I am usually around in the garden somewhere for any help needed but try to leave guests to enjoy the privacy the Chalet offers. The NeighborhoodTrenwheal is a small hamlet just off the Helston/ Hayle road. Some of us work ,some are retired or semi-retired ,like myself. We all know each other ,look out for each other but try to keep it a peaceful slow place to live. The SpaceBeside Trencrom Hill, tucked in an idyllic sheltered valley is Bracken Cottage. It was built around 1800 for miners and is now a Grade II listed building which has been carefully renovated to keep it's original character with open beams, wooden floors and slate window sills. Outside there is a little stream that runs through the front garden and a natural spring beside the lane. Ideally for couples plus one other adult, the upstairs of the cottage is light and airy, with one good-sized bedroom with a King-size luxurious memory mattress, and artisan fitted wardrobe and drawers. Also upstairs is a mezzanine floor with a single built in bed, which can be used as another sleeping space. The bathroom is the cottage original with Victorian bath, basin and toilet, all with brass fittings. The SpaceThe cabin is tucked away in the beautiful, unspoilt countryside of west Cornwall, between St Ives and Penzance and close to a choice of idyllic beaches. It has a double bed, plus sofabed, tea/coffeemaking facilities, a small fridge for your breakfast supplies and a great shower (hand and bath towels are provided). It's in a quiet hamlet with a great pub opposite, The Engine Inn ((URL HIDDEN) which has a great atmosphere, good food and regular live music. My husband Alan and I have lived in this house for over 20 years and raised our three children here in this lovely spot. We're on a B road which has buses to St Ives and Penzance stopping outside every hour. It's a fabulous place to stay and an ideal base to explore the moors and unspoilt countryside of West Penwith. Now that 2 of our children have left home we have a partially 'empty nest' and as we enjoy meeting new people we look forward to having guests come to stay and discovering the area. We are easy going types who are used to having a housefull! We both work; I am an educational home visitor for young disabled children and I design and make silver and enamelled jewellery. Alan is a plumber and heating engineer. The cabin is opposite our house and you are welcome to use the garden. There is parking available just behind the accommodation. We have an old collie Daisy who barks a lot when people arrive, but is very friendly! Please let us know if dogs bother you! There is a sofabed which could accommodate a child (or two small ones, maybe!) for no extra charge. There are tea and coffee making facilities and continental breakfast (cereal, muffins or bagels with jam and marmalade, juice and yogurt) is provided. On a sunny morning it's lovely to sit outside and enjoy the peace and tranquility.... We look forward very much to meeting you!

The SpaceOur house is tucked away down a quite private road with stunning views out across Hayle and the lovely St. Ives. The house has a front garden and large children friendly private enclosed back garden with swings, and your very own chickens! There is enough off road parking to fit 3 cars easily. Guest AccessWe love Hayle! Our house is tucked away down a quite private road with stunning views out across Hayle and the lovely St. Ives. to walk King George V walk along the Hayle estuary RSPB reserve (look out the front window you can see it from here). At the end of King George’s walk you can either turn right and walk North Quay to the Hayle river mouth and onto the 3 miles of golden sandy beach ending the walk with a well-earned visit to the Godrevy café that serves arguably the best breakfast in Cornwall (waffles – yum!). Alternatively at the end of King George’s walk, turn left go over the bridge and along to Philps, the best pasty shop in Cornwall or for vegetarians try Johnny’s Café for great cooked breakfasts. Finish off with a visit to Mr. B’s ice cream shop. We advise for safety reasons not to swim in Hayle river due to the strong currents and tides instead walk (or drive for a few minutes) on to Godrevy or Gwithian beaches where there are lifeguards on the beaches. Looking out for seals at Godrevy headland. From Hayle train station you can take the stunning short train ride into the picturesque fishing town of St Ives for a perfect mix of beach, shopping and fabulous restaurants and cafes. This is sometimes a better option than driving as parking can be difficult. There are plenty of local attractions to visit from National Trust properties, art galleries, and exciting adventure packed activity centres for kids. There are lots of leaflets in the dresser in the kitchen and often vouchers and discount deals in the local newspaper - The Cornishman. Our children love Heartlands, the free adventure playground in Camborne or drive further for a day at the Eden Project. Need to burn off those pasty and ice cream calories? How about a walk up Trencrom hill for stunning views (look out the front windows – it’s the highest peak on the horizon that you can see) then drive on the coast road towards St Just stopping as you go at Geevor Tin mine or Zennor with its brilliant little museum and Tinners Arms pub, and very old church (look inside for a beautiful mermaid). This area of Cornwall is scattered with stone circles our favorite is Men an Tol and Carn Euny both perfect for picnics.

