The SpaceWelcome to my home,I have one spacious double room with ensuite ,the shower is downstairs.(Robes provided)Please do not use the shower on the bath,it is not fit for purpose other than perhaps washing yr hair! Easy walking distance of Marlow on Thames (8 mins.)and good commuter train service via Paddington to London (1hr).Heathrow airport 30 mins,will collect if convenient(£30)or arrange a taxi Garden Am always willing to help with bookings,travel etc Very close to Marlow and the river,great walks from the house to pubs and lots of good restaurants. Also easy access to Windsor,Oxford,London. Also good for Henley Regatta and Festival,can arrange transport to and fro if it helps. Good train service to anywhere. Parking outside the property.         The Apple Tree House is a large elegant Edwardian house totally refurbished in 2014 to a very high specification. The house, nestled in the heart of this quintessentially English country village, provides spacious luxury rental accommodation over three floors with 6 large bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 5 reception rooms and a garage.The house has been sympathetically renovated keeping several original fireplaces and interior features.Outside, the house offers private gardens of approx. three quarters of an acre, overlooking The Thames Valley towards Cliveden House at Taplow.The House has the services of a local manager to check guests in and out, and to advise the visitors of the day to day running of the house (alarms, heating, satellite TV, Wi Fi, Cookers etc).         The SpaceThe six bedrooms and bathrooms offer a variety of luxurious accommodation over the top two floors of the house and all but the top twin have satellite television. On the top floor is one of the principal suites offering a large bedroom with vaulted ceiling and beautiful views over farmland towards Cliveden House. The room is tastefully furnished with designer wallpaper, crushed velvet accessories, silk curtains and crystal beading giving a somewhat boudoir feel. Leading off from the bedroom is the spacious white and grey marble bathroom complete with large circular bath, television built into mirrored effect walls, large walk in rain shower with side jets plus other usual facilities. The second bedroom on this floor has twin beds plus a day bed with trundle bed under and can sleep up to four comfortably. This is a great kids room. The adjacent bathroom has full size bath with hand shower, basin and toilet. On the first floor the principal suite comprises of very large bedroom, sumptuously decorated in gilt and blue with huge super king size bed and French Versailles style furniture. The bathroom is mainly slab marble with a twin walk in shower, twin basins and television concealed in the above sink mirror plus lovely views over the local countryside. To the rear on this floor is the smallest bedroom which comfortably houses twin single beds plus furniture and has an en suite shower room. To the front we have two king sized rooms. The 'pink' room is decorated in deep pink and bronze with a king size bed, limed furniture, television, beautiful en suite bathroom with full sized bath, walk in shower and double width basin and views over the old cricket common. The 'blue room' is again of large proportion with king sized metal frame bed and cream painted furniture. The adjacent bathroom has full sized bath with shower over, basin and w.c. and views over the old cricket common. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house. The luxury bespoke kitchen and spacious breakfast room are situated at the rear of the house taking advantage of views over lovely rolling fields and the beautiful morning sun. Cooking facilities include two full sized ovens, steam oven and microwave/grill set in the popular cube formation. There is an induction hob, dishwasher, American fridge/freezer, wine fridge and a large array of cupboards, granite work tops and preparation areas. The utility room includes laundry items and easy access to the rubbish disposal area through the back door plus side entrance to the detached double garage. The breakfast area houses a large oak table and seating for 12 people and has easy access to the rear garden through 2 sets of French doors. There are also 2 televisions, one in the cooking area and one overlooking the breakfast table and the music system can also be operated from here. The formal dining room is situated at the front of the house. This is a large airy room with a fine oblong dining table and twelve comfortable dining chairs - ideal for a formal dinner party or large family lunch. Interaction with GuestsAlthough the owners live locally, there will be minimum interaction with the guests. On your day of arrival, the housekeeper will be there to welcome and greet you. The NeighborhoodCookham Dean is a small picturesque village featuring its own church, two fine local pubs both serving food and The Sanctum boutique hotel and restaurant all within walking distance (max 3 mins) of the house. The countryside is typical of the Chilterns Hills with abundant farming and woodland for those who enjoy walking. Several National Trust properties are within easy reach i e Hughenden Manor, Cliveden House and West Wycombe House and Caves to mention a few. Cookham Rise is a short drive away featuring a splendid butcher and Countrystore local supermarket where