The SpaceThe Byres is a recently renovated barn conversion in the picturesque Cotswold village of Elmley Castle offering self catering holiday cottage accomodation. The former dairy barn adjoins an 18th century brick Tithe Barn but has it's own gated driveway with ample parking and a private garden. The Byres has been renovated to a very high standard yet care has been taken to retain the original historic character of the building. The Barn is extremely comfortable and has a wealth of exposed timber, oak beams, under-floor heating and conservation double-glazing throughout. Ground floor accommodation: Entrance hall, open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area with oak beamed vaulted ceiling. Double bedroom with 4ft6in bed and en suite bathroom with shower attachment over the bath. Small twin bedroom with 3ft beds and separate shower room. We supply all bed linen, towels and toileteries, plus a welcome bottle of wine on arrival. The village is a quintessentially English with many traditional thatched cottages and a variety of scenic walks leading onto Bredon Hill and surrounding countryside. There is a pub The Queen Elizabeth within walking distance with an open fire, good beer and food. The towns of Broadway and Winchcombe are within 15 minutes. Cheltenham and Stratford-Upon-Avon are also within easy reach. Elmley Castle is 2 and a half hours drive from London, with the nearest train stations being 10 minutes drive at Pershore or Evesham.

The SpaceOverlooking quiet gardens, our peaceful guest bedroom has the use of a small private bathroom with the original (refurbished) roll top bath. Guests are also welcome to use the shower room. Please note the double bed is standard size, 4'6" wide by 6'6" long. Guest AccessOur guests will be welcome to use our dining room & spacious kitchen and take a walk in our private shrub filled garden. Our home is warmed with central heating and in wintry weather we have a open fire in the dining room as well. We are assuming that our guests will generally be out during the day exploring the local amenities and countryside. Interaction with GuestsWe are quite busy, socially, however we hope to be able to interact as much or as little as our guests wish. The NeighborhoodApart from our lovely neighbours, we have the River Avon and a great prize winning park beside it. For night life we have the amazing restored Art Deco private cinema, The Regal, with the latest films, live acts and music. Getting AroundGetting around the area is easiest by car . Particularly to Cheltenham, with the racecourse ( of Gold Cup fame) and it's amazing shopping is only reached by car and of course the Cotswold villages. However, time permitting, we can offer a 5 hour guided tour of the Cotswold villages. Evesham is on the main train line to Oxford (1 hour) and London, Paddington (2 hours ). We can usually meet your train, otherwise it is a leisurely 25 mins walk to our home. There is only one useful return bus service, between Evesham & Stratford upon Avon. Other Things to NoteWe have a dog who loves visitors, but not always other dogs, so would need to discuss any potential canine guests.

The SpaceBeautiful grade 2 listed Georgian property with original Blue Lias flagstone flooring and a stunning exposed wattle and daub wall. Lovely mix of old and new beams and large screen window overlooking your private courtyard. Ideally suited for a romantic break away. The barn, apart from a separate shower room/wc, is all open plan. The bedroom area on the mezzanine floor is limited to space as it is in the eaves of the roof. As you will see from the photos, the bed is very close to the top step and therefore extra care should be taken whilst getting in and out of bed. The apex of the roof is not a million miles away and again care should be taken not to bump your head! There are 2 roof light windows, one of which is a fire escape window and we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the workings in the event of a fire. There are two single beds on the ground floor which also double up as sofas during the day with plenty of cushions for extra comfort. All bed linen and towels are provided. We appreciate your help so that we do not have to wash items unnecessarily - anything that has not been used, i.e. pillows or towels, should be left neatly and quite separately from those used items. The barn is not ideal for small children/toddlers as there are many stairs and areas where little ones may come a cropper! Also being open plan means there is no quiet area as such. We do not have either a cot or high chair or suitable bathing facilities. The kitchen area has a table (seats 4), kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and sink. There is no cooker. The barn has it's own entrance and porch with coat hooks and space for wellies. There is a parking space on the property (under the pergola) and directly outside the barn. Access to the driveway is a little tight but there is a reversing space so that you can leave the property going forward! Being on the corner of the High Street and a residential road means that inevitably you will hear some local traffic. Guest AccessIf there is no one at home to greet you, the key to the barn will have been left for you in a pre-arranged secret place! In the event of any mishap, Sally, Michael or their friend and neighbour, Liz, can be contacted - all contact details are on the website. Any guests needing to use our washing machine/tumble dryer are very welcome - please just ask! Please ask if you wish to stay beyond the printed departure time of 11.00 a.m. If we do not have guests coming in that day, we are happy for you to stay on until later in the day. All very relaxed! Interaction with GuestsSally or a member of her family will be here to greet you and show you around and answer any