The SpaceBed and breakfast in a double room, with a standard double bed, in a four bedroomed brick and flint cottage in Gresham. The bedroom is reached by a Norfolk winder staircase and there is a downstairs bathroom, which is rather dated but it all works. There is a shower via a mixer tap over the bath and fan heater, as it's a bit cold in winter! There is a kitchen and dining room and a large lounge with TV, DVD player and BT Vision box. There are woodburners in the lounge and dining room. We have a large garden which is slowly being tamed. Well-behaved pets are welcome for an additional cleaning fee of £15 for the first night, then £5 each extra night, plus a bit extra if more than one. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. Guest AccessBreakfast is included - muesli, porridge, shredded wheat and various other cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, honey, home-made marmalade and jam, eggs from the neighbours' hens when available, tea, coffee, herbal tea. You can eat it with us or on your own, whichever you prefer. I can also provide packed lunches and an evening meal for an extra charge (£3.00 for a packed lunch, £7.50 for evening meal, usually vegetarian). We generally have wholemeal or soda bread and skimmed milk and yoghurt, so if you want white bread and semi-skimmed or whole milk and yoghurt, let me know and I'll buy them if I have enough notice. Plus if you want a specific cereal for breakfast and fruit juice or smoothie or anything else, if you give me enough notice I'll buy some. You may use the kitchen to prepare your own drinks and meals and you may use the washing machine overnight, as we are on Economy 7, but we have no tumble dryer. The mobile phone signal is weak in the house but we have wireless internet access. There is parking space in the front garden and a shed for bikes, plus plenty of tools, oil and a puncture repair kit should they be needed. Interaction with GuestsI am happy to sit and chat but I can also leave you alone! Sometimes you may have to fend for yourself if I am busy, but I can show you where everything is. The NeighborhoodGresham is a village near the north Norfolk coast, three miles south of Sheringham and five miles south west of Cromer, both coastal towns. We are also about a 5 minute walk from Chaucer Barn and a 10 -15 minute walk from All Saints, Gresham, so very handy if you are going to a wedding there. Gresham is handy for visiting stately homes - Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are within easy cycling distance. Holkham Hall is also nearby and Houghton Hall is about 30 - 40 minutes away by car. The area is also good for cycling (the house is on the National Cycle Route number 30, part of the Norfolk Coast Cycleway), seal watching at Blakeney, bird watching at Cley and walking the Norfolk Coast Path. There are also walks from the house. The nearest town is Sheringham, 3 miles to the north. Cromer is about 5 miles away to the north east. The Georgian market town of Holt is 5 miles to the west. Norwich is about 20 miles to the south. Gresham is very quiet - there are no pubs or shops. The nearest pubs are The Wheatsheaf at West Beckham, about a mile away, The Red Hart in Bodham or Roman Camp Inn in Aylmerton, both about 2 miles away, and all within easy cycling distance along quiet roads. All three pubs serve food, with The Red Hart being particularly good. The nearest shop is at Aylmerton, about 2 miles away. I have lots of leaflets on activities in the area and can advise you on running, walking and cycling routes. I have OS maps and walking books that you may borrow. Getting AroundThe nearest railway station is at Sheringham, 3 miles away and bikes can be taken on the Bittern Line train to Norwich. A taxi from Sheringham to our house is around £10 - £12. Once a day there is a bus from Gresham to Cromer and one to Holt. Ideally you need your own transport for getting around, either by car or bike. Bikes can be hired from Black Bikes in Sheringham and Huff and Puff in Kelling Heath. Huff and Puff will also deliver the bikes to the house for a fee. (Black Bikes might do that as well, but I'm not certain.) Electric bikes can be hired from Electrifying Bikes in Cromer. Other Things to NoteThe mobile phone signal is weak in the house but we have wireless internet access. Be careful if relying on GPS to get here in case you lose the signal. Also some GPS seem to direct guests a rather bizarre way. Best to look at a map to check. There are no street lights in the village, so it's good for star gazing.

