The SpaceBuilt in 1942 as a World War II Lookout and listening post, this simple building which is now our family home, arguably has the best views on the North Norfolk coast and after the war it was used by HM Coastguard until the early 1990's. It is just a ten minute walk along the promenade into the town centre yet set in a secluded wood with private parking. The main room has panoramic sea views on 3 sides with the distinctive orignal bronze windows still in place plus a door leading to a terrace with views west to the pier. This main room contains 2 single beds which convert into a double or when not in use the beds can be used as a seating. As the main room in the house it also contains a dining table with 5 stools and 2 high chairs for sitting at the windows and enjoying the view plus an armchair. The kitchen leads off the main room and has a large oven , 4 halogen hobs, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher, a kettle and a toaster. From here a short flight of stairs leads down to a cosy room containing a single bed which leads through to the shower room with electric shower, WC and heated towel rail. There is also a second door to the outside leading off this room which is uselful when bringing in your luggage. Next to this is the twin bedroom located below the main room. There is a TV and TV points both up and downstairs, free unlimited high speed Wifi and new electric radiators in all rooms. There is direct access through the front garden onto the famous North North coastal path with steps close by leading down to the pristine sandy beach just minutes away. At the back of the property there is a woodland footpath which leads to The Lighthouse and The Royal Cromer Golf Course. It is a mere 5-10 minute walk into the centre of town along the promenade. Cromer is a quintessential British seaside holiday town which boasted many famous visitors in its Victorian heyday when people travelled by train to enjoy the coastal scenery and take restorative dips in the sea whilst breathing in its famously clean air. Many of the historic buildings remain and it has a pier with an active lifeboat station and the Pavilion Theatre. The beautifully renovated sea front has been brought right up to date with the addition of the Glide Surf School & Cedar House Surf Shop and the North Norfolk Lifesaving Club. It is a great place to learn to surf or try stand up paddle boarding ( SUP ) in flatter conditions plus you can watch the more experienced surfers surf the big North Sea swells all year round. Guest AccessGuests have access to most of the property except the utility room and my private bathroom. There is a private terrace facing West plus the front garden with views to the East and a private dining area. Interaction with GuestsI am not always around to meet you as I often have to work away from Cromer but Ben who owns The Glide Surf School (easily found on the promenade) is on hand to deal with emergencies and things that cannot be resolved with me by phone or email. 11 Vista Court is a 1st floor apartment just a few steps from the east beach and less than 5 minutes into town. It is well situated to enjoy all Sheringham and North Norfolk have to offer. There is of course the blue flag beach, the steam train, the Little Theatre, and a variety of shops, tea shops and restaurants. We fell in love with Sheringham because it is such a friendly place. It is like stepping back in time with the steam railway and the fact most of our shopping is still done in the little independent stores. We love the beach in the summer and walking the coast path with the waves crashing the shore. Our apartment offers 2 bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, the second with two 2'6" beds that can be joined to make a kingsize. There is also a travel cot and mattress if needed. The lounge has sofas seating 5 and dining to seat 5. We have a 40" flatscreen tv with a smart blueray player. We have a selection of books, toys, games and DVDs. Enjoy the views of the sea, over the town to the golf course beyond, and the sunsets from the sofa or balcony. A welcome pack is provided as well as duvets and pillows.