questions you may have about the accommodation or the village. A welcome larder of breakfast goodies will be waiting for you on arrival. Please let me know if you have any particular likes/dislikes when booking such as full fat milk or whole meal bread..... we like to please. Sally and Michael (and their "twenty something" kids when they are home) live in the house next door so are generally available if needed for any reason. The NeighborhoodBadsey is a very friendly village with good local walks, two village pubs and a well stocked grocery shop. Evesham, only two miles away, has a wide selection of restaurants, shops and a wonderful Art Deco cinema. Badsey is well placed for racing enthusiasts (Cheltenham,Stratford Upon Avon and Worcester) and all things Shakespearen (museums and theatres) also at Stratford. Within a short drive are the idyllic Cotswold villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden. Getting AroundRegular buses into Evesham, and First Great Western trains from Evesham and Honeybourne. Other Things to NoteThe barn rate is subject to a price increase during Cheltenham Gold Cup Week, Christmas and Easter - please enquire. Breakfast things provided on your arrival: Tea Coffee Milk Orange juice Cereal Bread, butter and jam Fresh fruit Yoghurts The double bed on the mezzanine is a low level bed with the apex of the roof a matter of feet away -beware! The barn is NOT ideal for families with small children as there is no separate bedroom - it is all open plan. There are also many stairs/steps and hard floors.

Please note we only accept bookings from people with profiles and DO NOT reply to questions if you don't have an Airbnb profile. The NeighborhoodWe live in a lovely, quiet, family orientated area and would expect our guests to respect this and respect our home. Getting AroundPublic transport is available but is limited around this area, so we would advise guests to have use of their own car in order to get around easily. We can book a taxi for you if needed. Parking is available on the property. There is a train station in Evesham (about 15-20 minute walk from the house) with direct links to London, Oxford, and Worcester. Other Things to NoteEvesham is a small town with the picturesque river Avon running through the centre, with the award winning park next door, perfect for walks. During the Day We are very close to the Cotswolds, with small Cotswold towns of Chipping Campden, where the Cotswold Way Walk starts and Broadway only a 12 minute drive, and only 14 miles from Shakespeare's birth place, Stratford Upon Avon. We are surrounded by stunning countryside and walks, including the Cotswold Way, numerous National Trust venues and small, quaint towns to visit and explore. At Night There is an Art Deco cinema 3minutes walk away where you can enjoy film, theatre, sporting events with a beer, gin and tonic or glass of wine. There are half a dozen great restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Thai, Italian, British. See the map at the bottom. Please note that we now have a 12 month old doggy, called Kemba, who will be around the house. He is a very friendly and well behaved Miniature Schnauzer. He will come say hi, but a simple "down" and he will scuttle off to his bed. Most guests think he is the star attraction and we are sure you will love him too.

The SpaceIF YOU WANT TO STAY 5 NIGHTS OR MORE, GET A QUOTE FOR A WEEK AS IT'S GENERALLY CHEAPER The Dairy at Saintbury Grounds Farm is a great space for two - whether it's a romantic get away for a couple, a chic retreat for friends or an inter-generational time out in the country. It's all on one level, with smooth wooden flooring throughout (tiling in the bathroom) and very spacious which makes it particularly good for guests with limited mobility. Originally the old milking parlour and retaining the original beams and vaulted ceilings, it's now an open plan loft-style barn conversion. One wall is almost entirely glass, making it a light and airy space. The Bedroom area has a super king size (6ft wide) bed which can be made up as a two singles if you'd prefer, wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror, mp3/radio clock with Lightning dock, and hairdryer. There's also a desk for if you need to get some work done while you're here. The Living area has two leather sofas, a large digital TV with Freeview, and a DVD player, as well as a dining table with four chairs. The fully equipped Kitchen includes an oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and fridge with small freezer. The Bathroom has a bath and separate luxury shower with body jets. Outside, the Dairy has its own small patio, including table and chairs, with a view across the courtyard towards the farmhouse. Free wifi is provided subject to usage conditions and the vagaries of living a long way from the exchange. Shared washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. Onsite parking and secure storage for bikes if required. We provide bed linen and towels, plus initial supplies of soap and toilet paper (depending on length of stay, you may need to buy more). There is a welcome pack which usually comprises tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, a sweet treat, salt, pepper, and washing up liquid and cloths, and we are only across the courtyard if you need to borrow something. If you're not sure whether you need to bring it with you, just ask. For a stay of 5 nights or more, its generally cheaper to book for a full week. If you want to do this, please let me know your intended arrival day in your covering message. We offer longer term out of season rentals between November and March - please contact me for a price as this will depend on length of stay. In 2016, Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on a Sunday. We offer a 7 night booking over Christmas