Swallows Barn was formerly a cow shippon with loft above for the storage of corn. An 18th century brick built building, it has been sympathetically converted to create a warm, spacious and comfy cottage with two en-suite bedrooms to sleep four persons. Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen / living / dining area with oak beams, underfloor heating and a luxury wood burning stove. A fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher leads to a separate utility room with washer / drier, sink unit and a separate downstairs WC. The living area has a feature fireplace, comfortable seating and a 40" flat screen freeview TV with DVD player. Books, games and information on local attractions are stored within the sideboard. The dining table seats four person albeit it will extend. A generous sized under-stairs cupboard is provided for useful storage space. The oak stairs lead to a small landing to the two en-suite bedrooms. One room has a double bed and the other has a queen size bed / twin beds. Our cottages were a former cow shippon and a workman's cottage which were completely renovated in 2013. The cottages are set on a working sheep and beef farm surrounded by farm land, streams and the River Dane. Farm walks, picnics and fishing are a feature of your stay here - as well as enjoying lambs, calves and wildlife in the farm fields. The Cottages are conveniently located on the A54 Congleton to Buxton road and are only 15 minutes drive away from the pretty market towns of Macclesfield, Congleton and Leek and the spa town of Buxton. It is also conveniently positioned for visits to the Roman City of Chester with its zoo and race course, and vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Beautiful countryside and scenery is all around and for the walker, then Bosley Cloud, Macclesfield Forest, Teggs Nose, the Roaches and Hanging Stone are a must. Sailing, fishing, golfing, horse riding, mountain biking & cycling are all nearby as are historic houses, Jodrell Bank, Alton Towers & more. The Peak District is within reach with the glorious architecture, gardens and Opera House in Buxton together with lots of beautiful countryside and lovely villages to explore. Chatsworth House is approximately one hours drive away which is an absolute 'must see' as the 'Queen of the Peaks'. There are a vast array of National Trust properties in this area and historic houses and beautiful gardens.

Formerly part of the farmhouse, this cottage is thought to have been a farm worker's dwelling in the 18th century. Tastefully converted back into a separate dwelling in 2013, the cottage has the benefit of a large bedroom with a lovely view over farm land towards Bosley Cloud (hill) which is the local landmark. The bed can be either a luxurious queen-sized bed or alternatively twin single beds. The large bathroom has a large shower and a velux window to make it light and airy. The bedroom has new light fittings, wall lights above the bed for reading, bedside cabinets, an inbuilt wardrobe and drawers / feature dressing table. Newly carpeted and with radiators /central heating. The oak stairway leads down to the open lounge / dining area / new fully fitted kitchen. The original brick built fireplace with open fire is the main feature of this warm and cosy room. An oak beamed ceiling, comfortable seating, central heating, new carpet and a 40" freeview television completes the cottage.