The SpaceThe chalet has 3 bedrooms, can just about accommodate 6 people in 2 double beds and 1 single plus truckle bed, but as this room leads off of the double room and is small, it is better suited for 2 children. There is a sunny lounge with a wood burning stove heating the lounge, kitchen and front bedroom. This stove is efficient at heating the chalet. The two back bedrooms (one leading off the other) have 2 small plug in radiators. The kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom is well fitted with bath and powerful shower. There is a heated towel rail that can be switched on and off, but it's very hot so take precautions with children. We will supply enough wood and kindling for one nights fire and then you can purchase any other wood and coal from the local shop in Sea Palling or local farm shop. Please take precautions with children as there isn't a fire guard. Interaction with GuestsWe live a short distance away and are contactable by phone and email. The NeighborhoodSea Palling is a friendly village community. It is a stunning location all year round with a beautiful blue flag sandy beach. Seals, birds and stunning skies. In season its possible to hire bikes, buy fresh fish from a fish stall and there is a fish and chip shop/cafe. All year round you must visit the best amusement arcade for miles. There is a well stocked village shop and post office, beach bar and cafe that are also open all year. In season there is a super cafe a mile or so away along the beach at Cart Gap and another at Waxham Barns. The popular Nelson's Head Pub is a few miles away at Horsey, near the National Trust wind pump. Stalham is a short drive with a large supermarket, twice monthly farmers market and some excellent junk/antique shops and a useful shop selling local produce and gifts. There are a couple of well stocked farm shops within a mile or so. There is a good old fashioned safe feel about Sea Palling. If you want to get in the car, North Norfolk is equally stunning and we're on the edge of the Norfolk Broads for boat trips. **Please see the Sea Palling and Waxham website for lots of information** Getting AroundThere is a bus into Sea Palling. The SpaceJuanperi Cottage is in the heart of the old fishing village of Winterton-on-Sea, a few steps away from the shop, post office and pub. Walk out of the gate and within a very few minutes you are on a stunning, completely unspoilt sandy beach. Perfectly situated for a bucket and spade holiday, a winter break or a romantic getaway, the house is comfortably furnished and equipped for all seasons. It boasts free wifi, Sky, Netflix, Apple TV (Airplay), oil-fired central heating, a separate dining room and a long, enclosed garden that was once filled with drying fishing nets. A stable door from the living room opens onto the garden where there is a barbecue area and a lawn with space for children and pets to play. Upstairs the spacious master bedroom, which looks out over the garden, has a genuine Victorian bedstead, while in the second bedroom there is a triple-sleeper bunk bed fitted with memory foam mattresses top and bottom. The recently fitted bathroom is downstairs and conveniently situated for coming in from the beach and washing off the sand. As well as an HD TV, the lounge also features a DVD player, a landline telephone for emergency or incoming calls and an electric log-effect woodburner. There is a small library of DVDs and books and a collection of games and toys. At the rear there is parking for one vehicle and on-road parking close by for a second. The cottage is also within sight of the bus stop on the village green from where there is a regular service to Gt Yarmouth. Electricity/heating, bedlinen and towels are included in the price. Dogs are welcome at no extra charge and the beach is dog friendly year round. The cottage is no smoking. Winterton is perfect for holidays with the children, but it's a great place for breaks throughout the year. Even at the height of summer the beach is never crowded. There is a cafe and toilets, meaning you can spend the day soaking up the sun or splashing around with the kids before wandering back the short distance to the comforts of home. The dunes are a nationally recognised site of special scientific interest, home to rare species including the Natterjack toad and the whole area is a bird-watcher, nature lover, artist or photographer’s dream. In summer a colony of little terns - one of the UK's rarest seabirds - takes over part of the beach for the nesting season. Then in the winter grey seals from the thriving colony at nearby Horsey come ashore to have their pups. Both grey and common seals are often seen stopping on Winterton beach for a snooze and they can be spotted in the water throughout the year. The village is on the doorstep of the Norfolk Broads. Dayboats can be hired from a yard at a neighbouring village and guided boat trips are available at Horsey Mere - a hidden gem of a nature reserve. Winterton is a short drive, but a world away from the amusements of Gt Yarmouth and not far away from family attractions like BeWILDerwood and Thrigby Hall Wildlife Park. It is also about 45 minutes from Pleasurewood Hills theme park. Norwich, described by JB Priestley as a fine city, is about 40 minutes' drive. As well as the highly rated castle museum and beautiful cathedral, it is very popular for shopping. Norfolk is dotted with fascinating museums chronicling its fishing, agricultural and military history and one of the remnants of the area's herring fishing industry, the 1930s-built steam drifter Lydia Eva, is moored in Yarmouth and where it is open to visitors. The area is great for walking, fishing and cycling, there is golfing nearby at Caister and sea fishing trips can be booked at Scratby. Guest AccessPrivate garden. Interaction with GuestsGuests are given privacy to enjoy their holiday without interruption but we are very happy to help if they experience any problems. The NeighborhoodThe biggest attraction in Winterton-on-Sea is the fabulous, unspoilt beach and the dunes, which are a nature reserve. This friendly village, which boasts two shops, two pubs and a chippy, is also on the doorstep of the Norfolk Broads. Boat hire is available in the neighbouring village of Martham. A short drive (but a world away) is Gt Yarmouth, with its seafront attractions, famous Hippodrome Circus and pleasure beach. Norwich, described by JB Priestley as a fine city, is just 40 minutes away by car. Getting AroundA car is advised because this is a rural area. But there is a regular bus service to Gt Yarmouth where there is a railway station with connections to Norwich and London. The nearest airport is at Norwich.

