The SpaceCentral location, experienced hosts who are very flexible and make every effort to accommodate our guests wishes; from ideas for running routes round the town to lending guests a bike to get around! We love meeting guests and making their experience with us unique and happy! Brilliant location in town centre close to amenities, transport and park! It is a single room in a family. Use of main bathroom, use of kitchen by prior arrangement, and we can arrange to wash clothes for a small charge. Usually several times a day it just depends: we are a lively, busy household-we are happy to chat and help out where we can but equally we're happy for people to feel free to do there own thing! 5 minutes walk from main bus station, 20 minutes from train station, 3 minute walk to town centre. Walking distance to local pub which does food 7 days a week; and town centre where there is the usual range of shops, restaurants and bars. We always try and help our guests as much as we can, for example, by showing a guest the way to their course venue on the first day; helping book travel tickets; helping plan visits to London; and helping them with learning English! Guests have access to dining room and lounge downstairs and on ground floor. Guests can use kitchen for a small fee if arranged prior to their visit. Other bedrooms are off limits. It really depends: I work part-time and have 4 kids so there is usually someone around but we are in and out during the day. We love to chat to our guests but we respect peoples privacy, so its a relaxed house and entirely up to our guests if they want to chat or do their own thing! Its a lovely area of the town, right next to the beautiful Christchurch park, the marina and a 5 minute walk to the town centre. The area is friendly, residential and quiet. Its a very short walk from the town centre, 20 minutes from the train station, the main bus station is a 5 minute walk, and there are numerous bus stops nearby. Our check in and check out times are very flexible: we're not a hotel so just ask and well do our best to accommodate your needs! The SpaceWe are offering one or both double bedrooms on the top floor of our family home. They are comfortable, cosy and stylish rooms, both with pretty views over Ipswich. Each room can sleep up to two adults. We are also very happy to accommodate babies and small children as we have a toddler ourselves and so can provide a high chair and travel cot if needed. Guest AccessGuests will have access to a modest but perfectly functional bathroom which will not be shared with the family. In the bathroom there is a WC, sink, bath and shower, as well as a washing machine which may be used by arrangement. We are very happy for guests to use the kitchen to make hot drinks and to spend time in the garden. Breakfast will be simple but plentiful. We will lay out toast, cereal, fruit and tea and coffee for you to help yourselves to. Interaction with GuestsWe are working parents with a small child and so we are up and out early and work late in to the evening, so we may not always have lots of time to chat! That said, we would love to answer your questions about the area and help you in any way we can. Equally, we will fully understand if you want total privacy and will leave you to relax! The NeighborhoodWe live in a quiet street very close to Ipswich town centre. At the end of our street is Christchurch Park, which is beautiful for a walk or run and also has a wonderful play area for children. It is also home to Christchurch Mansion, which houses some important local art. Our local pub, The Woolpack, is super cosy and serves good food. This is a great place from which to explore the Suffolk countryside and coast and we would be more than happy to give recommendations of places to visit!

The SpaceLattice Lodge is a Gold Award Winning Urban Eco Bed and Breakfast. With 11 all en-suite letting rooms, we're small enough to feel like 'home from home', but big enough to give space to those who prefer to do their own thing. This listing is for a single en-suite room. All rooms have LCD digital TV, iPod docking station with radio alarm, top quality Egyptian Cotton bedding, feather duvets and pillows (synthetic available, please request when booking), and superb locally made pocket sprung mattresses. We offer FREE parking and FREE (superfast) wi-fi. Bring an iPad and your Netflix account and you can stream a movie to your room. We're situated in a pleasant residential area just over 1 mile to the east of Ipswich town centre. We're on a great bus route, so you can easily get into town, and also as far as Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Coast. Being privately owned, we have the local knowledge to make sure that you have the best possible experience, whether it be shopping, theatre and cinema, eating or drinking. Guest AccessOur AirBnB guests will receive the same warm, friendly service as all of our guests. The only difference is that AirBnB bookings won't - as seems to be the normal practice - receive a daily clean of their room by default. You have the option to come down for breakfast if you wish, and you can use our conservatory and guest lounge as well. Interaction with GuestsAs I'm effectively a one man band (with a great support team behind the scenes), I'm most often here when you arrive, and am always on the end of the phone should you need any help. I'm a local man, and know pretty much everything that's happening in the town - or, if you have any specific wishes, I can try and find something that suits you. The NeighborhoodLattice Lodge is situated in a pleasant residential area about a mile to the east of Ipswich town centre. I'd love to offer views of migrating wildebeest and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but you're going to get what I believe the hotel trade calls a 'City View'. ;-) Getting AroundYup, loads of buses go past right outside, both into town, and out as far as the Suffolk Coast. If you ask nicely and I'm not using it, you could even borrow my bike! Other Things to NoteWe're a calm and peaceful guest house, so if that's not you, please look elsewhere. ;-)