and New Year 2016 starting on Wednesday 21st December for Christmas and Wednesday 28th December for New Year. Alternatively we can offer 5 nights with an arrival day of Friday 23rd December 2016 or Friday 30th December 2016, or 3 or 4 nights with an arrival day of Friday 23rd December, Saturday 24th December, Friday 30th December or Saturday 31st December. If you're unsure about the price or availability of your preferred dates, please make an enquiry and I'll come back to you with more information. We have a f*ce b**k page - Saintbury Grounds Holiday Cottages - and our own website Saintburygrounds. Have a look for more pictures and info. There are two other holiday cottages at the same address - a brand new 2 person duplex apartment (the Byre) and a 4 person apartment (the Hayloft). Although they are all individually self contained, they are located in the same building separate to the main house and can be booked together in any combination if required. Please see our other listings and/or contact me if you are interested. Guest AccessEnjoy 30 acres of grounds and the best that nature has to offer. Country walks, bird spotting, eating out, theatre, stately homes or just chilling - you can do it all from here. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the farmhouse just across the courtyard. We'll be there to welcome you and to say goodbye. In between, it's up to you. Got any questions? Want to chat? Something you need? Just pop across and say hello. Want perfect peace and quiet? We'll leave you alone. The choice is yours. The NeighborhoodCome here for peace and quiet to get away from it all with countryside walks and bike rides leading straight from your door across some of England's most stunning landscapes. Or use us as a base to explore the local area and further afield for the theatre, eating out, visiting stately homes, shopping, relaxing at the local Spa, and whatever else takes you fancy. The only National Trust pub in the country is just down the road in Bretforton. We're perfectly located for Stratford upon Avon and the beautiful Cotswolds including Broadway and Chipping Campden. Convenient for Cheltenham races too. In an hour or less you can be in Worcester, Gloucester, Birmingham, the Malverns, Oxford and many more - that's why they call it the Midlands! Getting AroundThere is a train service from London Paddington to our local station at Honeybourne which is about 3 miles away. The train line services Oxford, Reading, Slough, Worcester, Hereford and all points in between. Once here, you really need a car to get around as there are no shops or pubs within easy walking distance. It is possible to hire a local taxi for trips out or for the day - we can help you with appropriate contacts. Other Things to NoteWe keep a herd of rare breed sheep and are surrounded by working farmland so there's a bit of farm noise at times. We try to respect our guests' privacy and expect our guests to do likewise as well as treat our home with respect. It's a great place for a quiet weekend or enjoying the best the countryside has to offer, it's not the place to party. The SpaceIF YOU WANT TO STAY 5 NIGHTS OR MORE, GET A QUOTE FOR A WEEK AS IT'S GENERALLY CHEAPER. This 5-star rated duplex apartment with its own patio is situated in an old converted Cotswold stone outbuilding in the grounds of the main farmhouse. Set over two floors, it combines cosy character with modern convenience, with a warm and welcoming living/dining area and kitchen downstairs and sunny and spacious ensuite bedroom and separate seating area upstairs. The living room has a large leather sofa and separate armchair, cushions and snuggly throw, rug and side tables, TV and DVD player (along with a selection of films you can watch during your stay), games, books and jigsaws to while away your days if you don't fancy venturing out. The fully-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge and small freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, crockery and cutlery and all the cooking utensils you're likely to need while you're here. The dining area with a wooden table and two chairs has lovely views over your private patio and across to fields. There's a downstairs second bathroom including bath with power shower over, toilet and hand basin. Upstairs, the bedroom features a big super king (180x200cm) bed, separate sitting area with fabulous countryside views all the way across to the Malvern Hills, TV and DVD player, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and hairdryer. The spacious ensuite bathroom has a full size bath with power shower over as well as handbasin, toilet and towel radiator. Outside, the Byre has its own south west facing patio, including table and chairs and BBQ/firepit (on request), with a view across open fields - in the sun all day when it's shining and enjoying fabulous sunsets on clear evenings. Free wifi is provided subject to usage conditions. There's a washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board shared with other guests, as well as onsite parking and secure storage for bikes if required. We provide bed linen and towels, bathrobes and slippers, plus initial supplies of soap and toilet paper (depending on length of stay, you may need to buy more). There is a welcome pack which usually comprises tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and cloths, and perhaps some fruit or a sweet treat, and we're only across the courtyard if you need to borrow something. If you're not sure whether you need to bring it with you, just ask. The Byre is part of a group of outbuildings containing 3 holiday properties near the main farmhouse. We are half a mile from the road down a gravel drive and about two miles (including the driveway) from the nearest village by road. Most of the nearby roads have no footpath and are