you buy virtually everything. The close by towns of Marlow and Maidenhead both house most of the larger Supermarkets and a fine Artisan bakery in Marlow. The Thames riverside is never far away with the nearest town being Cookham (a 5 min drive) which is home to The Sir Stanley Spencer gallery along with several very good restaurants such as The White Oak and The Bell & Dragon and two of the best Indian restaurants in the UK. Other towns nearby are Marlow (good for high street shops) with fine local Hotels such as The Complete Angler Hotel sitting on the River Thames and Dansfield House Hotel and Spa. Marlow also hosts its annual Town Regatta in June and is one of the multi-lane regattas in the British Rowing calendar, attracting a large entry from schools, clubs and universities from around the UK along with overseas crews who are preparing for Henley Royal Regatta, in Henley which is worth a visit and is a stone’s throw away. Henley is also famous for The Henley Festival, with both events being held during the summer months. Other local events such as The Boxing Day Games and The Gravity Grand Prix which are held locally in Cookham Dean are also an enjoyable day out. The riverside town of Maidenhead is also nearby with its cinema, bowling and Leisure centre. The town of Beaconsfield, although not on the river, is worth a mention with its old and new towns as well as Beaconscott Model Village and various excellent eateries. London attractions speak for themselves and are too numerous to mention, however other attractions are also nearby. Windsor castle, Windsor racecourse, Royal Ascot Races, Royal Windsor Horse Show, Henley Regatta, Wimbledon & Wembley Stadium to name but a few. We must also boast to those who enjoy fine dining with the likes of The Hand and Flowers Marlow, Cliveden House Hotel in Taplow, The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn at Bray are all 2 and 3 star restaurants - we really are spoilt for choice. All within a 15 minute drive of Cookham Dean. Apart from the above, Christmas and New Year in Cookham might appeal, especially for family get togethers. Several large hotels are within easy reach of The Orchard and would provide excellent accommodation for those travelling to the local area for weddings and other such family occasions. There is such a wealth of meal options available from the humble pizza to a gourmet meal that it would not be necessary to cook at all if required, unless you wanted to! Getting AroundCar hire is recommended although not essential however. The grounds of The Orchard gives way to a horseshoe driveway, giving easy In/Out Access for cars. Plentiful parking is available. All major motorways are with easy reach of The Orchard - M4, M25 and M40 all close by. Junction 8/9 of the M4 is less than 10 mins away and depending on traffic you can get to Knightsbridge (Harrods) in approx. 45 mins. Country lanes for cyclists to explore and of course the River Thames for boaters and paddlers. The painter Stanley Spencer was born and lived here all his life, and there is a gallery devoted to his work in the village. Overlooking Cookham, up on a steep, chalky ridge, the famous house and gardens of Cliveden looks down. It is a National Trust property and offers beautiful long walks with great views over the River Thames and beyond. Pubs and restaurants to explore within walking distance . Getting AroundThe house is five minutes drive from Cookham railway station, which connects to Marlow and Maidenhead, and from there to London (direct trains to London also available at peak hours). By car, we are 10 minutes drive from the M4 or the M40, and Heathrow airport is 30 minutes away. You will probably need a car to get around. We can pick you up/take you to the station by prior arrangement.

The town of Marlow is very historic and you will find pubs that are hundreds of years old along with the trendy bars. The High Street is flanked by numerous restaurants and you will be spoilt for choice re where to eat! If shopping is your thing then Marlow has many boutiques to browse around along with a mini M&S and Waitrose for all those essentials. Getting AroundWalk - You can walk into Marlow from this property in less than two minutes. Buses - Marlow has good links into Henley and High Wycombe. Train - Marlow has a small train station (ten mins walk from house) which will take you to the nearby villages and towns: Bourne End, Cookham and Maidenhead). London - Maidenhead (ten minutes away) has direct train links into London. Parts of the grounds are attributed to the 18th Century landscape designer Capability Brown and have been designated as An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within the grounds lie the award winning marina and Thames side moorings, luxurious holiday homes, residential properties and an idyllic riverside venue for relaxing with a book and a good friend. Your fully furnished apartment offers you spacious and fun living accommodation. This is a gorgeous, single story Scandinavian log cabin holiday home. The master bedroom has the En Suit and there is a further double bedroom and bathroom. You also have a vaulted living room, a fully equipped kitchen and large veranda with a fine view. This peaceful setting has private parking and 24/7 security. 2 TVs There are 2 Smart TVs in the log cabin for your use, one in the sitting room and one in the master bedroom.