The SpaceWe are happy to share our home with like-minded, adventurous people who want something different. The house is large, and unusual, in 1.5 acres of grounds in the heart of rural Suffolk on the River Brett in the village of Monks Eleigh. Notwithstanding that the airbnb system only allows us to show one bedroom there are in fact three available and we can comfortably accommodate six people (for example, three lots of two). The other bedrooms are listed in separate airbnb listings. The price listed is for bed and breakfast. If you would like additional meals these can be provided at an extra charge, as can a picnic if you want to go out for the day. We have a couple of bicycles for rent because Suffolk is a nice place to cycle. Guest AccessShared family breakfast and other meals in our kitchen dining room subject to discussion and requirements; we have a sitting room with wood burning stove and Freeview HD TV; outside deck and garden. Interaction with GuestsThis is our home, so we will be here and you would share it with us. We would do the cooking if you want to eat here. The NeighborhoodBeing in rural Suffolk, you will be out in the countryside a short walk from the centre of the village of Monks Eleigh. There is a local community shop and post office and a gourmet pub called "The Swan". A little further away is the village of Chelsworth, where there is a typical English rural pub called "The Peacock", which sells traditional British real ale, and it has an excellent food menu. Three miles up the road is the medieval village of Lavenham, which has over 300 listed buildings. It was used to film a few of the final scenes at Godrick's Hollow in the last Harry Potter movie. There are some good walks nearby, easy ones for a stroll and some for which you will need your walking boots, particularly if the weather is inclement. One of the nice things about the location is that there is hardly any light pollution and on a clear night you get a fabulous view of the night sky. Getting AroundPublic transport in Suffolk is not brilliant, unfortunately. The nearest train link is Sudbury (change at Marks Tey on trains to Colchester or Ipswich out of London Liverpool Street). Stansted airport is an hour away by car. We are about 30 minutes by car from Colchester, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. If you are stuck for transport and don't want the expense of a taxi, depending on the time of your arrival, we might be able to collect you from Sudbury or Colchester but would have to make a charge to cover the cost of fuel. Other Things to NoteElizabeth runs sewing courses from her sewing room in the house under the name of Spinney Brook Workbox - please do take a look at her social network page (the one beginning with f) and the website for SpinneyBrookWorkbox. If you would like to include a full or half day sewing course during your visit, you would be more than welcome.

The Space'CURSON LODGE THIS EARLY-TUDOR BUILDING IS A RARE SURVIVAL OF A MEDIEVAL INN. THE SURVIVING RANGE ALONG SILENT STREET WAS ALWAYS INTENDED FOR THIS PURPOSE. THE CORNER PROPERTY OF ST NICHOLAS STREET MAY HAVE BEEN USED AS A MERCHANT'S HOUSE AND SHOP. THIS WAS LATER ABSORBED BY THE INN. AN IMPRESSIVE GROUND-FLOOR HALL AND A SUITE OF LODGING CHAMBERS ON THE FIRST FLOOR WERE ACCESSED FROM A GALLERY AT THE BACK. THE BUILDING WAS RESTORED IN 2007 BY THE IPSWICH BUILDING PRESERVATION TRUST' The sign below is older and the legend thereon almost poetic in its phraseology: 'NEAR THIS 15TH CENTURY HOUSE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE WAY STOOD IN 1472 THE HOME OF ROBERT AND JOAN WOLSEY, WHERE THE GREAT CHILD OF HONOUR THOMAS WOLSEY, CARDINAL, ARCHBISHOP, CHANCELLOR, PASSED HIS BOYHOOD. IN HIS POWER AND PRIDE HE RANKED HIMSELF WITH PRINCES AND TROD THE WAYS OF GLORY. IN HIS FALL HE DIED A HUMBLE MAN AT LEICESTER ABBEY ABOUT THE HOUR OF EIGHT ON THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 29TH 1530 AND WAS THERE BURIED AT DEAD OF NIGHT.' Guest AccessI would like two night stays at least The guests will have access to the whole apartment Please let me know if in the second bedroom you would like the beds seperated , or together as a double bed Please note the stairs up to the main bedroom are steep, but as they are medieval would not conform to modern health and safety regulation. Interaction with GuestsIm available by email or phone if necessary Please could you aware keys are only available during the opening times of @25 restaurant unless previously organised with us The NeighborhoodBy day St Nicholas and St Peter's streets are a bustling part of our town centre. Busy with shoppers and passers-by, they are a main thoroughfare to the Waterfront and make up one of the town's smartest and most fashionable areas. At lunchtime businessmen and ladies who lunch fill the restaurants and wine bars. By night, and especially at weekends, this is popular among young barflies keen to see and be seen in one of the trendiest parts of town. Much of the street is historic – known for its half timbered medieval buildings and it is thought that Ipswich's most famous son, Cardinal Wolsey, was born here opposite our building, indeed, it is thought he was planning to retire