not suitable for walking especially at night. The nearest pub or shop is about 20-30 minutes walk away taking footpaths across the fields. Unless you are a walker or cyclist or want to spend your stay relaxing here in the grounds, you need to have a car or arrange taxis to get around. I'm happy to pick you up from the train station on arrival and drop you back on departure if I'm free. Taxis should be booked well in advance, especially in peak season. For car drivers, we are fantastically located for all the traditional Cotswold sights with Chipping Campden, Broadway, Snowshill and Hidcote about ten minutes' drive away; Stratford upon Avon, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water about 20 minutes; Burford, Cheltenham and Worcester 30-40 minutes and Gloucester, Oxford and Birmingham (including the National Exhibition Centre) about an hour. If you are thinking about booking five nights or more, you may find it cheaper to get a price for a week as the weekly price is usually a significant discount to the nightly price and the Airbnb system doesn't reflect this so it can show a higher price to stay for 5 nights than to stay for 7. If you're unsure about the price or availability of your preferred dates, please make an enquiry and I'll come straight back to you with more information. We are also able to offer longer term out of season rentals between November and March - please contact me for a price as this will depend on length of stay. Farms can be dangerous so, if you have a child with you, you should ensure you are with them at all times. With reference to the review mentioning the creaky floor above, that was when the Byre was just downstairs but it's since been extended to two storeys so now there's no room above and no more creaky floor because we changed it while we were doing the conversion :-) We try to respect our guests' privacy and expect our guests to do likewise as well as treat our home with respect. Although it sleeps 4 people, the Hayloft can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests for eating and relaxing so you can book in combination with the Byre or Dairy or both, allowing everyone to eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep. There's a TV, DVD player, games and books to keep you entertained inside, while outside the private patio has its own bistro table and chairs and barbecue/fire pit, great for eating al fresco in summer and toasting marshmallows in winter. The Dairy was once the old milking parlour, sitting just across the courtyard from the main farm house. Retaining the original beams and vaulted ceilings, it's now an open plan loft-style barn conversion. Some 12m in length, one wall is almost entirely glass, making it a light and airy space. It has a large living/dining space and kitchen as well as bedroom area and well-appointed bathroom. It's perfect for a romantic break or a chic country retreat for two friends. Although it's a two bed property, there are sofas and dining space for up to 4 people, so you can book the Dairy and Byre together for 4 and eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep. The bed has egyptian cotton sheets and a down filled duvet with a memory foam topper and feedback says its very comfy! Eating out is recomended in the local area and advice can be given on the best places to suit your needs, my kitchen can be made avalable for guests staying longer. This is a working, enviromently friendly farm type of household and is not in the middle of an estate or town but within a very small group of houses away from the village, please don't expect a "showhome" type property. The house has an interesting set up regarding 100% self sufficiency on electricty using solar, wind and battery storage. Waste water and sewarage is also delt with on site. Guest AccessI am a live in host and as I work from home as well. I can be quite flexible to welcome you in and show you around the house and advise you on the local area. Interaction with GuestsDepending on your preferences I am usually available for a chat or any information on the local area. I am a very sociable person and you are always welcome to join me in the lounge for a coffee while listening to some music or watching a film in front of the fire or even come on a dog walk with me and Maya. Alternatively just let me know if you would prefer your privacy respected. The NeighborhoodThere are two country pubs within a short walk to the village, along with a shop/post office. The famous "Fleece Inn" at Bretforton is only in the next village. This a great space to stay in and tour the Cotswolds, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stratford on Avon or just to chill. There are some great places to visit close to here including National Trust properties, parks and castles, some great drives through the smaller, less well known areas of The Cotswold villages with some beautiful country sights to see. There is also an amazing refurbished Art Deco cinema close by with comfy seats and tables available to watch the film or stage show. Getting AroundYour own transport is recommended as this is a very rural area, local transport is available but limited. Taxis are always available if required, there are also some great walks in the area if you are feeling energetic. Information is available in the room and there is a wall sized ordnance survey map in my enterance hall to see where you are going. Other Things to NoteBasic breakfast is available to start the day, please help yourself to a range of cereals, tea or coffee and I will try to provide fresh bread whenever possible. You are welcome to use the washing machine in an emergency if you are staying with me for a few days and there is also a laundrette in Evesham if needed. My internet is available but it is not very fast, it's not fiber optic or cable.
