Kate and Christopher's home is hidden away, yet within easy walking distance of the market town of Louth, the capital of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. We have pleasant bedrooms (one double, one single) in a spacious house with rooms to sit and dream. For writers we have a good selection of books, especially poetry, we also have facilities to record your spoken word. Parking is outside our front door with its Albertine Rose. Further plants can be enjoyed throughout the spacious gardens. A picture paints a thousand words they say so we have put a few pictures on this site but if you want more pictures, or words you can request the leaflet which is currently in production. Lincolnshire Wolds are officially classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty, they are also alongside Lincolnshires extensive coastline. Kate and Christopher are happy to enthuse about these places and others you might wish to visit in the locality. There are good restaurants and good pub food places, both in the town and in the country. Kate and Christopher will point you in the right direction and are not averse to sharing an evening out, if that is what takes your fancy. Neither Louth nor Lincolnshire are overflowing with public transport, but if you want assistance either in getting here, or whlist you are here, then both Kate and Christopher can accommodate you.

The SpaceA country cottage where you can relax in comfort, wake up to breakfast with eggs from our hens, stroll the country lanes, walk along the beach or just chill out on the veranda. And there's free wireless internet if you really miss the outside world. Guest AccessShared bathroom with shower. All of the garden to roam. Interaction with GuestsWe're around for a chat or a drink in the evening if you'd like to join us. Peter plays guitar, writes music, is a keen photographer and grows the veg. If you want some tips just ask. I love making jams and preserves and we both like walking. We can show you around if you like? Or you might just want to go your own way? Whatever you like really. Please visit our social media site (you know the one!), 'A cottage hideaway in the country'. The NeighborhoodThe nearby Lincolnshire Wolds is wonderful walking country, there's the cathedral city of Lincoln 45 mins away and historic connections with the Mayflower Pilgrims at Boston. The Georgian market town of Louth 7 miles away is perfect to stroll around and sample the produce supplied by some wonderful independent food shops. It has cosy pubs, specialist retailers, live music venues and has the country's tallest parish church whose spire you can climb to get a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. Lincolnshire is known as Bomber County and has many historic, wartime airfields including the home of The Dambusters at Woodhall Spa. Wide open beaches are only minutes away. You can experience all the fun of the fair or find deserted beaches where the only company is the seagulls or, in November and December, the hundreds of grey seals that gather to give birth to their pups at Donna Nook. Cadwell Park racetrack is about 10 miles away and hosts Superbike Championship rounds as well as track and corporate days. There are some lovely, local walks around the village and the nearest pub is about 30 mins walk away. Other Things to NotePeter is a counsellor and apart from just benefitting from the therapeutic surroundings of our home you can also find more specialist help should you wish. This is entirely optional of course, you may just want a relaxing break away from it all but at least you know that help is there should you need it. As well as the room, we also have a vintage caravan for hire in the garden if you want to be a bit more independent (it's pretty basic it has to be said!)

The SpaceThe Cottage is a quirky and cute period building in the very heart of the bustling market town of Louth, with a great independent Deli over the road and a choice of independent pubs within minutes walk. The Cottage comprises of one double bedroom with views over onto St James Church, the meeting point for the Lincolnshire rising in 1536, and now home to a nesting family of Peregrine Falcons. The cottage is most ideally suited for couples wanting to experience this part of the world in real privacy and a pace that suits them. Two more guest beds can be provided and set out either in the living room or the dining room. These are really only suitable for children. There is also very small courtyard garden with a table and chairs. Guest AccessGuests are free to arrive at the cottage at a time that suits them. Entry to the cottage is via a secure key box giving you full flexibility, and allowing you to arrive a time that suits your needs on the day. Interaction with GuestsI am rarely in Louth when the cottage is unavailable, so you are truly independent to feel relaxed in what I would say is a home from home, within a thriving market town. If you need any kind of advice on local amenities or things to do I am very pleased to help you at any time. The NeighborhoodThe pretty market town of Louth with its Georgian architecture is perfect those wanting to get away to the Lincolnshire Wolds, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is an ideal starting point for walkers and cyclists or for those wanting an excellent base from which to explore the region, indeed many of the local recommended walks in the area use St James Church opposite the cottage as a starting point. The privacy that the cottage affords visitors means it is ideal as a romantic getaway with many local independent pubs and restaurant within a few minutes’ walk, allowing visitors to do away with their cars whilst staying. There are also a good number of local shops selling local produce, other local items, antiques and art. From October through to December Louth is the ideal place to stay for the internationally famous Donna Nook Nature Reserve where the Grey Seals come to have their pups. This is a must for visitors at this time of the year, as is a walk along the stunning coastline at any time of the year. Lincoln’s famous Christmas market and Cleethorpes quaint seaside attractions make it ideal all year round to visit. Getting AroundThe property is on the Bus network, with regular buses to Lincoln and in the other direction Cleethorpes and the excellent coastline. Off street parking is available on Bridge St, but please contact me if you require further details. Other Things to NoteThe Property has a current Landlord's Gas Safety Certificate and is checked annually. In addition to this there is a Carbon Monoxide Alarm and two smoke alarms. Because of the age of this property, the stairs to the first floor are quite steep, so if you think you might have difficulty with these, please contact me with your requirements before booking. For clarification, you can load or unload your car outside the property and the parking enforcement people in the town are pretty accommodating. Free parking is on Cisterngate (see map - it's the first road north of Bridge St) or paid parking is £3 a day on Bridge St itself (or free for 2 hours at a time).

Spireview Cottage holds many fond memories for the owners, especially for Rosalyn who lived here for three years (with Ian as her next door neighbour for the final year) before selling the cottage and moving away in 2006. Rosalyn returned to live in Louth in 2009, and in 2011 Rosalyn and Ian got married! Meanwhile Spireview Cottage had been standing empty for a few years and was starting to look really run down when Rosalyn managed to persuade Ian to buy it back to renovate and turn into a holiday cottage ‌ The holiday cottage is on a quiet, friendly street close to the County Hospital in the lovely 'Georgian' town of Louth. Several nearby properties (including the house next door) are featured on the famous 'Brown's Panorama' 1844 - 1847 (a major work of 19th century provincial art).
