The SpaceI have two double bedrooms available which have been newly decorated so lovely, fresh and clean! They are located at one end of the house, so quite private and share a private bathroom. All in a beautiful converted barn on the edge of the New Forest. There is a lounge which would be shared occasionally when family members visit but otherwise would be for your sole use. Downstairs there are french doors onto a sunny garden (when the English sun shines!) which guests are welcome to use. I have wireless internet which is included. I recommend a car for your stay here as public transport is limited, there is a parking space available opposite the house. Several local, lovely English pubs are within a few minutes walk away. Sopley is a quiet, secluded location for you to relax and explore from, perfectly situated, as nearest beach is a only a 10 minute drive ( but there are many to choose from in the area) and the New Forest is a similar distance. I share my house with my son and his partner, so you would be sharing a kitchen with the 3 of us. I will be happy to give advice on the area and things to do, as I have lived here for over 20 years! Guest AccessGuests can share all communal areas. Interaction with GuestsI will gladly give you tips on things to do and see in the area and events happening. There will be too many to choose from!! The NeighborhoodSopley is a beautiful quiet spot yet just 10 minutes drive from the busy towns of Ringwood and Christchurch with their many restaurants, pubs, shops and entertainments. There are many lovely walks on the doorstep, across fields, by a stream and to the several close-by pubs. See if you can spot the local lamas and rheas! For those into cycling the forest offers countless scenic routes, just set the distance to challenge yourself.....but do make sure you allow time for tea and cake, there are so many places to choose from. Getting AroundPublic transport is very infrequent so the accommodation is really only suitable for those with their own transport. Other Things to NoteAlthough there are two bedrooms I tend to rent one room at a time to ensure the bathroom is private. At the moment I have a guest in the first bedroom who stays from Monday to Friday, as they work in the area. So the second bedroom is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, the minimum 3 stay. However if you don't mind sharing the bathroom on the overlapping days your stay can be extended.

There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room biscuits and bottled water. The SpaceMinimum stay TWO nights unless by special arrangement. We have a two-room, private guest suite, ideal for a couple, within our home in one of Britain's most beautiful national parks. In the UK we call this a 'granny annex'; a suite of rooms attached to the family home but with complete independence. THE BEDROOM has an antique Victorian iron-framed double bed which is extremely comfortable. Hanging space is limited to a hat stand. A LIVING ROOM is adjacent to the bedroom with a sofa which converts into a double bed for two further guests. When extended, this restricts the lounge space (see photos) but is easy to fold away. A flat screen TV is on the wall for programmes, CDs/DVDs or gaming; and there is a wood burning stove for those wet, cooler, wintery evenings when you need some coziness. Furnishing is completed with an oval table with tea and coffee making facilities. Free wi-fi throughout. The EN SUITE bathroom off the bedroom is fitted with basin, toilet, shower and heated towel rack. Some toiletries are available if you forget your own. Towels are supplied. CHILDREN: Well behaved children are welcome but please be advised that we do not have a cot or the facilities to cater for the very young. Parents are warned there is an unfenced pond in the garden so young children will need to be supervised. FOOD: There are NO COOKING FACILITIES in the rooms but we include breakfast in the price (with eggs laid daily by our own hens). The Aga cooked breakfast is served at your convenience in a dining room off the family kitchen. We accommodate vegetarians, vegans and those with specific dietary requirements whenever possible. There are three inns (pubs) in the village within easy walking distance - all of which serve food. Or you could cook up something on a portable barbecue (provided) on the patio. We are happy to heat up food in the Aga or microwave by arrangement. The village has a few shops including a small supermarket, newsagents, hairdressers and a chemist. In addition, there are two medical centres and two veterinarian centres. GARDEN ROOM: We have a Scandinavian reindeer lodge in the garden which guests are welcome to use. Guest AccessThe annex has its own private access so you can come and go as you please. You are welcome to use the garden, relax in the reindeer lodge, or visit the chickens in our small wood at the bottom of the garden. Interaction with GuestsWe look forward to meeting new guests and helping them get the best from the area. We are here to help, offer recommendations and share our lifetimes knowledge of the area and its activities. However, we also understand that some people value their privacy and prefer their own company. The NeighborhoodThe New Forest is, in fact, a very old medieval woodland once the favoured hunting ground of England's royalty. Today it is a tourist destination for off-road cyclists, walkers, sailors, historians, naturalists and bird watchers. Ponies, cattle, donkeys and pigs (in season) roam freely. Deer are frequently seen. Nearby Bournemouth provides the sandy beaches, bright lights and night life. The village is a good base for visiting historic southern Britain - Stonehenge, Winchester (once the royal capital of England), Portsmouth, Corfe Castle and the Jurassic Coast, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Both Amanda and Terry are knowledgeable locals who have known the area since childhood. It would be our pleasure to help you have an interesting and enjoyable stay. Getting AroundLOCATION: Our property is 10 mins by car from the sea and close to the large towns of Bournemouth (20 mins), Poole (40 Mins), Southampton (40 mins) and Salisbury (50 mins). It is a very beautiful part of southern England with easy transport links to London (approx 2 hours) by motorway, or by train or coach. Guests arriving by public transport can be collected from local coach and train stations if required. Sadly, the village is ill served by public transport other than taxis. In the summer months, a New Forest bus service tours the area. It permits passengers to get on and off on demand and also carry their bicycles. Other Things to NotePlenty of space for off road parking in the drive.
