This 5-star rated duplex apartment with its own patio is situated in an old converted Cotswold stone outbuilding in the grounds of the main farmhouse. Set over two floors, it combines cosy character with modern convenience, with a warm and welcoming living/dining area and kitchen downstairs and sunny and spacious ensuite bedroom and separate seating area upstairs.
The living room has a large leather sofa and separate armchair, cushions and snuggly throw, rug and side tables, TV and DVD player (along with a selection of films you can watch during your stay), games, books and jigsaws to while away your days if you don't fancy venturing out.
The fully-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge and small freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, crockery and cutlery and all the cooking utensils you're likely to need while you're here.
The dining area with a wooden table and two chairs has lovely views over your private patio and across to fields.
There's a downstairs second bathroom including bath with power shower over, toilet and hand basin.
Upstairs, the bedroom features a big super king (180x200cm) bed, separate sitting area with fabulous countryside views all the way across to the Malvern Hills, TV and DVD player, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and hairdryer.
The spacious ensuite bathroom has a full size bath with power shower over as well as handbasin, toilet and towel radiator.
Outside, the Byre has its own south west facing patio, including table and chairs and BBQ/firepit (on request), with a view across open fields - in the sun all day when it's shining and enjoying fabulous sunsets on clear evenings.
Free wifi is provided subject to usage conditions.
There's a washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board shared with other guests, as well as onsite parking and secure storage for bikes if required.
We provide bed linen and towels, bathrobes and slippers, plus initial supplies of soap and toilet paper (depending on length of stay, you may need to buy more). There is a welcome pack which usually comprises tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and cloths, and perhaps some fruit or a sweet treat, and we're only across the courtyard if you need to borrow something. If you're not sure whether you need to bring it with you, just ask.
The Byre is part of a group of outbuildings containing 3 holiday properties near the main farmhouse. We are half a mile from the road down a gravel drive and about two miles (including the driveway) from the nearest village by road. Most of the nearby roads have no footpath and are not suitable for walking especially at night. The nearest pub or shop is about 20-30 minutes walk away taking footpaths across the fields. Unless you are a walker or cyclist or want to spend your stay relaxing here in the grounds, you need to have a car or arrange taxis to get around. I'm happy to pick you up from the train station on arrival and drop you back on departure if I'm free. Taxis should be booked well in advance, especially in peak season.
For car drivers, we are fantastically located for all the traditional Cotswold sights with Chipping Campden, Broadway, Snowshill and Hidcote about ten minutes' drive away; Stratford upon Avon, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water about 20 minutes; Burford, Cheltenham and Worcester 30-40 minutes and Gloucester, Oxford and Birmingham (including the National Exhibition Centre) about an hour.
If you are thinking about booking five nights or more, you may find it cheaper to get a price for a week as the weekly price is usually a significant discount to the nightly price and the Airbnb system doesn't reflect this so it can show a higher price to stay for 5 nights than to stay for 7. If you're unsure about the price or availability of your preferred dates, please make an enquiry and I'll come straight back to you with more information.

The NeighborhoodCome here for peace and quiet to get away from it all with countryside walks and bike rides leading straight from your door across some of England's most stunning landscapes. Or use us as a base to explore the local area and further afield for the theatre, eating out, visiting stately homes, shopping, relaxing at the local spa, and whatever else takes you fancy. The only National Trust pub in the country is just down the road in Bretforton. We're perfectly located for Stratford upon Avon and the beautiful Cotswolds including Broadway and Chipping Campden. Convenient for Cheltenham races too. In an hour or less you can be in Worcester, Gloucester, Birmingham, the Malverns, Oxford and many more - that's why it's called the Midlands! Getting AroundThere is a train service from London Paddington to our local station at Honeybourne which is about 3 miles away. The train line services Oxford, Reading, Slough, Worcester, Hereford and all points in between. Once here, you really need a car to get around as there are no shops or pubs within easy walking distance. It is possible to hire a car or you can book a local taxi for trips out or for the day - this should be done well in advance and we can help you with appropriate contacts. Other Things to NoteWe keep a herd of rare breed sheep and are surrounded by working farmland so there's a bit of farm noise at times. Farms can be dangerous so, if you have a child with you, you should ensure you are with them at all times.
With reference to the review mentioning the creaky floor above, that was when the Byre was just downstairs but it's since been extended to two storeys so now there's no room above and no more creaky floor because we changed it while we were doing the conversion :-)
We try to respect our guests' privacy and expect our guests to do likewise as well as treat our home with respect. It's a great place for a quiet weekend or enjoying the best the countryside has to offer, it's not the place to party.
