The SpaceWe (my daughter and I ) live conveniently just off the Huntingdon Road, in the Castle Area of Cambridge, that leads straight into the centre of town. We are very close to Fitzwilliam College, Murray Edwards College and Churchill College and not far from the river, and town.
Whilst the room is small, it is comfortable with a table, chair and enough storage space under the bed for your suitcase. Hangers are provided, and there is also a chest of drawers for smaller items. Also provided in the room are maps, towels, universal plugs, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer. There is ample free parking on our road, and frequent buses passing near by.
The single room is across the hall from our large shared bathroom, with toilet, bath and power shower, and an additional guest toilet can be found downstairs, under the stairs.
For breakfast there is always a good choice of cereals, plus brown or white toast, yogurt, jam/honey/marmalade, tea / coffee, juice, fruit and croissants on request. Guest AccessGuests have access to WiFi and can also store snacks/drinks/ready meals in the fridge and use the microwave cooker, and cutlery/crockery in the kitchen. Guests are also welcome to prepare food that requires no cooking (salads/sandwiches etc)
You can take breakfast in our dining room, looking out on the garden, and you are welcome to sit in the garden and enjoy good weather.
If you are staying for a few days, you are also very welcome to wash clothes, and dry them.
We are pretty flexible with check in times, but often during the week, after 4pm works well for us. If you are arriving late, or departing early please mention this when booking. Interaction with GuestsWe have hosted many foreign visitors here in Cambridge over a number of years, via another agency. We enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world and hearing about their lives, but we also respect the need for visitor's privacy, quiet time and independence. If you stay with us we will endeavour to make you feel welcome, and ensure you have a very enjoyable, easy stay. The NeighborhoodOurs is a very safe, quiet, well connected neighbourhood, walking distance from the centre. There is ample free parking on our road, and we are a short walk from two supermarkets, (The Coop and Aldi - sadly closed till August for refurbishment) a post office, newsagents and a chemist. You have the choice of two bus routes into town, including buses that go to Addenbrookes Hospital, the centre of town and the train station. Getting AroundYou can walk into the middle of town in 15/20 minutes, cycle the distance in less than 10 minutes or hop on a bus and get there in 5 mins.
If you are driving, we are 5 mins from junction 13 of the M11.
If you wish to borrow our bicycle, please mention this when booking please. Other Things to NoteWe have a sunken 14ft trampoline at the end of our garden which you are welcome to try out! A continental style breakfast (toast/cereal/croissants on request) is available each day - and I will endeavour to accommodate particular dietary requirements.