The SpaceThis lovely restored 1874 Wrecker's cottage is spacious; peaceful; unique; well equipped and inviting, giving privacy yet at the same time, quick access via the back gate, to the beach. The garden is quiet secluded & a sun trap. There is now a brick barbeque in the garden for your use but please, please, leave it clean & tidy after use for the next guests. Guest AccessWiFi is included & there is also a dishwasher. There are some books, DVD's, jigsaws, puzzles & games & lots of information literature relevant to various 'attractions' & things to do close by. Don't forget to see the seals & their pups during late Autumn & Spring, at Horsey Gap further away at Winterton, if you are interested. The Fisherman's Return at Winterton is a good place to eat as is The Star at Lessingham. Both accept well behaved dogs. You cannot pre-book at the former but I would suggest booking during peak times, at the latter. There is information in Clipper for these & other places to dine & explore as previously mentioned. Interaction with GuestsAs I live not too far away I can be of assistance if required. Otherwise a friend will be able to assist. The NeighborhoodSea Palling is a quiet but busy little village offering Blue Flag beaches, they won it again in 2016, wonderful walks & cycle rides; a pub; cafes; small amusement area; children's playground; a well stocked local shop & opposite the shop, look for the board that notes what fresh fish from the local fisherman, is available that day. Easy access to The Broads, other villages & coastal resorts & Norwich which is about 20miles away. You should not be stuck for something to do regardless of the weather. Getting AroundAlthough there is public transport it is not very frequent so a car makes life so much easier. Clipper Cottage has ample parking for four cars if they are parked sensibly. Other Things to NoteIf required, I can supply a cot (£10 ) & high chair (£5) for your baby. Bath & hand towel are provided for each guest. Additional towels for beach use can be found in the linen basket in the bathroom. During the winter & autumn a bucket of coal & a basket of wood will be left for your use. Interaction with GuestsWe will personally attend to our guests needs and provide a tailored service to deliver a unique and wonderful holiday experience The NeighborhoodThe area has it all, wonderful landscapes, walks on endless beaches, cycling, canoeing, private fishing, BeWilderwood family adventure park on your doorstep and of course the 200km of idyllic waterways to explore on a stunning vintage cruiser. Plenty of outside parking with a large gravel parking area, enough room for 3-4 cars. Raised decking area with seating under a pergola just outside the kitchen door, perfect for alfresco dinning on those hot summer evenings. A dedicated paved suntrap area outside the pretty painted garden shed (which houses the BBQ). The garden also boasts a large lawned area for either admiring or relaxing in or kicking a ball about with the children. The gravelled drive is perfect for those boules fans - get the red wine out and get the competition on! You can even pick your own fruit from the cherry apple and plum trees, first come first serve on those I’m afraid! Thing's to do For children up to 12: BeWILDerwood is a little over a mile away, between Hoveton and Horning: BeWILDerwood is a wild and imaginative adventure park with magical treehouses where parents are encouraged to play alongside their children, which makes for a fabulous and brilliantly exciting day out for the whole family. Wroxham Barns offers sightly more traditional fun: there is a petting zoo, numerous stalls and shops and a mini fun fair and mini golf. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens is a nicely designed zoo where the animals are kept in well designed, spacious enclosure (or they used to be anyway - I haven't been for a few years). Lenwade dinosaur park: There is also the funfair and seafront at Great Yarmouth. Activities You can hire bicycles at bewilderwood Canoeing is also possible (the upper reaches of the Bure are lovely. Kayaks can also be hired at Sea Palling There is also a Go Ape at Thetford Walks There are loads of great walks. The Weavers Way has some lovely walks, the sections around North Walsham are within easy distance. There is a footpath running alongside the river Bure from Belaugh up to Aylsham - all lovely. There is a lovely, shorter walk between Belaugh and Coltishall - park near the church at Belaugh, wander down to the river and you will pick up the footpath signs. There are great walks on the north norfolk coast - Holkham Beach, Blakeney Point (although it's miles of shingle beach so beware), Wells next