Borea Barn is part of a small converted farm complex with two other homes and a shared courtyard. While the space is large, sound does travel and we respectfully ask our guests not to disturb the peace. Getting AroundDirections to Borea Barn Coming from the North and travelling down the A30, turn off at the signpost to St. Ives. Pass Wyevale Garden Centre on your right and then go straight over a mini-roundabout. Turn left at the next mini-roundabout (only about 25yards further on). This will be signposted “Holiday Route” to St. Ives/Zennor/Nancledra. Follow this road for about 2 miles until you reach a T-junction with the B3311. Turn left towards Penzance/Nancledra (turning right here would take you into St. Ives). Follow this road up the hill, past an old mine stack on your left, then past the Engine Inn on your right (Penderleath Tea-room on your left) and follow the road down a steep hill into the village of Nancledra. Drive through the village and continue up another steep hill out of the village, driving towards Penzance. When the road levels out you will see the reverse side of a large village sign on the right hand side of the road. Take a very sharp (5 o’clock) turn here into a narrow lane (there is another small sign at the beginning of this lane for “Castle Gates”.) Follow this lane for about 500 metres; it wiggles a little and then passes a cream-coloured bungalow (Myquest) on the right. Immediately after this bungalow, there is an open gateway on the right. If you look carefully you will see that “Borea Farm and Barn” is carved onto the post box on the gatepost. Drive in through the gateway and park in the gravelled parking space on the right. Borea Barn is the first building on the left.Parking for a single guest car is available. For those who do not drive, there are buses to St Ives and Penzance on a daily basis and the bus stop is a short walk (under five minutes) from our front door. We moved to Cornwall as a family in October 2010 with the intention of setting up our own holiday letting business and to have our own Cornish escape from our previous lifestyle. We are Kate and Kevin Thomas and have 3 young boys who love the freedom of the great outdoors. Little Rosewarne is a smallholding of some 9 acres and in the past has had it's own dairy herd. We started to convert the old cattle shed and creamery at the beginning of 2012 and wanted to maintain the character of the building while providing a sustainable future for the farm. Our next project is to convert the old piggery and stables into further accommodation. Work on this has already begun. We keep chickens at Little Rosewarne and currently enjoy eggs from three Copper Marans, two speckled Marans and one Cream Legbar. We also raise Berkshire pigs. These are black haired and famed for their great quality pork.Having spent many years staying in quality holiday accommodation we have figured out what works and what is sometimes missing and it is to this end we hope we can provide that little something extra. If you feel we have forgotten something or there is something we can do to improve your stay then please ask. We believe that 'The Old Dairy' at Little Rosewarne will make the perfect Cornish Holiday Escape. So the only question is....... when will yours be? Please note we are a FRIDAY changeover day. The Old Dairy will be available from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival and we ask that you vacate by 10 a.m. on the day of departure. A deposit of 25% is required to secure a booking (payment is required within 5 days of agreement to secure a booking). Final payment is due 8 weeks before rental starts. If booking falls within this 8 week period, payment in full is required. A refundable security deposit of ÂŁ200 is required and payable at point of final payment. The Old Dairy borders the National Trust's Godolphin House and Estate (as featured in Cornwall with Caroline Quentin on ITV). St. Ives, Penzance, Marazion, Falmouth, The Lizard Peninsula and Helford and Fal Estuaries are all just a short distance away, thus making The Old Dairy a great place to explore the most southerly and westerly parts of Cornwall. For beach lovers Praa Sands is close by, with Kynance Cove, Gwithian Sands, and Carbis Bay a short drive away. With access to both coasts there is always something for everyone from sheltered coves and sandy beaches to fantastic surf. But if the weather is having an off day, there are plenty of fantastic days out. The Eden Project is a must and The National Maritime Museum and Porthcurno Telegraph Museum are highly recommended (ask our 3 boys). Other local attractions include Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Flambards and Paradise Park. There are a number of fantastic gardens (such as Trebah Gardens) and National Trust sites (including Godolphin House and Estate, Trengwainton Garden, Glendurgan Garden, Trelissick Garden, Trerice House and Levant Mine) to explore as well as the Mining Heritage of Cornwall - Little Rosewarne is situated within the Tregonning and Trewavas District World Heritage site. In addition, there are some English Heritage sites nearby (including Pendennis Castle, St. Mawes Castle and the Chysauster Ancient Village). For the more energetic there is easy access to some fantastic coastal walking along the South West Coast paths. Rural walks can be had from your front door - cross the road and explore the National Trusts Godolphin Woods (a blanket of bluebells in early spring) and Godolphin Hill which boasts a fantastic panorama. You can see St. Ives and Gwithian Sands on the North Coast, down into the Lands End Peninsula, with St. Michaels Mount, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole to the south. Further round the spine of the Lizard Peninsula stretches out with the distinctive satellite dishes of Goonhilly piercing the skyline and finally Carn Brea and the Monument to the north. Cycling both on the road and off road is excellent with the Mineral Tramways Trails great for all abilities. There are local bike hire shops in both Porthleven and on the Mineral Tramways. The small fishing village of Porthleven lies 4 miles to the south with a wide choice of pubs, fantastic restaurants, cafes and tea rooms. There is also a good choice of locally produced foods with a fishmongers and deli. There are a number of local pubs which provide a warm welcome, great beer and good food. We would be happy to recommend some. There is fresh produce a plenty in Cornwall - from clotted cream and Roskilly's dairy ice cream, fresh fish and locally reared meat, poultry and vegetables. There are two farm shops within a couple of miles of Godolphin. This is a small sample of places to visit and things to do to help you enjoy your holiday. We are always happy to suggest more – or explore what this part of Cornwall has to offer for yourself.
