The SpaceIn an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our little Annexe is there for the ramblers, cyclists, nature lovers and the Larmer Tree revelers to unwind and enjoy the neighbouring countryside. Guest AccessGuests have access to the garden and patio area. There is a BBQ should you wish to use it in the fairer months. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house alongside the annexe and happy to answer any queries you may have. We are sociable but realise that not everyone wishes to chat so will take your lead! The NeighborhoodThe village is called Sixpenny Handley and is conveniently situated on the Cranbourne Chase, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby are Springhead, The Larmer Tree Gardens (popular with the Larmer Tree Festival held in July), Melbury Downs, Shaftesbury, the Dorset Steam Festival (held in September) and the Chalke Valley History Festival (held in June). A short drive away is Salisbury, famous for its Cathedral, and the Jurassic Coast. The village itself has a café, butcher, village stores, Pub, Post Office as well as a Doctor’s surgery with pharmacy. The best pubs for foodies in the area are the King John in Tollard Royal and The Museum Inn in Farnham, both being 7 minutes drive away. Getting AroundThere is a bus service which runs between Salisbury, Blandford and Shaftesbury as well as the train station in Salisbury, 25 minutes away. Other Things to NoteOur annexe is homely and should have everything you need but happy to help with any extras if we can. We have a small fridge freezer and a combi oven with 2 rings so you can make simple meals although a banquet would be challenging. Breakfast cereal, bread, eggs, bacon and sausages (from our own butcher) along with fruit juice will be provided upon your arrival for you to self-cater as and when you like. Check in is from 3pm and check out at 1030am, but we are flexible and we have plenty of notice. Use of the washing machine/dryer is £2 per load. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement but please be aware that we have a resident neutered Springer Spaniel called Buckle who takes precedence! If you have a small child/baby and wish to bring a travel cot, you are most welcome. We also have a Zed bed should you require it for a small charge of £5 to cover laundry costs.