to this gorgeous building Boutiques, independent shops, bars and restaurants, an art gallery, upmarket delicatessens, beauty salons – these two streets enjoy a huge range of businesses keen to make the most of the passing trade. The SpaceSituated at the end of my garden in a quiet Suffolk village, this recently renovated 'shed' offers a tranquil setting ,which until recently was my daughters bedroom. Now that she has pretty much flown the nest, I have decided to put it to new use as a rather quirky little place to welcome quests into. It is very simply decorated in a palette of soft greys and pink and has a lovely relaxing feel about it. It has a comfortable double bed, cupboard and shelves for clothes storage and a chest of drawers if required. Turkish hammam towels are provided, and there is also access to Wi-fi, which guests are welcome to use. Guest AccessAlthough there are no toilet facilities within the room, quests are most welcome to use the facilities in the house, which include a bath and shower. There is a downstairs cloakroom which is a mere 20 step hike across the garden, and is well lit at night. As long as the weather is good, I will provide an excellent breakfast in the garden,. which can be as simple or as unusual as you like. I have worked as a cook for many years and love to provide interesting food for friends and family. I often prepare a 'Turkish' style breakfast which includes things like olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, avocado, eggs and of course interesting breads and jams, plus a range of teas and ground coffee. It would be useful to let me know of your preferred breakfast choices when making a booking so that I can be sure to have the larder stocked for your arrival! Interaction with GuestsBorn and bred here in Suffolk, I have a pretty good knowledge of the local attractions in the area and will be very happy to share my knowledge in any way I can. There are two pubs in the village which serve reasonable food and locally brewed ales and there are some excellent eateries very close at hand. There is a regular bus service to the larger towns of Sudbury and Ipswich and we are close to Colchester which offers a fast one hour link to London. If you don't have a car and would like to be picked up from either Colchester, Ipswich or Sudbury train station I am very happy to pick you up for a small extra charge. I will be at home during your stay so will be on hand to help with anything. My friends and family tell me that my home has a very warm and welcoming feel about it and I hope you will agree! The NeighborhoodBoxford is a very pretty little village in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, but it is also a properly functional village, with a Butchers shop, a post office, general store and two pubs. It is set in Constable country and there are some stunning medieval villages within a very few miles, such as Lavenham, made famous through the wool industry and Kersey. We are on the South Suffolk cycle route for those interested in cycling and there are plenty of stunning footpath walks right on the doorstep for you to enjoy. Getting AroundThere is a regular bus service to surrounding towns and villages and several mainline train stations to London within easy reach. Other Things to NoteI have off road parking facilities to the rear of my property although I share access with my neighbours, when they are here. However, there is no problem with parking on the street at the front of my house and security is not a problem in this area.

There are lots attractions in the local area, including lovely Pubs & Restaurants, historic towns & villages. Most of the parish is within the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Elizabeth Gosnold Tilney, sister of Jamestown colonist and explorer Bartholomew Gosnold, is buried at All Saints Church, Shelley. Many people who come to Shelley will do so to see Dame Margaret Tylney. Her effigy lies in a window embrasure to the west of the pulpit. She died in 1598, shortly before the Tudor dynasty ended .There is an alcove in the north chancel wall that may have accommodated Dame Margaret, and some shields further east may have come from the same place. Dame Margaret might have resented being shifted out of the chancel, but the Victorian restoration left Shelley with a lovely little village church that is at once beautiful and dignified, and also in reasonable condition. Her sleeping effigy was witness to a quite extraordinary event in the early years of the 21st Century. In 2003, archaeologists working in Jamestown, Virginia discovered the remains of a body which had been buried with obvious ceremony at the James Fort heritage site. There was a theory that it could be the corpse of Captain Bartholomew Gosnold, a Suffolk-born adventurer who led the pioneers that established the first English colony in the New World at Jamestown in 1607. A certain amount of DNA was recovered, and the only way of establishing for certain the identity of the corpse was to find a match from a source known to be of the same family. Gosnold's sister Elizabeth Tilney Gosnold had been buried in the vault of Shelley church, and permission was given for the vault to be opened and a DNA sample obtained.Permission was given because of “the strength of the educational and scientific rationale presented to us by the Jamestown team. The Victorian tiles were removed from the chancel floor, then the 18th Century bricks below them, and then the 17th Century flagstones. A small amount of DNA was obtained from the corpse of Elizabeth, and lo and behold it was a match. A brass plaque on the chancel wall recalls the event and remembers Elizabeth.
