Built for the mayor of Brighouse in 1884, Ravensprings is a Gorgeous Victorian Mansion House. Offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for 20 guests in 8 individually furnished bedrooms. We have space for an extra 4 people if you are an extra large group. Ravensprings is ideal for large groups, Celebrations, family gatherings, hen and stag weekends and holidays.
Please note I cannot take bookings for school holidays or more than 2 months in advance on this website as they keep my money for months, they also add 8% to my prices, I am advertised on Owners Direct where you can book either directly or online at more reasonable rates.
We can also offer smaller group accommodation out of season (please enquire) as we can shut off parts of the House .
The unique period features include a huge 34' x 17' beamed sitting room with mahogany panelling from the famous Edwardian Ocean Liner the Mauretania and a large working open fireplace. The elegant dining room seats up to 25 guests has a hatch to the Edwardian Kitchen, and overlooks Ravensprings Park. Ravensprings is a hidden gem and often used by local people for wedding group accommodation.
Enjoying a quiet yet central location the House is ideal for large groups and family gatherings and celebrations, holidays and touring. There are numerous local sports and activities as well as restaurants, galleries, gardens and places of interest to visit. Unlimited wifi is included in the price as well as Sky Films and Sports. Enjoying a delightful, sunny aspect with off road parking for up to 5 vehicles and plenty of on-road parking as well as large private gardens.
Ravensprings' central location ensures easy access for touring and visiting numerous places of interest and varied sports and activities. 25 mins to Leeds City Centre 35 minutes to Manchester City Centre which offer numerous galleries, theatres, restaurants, sports venues, clubs and museums. Trips to interesting towns such as Haworth (Bronte country), Holmfirth (top of the Derbyshire Dale), Harrogate, York are all within 50 minutes of the Ravensprings.
Ravensprings has local caterers providing buffets and sit down meals. With many excellent local gastro country pubs with generous Yorkshire portions, the international cuisine on offer is vast.
For children and adults there are numerous centres such as petting farms, Halifax Children's Science Museum, Canal boat trips, Go down a mine, Yorkshire sculpture park, Have tea at the Wrinkly stocking and take a bus trip around Last of the Summer Wine locations. etc, There are many outdoor activity centres offering canoeing, bivouac building, off-roading, paragliding, rock-climbing, paint balling, horse-riding and of course Yorkshire Famously provides big walking country. Visit Manchester Zoo or Excape has the largest indoor snow slope in Europe, bowling, and lots of other indoor activities for both sunny and rainy days. There is so much to do and with 2 international Airports : Manchester and Leeds/Bradford within a 45 min journey it's not a wonder Ravensprings is frequently chosen as a family reunion and get together venue.

Bedroom 1: This is a recent addition by popular request ideal for those who find stairs difficult. Double bed, shower and washhand basin.
Bedroom 2: The Four Poster Bedroom with luxury four poster bed and en suite bathroom with French double ended bath, shower, toilet and wash hand basin. This room can be access from the hall also.
Bedroom 3: Super king size bedroom, that has an ensuite electric shower room, loo and washhand basin and also can be used as a family bedroom as there are a pair of trundle beds.
Bedroom 4: The Jacobean Bedroom with it's antique French Oak bed.
Family Bathroom: with adult and junior wash hand basin, 6' double ended bath, double shower, lavatory and bidet.
Bedroom 5: The Edwardian bedroom, with an Edwardian cast iron double bed and convenient vanity.
Second Floor: Bedroom 6: The Victorian king size bedroom which also can offer an extra bed or two.
Family Bathroom 2: With 150 year old Scottish cast iron bath! wash hand basin, and toilet.
Bedroom 7: Huge family room loved by children has a 6' circular bed, 4 single beds used by athletes participating in the Olympic games and space for an extra bed.
Outside to the rear is a large enclosed garden area with trampoline and swings and good for ball games.

For a such a large Victorian House Ravensprings is surprisingly light and sunny and offers spacious and private accommodation at affordable prices.
Located in a very quiet residential road with numerous pubs, bars and restaurants nearby. You can see horses and cows grazing in the meadows from the back of the top floor and an townscape from the front with the start of the Dales in the distance. Near both the Yorkshire Moors and the North Derbyshire Dales this is an excellent base offering comfort for walkers and groups who enjoy outdoor pursuits but hanker for the comforts of home. Nearby is also horse-riding and golf, paintballing, petting farms and numerous other activities. Leeds is only 20 - 30 mins away with its many shops, bars and restaurants, nightclubs and tourist attractions. There are numerous days out for sightseers, such as the historical City of York with it's Minster, markets and many places of interest. Harewood House is just one of the many National Trust properties in the area. Home of the Brontes' : Haworth Parsonage and quaint high street is a must see too. For children the Eureka science museum at Halifax is just 10mins away too as well as several petting farms in the area. There are barge trips, steam railway trips and so much more to enjoy within a 20min radius of the House.