the Sea. There are also much nearer coastal Walks at Sea Palling, Waxham and Winterton on Sea. There are terrific walks at Holkham, Blickling and Felbrigg - all national trust houses Things to see Norfolk has a stunning selection of Medieval Churches, too many to name here, but St Michael's, Barton Turf and Ranworth both have wondeful rood screeens. Salle and Worstead make the jaw drop with their scale and Hautbois (pronounced Hubbis) St Theobald is a combines both splendidly evocative ruin with a round tower on an ancient sire by the banks of the Bure. Norwich of course has its cathedral and the remnants of one of the great medieval town centres of Europe destroyed in the so called Baedeker raids at the start of WW2, but Tombland, the collection of streets opposite the main gate to the cathedral is still charming and has a decent selection of junk and antique shops making it well worth a visit. The Castle is also well worth a visit on a rainy day - there are some terrific interactive exhibits for children and a an art gallery with some wonderful Cotman's and other artists of the Norwich school. For those who want something more modern, the Sainsbury Centre is probably your best bet. The three great stately homes of Norfolk, Blickling, Houghton and Holkham are all worth a visit. Blickling is by far the closest and although the interior doesn't quite live up to the magnificence of the exterior (too many of the contents have been sold) it has lovely gardens and park and the Buckinghamshire Arms just in front of it does decent food. Houghton and Holkham are both wonderful, Houghton though is not a national trust property so be careful about opening times. They are both an hour or so away. The Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden are worth a visit have a very good collection of wetland plants and makes for a pleasant forty minute wander. Finally, St Benet's Abbey, which although it is slightly underwhelming as a ruin is still beautiful and makes for a very pleasant walk down from Horning. It was one of the greatest abbeys of medieval England and the only one not to be closed down by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries. It gives a good sight of the broads landscape - a landscape that was in large part created by the monks of the abbey. Shopping and Eating You will have noticed Roys on your way through Hoveton (although, for obvious reasons, it calls itself Roys of Wroxham, Wroxham is in fact the village on the other side of the Bure, which is Hoveton! Roys is 'the world's largest village store' - it has a not bad supermarket, a department store (with a pharmacy), garden centre, clothes boutique, children's clothing shop, DIY and toy shop. For those that want even more of bargain than what Roys has to offer Lathams at Potter Heigham offers a unique insight into the bargain hungry attitudes of the Norfolk shopper. But Roys will be able to et all of your basic needs pretty well. Norwich of course has the usual range of malls and shops. Wroxham also has a fishing shop ((website hidden)) For better quality food there is a Waitrose at North Walsham fifteen minutes away. Coltishall also has a good selection of shops. Hewitt's a is a good, old fashioned butchers. There is a slightly eccentric greengrocers next to the chemists who if you are lucky will sell you punts of delicious wild Norfolk mushrooms. Just along from that is A Piece of Cake which does excellent cakes and a decent cup of coffee. Over the bridge towards Norwich there is Farm to Fork to Fish which has good fish and meat (pricier than Mr Hewitt) and excellent bread from the Pye Bakery in Norwich and a selection of cheeses etc. There is also a little deli in Horning /the-galley which has some lovely delights - have their warm scotch eggs - they are scrumptuous. Norfolk is something of a culinary desert. The only really good restaurant is Morston Hall, but that's an hour away. Other than that, the Saracen's head is well worth finding - it is in the middle of nowhere and there is a lovely walk in the park at Mannington just by it). The Bure River Cottage Restaurant is a very good fish restaurant, if a little spartan. The Recruiting Sergeant in Horstead, the Black Boys inn (sic) at Aylsham and the Buckinghamshire Arms by Blickling are all run by the same group and offer, good quality ingredients and hearty portions cooked well. Getting AroundFive minutes drive from Hoveton train station with connections to Norwich and London 2.5 hours away. Other Things to NoteAll linen is 300 thread count Egyptian cotton, sumptuous feather and down duvets and pillows (synthetic can be provided if preferred) and every room is provided with Egyptian cotton 650gsm towel sets.

