, Lancashire or Derbyshire. Brighouse Railway Station (direct line from London) is a mile from the House and there are buses that stop at the end of the road some 300m away. Cabs are cheap and readily available.