Getting AroundIf you've done the right thing and decided to leave the car behind, there is plenty of easy access to public transport or arranged transport with ourselves. Hoveton and Wroxham train station is about a 5 min walk! Other Things to NoteAll linen is 300 thread count Egyptian cotton, sumptuous feather and down duvets and pillows (synthetic can be provided if preferred) and every room is provided with Egyptian cotton 650gsm towel sets. A welcome package is provided with every booking on arrival which includes a selection of local goodies and necessities.

The SpaceChurch Farmhouse still has traces of its 15th Century origins. A large family home in brick and flint, it has countless features giving glimpses of the changes it has undergone throughout the ages. It sits in an acre of garden where old apple and plum (not forgetting the large white mulberry) trees stand beside borders full of colour and interest Through the gate there is a large striped lawn with a burgeoning veggy patch on one side, while chickens scratch way and lay their delicious eggs, on the other. Beyond, there is a grass tennis court and sweeping views of the countryside and our medieval church. Guest AccessThis has been our family home for over 25 years and we would now like to share it with others. The accommodation would suit a couple or an individual who can enjoy the luxury double bedroom in your own private area upstairs which includes a bathroom with a walk in shower and a snug breakfast room. There is an additional double bedroom within this, if you would like to come with family or friends. Both are furnished with fine Egyptian cotton bedlinen and luxurious towels and a bathroom with a bath and shower. Breakfast is a personal affair - eating at your leisure (midday if you wish) - by helping yourself to a range of delights from traditional cereal to mixing your own muesli (add your own goodies nuts goji berries seeds etc), granola, fruits and yoghurt, then finish off with toast, marmalade and jams. However, you can indulge in a full English fry up which will be cooked for you until 10 am. The majority of the food is homemade and organic where possible. All dietary requirements are catered for - you just have to let us know. Homemade cake or scones await you after your journey here and we offer a complimentary bottle of wine (colour of your choice) and a taste of homemade Norfolk chocolate to tempt you. Once the weather warms up you are welcome to enjoy breakfast in our walled garden. A well behaved dog is welcome too at a charge of £10.00 per night. I also offer a dog sitting service - we have a large walled garden where your pet can feel safe with our own dogs. Enjoy visiting a stately home or going shopping without worrying about having to leave your dog in the car. Please contact me for further details. Interaction with GuestsWe welcome our guests to our family home and look forward to enabling them to make the best of their stay in North Norfolk. We are happy to provide maps, bikes, and a game on the grass tennis court. The NeighborhoodPlumstead is a remarkably peaceful village surrounded by farmland. It is just five miles from the striking Georgian town of Holt with its array of unique privately owned shops and restaurants. It also boasts a highly regarded Summer Festival at the end of July. North Norfolk is famous for its coastline with its fabled marshes that stretch from east to west. It is world renowned for birdlife with Cley just 20 minutes away. Beaches range from the traditional at Sheringham to the breathtaking expanses of sand and dunes at Wells and Holkham. For the more restless there is superb sea sailing at Blakeney and Morston or you may simply wish to take a trip to see the seals from either of these small harbours. We are lucky enough to have no less than four outstanding National Trust "properties" Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park (the rhododendrons and azaleas are exquisite) and finally Blakeney Point. For those who like to strike the little white ball you will be spoilt for choice for golf links, Sheringham being the pick. However, even the most seasoned campaigner, as the six foot putt is lined up for a half, may be startled by the sound of steam and the smell of smoke and ashes as a locomotive climbs the gradient on the North Norfolk Railway from Sheringham to Holt, offering spectacular views of the coast. Nonetheless we urge you to resist these delights for part of your stay, leave the car and explore the enchanting paths that take you through wildflowers and woodland that radiate out of our village. If you are a stargazer you will be in for a treat as the night sky is strikingly free of manmade light. If you would like to venture a little further afield we can lend you bikes so that you can meander down sleepy lanes and seek out our remarkable heritage of medieval churches. Getting AroundYou will need a car to explore North Norfolk - though we are happy to lend bikes if available and walking is often a perfect way to absorb the undulating beauty of the surrounding area.
